I told the owner that our dog had separation anxiety and could only be left for 2 to 3 hours at a time. She assured me this would be fine, and assigned a dog sitter Scott who worked from home. 3 days into our trip, we got a text that our dog was injured (self-inflicted hotspots from anxiety). I immediately asked Scott how long he had left him, and he said just a few hours. This did not add up at all for us, so my husband checked the outdoor security cameras and Scott was gone eight full hours! He outright lied to us. Since our trust had been broken, I had a family member come pick our dog up and take him to the vet. The vet called and said the staff was literally crying - they said they had never seen wounds this bad from anxiety. He had licked himself raw in so many places, it was horrific. We had to come home immediately, and forfeit our entire vacation. We have gone on vacation many other times before with sitters who did what they said they would do, and he was absolutely fine. I took months to write this review because I was too upset to deal with it. Insurance did cover lost expenses after a lengthy process, but our dog is still healing months later. I hate writing bad reviews, but we would never use this company again or recommend them to anyone.

We had scheduled to take him in just before we left, but right before that, there was a technical issue at the vet, which meant he'd have to wait two weeks to start treatment - this could make a major difference in the outcome. With such a short time frame, we were in a bind and starting to panic. Luckily, the vet recommended we call Samantha. That day, she swung by our place to meet our boy, answer our questions, and grab some of his favorite treats to keep with her for his transport. She contacted both the boarding place and the vet on her own to let them know what was up (and make sure that our buddy didn't get fed before his procedure because that'd cause rescheduling.) That made us feel like we could take the trip and get his treatment started. Day of the appointment, she arrived at the boarding place on time, took him for his treatment, waited to make sure everything was good, then brought him back to get settled at the boarding facility, plying him with treats and petting on the way. He needs a special halo harness because of his poor eyesight, and it was no problem for her to get him secured. She sent pics and updates as the morning went. That absolutely reduced our anxiety and made it possible for us to enjoy the trip. She's professional, proactive, responsive, and clearly loves dogs. Thank you, Samantha! We'll definitely be calling on Premier Pet TLC again.

It is difficult to find a doggy boarding/day care that provides such well rounded, holistic approach to pet care. We have used Walk ATX for boarding, day camp with pick up and drop off included, and for in home check ins with walks. As well as their add-ons like baths and fun photoshoots. Mo is a party animal - we are constantly training, working with him and we fill all of his needs. Yet he is an energetic, happy 2.5yo rescue from Austin Pets Alive. He is a foster win actually. He's always soooo excited when he realizes he's about to get dropped off at Walk ATX and he's welcomed with big smiles and a huge "Hi Mo!!!!!" by the passionate and hard working staff. Walk ATX does pack walks, outdoor playtime in their yard with staff assigned to different groups of dogs. I love that there's constant supervision and a structured day. Including rest/down time, which is just as important as to not overstimulate the doggos. It seems as if Walk ATX has only gotten better over the years. They've incorporated training, special add-ons, and cool adventures. Last time Mo stayed with them while we were in Costa Rica, Britton and the team were super attentive (Mo was on limited activity for the first few days per our vet), and even called to give an update, in addition to their daily updates via email and on their app "Time to Pet". I know Mo is cared for and looked after by a group of caring animal lovers.

Once I found Walk ATX it took me a while to get in contact with someone, called a couple times, left a voicemail, sent a couple emails -to no avail! Sent a dm on insta as a last resort and finally got in contact with someone! Yay! Erika helped me set up my account and went over daycare. Dropped my pup off for his first day! First impressions matter to me and as someone who is nervous I would have loved to see them greet my dog. Instead the woman at the front ( not sure her name - mullet - immediately went into a quick " take off the leash. What's his name? You'll get an update at 11" And then I watched her usher him straight to the backyard. No saying hi to the dog, no convo with me, no easing his nerves, no questions about him, no petting him, no introductions, nothing. I didn't love that, especially since it was our first time and it made me much more nervous to drop him off there. Around 11:00 I started to look for updates, none. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Again this is his first day so not hearing anything on how he was doing and getting no photos - nerves then rose to an all time high. People are allowed to have bad days so will update this after a few more times. Just know the first day is not as informative or warm may not be as warm as you'd expect.

I love how advanced her company is with allowing you to book services via the app, select your preferred time and to be as detailed as possible regarding the care of your pets. The app alerts you to who will be the sitter, when they are en route and when they leave. Every sitter we have has followed our instructions perfectly and they also go above and beyond by checking our mail and retrieving any packages at our front door as long as it is in the allotted time frame. Each time the sitter leaves, they upload photos of them with your animal and recap what they did during the visit. You can also reply via the app or email and it goes directly to the sitter. When we travel, I can relax knowing that my babies are in good, trusting hands.
