We used Melissa as our DOC, but her services really extended beyond that - we had planning meetings that were incredibly helpful, & she stepped in to assist with a couple of difficult vendors when we felt that we were in over our heads. Whenever I had issues come up, prior to the wedding, or actual day of she ALWAYS had a solution, if not several sound suggestions for a solution. She is an incredibly reasonable person, & this extends as a grounding force when a bride (or groom) can be teetering off the deep end. Plus, she will be right there in the trenches with you when your bustle rips during the reception :). She is an incredibly experienced & well-seasoned wedding planner / coordinator with the knowledge, staff, network, & expertise to match it. We absolutely loved her & loved working with her in the time leading up to the wedding, & I was so glad to have her at the actual wedding because beyond her doing her job, she felt like part of our family & I was excited for her to share in our day. My family & guests also really loved her. Camille and her staff made our wedding everything that we could've dreamed! We used her services for Day-Of Coordinating and staffing. We had been feeling extremely out of our depth with wedding planning. We had a ton of family coming in from out of town and we were concerned about getting everyone there, getting all the materials there, and we felt like we were losing sight of the actual goal: to get married. Camille made the day so easy for us. All the worries and concerns that had been building up in the months leading up to the wedding felt heard and understood from our very first meeting. She asked us all the right questions, and made the whole thing seem doable, and more than that actually made the whole wedding doable. My wife and I tend to be planners so everyone was very concerned about us actually kicking back and enjoying our wedding instead of micromanaging everything from the sidelines. From the moment we arrived at the venue on the big day, it was clear that everything was taken care of! My mom rolled up with a trailer filled to the brim with all our wedding things, and Camille and her staff took over arranging everything including our archway exactly as we had pictured it! She followed all of our requests and anything that we didn't explicitly discuss was arranged beautifully without adding any additional stress to our plates. Throughout the night her staff was professional and accommodating. They handled set up of everything for the wedding including the archway, decorations for the ceremony, table settings, the welcome table, as well as serving the food, providing bartenders, and putting everything away at the end of the night. We got endless compliments from our friends and family over how beautifully everything was done and we were blown away ourselves! Camille made sure we were taken care of with everything for the night. She made sure we had plates of food once dinner was started, she kept us hydrated, and kept us on our timeline so we didn't miss out on photography, cake cutting, and every other event we had outlined. I want to give a huge thank you to Austin Occasions! Thank you to Melissa who coordinated everything with me leading up to the wedding and a special thank you to the staff, and most specifically, Elona. Unfortunately, my wedding planner (not through Austin Occasions) was very disappointing and without Elona, so many things that were important to me, would have fallen through the cracks. Once it was evident that my coordinator wasn't going to do certain things she was supposed to, Elona teamed up with my mother and made sure everything came together effortlessly! She saved the day in so many ways and she and Sara and Keifer were hard-working, professional, and friendly! I have used Austin Occasions for work events as well and they have always been great to work with! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was told that the staff would be breaking down the tables and chairs at the end of the night and loading things up but those things weren't done so my dad and coordinator had to stay late to do this and I was charged extra from my coordinator. I completely understand that there weren't enough people to tackle this, but I wish that expectation hadn't have been set for me. It wasn't fair that my dad had to do this. Melissa and her staff made our wedding day amazing and seamless. We used her services for Day-Of Planner, Event Staffing and Floral. They knocked it out of the park with everything! In the months leading up to the wedding, Melissa was easy to work with and I felt she understood what I was looking for in my semi non-traditional wedding while still providing helpful information on typical wedding standards I was not necessarily familiar with. Hiring a full-service florist was not in our budget so she suggested I buy bulk flowers with her wholesale account but when it came to picking up, trimming, and storing the flowers before the day, I realized this was not feasible so Melissa also gave me a very reasonable quote to handle that for me as well including centerpiece arrangement for my rehearsal dinner and wedding, my bouquet, and boutonnieres. Everything was beautiful and very true to my vision and sample pictures I shared. I couldn't stop gushing over my bouquet and she even did a beautiful floral arrangement on our cake! The actual day went by seamlessly and she and her staff were professional and accommodating, always making sure my husband and I were taken care of. She even brought a fabric sheet for my static-y dress which fixed the mini-emergency of my clinging skirt. I'm happy with our decision to purchase our favorite Barbecue and have Austin Occasions to pick up the food, create a buffet and staff the dinner. We ended up saving money over full-service caterers and didn't have to compromise on the quality of our food. We then still had staffing through the end of the night to wrap things up. Melissa even let members of her staff go early when things winded down a little earlier than expected so we weren't paying for people who turned out not to have much to do. Wow! Shockingly bad service! They catered my husbands 40th birthday, which was a major shin-dig and they showed up so late the guests were almost walking in the door. They were supposed to be there an hour earlier to set up the bar and ice the drinks. The rest of the night went well, so I decided to try them again. I had a signed contract and they had taken my credit card for the event. One hour into the start time no one had shown up, and I was frantic. I received a rude voicemail letting me know that Melissa had confused the date and there was "nothing they could do." She hung up without an apology or any attempt to correct the situation. Megan and David were AWESOME I had never thrown a party with waitstaff and they definitely made the party much more manageable. The weather was ridiculously could the night of the party and David was still in good spirits when he had to stand outside to direct guest from parking in front of the house to preserve the surprise. Can't say enough great things about this team! It was my first party to ever throw. I had a graduation party at which they bartended, served food, and even had a meat carver available for. Melissa and her team were so professional, they came in and did not have to ask very many questions at all, they saw what I had brought and they made it work. They are experts in what they do! The party could not have gone better. I initially thought I would have to do a lot of hands on work myself, Melissa and her team allowed me to sit back and actually enjoy my own party. What was so nice is that Melissa brought along a young man "in training" at no extra cost to me, so we had more than enough help at the party! Austin Occasions staffed our wedding on 10/15/16 and they were amazing. From bartending to helping pick up during the reception, they were just awesome. One of our guests had a wardrobe malfunction- her dress split up the back. Melissa sewed our friend's dress so she could get back to the dance floor! Melissa also offered to create a little wristlet to hold up my dress so I could dance since it was long without my heels. We had two coolers full of meats, cheeses, fruits, etc for our charcuterie board, and no one who was able to throw it together for us. Either Melissa or Camille, said, "let me get Bryan on that." Well, Brian, who may also be a chef, jumped on it with a smile on his face and an adept ability to make our charcuterie layout look fabulous, and he did it quickly. I remember asking the other bartender when they arrived if we were short of anything, and she immediately took stock and said, "You're gonna need more of this and more of that," and one of my groomsmen was able to run up to the store and grab some bottles of soda and whatever else she suggested. Melissa was on time to our initial meeting, late to my rehearsal. She wore a small, low cut, see through mini dress with sandals on my wedding day. Her staff and her were not able to read the plans for decorations, eventhough we had previously met at the venue (she was late to to this also) my family had to assist with hanging and placing decorations which means there are very few pictures of me with my mom and sister getting ready on one of my most important days. There were few photos of my father getting ready with the groom. During the entire event, she wasn't available or making sure announcements were happening. Several of my guests left because they thought we left. We were taking our pictures and she asked us to stop because guests were leaving rather than explain what we were doing. This was a first for me and probably a first for Austin Occasions. We decided on short notice after my father's death to have a celebration of his life in my home while my brother's family was here from Colorado. It looked like we might have 60-70 people, and on Friday evening, I began to think that we needed help for this event on Sunday. I started looking online, not even knowing what to look for. Austin Occasions popped up, looked good, so I gave one of the owners a call. We would have the food, beverages, and utensils. All we needed was help serving, etc. She was surprised by the short notice, but when I explained the situation, she told me that she would call her employees and try to find someone who could work. A couple of hours later, she sent me an email saying that she had two people who could work. Miguel and Sydney arrived promptly Sunday afternoon. We were very pleased with how they handled an unusual situation with food coming in randomly; unfamiliar space, dishes, utensils; and a small kitchen. They were so helpful, kind, and thoughtful. Having Austin Occasions help us with this event allowed our family and friends to relax and enjoy the occasion. My sister said this was the best idea I had ever had! I agree.
