If you don't read anymore of this very long and thorough review, please read the next sentence as it will sum everything up. HIRE SOMEONE ELSE TO PLAN YOUR WEDDING!!!! Seriously, if I was not smart, well organized, and a good planner, Tracy Zbranek of Events by Decisions very well could have ruined my wedding. Other than being incredibly charming and pretty, I have no idea how she is staying in business and I feel so sorry for couples who have hired her. I almost fired her three times but didn't because I knew I would be out $3000 that would not be refunded. In her defense, she was somewhat helpful day of. Below are specific examples of my dealings with Tracy from March 2011 to September 2012. Professionalism One of my friends heard her saying nasty things about me, the bride, at my reception. I know it's true because it was recorded. Many people complained about her to me after the wedding and said she was "rude." She drinks way too much and it's just not professional to get smashed at business meetings. It's also not professional to run your hand down my now husband's chest and abs when you say goodbye because you're drunk. Yeah, she did that. She was pretty much late to everything. 5-10 minutes at times, over 1 hr for our initial meeting. Communication Communication with Tracy was challenging to say the least. When she responds to emails it is usually not prompt. Many of my emails went completely unanswered or required 1-2 weeks for a response, with me sending additional inquiry messages. Received responses often didn't address the question or issue at all. There were several times when calls were not returned, promises to call were made and never followed through on, etc. *Organization If you are an organized person there is no reason why you should ask the same questions over and over again because you didn't write down the answers. That happened a lot. So many things were wrong with my reception and she would have caught them had she been more organized. She didn't even notice that the linen company completely left out all of my table runners from the order. This was probably because 1 hr before the rental company closed for the weekend they called me to ask if anyone would be coming to pick up the order, something she was tasked to do! Creativity The phrase "One Trick Pony" comes to mind. She loves to do brunches at Mansion at Judges Hill. Thinking outside the box is not her forte. I was promised an inspiration board when I signed my contract with EDI. I never received one. She did nothing regarding my wedding design. Referrals / Negotiation with Vendors Tracy can get you some awesome discounts. There were several times that we got the hook up because she is very well connected. She is also a great saleswoman and can negotiate like a beast. The problem is that she likes to use the same vendors and makes the same referrals for everyone (Paper Place, Simon Lee...) Some are great places but they are also very pricey. For a bride on a budget they are often just a dream. She sent me to vendors she knew were way out of my budget which only served to waste my time and frustrate me because I just couldn't afford all of the beautiful things laid out before me. I ended up basically finding all of my own vendors. Overall, her communication with vendors was seriously lacking. She failed to let our cake vendor know our cake was leaning and looked like it might fall over. She failed to return the rented cake stand in a timely manner, as she promised me, and cost me a $50 deposit. Value Sure, she might save you money but at what cost to your sanity? Working with her was a maddening and incredibly frustrating experience. I sincerely regret hiring her. I'm not angry anymore and I refuse to let anything about my experiences with her ruin the memory of what was my very special day. But I wish I hadn't hired her and I hope that anyone who reads this won't have to go through what I went through. A lot of the previous reviews reflect a time when there was another partner, Shannon, in the business. She isn't with EDI anymore and it's just Tracy. If you choose to go forward with EDI, best of luck to you. You're going to need it! read more

STAY AWAY FROM EDI AND TRACY. It was the biggest mistake in my wedding. I am not sure how someone can run a business and completely lack in ethics and professionalism, but she has found a way. I would have rated her less than one star if it was possible. If you are looking to hire a wedding planner, LOOK ELSEWHERE. We are still in the process of filing a suit against her. Really hope all brides do not have to go through the same BS I did. Your wedding day is stressful enough, hire someone who is reliable and will actually do the job you pay for. Tracy and Events by Decisions did an awesome job on helping me plan my daughter's wedding!!! I didn't think I needed a wedding planner, and I was in Marquee rental trying to make rental decisions snd had a break down!!! I told one of the employees I need a wedding planner!!!! Tracy was in the store with another customer and I asked please can you help me....I need a wedding planner ASAP !!! She was very nice and told me she could do the job!! I was relieved from that moment forward. Tracy took care of everything and was great with suggestions with the different venders. All the venders she suggested were the best!!!! My daughter had a beautiful wedding and I truly thank Tracy and all her expertise for it!!! I would highly recommend Tracy as a wedding planner and you can relax and enjoy the wedding!!! Hiring Tracy was by FAR the best vendor I hired for my wedding! The last thing I wanted to do on my Big Day was stress over details, so I hired Tracy - She was absolutely invaluable on my wedding day, and was beyond helpful in the planning process. On top of that, she was affordable & found me discounts w/ vendors who, contrary to a comment from another review on here, were also affordable! It's a WEDDING, folks - Most vendors are going to cost you a pretty penny, plus you get what you pay for in life - And I was delighted w/ both the prices & quality of the vendors that Tracy recommended (ie. Paper Place). PLANNING: Tracy met w/ me at my convenience & brainstormed a number of ideas w/ me, from colors to invites to flowers to decor! She understood my vision (rustic elegance) & helped me to execute it perfectly. She met me at Paper Place & helped w/ my stationary size/font/design for our invitations. She also put me in touch w/ an affordable printing company who printed my Save the Date cards, as well as with a designer who created a fantastic design for our Save the Date cards - They turned out FABULOUS!!! Tracy offered to let me borrow large vases as centerpieces for my head table - Something she did not by any means need to do. I was also able to borrow rustic escort card holders from her that looked fantastic on our guest tables! WEDDING DAY: I can honestly say that Tracy saved me from having a complete meltdown the day before my wedding. My caterer, who ended up being the WORST choice of all of my vendors, was also in charge of my linens. When we arrived to set up the day before, the linen colors I had chosen were NOT present. Tracy jumped into action immediately & reassured me she would fix my caterer's incompetency... And boy, did she ever fix it! Not only was I not charged anything extra, but Tracy made a phone call to a linen vendor she knew, drove to the vendor's location, & picked up the exact colors I had planned on using (which were rather specific colors, mind you) - She returned w/ them promptly & we set up our tables - Problem solved! :-) Had I not hired her, I would've been stuck w/ boring ivory & chocolate linens that were NOT what I had requested. She truly saved my color scheme & overall ambiance of my wedding! My 88 year-old grandmother (Nana) walked me down the aisle. Her ankles tend to swell, so she had propped up her feet while waiting for the ceremony to begin. Once she tried on her shoes, the swelling had gone down in her feet which caused her shoes to be way too big! She already walks w/ a cane, so adding ill-fitting shoes to the mix while walking me down the aisle would be disastrous. Tracy once again came to our rescue!! She happened to wear the same size shoe, & she let Nana borrow her adorable, undoubtedly-pricey flats to escort me down the aisle. How many wedding coordinators would do that for a client?! I am willing to bet very few. Tracy was on top of EVERY detail during the ceremony & reception. She ensured that everything was running on-schedule, took care of the money we were given from our "Money Dance" - & her assistant even ran to the nearby store to purchase more beer when we ran out of a specific brand. I never knew that any of these hiccups occurred until we returned from our honeymoon, as Tracy remained calm & diverted the stress I would have felt onto herself. I could not have chosen a more professional, organized, helpful, sweet, & all-around perfect wedding coordinator. I HIGHLY recommend Tracy to any bride-to-be. On a recommendation from a trusted source, we contacted and hired Tracy as the day of coordinator for our daughter's wedding. She did an outstanding job. I really can't say enough about how she took the stress out of the process. We didn't have to do anything but enjoy the day. Her planning and prep, though, included much, much more than just the actual wedding day. I'm proud to know Tracy. She's honest and forthright when making decisions, prompt, and goes to bat on her client's behalf to get every detail completed to perfection. We hired Tracy at Events by Decisions for "day of event" coordination for our son's wedding party this past weekend. She was professional, organized, and had great ideas to help make the party perfect! Although I selected the vendors, Tracy followed through with all of them the week of the party, created a detailed timeline, and made sure everything went smoothly at the party, including loading the wedding gifts into a car and returning the cupcake stands to the bakery. Tracy put on the most beautiful wedding I have ever been to for my brother and his fiancee! Even though it was an outdoor wedding and the rain forecast was 90% for the week before the date, everything went off without a hitch. As the Maid of Honor, the Bride's calmness the few days going in to the wedding is a testament to how wonderfully Tracy handled everything. Tracy was an excellent planner or as I called her, my wedding planning counselor for our October 2013 wedding in Austin that we planned from Dallas. I had specific visions for the day but did not know how to execute them, nor did we have the time to facilitate the details. Tracy did a great job finding us the perfect venue (I still receive compliments), photographer, florist, makeup artist, etc. She had great relationships with those vendors and was able to secure helpful discounts (specifically 50% off linens). Tracy provides an excellent overall planning tool for the day of. She had great, creative ideas and steered me away from things that didn't make sense. I have been to a number of long rehearsals and ours was on point, and she definitely kept those groomsmen in line. Further, planning a wedding is very stressful and can be very emotional. Tracy is open, warm and a good listener. She helped keep me sane during the process, which meant the world. I found Tracy to have competitive rates for her services. We did choose to hire a couple different vendors and she worked with them well. One of those vendors did not perform as expected and Tracy managed it well and although it was a stressful experience, ultimately we had a wonderful day and I'm so glad we had Tracy to help us. Tracy with Events By Decisions, Inc. was a God-send. I could not have planned and gone through my wedding without her! From the get-go Tracy took charge and helped me make important decisions that shaped my wedding into everything I'd dreamed it could be and MORE! She was detail oriented and never skipped a beat. She created a BEAUTIFUL rehearsal dinner for us and contributed to the decorations at the wedding reception. Everything was just stunning. As an extremely Type A person, I was able to rest assured everything would be taken care of and it truly was!
