My business with AMG started in August of last year. at the time was only a chip in the window from a drive back home from the coast. First was the call to the center, which, if I recall correctly, was very smooth, and I felt i was being told upfront about all the details regarding the window repair. I was told at the time that If I was not satisfied at any time after the repair, that I could credit the amount of the repair towards a cost of a new window, installed, and then I was told that the price for said window was "locked in". The tech came out, Ben, and within 30 minutes, repaired the chip, by filling in the hole so that it wouldnt spread. Fair enough. Flash forward 8 months, A few days ago after leaving a recreation area, I noticed a thin crack creeping up the bottom left side of the windshield. This had nothing to do with the chip, although one might argue that the total structural integrity of the window was compromised by not being 100%. I dug thru my receipts, and found Austin Mobile Glass's info. I was fully prepared to argue the point regarding the credit towards a new window, and because I didnt have anything in writing, I was fully prepared to be ran around the mill trying to get this done the way it was explained to me 8 months prior. However, within a few minutes of explaining why I had called and what I was trying to accomplish, I was already setting the appointment and paying what I thought I was gonna pay, actually it was $7 less than I thought. Norman, the "Boss", got on the phone to explain to me something about different brands of glass, but this wasn't some sales technique, he was genuinely concerned that I have full understanding about the quality of different glass manufacturers. The day of the repair, after talking to the tech on the phone prior to his arrival, the owner called again, this time to tell me that the part they picked up had some slight damages, and that they didnt want to install a faulty window, and that a different one will be picked up and installed the same day. Sure enough about an hour later, the tech showed up, installed my new windshield within 45 minutes or less. 6/18/18 Filed a claim with my bank last month and my money has been returned to me. If you want quality work, go see the guys at Auto Glass Solutions. They were extremely professional, efficient, and competitively priced. I'm still waiting for Norman to contact me so I can return his windshield to him. 5/23/18 Took my truck to get another windshield because Norman refuses to honor their "lifetime warranty". New business says this is the worst adhesive job they have seen and it's no wonder my windshield still leaks. I have added photos of the crap adhesive job. I have been dealing with this company for over a month with no resolution on their end. Consider this when choosing a mobile glass company. 4/12/2018 Austin Mobile Glass sent someone to replace my windshield about 4 weeks ago. It wasn't properly sealed and leaked during the rain we had recently. There was water all over the floor of my truck. Someone came back to fix it and they broke a piece of my trim. Now I can't get anyone to return my phone call. 5/17/18 They were supposed to come fix my trim yesterday but never showed up. Today they came and did a shoddy job fixing my trim. They will not return my phone call--they slowly reply to a text message. Has been an absolutely HORRIBLE company to work with. I requested that they send a different person out to do the repair. They were supposed to call before coming out. Instead, they probably sent the first person back out to fix it, because I never received a phone call. I wanted to talk to the person before they touched my truck again. But, no phone call. Ran through a car wash today 5/17/18, and big surprise, my windshield still leaks even after repair. Norman refuses to repair their shoddy job. So much for their "lifetime warranty".. I asked him to pay someone else to do if they can't. He still refuses. Won't speak to me or my husband on the phone. I wrote a review in order to receive money off my service, even though they did a horrible job on replacing my windshield and their response on my Facebook review: Changed our mind after the additional comments. We're refunding your money you can have someone with more a more competent staff install it properly. I came in here a couple of weeks ago to have a crack in my windshield repaired. The office is laid back and I came in during lunch. A few guys, a gal, and a dog were having a working lunch. After about 10 minutes, my windshield was repaired and looks great. Two weeks later, the only tale tale sign on a cracked windshield is a tiny spot that is only visible if you are looking for it. Had our SUV broken into while we were grabbing some ice cream near 71/S. Lamar. Sunset Valley officer came out and took the case, examined the vehicle and only noticed the glass was broken and our items were stolen. Called around to see who could come out the quickest and Austin Mobile called with a quote. Oswald, the technician, came to my office the same afternoon and repaired the glass. Told me it would take about 30 mins so I went back to work. Called when it was finished, he told me that I had a crack on the plastic frame on the outside (not the glass itself) of the window. Thinking it was odd, I called the Sunset Valley officer that worked the case and he explained he did not see any cracks on the outer window area and sent me pictures. Officer's pictures were hard to see, but I forwarded these along with the image my husband took prior to putting on a tarp on the vehicle. None had damage to the frame or rubber piece where the window is connected. This was yesterday...same day as the repair. So fast forward today. The owner, Norm Newsome, said he was going to meet me in person to talk, but instead of a candid conversation, he called me a "fraud" and said that I took a picture of another vehicle at a location and had my carseat and husband's jacket removed from my car to another exact same SUV to make it look like it was ours. Norm said our time stamp is wrong, but I don't know what to make of this experience. I think if I were to come away from anything is when it rain, it pours. I have always had good service in Austin and this is the first time I have been called names. Point being, take pictures before and after accidents. Wait while the technician works on your vehicle. Even then, you just never know. For us, the facts were, the officer tried to take finger prints of the vehicle after the incident, and didn't see any cracks or damage around the window frame. Just the damaged glass. After Austin Mobile Glass fixed the window, there was a crack and according to Norm, damage to the rubber part. We had pictures. Could it be possible that the technician damaged the frame? IMHO, it's not even that big of a crack, all we wanted was him to help fix it. Go with Safelite Auto Glass. Was texted by a gentleman named Jack in response to a call I had put in. At first, he seemed very eager to help. After receiving a quote from him that was $100 higher than 3 other quotes I had gotten for a passenger window, I told him thank you but I wouldn't be moving forward with them. I received a replacement windshield in late September after a rock cracked the original. The techs came out and we fast and professional, the receptionist who booked the appointment was very pleasant. The replacement leaked on the driver's side from the top and on the passenger side under the glovebox. Austin Mobile Glass (AMG) sent their tech out again who splashed it with hose water but couldn't recreate the leak so nothing was done and my concerns were ignored. Communication from AMG ceased at this point. I moved to South Carolina in late October where a storm made an even bigger pool of water on the passenger side. I called AMG, left a voicemail and a text message about the leak - no one return my call or text. I filed a claim with my insurance company and had to get the windshield reapplied at a place in South Carolina where did an air test and confirmed the leak points on the driver and passenger side. They took the windshield off and showed that the job by AMG was so poor that had I been in an accident the windshield would have popped out had the airbags deployed rendering the airbags useless. After a conversation with AMG my insurance company informed me that AMG refused to acknowledge the botch job and because I had it replaced elsewhere their warranty was voided. I filed a claim with the BBB which AMG refused to communicate with anyone and am currently out $500+ for what should have been a $280 job. Go elsewhere. read more

Quick and painless experience. I went with AMG because they were cheaper than Safelite for a new windshield for my Audi. Kristen was easy to work with by phone and by text. They were able to dispatch someone to my house same day, and Dave the installer was gracious and efficient and finished the job within the hour as quoted. The windshield installation looks to be perfect so far - I'll follow up if there are any issues but as it stands now, they were easy to work with, quick with retuning a fair quote on their work, and the installer was professional and courteous - can't ask for much more. We were very happy with the level of service provided by AMG. I had called another place initially, set up an appointment and waited. And waited. No show. No call. No nothing. I was tempted to call the place and ask where they were, but I figured any place that didn't even call to tell me they were late/not showing up probably wasn't going to do a good job anyway. So I looked up alternatives, and found Austin Mobile Glass quite near my house. I spoke with Kevin, who was friendly and polite and set up an appointment for late that afternoon. Bonus, only gonna lose one day! About an hour later, Kevin calls me and asks if i wanted them to come earlier because they had a cancellation. Double bonus! The technician Robert shows up right on time, and after a few moments confirming everything gets started on the job. It didn't take long, and when finished, we spoke about how best to let it "cure" and take care of it. Wham, bam, thank you man. Robert was professional, competent and actually a pretty funny guy. I was so impressed I wrote a note and sent it to the company contact email. It's been almost 3 weeks since the service, and the new windshield is perfect. I have no idea if they are good or not. My issue has to do with how they answer the phone. I called to get a quote and the woman was "Uhhh Hello Mobile Glass" in the most annoyed way. I was put on hold for a really long time, and then got a very dispassionate quote. If I could give zero stars, I would. I had my windshield replaced on Friday, preceding the Memorial Day weekend. That evening, when I drove for the first time, it was making a terrible noise. I turned around, drove home, parked the car in the garage, after noticing the black seal was hanging out of the edge of the window. Basically I did not have my car for the entire weekend for fear of making things worse. Also, the rubber seal that goes underneath the glass is visible, being pinched, underneath, from the inside of the vehicle. I called Mobile Glass this morning (Tuesday - ASAP) to have them come fix it and was told (long story short) that since I was being rude (after being questioned by two different people, extensively), they were not going to help me and she (the manager) promptly hung up on me. I have now filled a grievance with my credit card company. I am having another third party take a look at the shoddy work and then, after it's documented, they will take the money back from the company. THANK GOD, I paid by credit card and not check. Worst company, I have ever dealt with. And I've had this windshield replaced several times. Never had this kind of experience. Save yourself some serious frustration. I think you get what you pay for with Mobile Glass. Pro's: The guys that did the install were nice enough and did a good job on the install. They communicated pretty well and got the job done. Con's: They left the windshield dirty and there were small shards of glass still on the dash. Side note: With Safelite, you get a guy in a uniform and a company truck that comes to your place and does the work. You will also pay double the cost. These installers were not dressed professionally, there was nothing to denote they had a company on their truck, and if I met them in the street, I would think they are ex-con's. Personally, I don't care and even if they were, good for them as they seem to have found a lucrative job and they did a good job. So, take that with a grain of salt. read more

I had my back windshield on my Expedition broken out during the week by some rebel kiddos.. It happened first thing in the morning before i went to work. I called Austin Mobile Glass around 9:45am in the morning. I spoke with Norman, who was excellent, not only was the customer service great, but they were the best price in town!! I called 5 other places, including the big company's, and Austin Mobile Glass beat them all in price. They were here by 2pm the same day and replaced the back window. Do not go to regular auto repair shops for broken car windows, they'll all Overcharge you, it's just their nature Thank the gods this place exists, though. It sucks when one of yer power windows break: Who can fix it? You don't wanna drive around in the cold with a downed window. Can someone come to me & fix it? What will it cost? Don't worry, just call (512) 983-4527 for this place & you'll be alright. Okay, so their main thing is being a mobile service that fixes glass chips & cracks on yer car windows, but they can also Fix Broken Power Windows! So I call 'em up & this helpful guy tells me about Power Window Regulators & suggests I get one from AutoZone ( mine was $119 after tax, it's all based on make & model). He even told me how it costs $130 to come out out & fix it, but how it would only be $99 if the Regulator might not be needed ( sadly, my old Regulator Was Broken ). Unfortunately it wasn't until 2pm till I got it & when I called back he did apologize that they couldn't get anyone out that afternoon, so I set an appointment for the next day: sometime between 8am - 1pm. A technician named Esparza called around 10am & apologized for running late: He didn't have to, I understand the whole sometime between 8am & 1pm thing, but it's thoughtful that he felt the need to do that. He came, He fixed it fast & professionally & answered my dumb questions about what was wrong & what might have caused it to break ( the car is 10 years old, duh & the driver side one broke a long time ago ). I had my windshield on my 2017 Rav4 hybrid cracked by a rock flying out of a truck on 183. I called Austin Mobile Glass and was helped by a very friendly and professional man who gave me a quote and no pressure to commit right away. I went on a road trip this weekend and as soon as we arrived to our destination city, a rock flew up and chipped my windshield. I called Austin Mobile Glass and scheduled a repair for Monday. I decided to go with an entire windshield replacement. During my call with them, I was offered a $20 discount for posting feedback in social media, $30 discount if the feedback included an image. I was told Yelp was ok as long as I had enough reviews to make it visible. After I hung up, I realized how desperate it sounded to be offered discounts for feedback. Via text, I told them I had selected a different company because they were giving discounts for reviews, and that I thought it was a bad idea. By the time they were done trying to replace my windshield for the third time due to troubles they had since the get go I ended up having to get another company to give me a new glass, recalibrate my rain sensor for the wipers and a whole new leather dashboard from my dealership due to damage Mobile Glass caused. Lets just say that having Mobile Glass come to my house to replace my windshield from rock damage it literally costed me no less than $3K by the time it was all said and done. I got the bait and switch and they upcharged me to what they called OEM glass because I had a luxury vehicle. I trusted them and said go ahead with the install even though the price was much higher then expected. After the install I looked at the glass and I don't believe it is OEM glass. Additionally I called the Porsche dealership and they quoted me a price actually a little bit lower. Shame on me for not doing my homework and not shopping around. Turns out I had to write a review first. It's kind of extortion. Also, I noticed the windshield itself cost over $100 less than I was charged, a mark up of 50%+. Austin Mobile Glass is great, my car was broken into today which is already frustrating in itself, I called and wanted to get a quote for replacement, they had the most affordable rate, although I didn't end up scheduling right after the quote I called back later and I was immediately transferred back to the agent helping me. We called several places and these guys came in at a comparable price but said they could get it done the same day and would come to my house. Sounded great - but of course gave us a huge window of time I needed to be home. When the guys finally came they took out the old broken windshield and put in another broken one! They told me I'd have to wait 3 days for some reason before they could then come back and put in a new one that wasn't broken. 3 days have gone by - no word from them (left a message on their answering machine and on the nation wide group's answering machine they belong to). I still have a broken windshield - but they took my money up front so I'm out the money. If I'd known it was going to take this long I would've gone with one of the other companies in town! read more
