6/18/18 Filed a claim with my bank last month and my money has been returned to me. If you want quality work, go see the guys at Auto Glass Solutions. They were extremely professional, efficient, and competitively priced. I'm still waiting for Norman to contact me so I can return his windshield to him. 5/23/18 Took my truck to get another windshield because Norman refuses to honor their "lifetime warranty". New business says this is the worst adhesive job they have seen and it's no wonder my windshield still leaks. I have added photos of the crap adhesive job. I have been dealing with this company for over a month with no resolution on their end. Consider this when choosing a mobile glass company. 4/12/2018 Austin Mobile Glass sent someone to replace my windshield about 4 weeks ago. It wasn't properly sealed and leaked during the rain we had recently. There was water all over the floor of my truck. Someone came back to fix it and they broke a piece of my trim. Now I can't get anyone to return my phone call. 5/17/18 They were supposed to come fix my trim yesterday but never showed up. Today they came and did a shoddy job fixing my trim. They will not return my phone call--they slowly reply to a text message. Has been an absolutely HORRIBLE company to work with. I requested that they send a different person out to do the repair. They were supposed to call before coming out. Instead, they probably sent the first person back out to fix it, because I never received a phone call. I wanted to talk to the person before they touched my truck again. But, no phone call. Ran through a car wash today 5/17/18, and big surprise, my windshield still leaks even after repair. Norman refuses to repair their shoddy job. So much for their "lifetime warranty".. I asked him to pay someone else to do if they can't. He still refuses. Won't speak to me or my husband on the phone. Please take your business elsewhere. I wish zero stars was an option!!! Beware, this fella also offers bribes for positive reviews. Scroll through all the one star reviews and you will see. They have 7 BBB complaints that they have not responded to and have an F rating. ***a coworker saw someone working on my truck and it was indeed the SAME PERSON that broke the trim in the first place. Even after specifically asking for someone else. read more

This business is extremely unprofessional. I wrote a review in order to receive money off my service, even though they did a horrible job on replacing my windshield and their response on my Facebook review: Changed our mind after the additional comments. We're refunding your money you can have someone with more a more competent staff install it properly. So, I went to Safelite Auto Glass and they fixed the problem by replacing the entire windshield over again. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time/money with Austin Mobile Glass and go to Safelite from the get go. read more

I came in here a couple of weeks ago to have a crack in my windshield repaired. The office is laid back and I came in during lunch. A few guys, a gal, and a dog were having a working lunch. After about 10 minutes, my windshield was repaired and looks great. Two weeks later, the only tale tale sign on a cracked windshield is a tiny spot that is only visible if you are looking for it. I appreciate that they are very upfront with what they can repair and what the results will be. Scheduling was a breeze and they did a good job. read more

Had our SUV broken into while we were grabbing some ice cream near 71/S. Lamar. Sunset Valley officer came out and took the case, examined the vehicle and only noticed the glass was broken and our items were stolen. Called around to see who could come out the quickest and Austin Mobile called with a quote. Oswald, the technician, came to my office the same afternoon and repaired the glass. Told me it would take about 30 mins so I went back to work. Called when it was finished, he told me that I had a crack on the plastic frame on the outside (not the glass itself) of the window. Thinking it was odd, I called the Sunset Valley officer that worked the case and he explained he did not see any cracks on the outer window area and sent me pictures. Officer's pictures were hard to see, but I forwarded these along with the image my husband took prior to putting on a tarp on the vehicle. None had damage to the frame or rubber piece where the window is connected. This was yesterday...same day as the repair. So fast forward today. The owner, Norm Newsome, said he was going to meet me in person to talk, but instead of a candid conversation, he called me a "fraud" and said that I took a picture of another vehicle at a location and had my carseat and husband's jacket removed from my car to another exact same SUV to make it look like it was ours. Norm said our time stamp is wrong, but I don't know what to make of this experience. I think if I were to come away from anything is when it rain, it pours. I have always had good service in Austin and this is the first time I have been called names. Point being, take pictures before and after accidents. Wait while the technician works on your vehicle. Even then, you just never know. For us, the facts were, the officer tried to take finger prints of the vehicle after the incident, and didn't see any cracks or damage around the window frame. Just the damaged glass. After Austin Mobile Glass fixed the window, there was a crack and according to Norm, damage to the rubber part. We had pictures. Could it be possible that the technician damaged the frame? IMHO, it's not even that big of a crack, all we wanted was him to help fix it. Go with Safelite Auto Glass. They probably would not call you a "fraud" and tell you that "the truth is between you and God." read more

I cannot express how happy I am with my service! The windshield was cracked from the drivers side so I needed it done ASAP. I contacted Austin Mobile Glass, and they had my quote within a few minutes, and my windshield replaced the very next day. I am so appreciative and will recommend to everyone to please go through them! read more

Was texted by a gentleman named Jack in response to a call I had put in. At first, he seemed very eager to help. After receiving a quote from him that was $100 higher than 3 other quotes I had gotten for a passenger window, I told him thank you but I wouldn't be moving forward with them. He then proceeded to respond like a sarcastic, condescending teenager who didn't get their way. Talk about a lack of professionalism... Price was too high and the customer service is atrocious. Too bad I can't give less than 1 star. Jack?! More like Jackass. read more

I don't know if I can keep this clean for the kids, because this company seriously ROCKS BALLS!!! They are local, they are honest, they are BEYOND friendly, and they are absolute proof that YELP WORKS! I was contacted (via Yelp) about 8 months ago by ANDREW, who saw that I had a couple ROTD's under my YelpBelt and offered to replace my winshield for FREE. Naturally...I didn't believe him, which was compounded by the fact that I didn't need a winshield. But I challenged him to prove he was not a bot, and he graciously confessed to existing and thanked me for even taking the time to look into the company. Well...time passes and bada boom bada DING, I need a winshield. ****WARNING****** I pop the words "Austin Mobile" into the Yelp search engine and you will come up with a similar company who just added the word "Winshield" in their name. The person who answers is FOUL. He has a TMI-level of disdain for this company and in my opinion...it's unethical to speak to customers about competitors in that fashion. This Austin Mobile has a lovely, and upbeat Miss JESSICA who will direct you to ANDREW who conducts appointments like a dream. They not only sent a pro like ESPARZA who completely worked within my oddball MomTourage schedule, but did not hesitate to give very sound advice for how to deal with the heat aspect of wear & tear, which totally matters in Texas! Done in less than an hour. In this day & age, we're all making darn sure that we are getting serviced 100% for our buck. Yelp proves that a customer-centric focus does make a difference. Everyone should thank ANDREW and AUSTIN MOBILE GLASS, because this female, Asian driver can see all of you clearly now. But when you see me I'll be smiling since they treated me like the true YelpPrincess that I feel I am. read more

I received a replacement windshield in late September after a rock cracked the original. The techs came out and we fast and professional, the receptionist who booked the appointment was very pleasant. The replacement leaked on the driver's side from the top and on the passenger side under the glovebox. Austin Mobile Glass (AMG) sent their tech out again who splashed it with hose water but couldn't recreate the leak so nothing was done and my concerns were ignored. Communication from AMG ceased at this point. I moved to South Carolina in late October where a storm made an even bigger pool of water on the passenger side. I called AMG, left a voicemail and a text message about the leak - no one return my call or text. I filed a claim with my insurance company and had to get the windshield reapplied at a place in South Carolina where did an air test and confirmed the leak points on the driver and passenger side. They took the windshield off and showed that the job by AMG was so poor that had I been in an accident the windshield would have popped out had the airbags deployed rendering the airbags useless. After a conversation with AMG my insurance company informed me that AMG refused to acknowledge the botch job and because I had it replaced elsewhere their warranty was voided. I filed a claim with the BBB which AMG refused to communicate with anyone and am currently out $500+ for what should have been a $280 job. Go elsewhere. read more

Horrible customer service, asked for a discount and instead of just a simple no; the rep spent the next 10 mins berating me telling me how I should not be driving a luxury vehicle if I can't afford it. Would not recommend. read more

We were very happy with the level of service provided by AMG. I had called another place initially, set up an appointment and waited. And waited. No show. No call. No nothing. I was tempted to call the place and ask where they were, but I figured any place that didn't even call to tell me they were late/not showing up probably wasn't going to do a good job anyway. So I looked up alternatives, and found Austin Mobile Glass quite near my house. I spoke with Kevin, who was friendly and polite and set up an appointment for late that afternoon. Bonus, only gonna lose one day! About an hour later, Kevin calls me and asks if i wanted them to come earlier because they had a cancellation. Double bonus! The technician Robert shows up right on time, and after a few moments confirming everything gets started on the job. It didn't take long, and when finished, we spoke about how best to let it "cure" and take care of it. Wham, bam, thank you man. Robert was professional, competent and actually a pretty funny guy. I was so impressed I wrote a note and sent it to the company contact email. It's been almost 3 weeks since the service, and the new windshield is perfect. No leaks, not even with the torrential rains, and he was able to save the tolltag and inspection/registration stickers. Great work, solid service ethic, and reasonable price. Can't beat that. read more

I have no idea if they are good or not. My issue has to do with how they answer the phone. I called to get a quote and the woman was "Uhhh Hello Mobile Glass" in the most annoyed way. I was put on hold for a really long time, and then got a very dispassionate quote. It was a fair quote, but it was delivered with all the love of a 15 year old saying "Would you like fries with that?" I'm sure they do great work. They have fabulous reviews. But for me, if the person answering the phone cannot be bothered to care, why should I? read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I had my windshield replaced on Friday, preceding the Memorial Day weekend. That evening, when I drove for the first time, it was making a terrible noise. I turned around, drove home, parked the car in the garage, after noticing the black seal was hanging out of the edge of the window. Basically I did not have my car for the entire weekend for fear of making things worse. Also, the rubber seal that goes underneath the glass is visible, being pinched, underneath, from the inside of the vehicle. I called Mobile Glass this morning (Tuesday - ASAP) to have them come fix it and was told (long story short) that since I was being rude (after being questioned by two different people, extensively), they were not going to help me and she (the manager) promptly hung up on me. I have now filled a grievance with my credit card company. I am having another third party take a look at the shoddy work and then, after it's documented, they will take the money back from the company. THANK GOD, I paid by credit card and not check. Worst company, I have ever dealt with. And I've had this windshield replaced several times. Never had this kind of experience. Save yourself some serious frustration. Reputable companies fix their mistakes, no matter how they perceive the customer's attitude. BAD business. read more

Quick and painless experience. I went with AMG because they were cheaper than Safelite for a new windshield for my Audi. Kristen was easy to work with by phone and by text. They were able to dispatch someone to my house same day, and Dave the installer was gracious and efficient and finished the job within the hour as quoted. The windshield installation looks to be perfect so far - I'll follow up if there are any issues but as it stands now, they were easy to work with, quick with retuning a fair quote on their work, and the installer was professional and courteous - can't ask for much more. Thanks AMG. read more

I love Austin, and I love the people who live here. I trust them. So sometimes, like an idiot, I leave my purse sitting in plain site in my unattended car. Fellow Austinites, even if you love your city and its inhabitants as much as I do, please learn from my naivete. Last Thursday some people (let's hope and presume they were out-of-towners) bashed in my window and stole my purse. They were probably really bummed out that my nice looking purse actually cost around $38. They were also probably bummed out that all to be found inside was less than a dollar in change and a bunch of letters waiting to be mailed to friends. They might be enjoying my new tube of Yves Saint Laurent lipstick. Maybe that shade of pink really brings out their rosy cheeks. I returned to my car (parked near Rainey street) to find a real mess. Glass everywhere. I spent the rest of the night and the next morning in denial. Once I decided to face reality, I called around to find a place to put in a new window. It was late Friday afternoon, and I found some decent prices, but no one was willing to help me out over the weekend. After many failed attempts at procuring some timely assistance, I considered googling window installation to see if I could just do it myself. One thing you should know about me, dear Yelp review readers, is that I am probably the last person on earth who could ever be capable of installing a window. Then I found Austin Mobile Glass. Good ole Norman picked up the phone. Their customer service? On point. I was experiencing a fair amount of distress, but they managed to make me laugh on the phone and lightened my mood a bit. Who knew window repair negotiation could be so fun. Their knowledge-ability? Totally impressive. I learned fun facts on the phone. Did you know the most common window for thieves to break is the front passenger window? Neither did I. Their prices? Super competitive. I have a lot of college loans to pay off. I don't have time for high prices. Most of all..they were willing to come to my house Saturday morning. The process was totally painless. I sipped coffee in my pajamas while they fixed up my violated vehicle. I hadn't even finished my cup of coffee before those speed demons had taken care of business. How grateful I am to you, Austin Mobile Glass. Thanks for being you. I'll make sure you to ring you up again next time some out-of-towners decide they want my cheap purse and pink lipstick. read more

I think you get what you pay for with Mobile Glass. Pro's: The guys that did the install were nice enough and did a good job on the install. They communicated pretty well and got the job done. Con's: They left the windshield dirty and there were small shards of glass still on the dash. Side note: With Safelite, you get a guy in a uniform and a company truck that comes to your place and does the work. You will also pay double the cost. These installers were not dressed professionally, there was nothing to denote they had a company on their truck, and if I met them in the street, I would think they are ex-con's. Personally, I don't care and even if they were, good for them as they seem to have found a lucrative job and they did a good job. So, take that with a grain of salt. read more

Do not go to regular auto repair shops for broken car windows, they'll all Overcharge you, it's just their nature Thank the gods this place exists, though. It sucks when one of yer power windows break: Who can fix it? You don't wanna drive around in the cold with a downed window. Can someone come to me & fix it? What will it cost? Don't worry, just call (512) 983-4527 for this place & you'll be alright. Okay, so their main thing is being a mobile service that fixes glass chips & cracks on yer car windows, but they can also Fix Broken Power Windows! So I call 'em up & this helpful guy tells me about Power Window Regulators & suggests I get one from AutoZone ( mine was $119 after tax, it's all based on make & model). He even told me how it costs $130 to come out out & fix it, but how it would only be $99 if the Regulator might not be needed ( sadly, my old Regulator Was Broken ). Unfortunately it wasn't until 2pm till I got it & when I called back he did apologize that they couldn't get anyone out that afternoon, so I set an appointment for the next day: sometime between 8am - 1pm. A technician named Esparza called around 10am & apologized for running late: He didn't have to, I understand the whole sometime between 8am & 1pm thing, but it's thoughtful that he felt the need to do that. He came, He fixed it fast & professionally & answered my dumb questions about what was wrong & what might have caused it to break ( the car is 10 years old, duh & the driver side one broke a long time ago ). If yer car's power window is broke & you need someone to come fix it - Call Austin's Mobile GlassThank-You Esparza, Thank-You Austin/Mobile Glass. read more

I was having a terrible, awful, very bad day - I awoke to find my car window had been bashed in during the night and glass was everywhere. It was all over the interior of my car, on the driveway, even on the lawn. I have no idea why someone would do that - nothing was taken from my car. My insurance company referred me to a national company - they couldn't get out to replace my window until the next afternoon. I called Austin Mobile Glass and they were here within a few hours. They were also considerably less expensive than the quote I'd received from "Big, Nationwide Company." They were courteous, professional and honest. They cleaned all the glass and had my window repaired in no time. Thanks to Austin Mobil Glass, my car was fixed and my mood improved considerably ! read more

I had my windshield on my 2017 Rav4 hybrid cracked by a rock flying out of a truck on 183. It was scheduled for Wednesday morning, but the day before Kristen called and asked if afternoon would be ok because it was suppose to rain all morning. Walter was the technician who came out to replace my windshield and he was very professional and friendly. He called when he was 20 minutes away from my work in east Austin, and had the windshield replaced in 45 minutes. He gave me instructions to not break to hard for the next day and to take it through a car wash in 3 days and call if there are any leaks or problems. I went on a road trip this weekend and as soon as we arrived to our destination city, a rock flew up and chipped my windshield. I called Austin Mobile Glass and scheduled a repair for Monday. They were courteous and friendly, and scheduling the appointment was easy. The very next day, another rock flew and chipped the windshield. This time the crack spread across half the windshield! I decided to go with an entire windshield replacement. I was in a hurry because I had to attend a wedding, but Kristen was able to change my appointment from a repair to a replacement, and she ordered the new windshield for the car. On Monday afternoon, the tech came right when we had scheduled. He was very courteous and replaced the windshield in under an hour. He was even able to transfer both my TxTag and registration sticker. I'm definitely pleased with my experience with Austin Mobile Glass! read more

My business with AMG started in August of last year. at the time was only a chip in the window from a drive back home from the coast. First was the call to the center, which, if I recall correctly, was very smooth, and I felt i was being told upfront about all the details regarding the window repair. I was told at the time that If I was not satisfied at any time after the repair, that I could credit the amount of the repair towards a cost of a new window, installed, and then I was told that the price for said window was "locked in". The tech came out, Ben, and within 30 minutes, repaired the chip, by filling in the hole so that it wouldnt spread. Fair enough. Flash forward 8 months, A few days ago after leaving a recreation area, I noticed a thin crack creeping up the bottom left side of the windshield. This had nothing to do with the chip, although one might argue that the total structural integrity of the window was compromised by not being 100%. I dug thru my receipts, and found Austin Mobile Glass's info. I was fully prepared to argue the point regarding the credit towards a new window, and because I didnt have anything in writing, I was fully prepared to be ran around the mill trying to get this done the way it was explained to me 8 months prior. However, within a few minutes of explaining why I had called and what I was trying to accomplish, I was already setting the appointment and paying what I thought I was gonna pay, actually it was $7 less than I thought. Norman, the "Boss", got on the phone to explain to me something about different brands of glass, but this wasn't some sales technique, he was genuinely concerned that I have full understanding about the quality of different glass manufacturers. The day of the repair, after talking to the tech on the phone prior to his arrival, the owner called again, this time to tell me that the part they picked up had some slight damages, and that they didnt want to install a faulty window, and that a different one will be picked up and installed the same day. Sure enough about an hour later, the tech showed up, installed my new windshield within 45 minutes or less. Overall, great Company that stands behind its promise and people who seem to really care what the customer thinks. Great JOB Austin Mobile Glass!!!! read more

During my call with them, I was offered a $20 discount for posting feedback in social media, $30 discount if the feedback included an image. I was told Yelp was ok as long as I had enough reviews to make it visible. After I hung up, I realized how desperate it sounded to be offered discounts for feedback. Via text, I told them I had selected a different company because they were giving discounts for reviews, and that I thought it was a bad idea. Norman, the owner, argued with me via text about what a review vs feedback was. He was more interested in arguing semantics than listening to a shopper's perspective. Norman called me partner, idiot and dumb. Very unprofessional. I thought a company would appreciate honest feedback as to why they were not given my business. read more

We called several places and these guys came in at a comparable price but said they could get it done the same day and would come to my house. They told me I'd have to wait 3 days for some reason before they could then come back and put in a new one that wasn't broken. 3 days have gone by - no word from them (left a message on their answering machine and on the nation wide group's answering machine they belong to).
