I described what I was looking for and got a reasonable quote. For the quote, I got several levels with many different options. It was nice to see everything from the "budget - get it done" level up to "do everything" level. They also let me know about the many different services they provide. They were hired by the homeowner on my property line to do some tree trimming. The owner owns the…read moreproperty and rents it to some tenants that I do not know. I noticed that they had completely topped the tree in his front yard and I assumed that they were completely taking the tree out however, they left the trunk of the tree standing without a canopy. I went back to work before noticing them doing the same to a tree in the backyard. I stopped the workers and asked what they were doing and why? They pretended not hear me or understand my questions and continued working. I contacted the homeowner asking if he was aware that the contractor was completely topping his trees. He stated that they had been hired to clear the undergrowth however, they notified him that the tree was split down the middle and needed to be addressed. He does not live in the area and authorized them to do what was necessary to address the problem. It appears that he is being taken for a ride since the solution to a cracked limb is not to completely top the canopy of two different trees. To be clear I did not request these services however, the homeowner did not request the services that were delivered. Munoz Tree Service is taking advantage of his geographic separation from the property to perform additional unneeded work that is ultimately going to kill these trees. Furthermore, it is clear they do not have any skills or training is best practices for tree trimming as topping a trees canopy is not recommended as a technique for tree trimming. Buyer beware.

We "interviewed" a few landscaping companies before making our selection. I found The Works from NextDoor and had David, the owner, come out to talk through what we wanted. He provided guidance, options, gave us reasons to do or not on some of the things we wanted to and was just overall patient and professional. He created a photo mock-up of what the stonework (landscaping bed) would look like and sent it to us for reference. He probably came to our house 4x before they even started and didn't charge a penny until the job was near done. His crew was professional and respectful and didn't leave any trash or debris behind. They came when they said and finished when they were supposed to. We have old brick and our HOA wouldn't approve anything that didn't match. David spent so much time finding and matching brick and stone for us and the end result looks wonderful. We are so happy we went with The Works! He fixed the sprinklers that were effected by the digging in minutes as well. The flower beds are amazing the David picked out the plants personally and placed them where they would do best, either in the shade, partial sun, full sun, etc. He put my Christmas lights up and I love, love love!!! Warm white really looks great at night and he used the really good old fashion light bulbs, not the cheap string lights. David can envision how to make your exterior look amazing. Issue was many had "widow-makers" and other dead limbs, as well as lots of shrubby trees and vines in the lower areas. All in all, it was almost 20 acres with predominately live oaks and cedar elms that needed significant trimming (never had been trimmed before), and clearing below. They did an amazing job for the money. The best part, they were a turnkey solution. They trimmed, painted a protective coating on the trim locations, and hauled everything off in trailers. They trimmed two live oak in my front yard that had branches nearly touching the ground in spots, and two ash in my back yard that were very sad looking trees.
