Nick is a legend, so stay awhile and listen: When we got Zuko in May of 2024, despite being a sweetheart, he was an absolute menace. He'd steal stuff from our countertops when we weren't looking, he'd jump ontop of counters, knock over our trash cans do dig through it and was next to impossible to walk from chasing other dogs to small animals. You know, all the stuff a stray dog trying to survive might do. We really wanted to make it work but were feeling like nothing we'd do would help get him in shape. Hopeless, we thankfully came across Full Spectrum Canine and signed up for the 3 week training program + boarding. Not only did we see immediate results after the 1st week checkin, but Nick's communication and updates were both informative and fun. Plus Zuko clearly LOVED and had a great relationship with him, which meant a lot. Both my wife and I feel fully capable of training Zuko and we see Nick as an invaluable resource we can continue to leverage - especially when we get our next pup trained with Full Spectrum Canine! Our Doberman just finished his puppy immersion programme and is already more calm, less reactive and has impulse control. We have built a stronger bond with our pup because of the training with Nick and cannot wait to see how far she can go. She loves having a job to do, and now we know what we can redirect her to. Nick trains you just as much as he trains your dog so that everything becomes easy and you feel confident keeping the training going. We plan to do his adult programmes when Sass is a bit older and ready for them. Cannot recommend him enough!

Fortunatley he healed well after two weeks of dedicated TLC but the trauma of the experience remained with both him and me well after Ryder physically healed. I reached out to Matt for virtual dog training appointments to help us through that, and his guidance and great wisdom around dog psychology and behavior and deep empathy for Ryder and in general made such a huge impact. I learned from Matt how to help Ryder through his fear and trauma and how to recognize when he was experiencing trauma (for example, he developed a new and strong fear of rumbling engines). By applying Matt's empathetic practices, Ryder has become much less fearful, is no longer afraid of rumbling engines or playing with other dogs and he's back to his old happy, playful, super enthusiastic and friendly self!! :) Matt also greatly helped my dog Ellie through the excessive anxiety that resulted from my marital separation and helped us learn what an impact the breaking of that social bond had on her and how to address it! I was unable to fly with him over the Christmas break, so I made sure to reserve him a spot to board. In prep, I dropped him off for day camp so I could get a feel for the place and he could get used to the staff and the smells. After the day camps and whenever I checked in during his week stay, I wanted to know how he was doing. He's a puppy, so the way he's socializing and his schedule for feeding and potty times are super important to me. Every time I asked, it was so vague. "He's doing great!", but no one seemed to know anything specific until I really pressed for information. And I heard different information from each staff member. My real issue is here: When we picked him up from a week stay, the owner/groomer met us outside to talk about his health. She claimed to be a vet tech for many years, and was concerned about his weight. She made us feel guilty about his grooming and how skinny he was (again, he's a large breed puppy) and recommended adding tuna to his diet. We felt so awful that we immediately took her advice. DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG TUNA. it's filled with mercury. After less than two cans, my dog now has an infection and constant diarrhea almost two weeks later. He picked up an infection (either from the tuna or the place) and is now on antibiotics. Now, I should have absolutely done my research as a "parent." But to claim to be a medical professional and guilt us into making incredibly unhealthy choices for our puppy, makes me so angry and upset. We won't be going back.

We've boarded our dog there a few times. The last time we boarded our dog there they lost both her harness and her food. I only got it back after calling and following up and insisting that I left plenty of food (I always leave a full bag). They suddenly found both her harness and food. I brushed it off as an honest mistake, but after this visit I'm really unsure. I picked my dog up today and the employees came out and charged me, brought out her dry food, and then brought out my dog. As I was taking her to the other side of the truck the owners' dogs got out of their fence (the owners' house is next door to the pet resort) and ran after us. 3 of them were small dogs but one was a doberman (or something similiar looking) and was growling and snapping at us. I hurried and got my dog in the truck and stood there with her while the employees got the dogs back in the fence. I was obviously upset and wanted to speak with someone about what just happened. As I was waiting for one of the employees to call the owners I noticed a patch of missing fur from my dogs leg. No idea if it happened just then or if it was from earlier in the week but it definitely wasn't like that when I dropped her off. The employee had to call the owners twice. The first time he was asking them to come outside and it sounded like they hung up on him. I insisted I wanted to speak with someone and he called again and said they were coming. I had to ask him to grab my dog's canned food that they had forgotten while we were waiting for the owner. At this point I would have been completely happy with someone seeming like they cared even a little. You would think the OWNER of a pet boarding place would care about animals. She made absolutely no attempt at coming to see me or my dog and check on things. She was obviously very upset that she had to get up and come address a situation. When I told this woman about her dogs running after us she kept claiming they were in the fence. I tried explaining they were only in there because her employees put them back. I mentioned there was a patch of missing fur on my dog's leg and clarified that I don't know if it was from this incident or from earlier in the week and her only response was to ask "is she bleeding?" and follow up with "well there's nothing I can do then". You're the OWNER. There is plenty you can do. A simple apology would be a great start. Mostly I just kept getting her saying "I hope you have the day you deserve" since apparently my day should suck for interrupting her relaxing to speak with a customer. Now that we're home and looking more closely at our dog we see a missing patch of fur on her leg, her ID tag that we made for her is gone off of her collar, she has what looks like some kind of sore in her mouth, and she's scratching at her eyes a lot. We're going to get her checked out by a vet because we are not experts in dog healthcare, but we're concerned about several things we're seeing on her that definitely were not there when we dropped her off. All we can do at this moment is document everything and get a professional opinion. A few things are concerning to us here but honestly most of it would have been assumed to be stress on our dog being away from home if it hadn't been for the way the owner behaved. I am so baffled by the fact that the owner of a pet boarding company seems to not care at all about the pets or the customers for that matter. I'm trying to wrap my head around how someone can get paid to board others' pets and then have so little concern when their own get out and run after a customer and their pet. Who do you want watching your fur babies? Someone that cares deeply for animals or someone that cares deeply for a paycheck? Edit: I disagree with quite a few of the 'facts' that Beverly responded with. I've sent her a message letting her know she's welcome to contact me if she wants to discuss my experience. I'll be happy to update my review afterwards but I'm not going to have a back and forth on the yelp page. For now, my experience with this business is listed above.

The owner does need to be diligent with taking their dog to the trainings (we kind of fell off at the end but it was okay) but as long as you stick with it, your dog will learn new skills and will be better behaved than before. We can do things in the front yard and have her stay in the garage and she won't run after other dogs that walk by or other other people or children. She has learned to stay in her place for as long as we need her to be. It's funny because she was a really wild dog before and now that she's trained everybody loves her. overall the training here was worth it and we are really happy that we did it!

We were very happy to have been cared for and by Dr. Bonnet and Dr. Dillon and their staff as they were always professional, honest, and sincere. Technicians were so thorough and communicative on every step they needed to take with our pet and her care. They were so kind to us at such precious moments and decisions. The transparency of cost and the estimated time for medicine/pickup that was communicated to us at the get was spot on. We had no delays or disappointments in the meticulous care Dr. Bonnet provided. Having a 20-year old senior cat can present challenges (besides her being a spicy/mean cat) and added stress for vet visits. Dr. Bonnet really cared for us and provided professional and honest opinions in determining care for Maybea. Scheduling appointments via the app and/or calling in to speak with staff was always friendly and kind. The waiting rooms and exam rooms were very welcoming for us and our cat when we came to visit for appointments. Parking is super easy and they have about 6 parking spots that are dedicated to any pet family coming in which we appreciated. Now as our kitty has passed on my partner and I promised each other that we will no doubt make Firehouse Westlake our center point for care with our next and new pet. Thank you to the entire pleasant, kind, and caring staff at Firehouse Westlake. We truly appreciate your kindness at one of the most challenging and difficult times in our lives around our pet's health. Thank you!

He is a very intelligent dog and generally very obedient unless there is a stranger or another dog nearby, in which case he would become completely uncontrollable. We had paid many positive reinforcement oriented trainers to help us out when he was younger and less aggressive, which helped establish the obedience but did little to curb the impulse control and aggression. He was manageable for the first 5 years or so, but as we had kids and they got older we prioritized working with him less and less and he regressed into a very bad state. Up until about 6 months ago the aggressive behavior had never been targeted towards our family, however we had an incident where he gave my son a warning bit on the hand. My son had reached out to grab his collar to try to bring him inside and he didn't want to go. The bite was definitely a warning and not intended to do damage, but still left a rather deep puncture wound and an even deeper relationship damage between the kids, my wife, and the dog. Our vet recommended euthanasia. We contacted numerous trainers who were either unwilling or incapable of working with him due to his age and the bite incident. We finally happened upon Daniel who was provided to us as a reference from one of the trainers who said no. Daniel was the breath of fresh air that we needed. After a brief consultation, he very calmly and clearly explained the root cause driving Tore's behavior, much of which was frankly on us, which we expected. He felt confident Tore could be rehabilitated and that he could teach us how to manage him long term. Daniel accepted Tore into his 6-week board & train program where he takes the dog M-F, gives him back for the weekend, then starts again on Monday. Throughout the program Daniel provided updates on progress and was always available for questions. While this was not an overnight magic wand, we noticed an immediate and significant difference from that very first weekend that Tore was back in the house. We are now wrapping up week 7, the first week after conclusion of the program, and Tore's presence in this house is a night and day difference. There are still hiccups (he is 8 after all), we've had the growling incidents when he doesn't want to comply, and he still gets worked up at strangers and expresses anxiety in certain situations, but the key is that it is now manageable, and we can get it to stop without having to throw him in a different room. Further, it gets more quickly managed with each passing day and incident where Tore is put to the test. Do not get me wrong, Daniel will not help you if you are not willing to put in the work, and it is a lot of work. Full Stop. But I firmly believe that this man can rehabilitate any dog if the owner holds themselves accountable to the structure of the program. I appreciated Daniel's communication style, once I opened the door for it our conversations took on a more casual tone that I enjoyed. I felt and continue to feel that Daniel truly cares about Tore and has a passion for what he does. He provided quite a few add-on services that most would have charged for and he didn't. For example, he helped us manage Tore for a vet visit to take a look at a potential leg injury (in-office vet visits were something I frankly didn't think would ever be possible for this dog). He also offers boarding services at a very reasonable rate for his clients which is a huge win for us (he's boarding Tore for us this weekend so we can go see family for Thanksgiving). Highly recommend Daniel's services...and bonus - you're supporting a veteran owned business if you hire him.
