Bellspurr Maine Coons

Bellspurr Maine Coons

Stone Oak

To everyone who was tricked by the good Google and Yelp reviews for Bellspurr like I was, make sure…read moreyou read the reviews for the previous name she's hiding from: https://www.yelp.com/biz/bellespurr-canyon-lake-2 I bought a 3 month old Maine Coon from Lucy Appel/Bellspurr Maine Coons at the end of January; not even two months later, he passed away from FIP after receiving intensive 24/7 care in the hospital. Upon learning about the poor care she's given her cats in the past from other owners/rescue workers, including knowingly selling a kitten that likely had FIP (and did, in the end) as well as a nasty case of tritrich, and seeing the horrific reviews on Yelp, I asked for a refund instead of another kitten. She refused a refund in any amount, saying that Tofu should've been treated a week ago-a tragic miscommunication on the part of his vet, in which he wrote that Tofu could have FIP in his medical notes from Tofu's last visit and neglected to inform me in person. Of course, part of the reason for this miscommunication was because she has put all her 30+ cats with multiple different owners now on the same wellness plan, where she is the primary plan owner. Communication will go out to her unless someone at the hospital explicitly knows otherwise. The medical records indicate that she is the one who received the email about Tofu's potential FIP. When receiving this email Lucy could have noted it was about Tofu in the subject line and forwarded it to me. Instead she probably just deleted it, as she denies receiving any email. Interestingly enough, Lucy had confided to me over the phone that she had had a kitten of her own die during FIP treatment and that it may have been caused by her own mismanagement of his medication-and now she was blaming me for "leaving [Tofu] without treatment to die a painful death" when I had just spent $3500 trying to save him in spite of a poor prognosis to survive. It was a sharp turn from the empathy she had shown me previously, because now that I had asked for a refund, keeping the money to herself was all that mattered to her. She was also now telling me that Tofu had never been sick, that he had always been the healthy one in the litter. After Tofu's passing, I asked for his SOAP records from the vet. She neglected to disclose to me that: - all her kittens, and her dog, had severe vomiting and diarrhea at one point and that my cat probably suffered the longest from it; fecal tests from a different kitten showed coccidia - my kitten had had continual issues with diarrhea and at one point there were worries about a potential prolapsed rectum - the cold she denied existing was discussed with the vet on the same day In the contract I signed, she promised to deliver him to me vaccinated, microchipped, and that if he died of a genital or congenital defect within 6 months she would replace him. There is no record of him being vaccinated prior, at the hospital or in the papers she gave me, and his medical history states that he was not healthy enough to receive them at the time. He was not microchipped. And based on the fact that she's had other cats with FIP, it's entirely possible that Tofu was genetically more likely to develop it. I'm incredibly heartbroken by the passing of my baby boy, and I feel incredibly betrayed by Lucy Appel, who I trusted to manage her cats with love and be honest with me. Do not buy a cat from her. She cares more about money than the cats. Update in response to Lucy: I don't know why Lucy thinks she has the right to request Tofu's medical history from his vet without my consent and then post it without even having the decency to blur out my personal information. I also don't know why she bothers lying about provable facts, because the record she posted clearly shows a difference between when I get an email vs when she does. I've already confirmed this fact with the vet and they have provably shown the email went to her address. For someone who purports to be sorry for my loss, she's very invested in ignoring all my claims against her to character assassinate me. She is, again, blaming me for the death of my cat, and also intentionally hiding the timestamps of the text messages to make me look worse. Here are the facts: Tofu was hospitalized late afternoon on Monday the 10th, I passed on an offer for unregulated black market medicine Tuesday morning the 11th, and Tofu passed later that afternoon on the 11th. Tofu's condition was so severe that he needed the medication immediately on Monday (unfortunately, the hospital can't keep a supply on hand) or ideally much earlier. In the text messages, Lucy plainly does not care who offered me the medication, what their medical background was, how old the medication was, whether it was scientifically vetted. This really does not bode well for the care she gives her cats. She also repeats her claim here that FIP is not congenital. Google "is FIP genetic" and you'll plainly see that genetics play a rule.

Lucy was absolutely amazing for getting my new kitten! After I submitted an application she reached…read moreout promptly and helped me confirm on which kittens were available and who I could take home. Throughout the entire process she was very sweet and thorough providing a list of the kittens food and general things to help them be more cozy. Lucy hand delivered Mr. Churro right to my local airport and I was able to pick him up and bring him home. He is an absolute sweetheart and very adorable. I've now had him for 3 months and he's only become cuter and sweeter Thank you Lucy for giving me the sweetest baby
