I'm ready to move to Aurora after this visit. A nice little winery just off of I-5. We comprised as it was a good meet in the middle place for the Portland/Salem folks. They had a nice menu and it was obvious on this day that the word was out on that as more people trickled in during the lunchtime rush. We did a couple of tastings with our burgers and enjoyed the ambiance of the waterfall, etc. I will be back to taste some more wine and have another meal here. read more

Absolutely amazing! Lori, our server, was spot-on with her wine and food recommendations. We purchased a bottle she mentioned was on sale by the case--and yes, we ended up buying the whole case! The hamburger sliders and chicken salad were delicious, and all of their house-made salad dressings were fantastic (the blue cheese was especially amazing). I also loved that they source locally. It's a lovely little gem winery right off Interstate 5. It has excellent outdoor seating, is dog-friendly, has live music, and has beautiful landscaping and a pond. It's more down-to-earth and not pretentious or stuffy. Jillian and Isaac are fantastic service leads. Highly recommend joining the wine club. The bistro menu is incredibly reasonable and pricing and so are the wine, glass pours and bottles. they have brunch on the weekends. Love this place and highly recommended. read more

Celebrated my husband's 70th birthday at Aurora Vineyards in Sept 2025. We were a party of 16 and had our gathering outside on their Patio (they also have a large indoor tasting room with seating). I had pre-ordered appetizers and food (to avoid any food prep delays), and everything was setup and ready for us upon arrival. Excellent food taste and presentation, and a beautiful venue with waterfall and gardens. I highly recommend the bistro sliders with fries -- Delicious! Favorite wines were the Viognier and Shiraz. One of our favorite local groups--Boat Drinks--provided the perfect music mix and our group raved about how great they were. Aurora Vineyards made throwing this party super easy for me and I felt their prices were very reasonable for our sized group. We arrived today just after opening at 12:00, greeted warmly by the staff. Ordered a couple glasses of wine, a pomegranate cider and can of lager, everyone enjoyed their drinks. We ordered the pretzel knots stuffed with pimento cheese, served with honey mustard and stone ground mustard, fantastic! Also ordered the charcuterie board, what a wonderful presentation, loaded with grapes, olives, multiple cheeses, meats and crackers. The baby dills were crispy and loaded with flavor. We also ordered the egg and cucumber salad, it's a "must have", suck delicate flavors, perfect on the pita chips and crackers they serve. The place itself is beautifully decorated inside the main house, but then we went out to the deck by the pond with fountain and waterfall, great venue to enjoy a bit to eat and libation. What an absolute GEM! I can not tell you how many times I passed this place and had no idea what I was missing. We were looking for a winery open later as my partner works Saturday and this place came up. It's pretty awesome that they are open until 8, especially in the summer when the days run long. We sat outside on the deck next to this gorgeous waterfall and pond. We ordered the flight and a little appetizer of mascapone spinach artichoke dip. The wine was amazing! My wife and I really enjoys this place. Some friends introduced us to Aurora and we immediately fell in love with it. What do we like about Aurora? Everything! Let start with the place itself. The tasting room is cozy and inviting and offers both indoor and outdoor (seasonal) seating. The patio has a waterfall that adds to the ambiance, in addition to an amphitheater for events. The wine. That's why we're here, right? Aurora has some fantastic wines that show both the winemakers talent and imagination. We've tried pretty much everything in the cellar and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend. I suggest the wine club so you have a steady supply of their best offerings. Aurora has a limited food menu, but not limited in flavor. Dave is a master at coming up with dishes that pair with the wine selection and add to the Aurora experience. It's also nice when the chef himself comes out to your table to see how your food is. He genuinely cares about what he puts in front of you. The service at Aurora is the jewel on their crown. Everyone is treated like old friends, and we've come to know many of the staff by name. Always busy, they're never too busy to stop and chat. I don't know of another place where I know all the senior staff by name. What a surprise this place was. The landscaping here is absolutely phenomenal--definitely not what one would expect just a stone's throw from the road. A wonderful water feature greets you as you drive in, and an even more impressive one is out behind the back deck by the tasting room. There's even a chapel onsite, but I would suggest being mindful of the road noise if you decide to get married here. Otherwise, it is a beautiful location. Very serene indeed. The Pinot Noirs were good for the most part, but their heavier reds are much better. The Tempranillo is great, and the 2008 Cab is fantastic (that's right, 2008), but it should be for the price. If you're in the area, stop by, but do so in nice weather so you can roam around outside, especially down by that wonderful water feature. read more

Spotted this cute roadside vineyard on our way to Aurora, just outside the city limits, and decided we were going to make a stop on our way out of town. We were asked if we had reservations, which we did not, but we were seated anyway to the best table on the deck (in my opinion), right next to the waterfall pond and fountain. The proprietors indicated an event might fill up all the outdoor tables, but this influx of patrons never quite manifested itself. Our host seemed inexperienced and a little flabbergasted with some of the basic operations (checking out and paying our bill, for example), and our server, whom I took to be one of the co-owners of the vineyard, was slightly on the pretentious side. We ordered the current seasonal flight, split a dark chocolate bar (from a local confectioner) and my wife ended up ordering a glass of the red blend (the last on the flight) to finish things off. Apparently only the first two wines on the list (the whites) were produced on-site; the rest were sourced from Walla Walla and other East-Cascade locations. These two were my favorites, so that speaks to the quality of the operation here. Each phase of the flight came a little slower than the one previous, but gave my wife and I plenty of time to enjoy each other's company without being constantly interrupted. Most of the wines were a bit too dry for my taste, but I was apparently in the minority. We spent an hour idling on the deck, roasting in the sun despite the umbrella overhead, sampling the vintages and enjoying our conversation. We were not brought water, when we were served wine for the wine tasting the waitress did not walk us though the different wines, just set them down and left. One of us was not drinking and ordered a soda, and they told her to go grab it herself rather than bringing it out. They gave us barley any wine for the wine tasting: to much money for so little wine. We were brought food but no napkins, and when we requested napkins they gave us three for five people. Stopped here on a rainy spring Saturday because I've been watching this venue develop for years and never made time to actually check it out. It's just as charming and beautiful from the inside as it is from the road. I treated myself to a red wine flight for a mere $5. After chatting with the friendly server, I purchased a bottle of Merlot for dinner with my family, and I was rewarded with a free tasting. This is essentially a wedding venue, and it's lovely. This place is absolutely beautiful and charming. They have a gorgeous grapevine gate and a new welcoming sign. The gigantic door invites one in with wonder. They still provide a few complimentary tastes or you can purchase a wine flight for $10 that comes with 8 generous pours. If you have the Oregon Wine Passport, the tasting is complimentary in 2018 for 2 people. The wine tasting room is large and decorated with rustic charm. I came back on Saturday during Labor Day and they had business, but it really wasn't that busy. They landscaped the back and put in a beautiful patio, man-made pond, and lots of tables to relax at. I absolutely loved the hanging baskets- they were gigantic. I love the sweet viognier. The reds are also very good. They also have really amazing food here. The pan roasted brussel sprouts are amazing. It is a great place to have wine and food. If you are looking for a great escape or a place to celebrate with a good event space, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great winery. We have visited this winery several times and have enjoyed sitting out on the back deck with a glass of wine and watching the beautiful water feature. However, twice in the last week, we had unpleasant experiences. One day last week, we stopped in to have a glass of wine and ask a question about an upcoming event we were planning. When we told the women who greeted us at the door what we wanted, she abruptly told us that she was simply too busy. And, she wasn't pleasant about it. We left. We returned today with the same mission...a glass of wine and to ask a few basic questions. Today we were seated on the back deck and given a glass of water (a nice touch on a hot day). We sat there for over 20 minutes. Nobody returned to take our order. There were exactly four tables of patrons. The three women working there returned to the patio at least 7 times to wait on the other tables. Not even once did they glance in our direction. After voicing our disappointment on the way out, we left. We received a call shortly afterwards saying they were sorry but they had been busy filling a large wine order. Amazing they were so busy filling that large wine order ... but still managed to wait on the other three tables with tastings, glasses of wine, and food. We get that things go wrong. Perhaps each of these women thought one of the others were waiting on our table. Could have been a simple miscommunication between staff. But, own up to it. Don't insult us further by telling us you were too busy when you weren't too busy serving the other tables. read more

On our way back up from Cottage Grove back to Portland we stopped in Aurora to check out some antique shops. The drive to that part of Aurora brought us past Aurora Colony Vineyards. We knew we would be stopping here on our way back to the highway. Another unpretentious vineyard. Free tastings again (see my previous review if you are one of my readers) and they do not skimp. We tasted 12 of their wines during this session. Kirk was our guide for this tasting. He was very knowledgeable about the wine as well as the business. One of their wines is named after him. We didn't find that out until the end as it was one of the final wines we tasted. He was super friendly and we enjoyed talking with him. Aurora Colony hasn't been around very long. They have only been producing wines since the summer of 2012, but they are apparently a big spot for weddings. We didn't end up walking around much, but from what I saw I'm sure it would be a nice place to get married. This was just a random find, but sometimes those are the best places. Worth a detour off of 1-5 if you happen to be in this area. read more

Yesterday was our one year anniversary. We decided to venture out to our first winery trip in Oregon and this is where we chose. Needless to say we were not disappointed! The staff was amazing and we even got a chance to chat with the owner, who when we left, gave us an anniversary gift of locally made chocolate which I can not wait to try! We were welcomed in to a lovely table outside in a beautiful courtyard with a beautiful waterfall. Unfortunately the weather was not cooperating and had other plans. We were quickly moved inside when the rain turned into pea sized hail...lol. We then sat at a beautiful wooden table where we finished our meat and cheese plate and finished our wine tasting. We also had a few glasses of other wines that were not on the tasting menu. The viogner was just lovely and the 2016 white wine blend was probably my favorite of everything. They were running a special on the first wine we tasted and we ended up walking out with a case of it for $80! I'm talking a steal of a deal! When the day ended, we collected our wine, our chocolate, our memories and came home to enjoy a bottle on our couch. What a beautiful way to celebrate our anniversary. We held a special event (legal victory) at ACV last week. The service provided by the staff was incredible. Chef Vance did a great job when initially meeting with us and also listening to our special requests and special diets requirements. He is able to cook delicious food for anyone with dietary needs or restrictions. Kelsey worked hard making sure everything was in order and perfectly timed. The evening went extremely well and every detail was attended to by the staff and Chef Vance. The celebration toast with champagne glasses was on-time and perfectly executed with everyone having the delicious sparkling pinot in their glass. Guests commented on how the hot food was served hot, unlike some banquets they had attended in the past. The Tempranillo was delicious and the estate chardonnay received rave reviews from a few guests. Guests are still raving about the Brussel sprout appetizer and said they have never tasted better Brussel sprouts. The facility also serves beer by the bottle (no taps) for beer drinkers who said they enjoyed the different styles. We will definitely consider ACV for future events and emphatically and want to give everyone kudos for the event was held last weekend. CHEERS! read more
