We were always able to get to our stops on time (I've been on tours where the guide hovers too much, rushing us to the next location. This wasn't the case at all.) Nick was also just a super nice guy and really easy to talk to. Our group appreciated that a lot! We got to see fish being gutted/cleaned, learned about the canning process of tuna, went to a marina to go crabbing, and then went to an oyster bar. The amount of education was wonderfully balanced with convenience and efficiency. It was like a field trip, but in the best way, with drinks, food, and good company. I will 100% go on a tour with this company again when I'm back in Portland. Highly recommend!

Tour guide Ali (also the owner!) is passionate about sustainable agriculture of all kinds - other tours go to farms and dairies. This one is all about seafood - we learned to filet a fish, how to hold a live crab safely, how to go crabbing from a dock, and how to shuck an oyster. There was plenty to eat! I didn't need dinner when lunch happened at all 3 stops - a starter of chowder at stop one, cheese platter and a whole crab at stop two, and raw oysters at stop three. Also - Oregon wine & beer. Super interesting info about fisheries, the local fishing culture, and agricultural stuff - definitely expanded my understanding of Oregon & the coast.

We got to see a total of 4 beautiful waterfalls, and each stop was absolutely stunning. The tour was well organized, relaxing, and the perfect way to experience the Gorge. I highly recommend Around Portland Tours to anyone visiting Portland and wanting to explore the Columbia River Gorge!

If…read moreyou're planning a trip to Portland (OR), I highly recommend doing the tour at the start of your trip--not the end--because now I have to come back just to follow up on other "tidbits and records " she shared on the history of Portland's parks and recreation scenes. The tour kicks off by meeting up at a red building--easiest to find if you're walking just outside the perimeter. Look for a small black signage on the door. The owner usually leaves the door unlocked in the morning hours so look for benches set up for you to seat and wait for your group. Susan, our guide, is a Portland native who left for college and returned back to Portland. She gave us some great bonus insights beyond the standard tour -- like history of the places, including local tycoons, how roads were funded and how each section of the districts were divided. More importantly , she suggested a ghost tour and highly recommend to try biking around town--definitely on my list for next time!

Absolute best tour company to go with if you want to see Oregon coast and waterfalls…read more Booking online was easy and they answered plenty of my questions via phone/Ms. Cheyenne was awesome with being so kind and pleasant to speak with. The prices for the waterfalls and Oregon coast tours were so reasonable. On Memorial Day 2025, I went on the Oregon Coast tour. Initially, the weather was overcast skies and we ran into light rain on the way, but it cleared up nicely. I surprisingly met fellow Texans on the tour with me, they were from my favorite part of TX too (West). We instantly connected when I told them I used to live in Lubbock and was a Red Raider! The other people on the tour was delightful too. For our first tour, we had guide, David. David was very knowledgeable about the trees. He talked about them a lot. He knew small details about the flowers, history of the roads, the state park, and just about everything, but especially trees. I almost thought he got a degree in Forestry to be that keen in the subject. David gave ample amount of time to shop/eat in Seaside, OR. I didn't eat since I had a huge breakfast and had no idea what restaurants were vegan. The following day, I went on the waterfalls tour with guide, Joe. Joe was AH-MAZING!!! He was so funny and made an accommodation to allow me to charge my phone along the way (since I did a full day of exploring Portland by foot and forgot to pack my charger). I understood my 90s references too which was cool. Joe was informative about the history, how the falls got their names, he identified goldstar lichen (even gave me the correct pronunciation of the word), and allowed plenty of time to explore. I loved how kind and helpful he was each time assisting an elderly disabled lady to and from the van. These tour guides don't have to be from Portland or even Oregon to provide a 5-star, A+, and solid in the bag tour of the most stunning attractions. I had a tour company, Sea to Summit/guide Josh (partial native Josh) tell me not to trust Wildwood for that very reason, but get this, Sea to Summit couldn't even find a party of four or more to pair me with on the waterfalls tour. They tried to contract with EcoTours with Jeff and again, not even was he able to get people to go. They kept telling me to wait and call back in five days, but they never had anything! Now what does that tell you?! Trust Wildwood Adventures, you won't be disappointed and you'll get your monies worth! As a solo traveler, I felt safe, comfortable, and enjoyed myself immensely. I met friends on this tour (that I spotted yesterday at Pittock Mansion; they called me by name). Thank you Wildwood Adventures for being so dependable!!

When: July 7, 2015 - Pearl District Walking Tour…read more Our host, Theresa was an excellent tour guide filled with Beer 101 Knowledge, PDX Historical Fact tidbits, Friendliness and most importantly Patience. When we began the tour, in the Deschutes Brewery Restaurant, Theresa filled us with Beer 101 knowledge and even one of the Deschutes Brewmasters came out for a Q & A session. He answered all questions, no matter how mundane or stupid they may have been. While we were walking to our next destination, Theresa filled our time with PDX Historical facts, that most people may know or not and by the time we reached our final destination, Rogue Brewery, everyone was already feeling jolly & talking loud, she patiently let all parties be themselves and enjoy the moment. This walking tour takes you to three (3) Brewery Restaurant Pubs, 1) Deschutes Brewery 2) Pints Brewing and 3) Rogue Brewing. This tour is an easy walk through the Pearl and Old Town districts with no hills etc. Additonally, you may even be able to make new friends, just like us...We stayed at Rogue Brewery long after the tour ended and became real good friends with this other couple from Winnipeg Canada, who was on the tour also, whom we traded email addresses with. I definitely recommend this tour for any beer lover, whether a novice or expert, in craft beers...you will definitely appreciate the depth and understand why Portland and the Pacific Northwest in general, is the mecca for the Craft Beer Industry.
