My sister and I had 4 days in Portland and we booked a tour of the waterfalls after reading the great reviews here, and we LOVED our experience! If I could give 10 stars I would!! Peter was the kindest, most knowledgeable, interesting and fun guide. As a local, and someone who has a deep appreciation of the area, he had a vast knowledge of the wildlife, geology, geography, and history of Oregon. I booked the Oregon Tour Co. for their Gold Medal Brewery Tour. It's an afternoon tour and they take you to 3 different breweries. I choose the Oregon Tour Co. after doing some research from looking online. They just made sense for our group. Their price was reasonable and altering speaking with Peter on the phone to get more information about the tour itself. I knew they would be the best choice for our group. I also really liked that they are a father-son company, so I knew we would be supporting a small business. So for $85 they pick you up depending on your location, otherwise you meet them downtown, and you get a flight at each brewery. Peter was great. He picked us up and gave great explanations of the brewery we were visiting. He was also pretty knowledge about their beers too. He answered our questions about the beer making process. I highly recommend this tour. But all their tours sounded great. read more

I booked a tour with Oregon Tour Co. as a gift for my friend's birthday. To confirm the details, I tried reaching out multiple times, but after receiving no response, I decided to cancel. I wasn't comfortable giving a gift from a company that wouldn't even acknowledge the booking. Before canceling, I attempted to contact them in multiple ways--through their website, by leaving a voicemail, and via email--but never received a response. Since I couldn't reach them and had no confirmation of my cancellation, I initiated a refund request through my bank. They finally responded a day before the tour, falsely claiming they had never received any of my messages and refusing to issue a refund, despite clear evidence that I attempted to cancel within their stated 48-hour policy. This company is unreliable, unresponsive, and unwilling to honor its own policies. Really nice tour. All the stops were worthwhile. My favorite was Maltnomah Falls. We spent around 30 minutes there, which gave us plenty of time to go on the bridge and walk around. It was raining, and they provided umbrellas, which I thought was a nice touch. read more

We had so much fun exploring the Columbia River Gorge via the tour with Peter. The tour was amazing and we got to see the beautiful waterfalls in the PNW. What a great experience! My boyfriend and I visited Portland for the first time and I booked this tour so we can have a better idea of things outside of the city. I am so glad we did. Pete was hands down the most memorable part of our trip. He picked us up from our hotel in downtown and the adventure begun. This man has an answer for literally any question you may have, on or off topic. An information booth...a walking encyclopedia! He loves his home and is very in tune with much of its history. Prior to our tour, I reviewed the itinerary, but I feel like we saw 10,000 things more than just that. So many waterfalls! SO MANY! We passed by so many title towns and neighborhoods on the way to the primary locations and it was just so interesting to see how different things are there as opposed to our home in LA. Not to mention Pete had a story for us along the way for many of the spots we passed by. The scenery was so breathtaking, not to mention being as up close to the waterfalls as we were able to be. There were 2 small optional hiking routes we opted into and it was extremely doable (I'm not a hiker, or active at all, so take it from me - you can do it!) Long story short, we highly recommend this tour. It would not have been the same had we not have been with Pete, we were very lucky to have come across him and this amazing tour. Review for the Columbia River Gorge Tour They offer several tours but we chose the Columbia River Gorge Tour. I had booked this tour online two weeks prior to flying to Oregon. Confirmation and receipt was immediate. Communication was great too... originally, we were confirmed for a Saturday but Pete, owner, called me and asked if we could change the date to Sunday so we could double up with another couple. We didn't mind so we agreed. When Pete asked me where we were staying I might have given him a little scare when I said Seaside. Seaside is some 80 miles from Portland and he probably thought he would have to drive there to pick us up. I assured him that we will be driving to Portland and even be at the same place as the other couple. Pete was prompt at picking us up at said location. Immediately, he started telling us stories and historic facts as we left Portland to take us to our journey of the Columbia River Gorge Tour. We stopped at several places including these beautiful sites: * Bridge of the Gods * Bonneville Dam Fish Hatchery * Horsetail Falls * Multnomah Falls * Shepperd's Dell * Latourell Falls * Vista House at Crown Point We had plenty of photo opportunities as Pete gave us enough time to enjoy the scenic sites and waterfalls. We even did a little hiking. This was a nice personal tour, there were only four of us and we didn't have to do any driving and contend with the traffic and struggle looking for parking spots. The beautiful weather during Memorial Day weekend brought many visitors and tourists out to the falls. The tour was about 4 hours long. There is a morning and an afternoon tour you can choose from. Bring camera (optional) and wear comfortable shoes because you will be walking/hiking on uneven trails and terrain towards the waterfalls. Great experience! Would book with them again. Our tour guide Peter was hands down one of the best tour guides I have had in any past tours I've been on. Peter knew his facts about Portland, Oregon, the animals in Portland and understands the wildlife and nature when exploring the beautiful wanderlust Oregon has to offer. Peter was able to answer any question we had about Portland and Oregon in general. Peter and his family has been living in Portland Oregon for over 4 generations and his knowledge is filled with fascinating facts about Oregon. Peter truly shows how much he loves and cares about Oregon and the nature that makes Oregon unique. Our tour was only us two and two other visitors who were also from California ironically. Our experience felt like a private tour experience! Peter knows his way all along the mountains and we were able to stop at every waterfall that Portland Oregon has to offer, including the famous Multinomah falls, the unique Horsetail falls, and our favorite on the trip; the Latourell falls. Peter also showed us unique Mo emery's including the Bridal Veil post office (2nd smallest functioning post office in the country), as well as the beautiful view of the Gorge River from the Vista Viewpoint House. Words and pictures could not describe the true beauty you witness on this tour from the waterfalls, to the unique towns you pass by, and the amazing views you get from the Vista House. This tour was worth every penny! Peter also picked us up from our Air B n B as well as dropped us back off. Peter was seriously an amazing guide who made my fiancé and I's overall trip highlight. I wish we were around for a couple more days, so we could take advantage of other tours the family company takes visitors on! Bottom line.... this is a MUST! Hi! Tours thru Oregon Tour Co. are so easy to book we booked two (the half-day Gorge tour and the full-day Coast tour). Pete was helpful answering alllll my questions and concerns via email... he helped me feel like my and my sister's disabilities and obesity would be accommodated. He also helped us figure out a place that they could pick us up from. We got picked up and dropped off in a relatively timely manner with some delay that was out of the tour guide's control. Peter (his son) was an amazing tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable and fun. He kept the mood light and enjoyable throughout the day, and was easy to talk to and talked to everyone who wanted to talk. He was also very flexible with me and my sister... my sister has Down syndrome and he let us stay back if we needed to or walk only as much as we could while others in the group walked on ahead. He also focused on speaking directly to her and making her feel included. At times he shared special knowledge of the plants and wildlife with her specifically as she passed by something that would catch his eye. He would park really close to each location and if he didn't find parking he'd drop us off at a convenient location that was closest to the point of attraction. He only got a little impatient with our long bathroom breaks once (we have to change our clothes at times due to incontinence issues) but that was because he also had to be conscious of the other people on the tour snd their rights... but even then he simply advised us then let it go quickly and continued to help us for the remainder of the trip in his calm and collected way. He also made the drive through the various terrain (on a 16 passenger van!) look easy. We would HIGHLY recommend this tour and would encourage everyone to tip well cuz the tour guide deserves it. Fun and easy to manage, with lots of learning and truly breathtaking views (we got amazing shots and video footage of huge firs and flying eagles over cliffs and ocean waves!) P.S. my sister would like to say Thank You. It was good... the waterfalls, the comfy van with air conditioning when needed (thanks for accommodating the groups' preferences), and the coastal town with the nice shrimp melt (I tried it for the first time!). P.P.S. this is not related to the tour itself but somebody who works for the National Parks and Forest Preserves should get more ramps built and elevators installed at Haystack Rock and Multnomah Falls and the other places we visited... we felt it could have been way more accessible and accommodating to people with a plethora of varying abilities. The stairs down to the Haystalk Rock were sandy and muddy, and the path afterwards was steep (hard to walk on for people with an uneven/unsteady gait). Likewise the Multnomah Falls stairs were too much for us so we stayed down below while everyone else was able to reach the bridge above and view the falls close up from there. Thanks. read more

We had incredible adventures with Pete and he showed us the magnificent waterfalls in the Columbia river gorge. It was a half day tour and he picked us up from our downtown hotel. Booked the morning waterfall tour for 2 for a trip to Portland in mid October. Peter was friendly and had lots of interesting facts to share about the area. I wasn't sure how big the tour group was going to be but it turned out be a private tour as no one else had booked that same tour so he picked us up in his Land Rover. It was a comfortable ride all throughout and we got to learn about Portland and the Columbia River Valley Gorge. Peter said he owns and runs the business with his dad so we got to support a local small business and had an excellent time. FIVE STARS...TEN STARS...A HUNDRED STARS!!! My friend and I went to Portland for vacation and we wanted to make the most of our time here so we booked two tours. We went on the Columbia River Gorge Tour on a Friday afternoon and we took the all day Oregon Coast Tour on a Sunday. Both tours were run by Peter. Not only was he so knowledgeable, friendly and personable with each of the passengers but he has a voice that you would want to listen to forever. He's also a good sport as my friend and I joked around a lot. We were picked up in a comfortable van right outside our hotel, exactly on time. The Columbia River Gorge Tour was about 4 hours and we visited three amazing waterfalls and a stop at the Vista House...all the while learning about the history of the area from Peter. The Oregon Coast Tour is definitely worth taking if you have the time. It's such a beautiful drive out to the coast and the beaches there are so different from what we have in Southern California! Simply breathtaking. We stopped in Cannon Beach for lunch and that was a lot of fun to explore that little town. The highlight of our vacation was taking these tours with Peter. There is some walking on these tours and some uneven terrain. I would recommend good shoes on these tours. I did the tours in not the best shoes with very little support but it would have been better with the right shoes. You'll also want to bring a jacket because it can get very cold and windy. If I ever make my way back to Portland I would definitely take the other tours that we didn't take. I can't recommend this tour company enough! SO MUCH FUN!!! read more

Wine tour with Pete was excellent. He agreed to pick me and bf up from our hotel for an extra charge of $10 per person. He was very knowledgable about wine and different types of wine: pinot noir, bordeaux, and rose wine, and chardonnay. He explained about the itinerary of the tour and what types of wines we would be tasting. He was pretty entertaining too, with his stories. The first winery was Laurel Ridge Winery. Their 2016 rose had such a delicate aroma and the right amount of sweetness that I love about roses. The 2014 David Tableau vivant holds a deep meaning to the owner. David was the founder and owner. This wine was created after he passed away. The family continues to produce this wine in honor of him. That wine had that black cherry flavor with chocolate and coffee aftertaste. The daughter Kira explained each wine that we tasted on the menu. She was so friendly. Her mom, Susan was nice. Their dogs entertained us during our visit. The second winery Arnie Annie had such a beautiful view of the winery and the willamette valley. Pete never been to winery when he takes people out on the wine tour. The 2014 prisme reserve pinot noir blanc stood out for me. That aroma butterscotch and peaches seduce me in with that sweet riped fig and caramel flavor got me twisted in. My bf and I enjoyed drinking the wine while observing the views. The third stop was a wine shop called Pike road. There was a outdoor separate place to enjoy wine and sunny weather. The worker let us take our time between each wine tasting. The 2016 rose was lovely first pick on the menu. I felt the Laurel ridge 2016 rose was better. The aromas and flavors were far better. Sadly, me and my bf could not finish the entire tasting menu. The alcohol was sinking in and knocking me out of the park. Pete could see it in our eyes that we were both tired or tipsy to continue forward. I actually slept the entire time on our way back to the hotel. I appreciate Pete for his patience and being understanding while we weren't clearly sober. We are both too weak for the wines by not eating enough before leaving on the tour. Please eat plenty before attending this tour. The price for this wine tour is reasonable compared to other companies. He had a platter of crackers, cheese, and bread to eat at the third stop which is included in our tour cost. Other tour group don't include tasting fees or lunch. read more
