They provided water and while we were driving, our tour guide provided rich history of the valley and the land. We visited three excellent wineries and had different experiences at each of them. The first was a traditional and one of the oldest wineries, then we went to another winery that served white Pinot Noir, which was amazing, and we went to another modern winery with a really rich history as well, and it was by far the sleekest winery we visited. I love that they curated the tour to highlight different practices in organic and biodynamic farming. We learned a lot during our time together. We also had opportunities to venture off on our own, which served us well because we didn't want to feel forced to engage with people we were never going to see again. I highly recommend this tour company, especially if you want to learn about the terroir of the Willamette Valley. We also highly recommend visiting their beautiful and well stocked tasting room in Portland!

(This is their typical tour size.) The very detailed pre-trip questionnaire we had completed ensured we would visit just the right boutique wineries for our interests. (Our favorite was Arlyn, but each offered a very different experience.) Our guide, Aron, who has worked in the wine industry, was very knowledgeable and shared lots of good information--including about unrelated topics like places to eat in Portland. He also picked up lunch for us at The Horse Radish in Carlton, so we could eat at one of the wineries and not waste time driving. Be sure to read the FAQ page on the Backcountry Wine Tours website for details on how joinable tours work, how they select wineries, etc.

Once I connected with Proprietor Paul Tsiorba at Willamette Valley Tours, I felt that I had found a real partner in planning. He was responsive, insightful, and so easy to work with. Before even leaving home, we felt we were in good hands. And when our vacation was over, we knew we had made the right choice. Our trip to WV, OR was unforgettably fun and completely relaxing all at the same time. Paul bills himself as "Director of Awesome Experiences" and you might think that is hyperbole...until you book and tour with him! Thank you Paul, and Lova, for taking us all of the places we were sure to enjoy, for knowing the answers to every question, for respecting our time and our money, and for your genuine hospitality. You two are real ones!

We had a great experience with him on our tour. He was on time, friendly, knowledgeable, flexible and accommodating. Paul had a great line up of which wineries to take us to, and also had a great recommendation of where to pick up lunch and even pre-ordered for us. It was definitely a great experience and made our trip better. Thank you Paul!

Michele and Tom were punctual, friendly, knowledgeable and overall great people. Every aspect of the tour was planned seamlessly and our every want, need and question was taken care of. Booking was super easy and Michele was a huge help in picking out the best wineries for our tastes. She was also great at communication before the tour. Michele and Tom also provided snacks and water in the van, which was impeccably clean and well maintained. We went to Sokol Blosser, Durant, and Furioso and had tables waiting for us upon arrival. We also had a charcuterie lunch at Durant that was just perfect. The timing of all the tastings was great and we never felt rushed. This is my second tour with Triangle Wine Country and I look forward to many more in the future.

Can't recommend enough!

No hard liquor but they have beer, wine, hard ciders and a wine made to taste like tequila for their version of a margarita. We got the watermelon ones. Mmm... Yes, they provide a karaoke machine so your party can garble the 2 whole hours if they want. I really can't think of a downside except that the birthday girl kept saying that she wished the night wouldn't end. Thanks to the great staff who kept the drinks flowing and go us off on time and gave us a little extra time to enjoy ourselves.

The crew was really friendly and attentive, and the price of drinks was surprisingly cheap. The host of the evening did a great job toeing the line between giving facts/playing tour guide and letting people enjoy themselves. It was a good mix of interesting info without being overbearing. The tour goes south down way to Dunthorpe, turns and comes back on the far side of Ross Island, then goes up past the Fremont Bridge for unobstructed sunset views before heading back to dock. The price for the tour was right -- it was cheaper than the Portland Spirit's dinner cruise (the only tour they offer for sunset) and longer than their late afternoon happy hour cruise. Overall I recommend Island Style for a fun and easy tour of the Willamette!
