Me and my girlfriend did the upper clackamas river full day experience and it was nothing short of amazing. From start to finish we had the absolute best time. Ari our guide was super fun and helpful. I had some worries going in as it was my first time but they went through all the safety precautions and eased my nerves. They provide lunch half way through and we even got to cliff dive and swim. Cannot recommend enough. read more

My family and I had such a fun, memorable experience! We recently did a half day on the Upper Clackamas at the end of August. Water levels were lower but still had some exciting Class 2 and 3 rapids. My husband and teen boys have rafted a few times before but it was my first time. The guides were excellent, very organized and put my mind at ease. Our guide, Willow, did a great job and I would definitely recommend O.R.E. to locals and tourists if you've never done it before! I have just finished my trip with ORE at the lower salmon river. I had a ball. I had five wonderful guides, great food, and tons of fun. The head of the trip was an incredible NB person named Rylin. They did so much to make the trip enjoyable for everyone who went. They helped cook food, transport bags, and keep us having fun. They went out of their way to get up at 5:30 each morning to have coffee ready by 6. I enjoyed each morning waking up and taking to them. They had lots of fun energy and enjoyed taking to all of the unique personalities in our group. I would go on another trip with Rylin in a heartbeat. Our nature specialist was a lovely man named Eric. Eric kept our group well informed about the river and had fun classes while at it. He also took us on fun walks and hikes. The other guides were; Lucy, Ben, and Steph. All of them went above and beyond on helping or make an amazing trip. I think I can sadly say that I will be going back to ORE for another trip very soon read more

White Water Road Scholar rafting trip August 2024 This rafting/Glamping trip was one of the best trips I've ever been on. We had an incredible group of 14 and crew of 6. I'm still walking around in state of bliss. The natural beauty of this canyon is best seen from a raft. This is a real life Tom Sawyer experience. Cowboy chuckwagon style home cooked meals (3) and charcuterie + wine happy hour every day. And to keep it exciting a microburst of hail, gale force wind and rain hit the campsite. A special shout out to Natalie who threw 2 giant rocks into the corners of my tent to keep it from tumbling down the hill. (And Carl, fellow camper, who staked down my tent rain tarp) Also Natalie gave an excellent riverside talk about the formation of the canyon and the impact of water. But the real thanks goes to RYLIN, our fearless leader! Thank you for your attention to keeping us safe and well informed all matters from "the groover" to raft/kayak safety. Your positive/happy/smart approach to life is contagious. Without your support and encouragement I never would have attempted to try the kayak. Many thanks Rylin! Such a wonderful and amazing experience. Firstly, we miscalculated our travel and were late. They were nothing but kind and considerate and were very understandable and waited for us. OUR GUIDE: We had Reid as our guide and he was awesome!!! He was incredibly knowledgeable and great at explaining things., He even went into some detail about CFS which the unit used to describe the volume and speed of water. He explained it in a very tangible and clear way so we could visualize and understand. He told stories of some of his experiences in deadly rivers and techniques he used to survive. He would even explain in detail certain situations in rapids we would be heading into soon. On some rapids he would explain all the different things that could happen depending on how we maneuvered and if other raft were involved, etc. It was great to learn to much we felt like we were given a glimpse into the white water rafting community. He was so much fun he had tons of games and ways to make the trip even more enjoyable. We played a balancing type game while in calm water where someone would stand up on the end of the raft and everyone would spin the raft to try to force the person stand to fall off. Another game was having someone straddle the front the raft like they were riding a bull while we went through a rapid and putting people that don't want to get wet in spots where they'll get soaked. There was even a photo shoot where he organized a funny photo where we all looked like we were attacking each other. It's the little things that we really appreciate. Such a fun tour guide that made our experience so much better. VALUE: We booked the half day trip on the lower Clackamas river. And boy was it a sight to behold. So much beauty it was so much to take in while trying to survive the rapids. Through the trip there was a photographer taking pictures throughout the 6 hour trip. Afterwards we were able to buy a flash drive with all the photos on it. Cost around $40 a believe which was a great deal for all the pictures they took. We were given lunch at about halfway. All delicious healthy food, with a few sweet exceptions, that kept us energized and ready for the other half. (Chicken sandwiches, PB&J, carrots, hummus, cookies). Everything was about $100 per person for our party of 6. Which wasn't bad for how long we were out on the river. OVERALL: 10/10 such an awesome company and team! Would recommend it to anyone! Definitely want to come back and do a multi day trip! read more

I went on a 5 day rafting and camping trip on the Lower Salmon River in Idaho. It was a grandparent-grandchild trip sponsored by Road Scholar who contracted with Oregon River Experiences. All the equipment was provided for camping and rafting. The ORE trip leader and guides are excellent, extremely competent, friendly, engaging and organized. The food was abundant and delicious. The river was exciting. There were always choices about which type of raft to be on and also for the other activities. No one was pressured to exceed their comfort level. I highly recommend this trip and company for a terrific outdoor experience. read more

Did the Rogue River Whitewater Kayaking trip which was supported by an Oregon River Experiences raft team (Current Adventures led the kayaking). I commented on the (fantastic) kayaking piece in a separate review for Current Adventures. It was a 4 day trip. It was awesome. Awesome. First off, it's just a great river - beautiful, lots of wildlife, fun rapids, everything you'd want. The Oregon River Experiences raft support team was four strong (Ted, Cole, Eric, and...Kyle), and they did everything brilliantly. They were professional, friendly, unassuming, and they prepared great food that always seemed to be ready at precisely the right moment. They sent one raft ahead to set up camp each day, and two others paddled with us setting up lunch and acting as a safety valve in a few cases where various folks opted to ride the raft rather than engage with late-day rapids while tired or certain challenging rapids at other times. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves even though they were working 100x harder than we were. We were fortunate to see a ton of wildlife and I don't think I've laughed that much or heard so many others laughing in many years. I'll remember the experience fondly. Looking forward to my next trip with O.R.E. and Current Adventures! read more

Last week, I took my church youths for a rafting trip down the Clakamas River. The size of our group required two rafts. Fortunately, both of our rafting guides were very skilled and professional, yet fun loving. They took us to this one cliff where we can jump into the river pool. It was nearly 30 feet in height and talk about an adrenaline rush! Some of us had to do it twice for good measure. I just thank God that no one got hurt leaping from a cliff. (: About midway into the rafting, they had prepared a sandwich lunch for us and I must say it was pretty good. I was tempted for a second one but then I decided against it because it would slow me down too much in my old age. Gotta be able to keep up with these high energy kids. Further down the river in one of the swimmable pool, I lost my waterproof camera. Made good use of it for 4 years and I thought it was a goner. I had taken ton of photos for sharing with the youths and so we were all bummed out about it. But to my surprise, I got a msg from ORE that one of their guides had dove in the next day and retrieved it and so we were all pretty ecstatic. Sweetness! I still went to the ORE website though and purchased their pkg deal. The one with 10 high quality digital images. Their proshots have angles that I couldn't get from my vantage point. When I displayed the proshots on the following Sunday service, the kids were pretty elated. This was the very first rafting trip for all of my students except for one and I think it was a memorable one for them all. Myself, I had done two before this one. However, this one was by far and away the best out of the three. As a father, I recommend that all dads take their family to this rafting outfit as a part of their family vacay. You will definitely be your kids hero. Also as a volunteer youth pastor, I recommend that you take your students here since most volunteer youth pastors don't have too many students. Thanks ORE. They recommended that tour as appropriate for kids because it is an easy float down a gentle stretch of river. The equipment was in good condition, the guide was friendly and accommodating and professional, the river and scenery were spectacular. After finding this company by merely googling "clackamas river rafting," I was surprised at the amount of fun my family and I had during our rafting trip this afternoon. We opted for an afternoon trip on the second to last day of the season. My mom, sister and I have never been into adventurous water activities but this was an experience I would highly recommend to others. Our guide was not only friendly, but well adapted to keeping my mom and I calm in a raft of 5 men who seemed to want to make the trip "extreme." As neither my mom nor I had ever done anything like this, we were scared initially. We quickly felt comfortable and safe in the raft, especially during the most "intermediate" of the rapids which would normally frighten us. We kept the shrieking to an acceptable minimum and had SO much fun. Two complaints: 1) because we were the only odd-numbered party on the trip for this afternoon, we had to split into 2 different rafts. All 4 rafts on the trip stayed fairly close together during the trip and were in view for most of it but we were the only party that was forced to split. 2) from the only other review we read, we were under the impression pictures would be taken of us during our trip. The guides told us it would be difficult to take out our cameras while on the water to snap pictures but there were definitely Kodak moments. Your camera may slip out of your pocket but if well protected, I would recommend bringing it anyway. In our case, we had 4 full rafts and thus needed all 4 guides. No one was taking pictures of us. It's a shame to experience such beautiful scenery and enjoyable moments without a single picture on the water to remember it by. read more

Don't hesitate in booking with this company. We just did a half day run with them (on the Clackamas) a couple of days ago and our experience, from beginning to end, was excellent. When we requested to push back the date of our reservation due to chilly weather, they were mostly booked for the new day requested but they made it work. Yes, customer service is alive and well, at least with this company anyway... Our guide (Louis) was awesome and we all (four adults, two teens, one child) credit him for such a fantastic experience. When we weren't enjoying the gorgeous scenery or exciting rapids, we were playing "the balance game" or jumping into cold water from short cliffs. His relaxed manor, obvious experience, respect for safety (without being overly cautious) and clear instructions were very much appreciated. When another rafting company nearly caught up with us, he did his best to move us along so we could have the river to ourselves again. It's all in the details....but they missed one... When I heard that one of the crew would be tracking us (by truck) and taking pictures from the banks along the way, I thought to myself "those are going to be expensive" and a few days after our trip, they sent us the link and, it was confirmed. We bought 7 photos (downloads) for $40. Ouch. So close to five stars! read more

Possibly the best river outfitter statewide. Just took the Owyhee multi-day trip, a dream float if you get the chance, btw. But ORE covers ten rivers all around Oregon, including all the best. They do a fantastic job, whether day trip or multi, they treat you like royalty, feed you like a king, and take care of the gear like humble servants. They really give you that full "experience" of being part of a river team, with all the fun, and none of the work. I mean, come on, how many outfitters can offer you fine wine and desserts served on a tray, before basking in a primitive hot spring pool after a day of smashing rapids? Do it with ORE. read more

We booked a day-long rafting trip with ORE and had a fantastic time. Originally, we didn't book the $5 for the wetsuits, but on the day we arrived, it was rainy and cold, so we were regretting it. VERY happy to say that the guides had brought the suits anyways in case we changed our mind, and we did (absolutely worth the extra $5!). The guides also threw in some extra fleece jackets and waterproof jackets on top of the wet suits because of the unusual chill. The rafting experience down the river is really great for any family age. No spills, no tumbles, but enough kick in the rapids to have a great time. You WILL absolutely get good and soaking wet. A little after the half way mark, we pulled off at a location with a restroom and a picnic table. The guides provided lunch (cold cuts with all the fixings so we could make some GREAT sandwiches, lemonade, fruit selection, and cookies). We got back in the river and headed down for the second half, which is equally as fun as the first half. I would really suggest booking for the full day. All told, we were in the water by 10 a.m. and out of the water by 3 p.m. Our guide was a young man named Luke, who was extremely personable, good-humored, and incredibly patient with our family, who would not stop bickering for the entire trip. He might be a saint. Overall: GREAT experience, great company - highly recommend! One thing I'd like to point out though: on the Web site it says they'll take pictures for you. They will, but I thought those pictures would be provided - they're not. They charge $8 per 4x6 photo, and the price rises as the size of the photo increases. For comparison, if I order prints today online if my photos, a 4x6 would cost me around 40cents, so $8 a photo is really rather steep. I would have put my camera in a plastic bag if I knew I'd be charged so exorbitantly for pictures, so take that into consideration. read more

We booked this trip for an excursion with our co-workers in town from India. I wanted to show them a bit of the NW landscape and give them a unique experience to take home with them. Our guide, Louis, was great! He was entertaining us with all sorts of maneuvers and games. I am so glad that we were able to have him. He was extremely knowledgeable about the river, wildlife and terrain. We had an unforgettable experience and it was a great team building event. We floated the Clackamas, which pleasantly surprised me with its fun, but not too intense rapids and beautiful landscape. Plus it is only 45 mins from PDX which reminds me why it is so great to live here. One of our Indian friends (even after falling out of the raft) said "it was/is/will be the best thing I did in my entire life". I would highly recommend these guys! read more

An incredible wilderness and white water adventure. Celebrating my 60th birthday with 7 other ladies. Ted and Todd of ORE created a fun, exciting, and very memorable trip. They put everyone at ease, challenged us, and catered to us. They were well prepared, very organized, knowledgeable, and super fun! We arrived in Galice on Wednesday night and stayed in a beautiful cabin on the river. Set off on the Rogue on Thursday morning. Blue skies, cool, clear water, lots of fun. Their equipment is top notch. We had two rafts, two guides, four women in each boat. Glamping our first night on the river with top notch meals. We had tents but many of us chose to sleep on cots out under the stars. What a marvelous experience! Second day on the Rogue we traveled through some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. Absolutely pristine. Second and third nights on the River we stayed at Paradise Lodge is roomy cabins with a deck overlooking the river. Great meals, lots of hiking, a great swimming hole, birthday party, and great people! We had a layover day at Paradise and as our guides told us, nature now came to us. Incredible. Forth day on the River we did a creek walk, swam under a waterfall, and just enjoyed all that this beautiful river canyon has to offer. Fifth night we were back in a beautiful cabin in Galice. Truly and all-inclusive trip. We were all so relaxed! What an incredible and unforgettable journey. Thank you ORE! One of the best vacations ever! read more
