I have been on 2 other white water rafting experiences before, but this one was the best by far!! Our guide, Stephen was incredible! He let us swim in rapids, and took us to some spots where we could swim and chill out as well. He kept my family and I ver entertained on the raft and was a super great guy to talk to. He knew a lot about the history of the river and I learned so much from his fun facts. The view is absolutely gorgeous and the rafting itself is so fun! Water is pretty chilly but very refreshing. If possible, I recommend going on a weekday because it gets extremely busy on weekends and you'll have to share the river with a ton of other rafts. Also, due to coronavirus and short staffing, they don't have photographers right now to take action pictures as you go through the rapids, but Stephen was very kind and offered to take pictures of us as a family throughout the ride. I defnitely recommend bringing either a waterproof camera or a waterproof cellphone bag if you want to take pictures. Their guides don't respect others using the Deschutes River. Guided a raft directly into the small pool we were fishing, rafting right next to our fly fishing lines when that was really not necessary. Then guided rafts on either side of my husband who was wade fishing, and of course the guests on the raft ignored he was standing between the rafts and started a splash blaster water fight. Guide didn't do anything to stop them or steer them away. Very poor river etiquette. There's a lot of river guides out there -- if you either fish or you think others rights to enjoy the river equal yours, then don't use All Star Rafting. We certainly will never use them now, and would recommend all other rafting companies over them - as all other rafting companies seem to be respecting that we can all share the river together. read more

I have rafted the Deschutes in Oregon and the White Salmon in Washington with All Star Rafting, and I had an amazing time on both of my trips. The guides on both rivers were excellent. On the Deschutes our guide was a very experienced young woman who had been leading rafting trips for a number of years. On the White Salmon, our guide was a man who had been kayaking for years, and the techinical skills that he shared with us and his love of the river made the trip great. I felt very safe in the hands of both of these experienced individuals. I had a better time on the Deschutes because the rapids are rated a bit higher so the river offers more excitment, but it's still okay for kids. We were able to ride on the front of the boat for some of the lower rated rapids, and there is an area of the river where we were allowed to jump in which was really fun. Plus, it was a full day trip complete with a picnic lunch. It was just typical picnic fare, nothing special but it still hit the spot. I enjoyed the White Salmon as well, but it was a fairly lazy river until the end where you go over a waterfall. We jumped off a bridge too, and I enjoyed that but the river itself was a bit boring for my tastes. Plus, the water was very cold. Wet suits were required on this trip so we were okay unless the water was choppy. I would recommend this company to anyone, but please, go SOBER! Rivers are very dangerous, and I know several people who have had close calls on the Deschutes. Being alert is critical to your safety and to the safety of those with you. read more

I am sunburned and exhausted thanks to All Star Rafting. Yes, this is a good thing. Wow, another awesome trip down the Deschutes. I've led a group down the last few years - the (ever-changing) group however has been going for 16 years, all with All Star, and all with great results. We've never had a problem with our reservations, shuttles, or delivery. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and makes sure we have a fantastic time. The group we were with had four guides and four rafts. My wife requested (ahead of time) that we use Inflatable Kayaks. They were really cool about it and provided the gear and whatever help we would want. We'd done some IK before, but did a full day on the Deschutes and really liked it. The guides were professional, kept everyone on-task while still having a lot of fun. The driver was safe, the equipment was in great shape. My wife got stuck behind and panicked at Oak Springs rapids (class 4). One of the guides got out and walked back to her, and carried the kayak up the hill and around the rapids. She didn't make my wife feel bad, she just did it with a smile on her face and kept saying "no problem!" Our group had 30's (us), kids, 40's & 50's. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The lunch was good and there was plenty of food. I'd definitely go with All-Star again. read more

I was with a school group for about 7 summers. We always used All Star. The guides were always great and everything went smoothly. I just used them personally with some college friends. They rented us the raft, ferried us up the river, and picked us up at the bottom. Perfectly smooth, as usual. Such a great experience! I booked a day rafting trip for myself and 6 friends about two weeks beforehand and they were able to accommodate us for the date we had in mind. Our guide, Willem, was super knowledgeable, friendly and had great stories to tell the whole way. Everyone had a blast--we didn't want the day to end! Last Sunday I was thinking of something to do with the family for a few days and remembered floating Deschutes years ago without kids. Fun then but now with two boys and my wife we booked a trip the for the following Monday. Lots of choices and company's fighting for your business but All Star Rafting stood out in the crowd. Website was easy to navigate and quick. Check in was a breeze and the staff was so nice. Our guides Dereck and I believe Cory were outstanding and made our day as a family really something special. A little whitewater rafting fun with the boys can only lead to an adrenaline fueled afternoon. Our cute guide was informative and she was willing to make us pay for our sideways remarks! This rafting company was quick and efficient about getting us in the river, with all the normal precursory safety instructions etc. Boxcar was a test, too bad we couldn't push through to the standing wave! We had an absolute blast with Max on the White Salmon River trip. He was a fantastic guide and was able to tell us all about the history of the river as well as point out all the amazing natural features we encountered on the adventure. We felt perfectly safe with him and he gave information and instructions at appropriate intervals so that we were not overwhelmed but were always prepared to navigate the river successfully. His skill as a teacher made us feel confident in choosing to go over the falls. I would not have changed a thing. You could go with a more "mass produced" experience offered by some other operators on the river, or you could go with All Star and feel like you have the river to yourself. I'd highly suggest you book with All Star. The experience was superior in every way. If I'm ever back in the area, I will be sure to book another trip with them. read more

Our group of 4 just went out on the full day trip yesterday. Our trip was fantastic! Our guide, Derek, was knowledgeable, capable, friendly, and quite hilarious. We got clear safety and navigation instructions, and then we hit the river. Throughout the day, Derek shared some great stories and jokes about the history of the river and the area and his extensive knowledge of the local wildlife. We also had a few stops along the way to jump off a basalt formation, swim/float down a small stretch of rapids, and have a great lunch. Highly recommended! read more
