This is really nice straight forward launch area for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and other…read moresmall boats. They have good parking, nice restrooms, picnic tables and very much nestled in with nature. The launch point is a bit challenging with not much room down by the water, with the river flow and depth constantly changing I am sure it can be a bit of a challenge for construction. Maybe they can figure out how to secure a good floating dock at some point. The water and natural landscape along the Tualatin River is some of the best. Go north to Rood Bridge park, but around there is a stop because of a damn. So South and you can go miles towards Tigard then Tualatin. Always lots of friendly folks on the water. Best part no motor boats. If you are looking for a great place to paddle, this is a good place to put in. When done and hungry you can swing around the he corner for great burgers at Cruisin' Diner. It would be a five star if the launch point was better.

Mikayla and Nikki were extremely helpful and made our ride very fun. They are very knowledgeable and helped us get into sync. Nate took care of our parents in the other boat. Our instructors were Rose and Margot; both were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and patient! They even helped me when I fell into the water (yeah, I'm not embarrassed to admit it... I totally fell in the water, haha!). It was totally my fault but both were quick to help me and they did such a great job not making me feel bad about it. Helpful Tips: * If you're taking a class, know that the kayak, the paddle and the life vest are provided. * If you plan to bring your phone with you on the kayak, make sure to bring an airtight bag to keep your phone in it. We had one already but I saw that they sold them in their store, too! Oh, and it's worth mentioning... the company was very understanding even though we arrived five minutes late (our GPS turned us around and we got lost heading to the class). Of course, try your best to avoid being late, but it was great knowing they were understanding about it. It made us feel extremely comfortable! My wife and I are definitely coming back!

He did a great job correcting our strokes. It was clear he had the knowledge of the sport as well as the understanding to be able to offer corrective feedback. I have a service dog and they showed great flexibility in working with me and my dog in and out of the water. It was well worth the money. Overall, my experience with Alder Creek was phenomenal.

This park is a great place to walk along the Columbia River with views of the river and Mount Hood…read moreon a clear day. They have a few different parking lots, and some public restrooms near the parking & picnic shelters, but some restrooms close for the Winter and there aren't any restrooms out on the trails. There's a couple of covered picnic shelters and beach access at a few spots, so it can be popular in the Summer. The trails is quite long, and connects to the trail system at the wildlife refuge next to it, so you can just walk out & back for as far as you'd like. The trails are mostly flat and gravel, so it's not to bad or muddy if it's rained recently. And if you're in this area and want to grab a beer after you finish your walk, both Recluse Brew Works and 54-40 Brewing are very close by (and 54-40 has a great patio open in the warmer months and great food, too).
