It was our first time here, made reservations and came here to celebrate Mother's Day with out of town guests. Our experience was very disappointing: -Told our kids they couldn't get out of their seats -Told our kids not to "mess with anything" -Owner came over with mask only covering mouth (not a big deal to me but if you're going to be rigid you should hold yourself to the same standard imo) -One person's order came out 45 minutes after the rest of our meals -Had to ask for napkins and silverware after food was served -Water wasn't refilled -Asked a server what type of meat was on the meat/cheese plate and she couldn't answer and didn't offer to find out -We had a party with 9 people sat apart due to covid protocols (understandable) and when we asked if we could sit in the tables closest to each other they said no because they'd have to re-clean the table (read: total effort of Lysol spray for 45 seconds) -On our way out, Server and/or Manager said Happy Mother's Day and I explained my poor experience at their venue. She then became very defensive and argumentative. I had to end the conversation saying ok, thank you good bye. -Overall experience: pretty scenery, ok food, vinegary wine, not family friendly and terrible customer service. We won't return. We took our business to Pheasant Run Winery and Tasting Room around the corner and were blown away by the great customer service, great food and wine. Learn from our mistake and head there first. read more

I was sure I was going to love this place. Sadly I didn't. The wine was less than exceptional and the staff had an unkind demeanor. This was supposed to be our last winery of the day, we had visited 5 others. When we first arrived I was looking forward to relaxing on their pretty patio. It soon became clear that was not to happen. We tasted a few disappointing wines. We didn't stay long as staff were openly discussing a situation they had with an event that was taking place in their other building, bad mouthing the attendees because English was not their first language. The final straw was when one of the staff asked another couple who were just finishing a flight "So, do you want to buy anything?" I hope the management and staff will take a step back to appreciate what they have, the jewel of a facility and their clientele. Please provide kind service to your customers, ask them if there is anything you can do, talk kindly about your guests, show some gratitude, it will be returned to ten-fold. read more

Beautiful winery conveniently located off I-5 in Aurora for a visit coming/going south of Portland Friendly and knowledgeable tasting. Wonderful food available for lunch on the patio, fried Brussel sprouts were yum! Wish we were in town over weekend to attend live music night. Left with six bottles of wine. read more

Cancelled our reservation AFTER we arrived. We traveled from out of town specifically to visit this winery. We made a reservation over the phone, as instructed by their website to do, two weeks in advance. When we arrived the doors were locked and the event was closed for a private gathering. An employee came out while we were outside and said it was our fault for not knowing there was an event that day. We should not have had to call back and re-confirm a reservation that was already confirmed. I called the winery the following week to complain and I was met by a general lack of interest in the fact that we had wasted a whole day by going all the way out there and having our reservation cancelled after we arrived. We do not recommend this place due to the inept reservation system and rude treatment. read more

Another great time at Aurora Colony Vineyards, this time at their 1st annual Jazz Festival. Great line up of performers including; Tom Grant, the Ron Steen Band, Rebecca Hardiman and Picante! 08/14/2021 I booked this date for a Tony Starlight event and dinner for 4 Was expensive. $35 each for the event ... Tony Starlight is worth it. $18 each for a lasagna and salad dinner. Lasagna was very good. Salad only average. No wine included but, added $3 for the plastic wine glass that you'll need for any wine bought. (wine glass will be taken off the tab, if you don't want to take it home, at the end.) Started with my dinner tickets were 'lost'. Thankfully, I had an email showing I purchased dinner. But, because the dinners weren't planned for, our '4 extra' dinners were half of what others had. That's ok, but discount please? Didn't happen. Salad had a hair in it ... that wasn't mine. Now a discount please? Still didn't happen. Ordered two cheesecakes for desserts. Finally, ONE of the 'frozen in the middle' cheesecake was comped for all the inconveniences. Thank you? ... Event was moved indoor due to extremely hot day. Ok, but moved into the chapel with very high vaulted ceilings. Sound was awful. Couldn't hear Tony Starlight very well if at all. It was very noisy due to the acoustics. The table in font of us SHOOSED us! but it was the table behind us, who were talking at a normal volume, again just bad acoustics. I understand the times we are in different times, but all I wanted was a comped bottle of wine for my friends and I to numb the unenjoyable time we were enduring. I won't go back. I did some wine tasting here the other day and found a Rose' that I love. It is the 2017 Rose' Pinot Noir. I bought some for my grandmother who loves wine and she kept wanting more! I also bought a red it was the 2014 Temprantill for my grandfather. He loved it and he does not usually like reds. That red wine was so good I don't like reds at all and I could drink a little. Will definitely be back. I also had the meat and cheese plate. It was very good. Very happy on everything there. Their staff was courteous and very warm. The woman who was working there both times I went in was very knowledgeable about the wines. Thank you for a good experience. read more

Terrible service!! Have no idea what the wine or food tastes like...left frustrated and hungry because they were grossly understaffed on a day that would be predictably busy.(Sunny Sunday the day of the nearby Tulip Festival) We were basically ignored, while people who came in after us were served first! I've been here once when my uncle was playing in the band. My aunt, Uncle and I all enjoyed our food and the service was great. I had the pulled pork bbq sliders with coleslaw and it was really tasty. Their sparkling wines were really good too. Definitely go back again one of these days. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place! It is a little oasis right in our neighborhood. My Mom and I were coming home from a picnic when we passed this place. The outdoor patio caught our eye and we decided to see what it was all about. They offer free tastings of any 3 wines or you can buy different options. At first we started off with the reds but loved them so much that we decided to try all of the whites. We are not typically fans of white wine but this winery makes some great whites! None of them are super sweet which is why we enjoyed every single one. The service was exceptional (Kirk was our wine connoisseur). We met the cook as well! Everyone was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and down to earth. My Mom and I both decided to join the wine club because we loved their wines so much. We enjoyed a meat and cheese plate where they allow you to pick your meat and cheese (generous portions) and we took our food and wine out to the patio. The landscaping is beautiful. We had a very relaxing time enjoying our wine and food. If you are looking for a quaint and lovely little winery, you should definitely stop by this one. It is well worth the stop! WE have been at this winery 3 times . The people behind the wine tasting bar have been from arrogant men to hired farming help to pretty girls w/o social skills . The food as been from excellent to mediocre. The prices are high w/o the sophistication that should come with it , but far from it , no savoir-faire exist in this winery . We had to get our own wine glasses and our bottles of wine from the bar , while we were at a reserve table for a birthday dinner party . We wont be back , it's sad since we live close by . The patio is lovely , but the view is facing a heavily traffic road . Trees are needed to seclude that space and make it charming and cozy . The grounds near the church are lovely , and should be use for more purposes than weddings . What a lost of beautiful grounds . This place resemble a clumsy person in a fine China shop . read more

This place was offering a promising brunch buffet for Mother's Day, to include french toast, pastries, varied proteins, fruit etc. for $50 per ticket. Given the location and live music, this seemed like a fair price. However, they called all of the tables in order, us being several tables from the end. By the time it was our turn, there were literal scraps leftover. No french toast, no potatoes, all of the "pastries" were clearly store bought and cold. No option to warm up the bagels. They had cut bananas in half, which were all browned by the time it was our turn. The sausage and bacon was the only part of the buffet that staff were serving, which despite there being no other food options, were still being stingy by offering one piece each. During the purchasing process, there was mandatory gratuity which is fine, we paid our 20% tip. However, at the event, there were additional signs saying we could tip the wait staff again. This would have been fine if the staff actuall served anything. During the two hour event, we had one staff fill our water glasses one time 15 minutes in, so we did not all need refills at the time. We saw one lady who's table was after ours, complaining to staff. The facial expressions on staff and their insistence they offered her half a serving of potatoes was dismissmive and unprofessional. Despite the ambience and good wine, we will not be returning for any future events due to these issues. read more

Really good wine! Nice outdoor space to sip your wine, delicious (and affordable) meat & cheese platter, and live music in the summer. Only downside is that staff can sometimes be unfriendly. We received no warmth from the folks pouring our wine or serving our food. Nobody even said "welcome in!" when we walked through the front door. We were just stared at rudely. Other customers even cut in front of us when we were next in line during the tasting, and the gal pouring did not even acknowledge their behavior. read more

Stopped in on Memorial Day and had a wonderful experience. The wine was exceptional as was the warmth and knowledge of Kirk as he poured. They have a great many opportunities scheduled and if we were locals we would definitely make this a frequent stop. read more

Visited on Saturday evening as it stays open til 8 pm. Had the red flight for $10.00.. Loved the pinot noirs (of course). Had goat cheese and fresh bread which complemented the wines well. Bought a bottle of pinot noir and got a free red flight. Friendly staff. read more

Stopped here on a road trip, short escape from the I-5. The property is beautiful and the wines are great. I like that they were not sweet like some of the other vineyards we stopped at. Bought the savignon blanc, wedding, and merlot. Staff were extremely friendly, glad we stopped! read more

Well first I'd lie to say I've been there twice now. I just found the place and it is an interesting relaxing place to go. However I am not sure if I will return. My first visit was very relaxed and inviting, the lady that was serving was very knowledgable and made the room feel fresh and clean and I food was really good. The guy doing food and the lady seemed to work as a team. Bought a couple bottles of some great wines. Based on my experience I decided to return and that is were I made my mistake. I went back midweek and there was a gentleman that, 1 made it feel like an inconvenience for me to be there, I wanted to retry a couple of wines. Then 2, lied to me, I was told that one of them had a 95 rating, after doing some research I found this not to be true. Yes the wine that the maker sales is rated at that, but the wine that they sale, it is really good, is not the same wine and the guy claims that it is. 3, the place was dirty, table tops, floor even the bar was in clean. The same guy was serving food, he was helpful and polite but seemed very busy but took he time to say "hello". I didn't order any food this time cause I felt sorry for the guy running around, while the other wine guy appeared to be doing nothing more then sitting in one of the over stuffed chairs. when I even tried to ask questions, the guy serving seemed more interested in the guy next to me in a suit and tie that had just arrived. So I left. And as I left, I heard the server say, see I told you not a single tip. I decided then that I won't return as, at least if I see this guy working. It's all about the money to him. I watch for when I see one of the other two working. But it is a shame, it is a really nice place. read more

The owner and his son are very rude or at least that's who they said they were. I WOULD NEVER HOLD A PRIVATE EVENT HERE. I was part of a catering team that were waiting to set up. Evidently we were informed of the wrong time to arrive. They both were very upset with us they were very indifferent the owner actually hollered at us, they acted like we committed a crime. Too bad I would have enjoyed coming back at a later date and maybe buy some wine not a chance now there are a variety of vineyards that are far more hospitable. I would not have given even one star but I didn't have that option. read more

CAUTION! I was on a catering crew and the management were so unprofessional and were screaming about everything. I felt to sorry for my boss, he is legally blind and physically handicapped (on a "Hoveround". They were upset because we arrived at 5:15PM for a 6:PM serving time. They thought we were too early. This place has no facilities for caterers to work. We were outside in 96 degree heat. They had not furnished the tables that were promised and we had to remove umbrellas from the patio tables and move them so we had something to work on. The owner and his son kept saying that we were trying to set up the linens and decorations, we didn't have anything to do with that, just the food. We just wanted to set up our work area. We were told to move out van, when we were unloading, yet they parked their vehicles in the same spot later. The son, left and brought back a large dog and sat 8 feet from our food prep area smoking cigarettes. My boss put himself and the "Hoveround" between us and the dog. They had someone sit there the entire 4.5 hours we were there. We were made to feel like convicts on a work detail. The important thing to us was that the client was happy. The owner later apologized to our boss blaming the heat for his "coming down so hard". It also might have been because he found out that the clients and my boss are close friends. I would never recommend this venue to anyone. They are inexcusably unprofessional and rude and bullied a very kind handicapped man for no reason. Our boss directed us to ignore them and be professional for the clients sake. read more

Aurora Colony Vineyard was the perfect place for our son's rehearsal dinner. We were looking for an outdoor patio area for about 80 and this fit us perfectly. We had the dinner at the wine tasting room and patio area outside. The newly created patio area has beautiful hanging flower baskets, market lighting, and the garden/vineyard setting is simply gorgeous. We also liked that we were able to use the wine tasting room which is also very lovely with hardwood tables and a beautiful bar. We used this indoor space for the buffet table and drinks. As well as being a beautiful place, working with Jennifer was the most pleasant experience. Her suggestions, resources, and ability to be in front of any questions or issues, were impeccable. Jennifer is the kindest person you'll ever meet and makes everyone feel as though you're a friend. All that to say, we couldn't have been more impressed or appreciative of the facilities and services that we received from Aurora Colony Vineyards. We were from out of town but they all made us feel right at home. read more
