Worst service I have ever experienced. The server made a mistake, and then continued to argue with me to the point that I actually asked her if she argued with all of the customers. The manager saw everything and did not even come by our table. I NEVER care if there is a mistake made in a restaurant; things happen. It is how you correct the mistake that will set you apart. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. We went there a couple of weeks ago with friends for dinner and our Pasta dish was very dry I've had very little sauce. When we complained on the phone when we got home they were extremely accommodating and felt terrible, saying that dish should not have been served in that fashion and apologized profusely. They told they would give us a full credit if we would just come back and try it again. We did so last night and, while we ordered a different dish, it was truly fantastic. I had the salmon and a delicious Caesar salad and my wife have the branzino and gazpacho. I could tell you that the food was delicious (it was), the service wonderful (it was) and the atmosphere both contemporary and comfortable (it was), but all of that paled in comparison to the fact that the acoustics are so atrocious that all I could hear was the overwhelming cacophony of the other patrons. We had reservations and arrived promptly, however, from the minute we were seated we were not given even a minute before the wait staff approached asking what we would like to order. Felt like we were rushed the entire night. Bus staff very rude clearing off table while we were still sipping our coffee. When we wanted an after dinner drink were told " no" because they needed the table. As someone who eats out almost every weekend and likes to try different restaurants, I will not be recommending Aurora! read more

Got Chicken Parm, which wasn't on the menu but they made it for me. Also got the chopped salad as an app. Funny thing, the waiter had no clue abt which dressing went on it. He couldn't even name it. Great service and a friendly staff. They have a 1/2 priced wine night on Tuesdays and the lunch specials are very good as well. You can order 2 course or 3 course with a dessert and even the wine is on special for $6 a glass. I love the potato gnocchi and have tried several other dishes that were excellent as well. read more

My friends and I have an annual holiday dinner. For the past several years, we have been meeting at Aurora. Last night, I was extremely disappointed in how we were treated. We had just paid the bill and were chatting (it was around 8:45) as we don't see each other often. We were first approached by the waiter to move to the bar because someone was waiting for our table. We were appalled by this and asked for the manager who then proceeded to reiterate this point. I have never experienced this before in a restaurant and certainly will not be returning to this restaurant again. read more

Having been to other Z Hospitality restaurants, my expectations were high when I tried Aurora for lunch and Wow it did not disappoint! The restaurant is beautiful! It was filled with a nice lunchtime crowd but we had no trouble getting a nice table. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food, especially the Organic Salmon was delicious and expertly prepared. I would go back again as well as my lunch companion - a real treasure! I give it 5 stars! read more

Wonderful! I had the 2 course express lunch. I started with the goat cheese fritter, marinated beets and baby arugula salad and for my lunch I had the Pan-Fried Chicken Milanese. Server was attentive, food was fresh and had a nice presentation. Delicious bread too! I look forward to returning soon! read more

Great place for a sit down meal in a local and quiet place

Cute restaurant in downtown Rye, NY. My family and I have been patrons of Aurora for years. Great place to bring the kids and enjoy some gourmet pizza and also a great place to just go with the husband for a "date night". I am a fan of the Eggplant Parmesan dish and would highly recommend it. Aurora also has and excellent wine selection. I do agree with a previous post that notes the restaurant could use some interior updating which is the reason I did not give Aurora 5 stars. read more

This restaurant is nice but is a bit on the smaller side and extremely loud that I could barely hear anything my husband said the entire night. The menu offers good selections but if you are someone with allergies like me, then this is not the place for you. I was extremely unpleased about the fact that the restaurant was unwilling to modify an entree to fit my allergies and needs. Most places my husband and I dine at in NY & CT are always very understanding of allergies/special dietary requests and will always accommodate the best they can, but Auora would not. I understand some restaurants won't sub or modify meals to complicate the kitchen or chef, I completely understand, but The waiter was extremely rude and completely disregarded a simple request. He didn't at all make any efforts to respect my allergies and told me to just pick something else off the menu. As a restaurant, the mission should be to try accommodate the needs of every single customer that walks through the door, and have them leave feeling taken care of knowing that they will return again in the future. Auora did none of such. I'm just completely disappointed with this place and will never return. read more

We have dined here on two previous occasions and had good service and enjoyed our meals. However, we will never go back. The stem of my wine glass broke shattering glass over our table and spilling the beverage all over my boots and cashmere sweater. (Luckily, we hadn't received our food yet- But decided to forgo the butter and bread with glass shards). The floor was never cleaned underneath our table nor did a manager ever visit our table to see if we were okay. To our surprise we were charged for the original drink as well as the second drink replacing the spilled originals. I worked for one of the largest restaurant chains (3 casual dining 1 upscale steakhouse) and we never treated our customers this way. Managers were sent to tables as a safety and risk management protocol and complimentary dry cleaning and drinks were always taken care of to ensure return customers. I'll take my dry cleaning bill and bad experience as a sign not to return. read more

My wife and I ate their on a busy Friday night. It is a little tight and small inside but workable, the decor is exquisite, the food is very high quality. We had: Appetizers: (1) Mussels and (2) Calamari = she very much liked the mussels and I very much liked the calamari. The quality was very high. Wine: 2 glasses, the Pinot Noir I highly recommend. 2nd Course: we had a margarita pizza, it was very good, not as good as Johnnys in Mt Vernon though. Main Course: She had Salmon with was cooked somewhat black and blue, it tasted excellent and melted in her mouth, she loved the potatoes that came with that, I ordered the Chicken caccitori which was very tasty lots of flavor, but I thought there was more spinach and mashed potatoes on the plate than their was meat. We were too stuffed to order desert. I am handicap and this place is not very handicap accessible. There is one step in the front and no steps in the back but a very difficult terrain in the back = I would like to have seen something completely handicap accessible from the back, and with the snow/ice it made it more treacherous as they could have done a better job cleaning the entryway. But a couple people helped me in and out = although I would have preferred being able t get in on my own. read more
