I don't think the manager with a pony tail cares about this place. I sent back the cheese fondue, it was rubbery and not something you can eat. He walked down looked at me and walked away. Had breakfast here yesterday with a group of six. The staff was friendly and efficient! Think our server was new, but she did a great job! Five of us had the omelet special - $5.95! and one had benedict. Everyone really enjoyed their meal! Fresh squeezed juice in the Drivers, near perfect hash browns, and really good grits! They also said they had their burgers on special for $5.95! (Not sure if just on Saturday?) Will definitely be back for breakfast and lunch! read more

First visit here and we came for breakfast. The crispy hash browns are perfect! French toast was delicious - made from a baguette - so no sogginess! The chorizo in the Santa Fe omelette was full of flavor. Very friendly, prompt service. Only criticism was the dry texture of the omelette itself. Oh, and the coffee is great! read more

I went in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The food was okay and the service was very slow and inattentive considering that it wasn't terribly busy. The ham in the eggs Benedict was overcooked. My friends and I started coming here for the trivia night and we have absolutely fallen in love with the entire place. The staff is so helpful and welcoming. Finally! A great new place on Aurora that has very tasty food, a full service restaurant and an amazing bar and stage on the lower floor. Had the filet mignon for dinner which was done perfectly medium rare and melted in my mouth. My son had a burger which came with delicious fries which always make or break the meal for me. After dinner, we went downstairs to listen to a comedian followed by a local band. The downstairs bar area is huge with a massive screen and monitors throughout. Can definitely see myself here watching the Seahawks or Champions League soccer matches. Very glad to have a quality restaurant and bar in the area that doesn't require going through tons of traffic and has lots of parking. read more

Ate here for the first time today and overall it was good. Polite staff, clean restaurant. I ordered the carnitas breakfast burrito and while it was good, adding in some roasted onions and bell pepper, or even pico di gallo right into the burrito itself would have upped the flavor factor. The burrito itself is pretty big too and I had to ask for another side of pico for the other half - it would have been nice it a little larger side of pico and a few more slices of avocado were given with the dish as it's a pretty big portion. My husband had the signature scramble and it looked delicious. He did prefer an english muffin over toast and got charged an extra $1.50 for that - kind of lame as most breakfast places give an English muffin as an option, not given at an extra charge. But overall the meal was good so we will definitely be coming back in the near future. read more

I've been a few times. Food was fantastic! Service was great! Really friendly and love having this venue in Shoreline! Having said that, I haven't been back and had to think about why. The reason I gave only 3 stars and have not gone back is because the lighting in the space makes me uncomfortable. Sounds crazy picky but others I know feel similarly. The lighting looks interesting but the space is too evenly lit with LEDs that are cool in color. Whoever did the lighting design did a disservice to this restaurant venue. The lighting should be warmer with variation. Brighter over the tables and less bright for circulation. Every time I think about going back, I remember how uncomfortable it is to be in the space. Please, please, please spend a few thousand dollars, hire a great lighting designer and change the lighting design! It could be as simple as getting a dimming system or removing a few lights. It would be money well spent. read more

I brought in a group of twelve for dinner one Friday Night and the service was seamless, as it always is. The restaurant itself has a very cool vibe, unlike anything else in Shoreline. I have not been to anything at the event center on the lower level yet but most weekends it seems to be packed. read more

My friend and I had dinner there tonight and it was delicious. I highly recommend the pot roast. It was so tender and juicy. They offered a choice of mashed or baked potato and I asked for mashed. They brought me a baked , but I didn't say anything. I'm glad I didn't because it was topped with cheese, sour cream and scallions which was amazing. I had the grand marnier french toast and my husband had the biscuits and gravy. Both were delightful! We were pleasantly surprised and happy to find a breakfast place within walking distance. DO NOT ORDER EGGS BENEDICTS HERE!!! Apparently the cook working on Sunday morning, June 5th, 2022 doesn't know how to cook breakfast/brunch. I ordered the southwestern Benedict SOFT poached and my hash browns EXTRA crispy and what did I get?! I got hard poached eggs...hard boiled basically, not even a crispy bit on my hash browns, AND the carnitas had absolutely NO CHAR on it!!! I received the absolute opposite of what I ordered! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE as my mother and I owned a restaurant in Sedona, Arizona. It was probably the worst eggs Benedict I've ever had!!! Either that cook has a huge ego and couldn't stand the thought of a customer asking for a little extra work or he doesn't really know how to cook!!! All I know is that the cooks were 2 young guys, probably in their 20s, that more than likely didn't want to be there and with little to no experience in a professional kitchen. Either way I will NOT recommend this place to anyone I know as this was the first restaurant I've been to since the start of the pandemic. My family and I have been eating at the Aurora Borealis since it opened. We love supporting local businesses. We brought our parents, kids, and even co-workers to your restaurant. During the height of the pandemic last year, we ordered take out and 3 out of the 4 meals were not as ordered. I called the restaurant, and they stated that when we were ready to order again they would compensate us for the 3 meals. They took my name and number down. On January 30th, I wanted to treat my family to breakfast, so called last week and talked to Robin who talked to Lyndsey. Lyndsey called me back later that afternoon, she said that she would compensate us for our meals that were done incorrectly. I called the restaurant today (2/06), and spoke with Maddie and Robin and they couldn't find the note Lyndsey had left, so they would reach out to her. When I didn't hear back, I called a second time because lunch time was slipping away, and they said Lyndsey would need to call me. I asked them if they could just talk to Lyndsey, but they hung up on me instead. I called back and it went to voice messaging. So, I went to speak with the manager. It was apparent from the start of the conversation, when she stated that only she had the authority to offer compensation for meals and not Lyndsey. I told her my story, and she says where's your receipt, did you bring the food back...any person could come in here and claim this. She indirectly called me a liar and then she told me she didn't like me harassing her staff on the phone. She was not deescalating the situation she was inflaming it. Her voice was raised and her body language and demeanor was very aggressive. She was like a bully trying to assert her dominance. I told her I would be writing a review or talking to someone, and that's when she told me to get out of her restaurant. She would do well with sensitivity training and anger management classes. It was one of the most terrible interactions with a restaurant staff member I have ever encountered. Lyndsey did call me to apologize, and offered me a gift card. I told her that this experience with her manager has left me disheartened in supporting her business. I also told her it is a great loss that goes far beyond one disgruntled person. I grew up and own a business in the Shoreline area, but after this interaction, my family, friends and co-workers will not be supporting this local business. read more

I watched an Evening Magazine review of this restaurant so was enthusiastic to try it. We went for breakfast before a Husky game. I had chicken and waffles. How do you make that poorly?! Really bad. The place was freezing. All of us kept out coats on and service was nonexistent for the first half hour. Evening Magazine must have been paid to have them on their broadcast. I've been wanting to eat at this restaurant for many months but because of the COVID closures today was my first visit. 3 of of had lunch. I'd heard the burgers were good so ordered their basic burger substituting onion rings for the fries. Some of the best onion rings I've ever had and the burger was loaded with everything I like on a fresh brioche bun. Go for the music or go for the food, just don't go for both. We got tickets to see a band I like and made reservations for dinner. I made a note on the online reservation asking for a table with a decent view of the stage. When we arrived we found out that the dining area and the music venue are separate with no reservations taken in the music venue. We weren't terribly pleased with the remaining table selection. After nearly a half hour waiting to be at least acknowledged we finally got a drink order and menus. Too much time passed before she returned to take our dinner order. Again, after too much time the manager comes out to tell us they're out of Shrimp and Grits. Really??!? Shouldn't the kitchen manager have notified the waitstaff of these things. We were kind of pissed off by the lack of management skills by this time and decided not to eat. Now for the drinks. My partner has a finely honed palate when it comes to vodka and when her requested Grey Goose tonic came her face wrinkled and she said "That's not Grey Goose". Even I could tell it was well brand vodka. I asked for a beer and tomato juice. I got a bottle and small glass of tomato juice, no pounder glass to mix it in. I can't blame the waitress, the management left her grossly understaffed. If I owned the joint I'd fire the management. On the plus side the acoustics of the listening room are decent and they book quality acts. *IF* I ever go back I'll make sure to eat somewhere else on the way. read more
