This was our second visit to this Aurelio's. The first time we went there we ordered pasta. It was good but not amazing. When we went back with our friends they turned us on to the thin crust pizza. We split their "works" pizza with our spinach and tomato. Both pizzas were excellent, especially the one with everything on it. We ordered two deep dish cookie desserts. Really good, but one would have been enough for all of us. Server was helpful but not pushy. We will be back! read more

The Thin crust pizza here is quite good here, and so is the cheesy garlic bread... the restaurant itself is also very nice and in a good location... The reason i'm giving it 3 stars is because i ordered a 16 inch pepperoni and onion pizza and it was nearly $30 dollars.... it just seams quite pricey for thin crust pizza read more

We had the pizza delivered and found it to be inedible. Don't know what everyone is talking about - the crust is terrible - the dog didn't even want a nibble. The sauce is bland - yech! We threw it away and will never order again. There are too many excellent pizza places near this place to have to suffer eating this mess. Been my favorite pizza spot for years. The sauce, the crust, the cheese - it all comes together so well. Usually order a thin crust with pineapple and sausage and it always comes out perfect. The atmosphere is fun and pays homage to the surrounding towns with historical pictures and Burlington Railroad signs all around. It's also great to see most of the host and waitstaff is made up by area teens most likely working their first part time job. I think it's great the owner, Ross gives such an opportunity for this as most businesses in the area seem to be staffed only by those who are older. Do yourself a favor and stop by. Dont get me wrong, the pizza tastes great. But the appitizers are obviously frozen from start and way over-priced. The pizza is half-assed when they get busy. Their dilivery time is absolutely ridiculous. They care more about cutting costs then actually taking care of the customer or having actual quality in waht they serve. Service is always a joke here. This is the second time after a long while I received the same treatment as if my order didn't exist when I could clearly hear the individual my wife gave the order to, sounded just like the person I greeted half an hour after I got there. Someone who takes an order for four gluten free pizzas typically remembers something about it 30 min later. After walking out and coming back in with my wife on the phone it still took me an unnecessary amount of persuading the hostess who took the order then the guy who seemed like a manager of some sort to double check every which way to find the order. I even gave them the number I called and asked if there was another couple of lines because all the first eight numbers matched with the exception of the last two. What are the odds the next Aurelio's over 5 miles away had a similar number minus the last two digits. Finally it was found. From a restaurant owners perspective this is why businesses don't succeed. I paid over $70 for some pizzas. That's enough to pay a part time hostess for the day. Hope the owner acknowledges this. I'd hate to lose money because the primary people of contact are a bit neglecting. Since the owner reached out to me and extended a more sincere apology I'd hate to ruin a rep I'm sure he worked hard to achieve. Changing my review to 4 stars. read more

I was raised on Aurelios...except I had the good fortune of the original one...which was always tons better than the other locations. This new one in LaGrange is an exception to that rule....and I should know....I've eaten a LOT of Aurelios. I have long considered Aurelios the upper echelon of chicago pizza. They have such a unique sauce, you really get cravings for it....that are far beyond your standard pizza craving. I'm talking about pee on a stick to make sure I'm not pregnant cravings....completely unstoppable. This Aurelios....FINALLY....satisfies. Great little place to eat if your going out....but never a bad choice for pickup or delivery either. For how much better it is than other pizza, you cant really take issue with the prices either. Yeah, its a bit up there....but so worth it....especially when your trying to itch that craving. Dont be fooled....pizza is not the only thing Aurelios does well. You'd do well to check out the other menu items. You can find some amazing appetizers and some pretty special italian dinner options as well. If you've never tried....stop reading....call em up and get yourself your new favorite thing. You will be glad you did....you have my personal guarantee. It may not become a weekly thing...but I would bet that you find your way back every now and again.... it just does that to you. OMG, so as if the ooey gooey cheese with extra sweet sauce for my one day per week cheat day wasn't FAB enough by Aurelio's, BUT they are forgiving, a family ran business, and just "super" nice and warm. Just when I thought I'd have to go hungry this one nite... Many times after a long work week, I am not in the mood for the over jovial young and family ran staff, so lately I have been ordering in. So you assume, delivery is delivery, right? NOT! Not only are the drivers smiling with your hot and marvelous pie, but they know your name and address when you call- feel like a celeb just for ordering a thin crust! Pardon my rambling. Anyway, unfortunately, I had some emergency issue with my bankcard- totally unexpected and super saddened by this apparently mass freeze of a known bank to many accounts. Frantic, the owner, was kind enough to deliver my pie anyway, and allow me to bring the money, or pay the following day! They THANKED me for returning and tipping the driver. Seriously? WOW! AMAZED. This place is the best. The pizza is delicious, even though it is kind of different from normal pizza. It has a thinner crust and really good cheese. I'm from the East Coast too, and it is not the same as pizza at home, it is totally different but also delicious. The stuffed spinach things are sooo good -- I can't remember what they're called. Service was great -- I went when they just opened and the place was totally packed but I still got seated and got my food really fast, and bartenders were great while we waited for a table. Just left here with two friends and I have to admit, I was amazed. I'd heard good things. Pizza is great, service top notch, etc. But my experience was far above those expectations. Our pizza, the Super Six, is really a delight. Just the right amount of sauce, the toppings were generous, the crust crisp and tasty in a way I can't describe. Garbage salad was fresh and delicious. We sat in the bar and sampled a couple of ice cold beers- some of the coldest I've had of late. We had fun with the other diners and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Oh, boy. Such delicious pizza, such a bad recent experience. Dinner with a few people here is fine, but BEWARE, they can't handle any sort of large group despite taking a reservation and receiving two follow-ups from the customer(one phone call, one personal visit). Our group lunch turned into a three hour fiasco. Our server was very nice and doing the best she could, but one person can only do so much. 20 minutes between arrival and drinks, 50 minutes until our appetizer order was taken, over TWO HOURS until we got our pizzas. Drink refills were virtually non-existent, they ran out of plates and salad dressing containers, and the pizza was finally delivered luke-warm. My subsequent to the restaurant to visit with the manager and give him a chance to make it right (I believe it was management's fault, absolutely not the serviers) resulted in no offer to make the situation better(though, to be fair, I didn't ask for compensation). In the end, our dinner was more expensive then we planned because of all the extra appetizers we had to order to keep our guests from passing out from hunger while we waited for our meal. Delicious pizza, very poorly managed. Next time we'll find somewhere that can handle it. Certainly not this Aurelio's. I don't like to call out my local places, but if this review helps one family to avoid the stress and embarrassment caused to me by the incompetence I experienced on my most recent visit to this Aurelio's, then I believe it's worth it. read more

I don't often write reviews, bit in this case I think it's time well spent. I grew up going to Aurelio's in Homewood for most family outings. Aurelio's brings back memories of childhood more than anyplace else. And the LaGrange franchise does a wonderful job of keeping those memories alive. The food is as good as I remember from Homewood, and the restaurant itself is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal. I am always happy to hear when a family dinner is planned for Aurelio's in LaGrange. Saturday night, May 26th, My girlfriend and I came in to Aurelio's with a positive attitude ready to eat some good pasta. We sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant. We were ignored for at least 10 mins. Trying to give the benefit of the doubt to the servers since they seemed fairly busy and we both happen to work in the industry. After that, we saw a gentleman that looked like the manager and told him our situation. He happily was able to take our whole order which was food and drinks combined. I noticed he wasn't writing anything down and I told him it was no problem for him to grab some paper. He insisted on taking the whole order. Our salads came out fine, they were good. Our pastas followed after, looked amazing, but my meat sauce that I had specifically asked for in the beginning was only marinara. (AGAIN, NO BIG DEAL. WE ARE SERVERS. MISTAKES HAPPEN.) I asked for some meat sauce on the side and the server was happy to get it. During this, the gentleman (manager on duty/ OWNER) came to ask how things were, and we said good but politely stated that it was supposed to be meat sauce not marinara. He said I'll get that for you right away, not apologizing and owning up to his mistake. I said no problem, our waitress is getting it for us. He walked away. At this point, we believe our experience was getting ridiculous. Not to mention, table bread was supposed to come with our pasta, which it didn't. Our server boxed up our leftovers, and we mentioned that we wanted our bread to be put in our boxes. The server told us bread doesn't come with. My girlfriend said, if I'm wrong, don't put it in. Then we decided we should be accommodated for all these simple mistakes, and that something should be taken off the bill on principle alone. We saw the bill, nothing was taken off. My girlfriend proceeded to approach the manager to explain and apologize for the trouble, but something needed to be done. He cut her off and said, NOTHING IS GETTING COMPT, PAY YOUR BILL AND GET OUT! He also threw the bill at her feet. Let me mention again, this is the OWNER. I got up to try and reason with this guy, but he said that he didn't have to listen to us. He threatened to call the cops multiple times, as well as repeating "GET THE F*** OUT AND PAY YOUR BILL" and I responded by saying call the cops so we can explain whats really going on, but he then said he knows every cop in town and they will just throw us out anyway. Nothing was being done for us and we were in so much shock that someone in the industry, let alone the OWNER would react in such a childish manner. I was infuriated, that I gave him my credit card to end this AWFUL EXPERIENCE, in hindsight wishing I hadn't done so because I didn't want to support his business in any way. He also told us not to tip the waitress. Poor girl looked like a deer in the headlights. While signing the slip, I continued to say this is BS and he said don't swear at me. Funny how he was yelling the F word at me a minute beforehand. What a hypocrite and LIAR! We finally left. THIS OWNER IS NAMED ROSS BARNARD! Aurelio's has some of the best thin crust in the area. The sauce and the sausage are both excellent and the thin crust holds up the ingredients well. My major gripe with this place is the price. End up spending around 30 bucks for a pizza (half cheese/half sausage). When compared to Giordano's, the value is just not there. But, if you're willing to spend the extra money, it is a solid thin crust. read more

on saturday night, my husband and i were only half way home, another 40 miles to go, when we stopped off in lagrange for a pizza at aurelio's and a chance to watch one of the final four matches. we had one of the best waiters (named matt) that i have had in a very long, long time, (from any restaurant!) he was pleasantly attentive, engaging, without being overly present like some are. we ordered a spinach salad to split (med) and then a large thin pizza with, spinach, mushroom, onion, red and green peppers and then mushrooms on only half. when it arrived it was topped to the max and looked like ingredients were freshly picked from the garden! you have to order this one. it is now our new favorite.my husband siad his glass of red was 'satisfying'. i told the waiter that 'he was exceptional at what he does'. he told us that working in a family pizzeria is what he always wanted to do, and that he liked it there". well, it shows! next time you go to aurelios, ask for matt and tell him his new friends from buffalo grove said 'hi". read more

The La Grange Aurillio's does not have that chain pizza place feel. It is homie and the food is great. The also have great gluten free pizza. They also have a cute bar area if you feel like watching a game. I am a big fan of Aurillios. read more

I'm not sure why this place is so popular. Yes, the crust is good, but that's the only thing that was. There was so much grease on the cheese it actually congealed when it cooled and they used canned, yes canned, mushrooms. Come on, how hard is it to use fresh? And this isn't cheap pizza either folks. Maybe it's because I'm from the East Coast originally, but I've had way better and can't recommend this pizza. There is no way I'd go back. It's not cheap, but for a little more, I think Lucca's in La Grange wins hands down for pizza in this town. read more

For a born and bred Chicagoan, I am picky about pizzas but Aurelios passes the test with flying colors. Every Aurelios is not the same, but this one has been consistently good in the past 3 years I have visited. Good enough that instead of trekking to one of the more famous places for deep dish, we take our out of town guests here for a taste of Chicago pizza and we all leave with happy tummies and smiles on our faces. I went to Aurelio's last night for another wonderful meal. I have been there multiple times over the past few years and every time I leave exceptionally full yet still looking forward to the next time - the next visit is never soon enough. Ordered a pizza for dinner last night. I have been a fan of Aurelio's Pizza for 30+ years. The pizza was not up to its usual quality. Crust too thick, not enough sauce and too heavy on the cheese. I hope this is an isolated experience and not another franchise going down hill. For half the price (and Aurelio's is not cheap) I could have picked up a frozen "Vito and Nic's" and had a pizza of superior quality and taste. I have been using this store for carryouts, I was at this store 4/5/2012 at 1140am.. I thought to take my son of 15yrs of age with me to finally try Aurelio's out dinning in..We also for the first time tried their Deep Dish Pizza(Medium)..Well being 1st timer's of their Deep Dish we started eating the pizza, I noticed that the crust was kind of over done(but Being Aureilo's we continued), After the 1st piece we attempted a second this time scrapping off the too much sauce, which covered a BURNT PIZZA!! We were asked by the waitress and commented on this travesty!! Which the Owner came and saw the pizza was burnt, his main concern was that we already ate 1/2 the pizza(2pieces each) By which he surmised that we shouldn't have eaten so much if it was bad, EXCUSE US for TRUSTING AUREILO"S!! He gave us three 5 dollar coupons and CHARGED US FULL PRICE ON THE BURNT PIZZA!! That we had FOUR NOT FULLY EATEN PIECES!! Come on were is CUSTOMER SERVICE,, WERE I will TELL YOU ALL in Willowbrook at a Pizza Parlor that is Customer Orientated and Knows that if a mistake on their part is there, They DO NOT CHARGE FULL PRICE FOR A HALF EATEN BRUNT PIZZA!! Tried Aurelio's instead of my usual pizza place, since they were open on memorial day. Not impressed. For being about 10 dollars higher than my usual pizza place, the pizza was greasy and the crust seemed undercooked. I don't see myself ordering from here again. Historically, I would only eat deep dish pizza. Aurelio's turned me on to thin crust and their thin crust meat ball is now my favorite pizza. Their deep dish is also very good and is done differently than other places. Other than pizza, the sub sandwiches are excellent. Other items are standard fare for a casual, family restaurant. In other words, I wouldn't go there if I didn't want pizza. The restaurant itself is very clean. There are TVs typically showing sporting events. The service is inconsistent, and, at busy times, getting the attention of the wait staff can be difficult. Parking, especially on Friday and Saturday, can be difficult. read more

I used to love Aurelio's pizza when we lived on the southside, and we ordered from Palos Heights, Frankfort and Homewood at various times. When we moved to LaGrange, I was happy to find an Aurelio's. I wish I could give a 0 rating! We live in the area, and have been several times! EVERY time the service is terrible and the food takes a long time! We had take out tonight and the kitchen royally screwed up our order, when we called to speak with a manager we were told NO we could not speak to one! We were then told a manager was not there then a manager was too busy then for us to wait while they got the GM to speak to us! Hmmmm I think you should tell all your employees the same lie to tell your costumers before dodging complaints! I've worked in the industry for over 15 years, you never tell a customer no nor do you not have a manager around to take care of business! OK, will be honest and admit I only frequent this restuarant when I visit Chicago to see my daughter, but it has always been awesome. The servers are great and the menu options are incredible. My family and i went to Aurelios on a Friday night for there pizza. We got there and you could tell they were very busy. The hosts were so accomadating and nice and got us a table as soon as one opened. we sat down and we knew we had to order their sausage pizza. Our waitress brought it out to us in a timley fashion. What a waste of money! Now I know this is a pizza place and we ordered sandwiches, so maybe I was expecting too much. However, when I pay 8.99 for a sandwich, I expect it to be a fairly reasonably sized sandwich, not a child-size literally not even 5 inches long. And the skinny style rolls, more like the size of a short hot dog bun. We ordered four different sandwiches at a cost of $44 and some cents for delivery. The beef sandwich tasted like beef you would buy at the deli at Jewel, and absolutely no au jus to speak of. Very dry. and the bread, while the menu said toasted, to me it tasted more like stale. The chicken sandwich came on what one could only call a square kaiser roll. The chicken was dry and tasted funny. The Italian sub, also dry and definitely not what I consider to be an Italian sub. And the meatball sandwich, actually the best of the 4 sandwiches, I would only give a two. Maybe the pizza is better than the sandwiches but I doubt that I would ever take a chance on wasting that much money again when there are so many other, better choices.
