Posto 31 is located in Lagrange Park which is just slightly outside and west of the city. Their restaurant week deal is $45 per person for dinner and every adult in the party is required to participate. We tried the following: 1) Pork belly with a brown butter sweet potato mash and apple slaw - This was a delicious and refreshing appetizer. The fat isn't excessive and there is a good sear with the pork belly. I think it was different in a sense that it didn't exactly go with the Italian theme. 2) Arancini with chicken, parmesan, mozzarella, and marinara. This is the standard fare and you can't go wrong with this selection. 3) Faroe Island salmon with squash puree and Brussel sprout slaw. The salmon was well executed and I loved how it was paired with the slaw. 4) Arrabbiata with squid ink linguini and jumbo shrimp. This was the star of the night and what drew our attention when we first reviewed the restaurant week menu. It is rare to find squid ink linguini in the city and neighboring suburbs. The portion was huge and the flavors were absolutely delicious. We are already planning a return to order this again. 5) Tiramisu was the standard fare and once again, the portion was huge. We demolished it though. 6) Cookie skillet had a square of chocolate chip cookie topped with candied pretzels, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. We did not get to try it because our girls just took it to town. So needless to say, it was thoroughly enjoyed. We also ordered the kids' an eight inch pepperoni pizza. It was more than enough for our two girls to share.

The meatball was soft and juicy, almost melting a bit when you bite in. The marinara had that rich tomato flavor, a little tangy but smooth. The cheese brought everything together, all melted into the bread so every bite felt creamy and savory at the same time. Then the hot peppers hit and gave it that kick that cuts through all the richness. Every bite had a mix of everything, all working together. Definitely left full, and I'll be coming back for more.

They have a lot of non-meat protein options that is why the first time my husband and I came here on a Friday (of Lent), we did not have any problems. Main dishes usually come with soup or salad and bread service. The bread is soft and delicious. I have to remind myself not to eat the whole basket of bread to have room for my main dish! We have gone back here about 2 more times within 1 month. That says a lot about how much we love our experience every time we come. These are the dishes that we have tried: Cream of Broccoli, Minestrone, Pasta e Fagioli, Fettuccine Alfredo w/ mushrooms and spinach, Eggplant Parmesan, Veal Parmigiana, Spaghetti Calamari, Zucchini Parmesan, and Shrimp Diavalo. The food was excellent, service and staff were amazing and so accommodating. We had a guest who was lactose intolerant and they made a special appetizer and dessert for her. The funeral was for my father, and davanti was one of my favorite parent's restaurants. We needed to coordinate some last minute adjustments and Suzie was responsive, easy going, and genuinely invested in making sure every detail came together seamlessly! The venue itself is stunning. It has this rich, rustic elegance with exposed stone walls, warm wood tones, and the most beautiful candlelit chandelier that creates such an intimate, inviting atmosphere. We had a great time, with great service and really good old fashioned Italian food!!! For our appetizer, we had the sausage and peppers. GAME CHANGER!!! Neither of us had eaten this classic Italian appetizer before and Francesca's version was a great introduction to this dish. Surprisingly, it was NOT the sausage that was the star of this presentation - it was the sauce and the peppers. The sauce was part top notch olive oil, part Italian seasonings and it was a wonderfully delicious background to each bite. The peppers (green, red & yellow) were perfectly cooked, luxuriously soft but still with a little crisp to them. Those peppers were perfectly cooked! I do think the sausage, while okay, was not up to the standard of the rest of this dish. For my main, I had the Linguini Alla Caruso - shrimp, garlic, olive oil with a basil-pine nut pesto sauce. It was very good, very good. Be warned though the sauce leans a little to the sour or harsh flavor. Not too bad, I certainly ate it up, but there was certainly a sharp taste every once in a while. My spouse had Dana's Bolognese. He was very happy with it! The overwhelming reaction to our main dishes was "holy crap" that's a lot of food! The dishes were as large as a coffee table and we NEVER could have eaten all that food no matter how long we sat there at dinner. Each dish was big enough to feed both of us and several people at nearby tables!!! But the best part of Francesca's on 95th was the service. Everyone was so friendly, so nice, hard working and willing to take care of our every need. Seriously, the staff worked their butts off and provided some of the best service I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Hats off to everyone from the hostess to the server to the bus people.
