I see that I reviewed Pisa Pizza 8 years ago. I was reading very recent reviews saying that there are new owners and the pizza wasn't very good. I just ordered 2 16" thin crust pies and both were delicious. More than enough toppings on both. Not sure why the negative reviews but I suggest you try them yourselves. They are delicious and I still recommend them. read more

Ya know it's got a lot going for it- wonderfully tucked away but easy access location, simple fun name + menu and pretty darn good Pie. Fault is it ain't great pie, but almost. Delivery takes hour plus for 1.6 miles but we'll blame that one Friday night traffic. Would give 5/5 if prices matched pie but currently priced at great pie & they serve almost great -uncle yumēmæ jr., esq read more

Pisa Pizza - Cheese tavern - Pizza Near Me - Countryside, Illinois

We have been searching for a local place that does tavern style well and Pisa is it!! Great crispy cracker crust, sauce isn't too sweet, and the people who work there couldn't be nicer. Their delivery is great. read more

Pisa Pizza - Sausage, onion, and garlic. - Pizza Near Me - Countryside, Illinois

The original owners sold the business. We no longer order from Pisa. The pizza has lost its magic. The sauce, the crust, the skimpy ingredients, the flavor--all downhill. What happened Pisa? We ask for extra sauce and that doesn't happen. Pisa went from being affordable to having outrageous prices for a round circle of burnt dough, a spoonful of sauce and a smatter of toppings. What a shame. read more

Used to be good, the new owners changed everything and not for better. Tavern pizza burnt, super light on toppings.

This was my 3rd time giving this place a try but I'm sorry it is officially my last attempt. If I could give it 0 stars I would happily. First of all I ordered a 14" cheese and sausage pizza with maybe 1 piece of sausage per slice! The pizza also wet and soggy and barely able to stand on its own, either the crust was just too thin or there was way too much sauce because the inside pieces were, wet(?) is really the best word to describe them. After I paid and got into my car I was asked to come back because apparently they haven't seen some of the newer $20 bills that look like the ones from the '90s. They then accosted me for 10 minutes trying to figure out if it was real and where it came from. Ignoring my attempts to try and show them how to test it. I'm a server in a restaurant that had 3 people including myself, check all 6 of the bills that came in. They're real! In the end, I should have just given them the pizza back and taken my $20 and my money elsewhere because this place is absolutely NOT worth it! Save your money and just get dominos next door... read more

It's been years since I've had pizza from Pisa Pizza but it was delicious just like I remembered. The crust was crispy, the cheese was melted perfectly and they did not skimp on the toppings. What more can you ask for from a pizza. Delicious thin crust pizza and very affordable compared to other places in the area. Will certainly be back! read more

Great place, fantastic pizza! I love thin crust pizza, and if you do too, then you gotta try this place out! Well worth it. Easy to order and then take out to eat at home! Clean place, open, easy access. The ingredients are quality and you can taste it. Overall as a true and authentic Italian, I can say that this pizza is delicious! Can't wait to go back to read more

Used to be so good, with the best speciality pizzas. Not sure if ownership changed but they remodeled and changed/reduced the menu in 2024. Has gone way downhill, will no longer order from here. read more

Our family first ordered Pisa when we moved to the area 4 years ago. It was amazing and quickly became a monthly staple for our pizza and movie night. We just received our most recent order and I am extremely disappointed. I was concerned that the menu was much smaller when I placed our order and when I opened the boxes it looked VERY different. The pizza was nowhere close to being as good as it used to be. Very greasy. New sauce? New toppings? I guess there is new ownership (from reading the other recent reviews) that has decided to change almost everything about the pizza. They have absolutely lost a customer in our family moving forward. read more

Picked up 3 pizzas on Halloween to feed the extended family and everyone loved the pizza! Great sauce and high quality toppings. The sausage will more than satisfy any Chicagoan since we all know what good versions taste like. Pepperoni with just the slightest crisp = Yum! And you can tell they don't skimp on the quality of the cheese throughout. Ready on time with friendly service at the counter. Breadsticks were good too. Highly recommend! read more

I had Pisa Pizza for the first time yesterday and it was amazing! The pizza was cooked perfectly, toppings and sauce were tasty and the crust had a great crunch to it. This will definitely become a staple for me and my family, as the kids loved it! In addition the staff was friendly and good prices, thank YOU Pisa Pizza, see you soon! read more

1st time here and was blown away with the quality and taste. Got a large pepperoni and sausage, the crust was super thin and crisp (just how I like it) , and the meat had a great flavor! Staff members were extremely nice and helpful. Will certainly be visiting again! read more

Huge shoutout to Pisa Pizza. I've had pizza in Rome, Amalfi Coast, NYC, New Haven, Detroit, and almost every big name pizzeria around town and I've never enjoyed pizza nearly as much as my experience with Pisa Pizza in Countryside, IL read more

So we ordered for the first time from Pisa Pizza. I thought it was excellent. The sausage was very flavorful the cheese abundant and the sauce was amazing very flavorful as well. My only complaint is that the pizza could have been hotter. It was warm but I like my food like right out of the oven hot. My delivery guy was more than grateful that I was wait g outside for him. So maybe as we move forward, let's save our delivery guys a few steps and wait outside for them. read more

Unsure tbh at this point. I am unsure what has happened recently as now the menu has been gutted, which was over extended but Pisa was always a good pie and at great price and now both are in question with recent changes. Even wings have only 2 options, perhaps they went too simple as they ditched good salads and tasty pizza options Seriously disappointing Just ordered, razor thin, different crust way overcooked, different sauce and frighteningly greasy reminding me of late night cheap college pizza places you ate while drinking Wow, did not see this coming. Please fix this read more

Used to be the best in town. What happened? Skinny, minimal topping and sauce. Just bad. And $30.00, you've got to be kidding.

TLDR: poor quality and a both times I've had them they forgot to add toppings I paid for. There's a reason this place has spent the last 40 years as a back alley take out joint. A thoroughly disappointing pizza. Let me count the ways. 1. Ordered the ricotta spinach which was supposed to come with tomatoes which they failed to add. I have a big problem with paying for something I didn't get no matter how small, but tomatoes being my fav part of any pizza just makes it worse. 2. The put an obnoxiously large size and amount of onion on to the point it doesn't get cooked through so they may as well advertise this as a raw onion and cheese pizza. Can barely taste anything else. 3. Poor quality undercooked crust which is hard to do when it's thin. 4. Spinach had an off, almost rancid taste. 5. They put the sausage underneath the cheese so it doesn't get cooked thoroughly, as the above mentioned onion surplus. We tried meatball on the other half which is even worse when undercooked. 6. Their location is tough to find, GPS will take you to a mini mall where their sign is but you actually have to drive through an alley and go through a whole expedition to find a small non descript door wedged between two other businesses. They don't bother telling you this on their website. Villa Nova in Stickney will always be best in the area, but this was closer so it was a 2nd chance shot as I had tried their personal sized pizzas in the past which were low quality and ALSO omitted ingredients . Thus I will definitely never be ordering from them again. read more

It's Great great pizza. A great little joint Best in the area without a doubt. Easily 5 stars. read more

This pizza does not even deserve a one star. New owners changed EVERYTHING!!! This pizza is disgusting, the most greasiest, really does not deserve the one star. The original owners of Pisa pizza made the best pizza. Their sauce was amazing, the cheese was amazing the pizza in itself was the best. I used to recommend it to everyone I came in contact with, I won't be doing that anymore. You people lost a customer who used to buy a pizza or two, once or twice a week. read more

I'm sick to my stomach that it took me so long to try out Pisa Pizza. Not only is it the best pizza value in the area, but it's also some of the the best tasting pizza in the area. Their takeout special for a 1-topping 14-inch pie at less than $10 is a wonder of the pizza world. They also have sauerkraut as a topping, don't knock it until you try it. read more

I work in the area and read some reviews before deciding on going, I was pleasantly impressed. It's a small spot behind some other businesses along busy Lagrange road and 55th. They have a unique crust that's got a sourdough taste and was cooked to a crisp that I really enjoy. I got a large supreme and the toppings were plentiful with good flavors as well. The owner was nice and had said her father started the original location. The service was quick and they didn't seem busy the day I went. I went a few months ago and haven't been back but I'll definitely be getting more pizza from them in the future. Check the joint out. read more

Cannot say enough about this shop. We have ordered from Pisa for over a year and every order is perfect. A neighbor suggested this place. Edit: The owners took my review into consideration and edited the menu to make sure patrons are aware of the no pizza sauce situation with their margherita option. This is much appreciated! I still wish I had not wasted the money on my purchase as this is definitely not the type of pizza we enjoy, but I can tell that their ingredients are fresh and their normal pizza is likely top notch. Will be giving them another try and encourage others to do so as well. Let me start by saying that my wife and I are EXTREMELY disappointed with our pizza. We ordered a large margherita. When it arrived, the first thing we noticed is that it had zero sauce. I have literally never been more confused in my life. We have ordered margherita pizzas from a plethora of pizza establishments and it has always come with the standard marinara sauce. It would be one thing if the menu spelled this out and we just missed it, but no. It literally says nothing about the type of sauce or lack therof for ANY of there pizzas. What makes it worse is that when we called and plead our case, the person on the phone (co-owner?), said that it is "common knowledge" that this type of pizza does not come with pizza sauce... So apparently you have to be some sort of pizza aficionado to properly order pizza from this place because the menu does not state the ingredients correctly. As I stated to this person on the phone, I really do not care about the money, but it's the principal. Just give us a credit for next time so that we can order a normal pizza now that we know the rules. But no, we were only offered a $5 credit... The ingredients that we tasted were awesome - fresh, and delicious. That is the only reason I am not giving this place a horrible rating. I just want everyone to know that if you order a margherita pizza from Pisa's and foolishly think you are going to receive a pizza, you are wrong. You are going to receive a dry circle of cheese bread with chunks tomato and basil. I really wish their menu was clear because I can tell from what I tasted that their normal pizza is likely delicious. To be clear, I think the food here is of great quality, but the menu and customer service need an extreme overhaul. read more

Pisa Pizza - Umm... where is the sauce? - Pizza Near Me - Countryside, Illinois

Been going to Pisa Pizza since they opened in the mid 90s and always enjoyed their pizza. I hear the original owners have left, and I'm a little disappointed on the prices that I got recently. From their website- XL sausage pizza 18.35, green pepper 1.55 Total 19.90 plus tax. My order receipt-XL sausage pizza 18.35, sausage(again)2.80, green pepper 2.80. Service fee .97 2.00 coupon used. Time to update the prices on the web-site, maybe mention the service fee also. And not double charge on ingredients. Feeling like I got nickel and dimed.........Pizza was good on a positive note. read more

Pisa Pizza provides great pizza for a very cheap price. By no means is this the best Pizza in Chicago. But it's very good thin crust at a price that you simply cannot pass up. The value combo, personal pizza, breadstick, side salad. And soda for $7 is unreal. With inflation going through the roof, Pisa Pizza will deliver quality Pizza at non inflation prices. Recommend the meatball pizza, Very Good! read more

The sauce on the pizza is really tasty. The salad was really good. Reason for the 4 stars is the food was delivered after the expected delivery time. I did receive an update which extended the delivery time another 15 minutes. But still didn't get the food until another 15 minutes after that. I did expect the delivery to take a little long since it was lunch time on a Friday. But almost an hour and a half? That's a little excessive and my kids ended up going back to class without being able to have their pizza and had to wait until their next break to eat. read more

Ordered delivery from here twice now. It arrives fast and piping hot. Thin crust with pepperoni is great. The sauce is rich and fresh, the crust has excellent crispy crunch. Order the pizza, it's in the name of the place after all. I did not care for our small order of hot wings. The texture of the wings was gelatinous. The buffalo sauce was good, but flavor of the ranch dressing was bad. Order pizza from this fine local pizza place, I will again soon. read more

The garlic pepperoni bread sticks were very good. Looked like a small pizza. But for the main dish, Chicago pizza with sausage, not happy at all. The pizza sauce was very sour, acidic. Only way to eat a slice was to wipe all the toppings off. What's the point of having pizza then??? Very disappointed, since I waited over an hour for it. Just to be clear... this review has nothing to do with the wait, only the main dish. Side note... not a fan of chucky tomatoes as a pizza sauce. Sorry guys. ‍ read more

I am highly disappointed today. Pisa is truly a favorite of mine but after today's experience, I may have to check the staff before ordering. My son has severe allergies so I always request no cut not only did they cut the pizza, my fries were terrible and looked like they came from someone else's order.
