The hostesses wear shirts that say "It's the Sauce" on the back. Yup, it is the sauce that make the pizza pretty nasty. Sorry, but we aren't fans of Aurelio's. We were in Geneva during the Festival of the Wine event. Not wanting to spend an arm and a leg on food at the fest, we decided to get a pizza. It was around dinner time on a Saturday and the wait was around 20 minutes. Once we were seated it was pretty evident that our server was frazzled and appeared to be taking care of half the dining room. When he finally took our drink order, we had already decided on what we wanted so we ordered everything at once. We got 2 drinks, salad to split and a pizza. Salad/drinks came out as expected as well as the pizza. When the pizza came I asked for additional ranch sauce which I didn't get for a while. At one point he stopped, looked at our table and exclaimed "Ranch" and went to go get it. The pizza though...ick. Sorry but the sauce is rank. The first slice you eat is fine but after a while it just gets to ya. It has a vinegeary taste. At some points we were just picking the toppings off and eating that, or as my bf did, he scrapped the sauce completely off. Maybe people like that? It was just weird. Outdoor patio is nice, service was decent, however, an hour to get a thin crust pizza is unacceptable. You can get a pizza delivered in that amount of time. The worst part of it was the manager really didn't care. Nothing was offered like a free drink, etc and people that were seated after us were getting their food before us. I told him about and he just kinda blew it off and said they were busy, oh well. The pizza is not even that great that it's worth the wait. Sauce was extremely sweet and crust was thick. Very disappointed. We recently moved to Geneva and we are trying out restaurants in the area. This was our first and last visit to Aurelio's. While our appetizer almost went to a different table, the main problem..."we never received our pizza." I understand the busy dinnertime and we were repeatedly told that our pizza would be out shortly. Our kids were troopers and the appetizer appeared to be holding. After approximately 30-45 minutes, we were told that the state of our pizza was unknown and that the manager would talk to us shortly. The manager apologized and informed us that our pizza would be out in 5 minutes, after 15 minutes, we left. Like most, once you find a consistently good pizza place, you are usually a loyal customer. Unfortunately, this experience was inexcusable and we won't be going back. Even if your busy or misplace the order, it should be possible to solve the problem in an hour. read more

This may be some of my favorite thin crust pizza of all time. their crust, cheese blend, and sauce are all unique and can't be found anywhere else. Now that they've finally opened up a sit-down restaurant (right across the street from their old location, at a great spot on State St.), there's even more reason to check them out. The dining room is really nice and is a good place for a sunday night family dinner. The pizza is even better hot and fresh straight from the oven! Having moved to the area recently - my girlfriend and i were jonesing for some pizza so we gave Aurelio's a whirl. I thought it was really good - she thought it was simply ok. They had a great blend of cheese and toppings and the sauce was good and not laid on too thick. I live close by so I know I will return to try different pizzas and some of the sandiwches on the menu. There are other locations we like but this location for Aurielo's just can't seem to get it right. And it's all about the service, or rather lack of it. After 1 great and 2 so/so visits we gave it a break. We went back a year ago, sat in the bar area, waited almost a half hour for service and finally walked out (yes we requested service 3x with no response before we left). Wanting to try it again, we got prompt table service for our food and drink order tonight, but it ended there. When our pizza arrived it was lukewarm at best. Then we had to wait for plates, napkins and silverware so lukewarm became cold. We made our server aware and he had the pizza reheated but then we ended up with an extra crispy well done pizza. Long wait before anyone came by. Salad came with no dressing and certainly not enough for a large salad. Server seems irritated and we felt rushed to be out of there as they were closing with 1.5 hours. Having been to the Addison location, I would say that location's food quality is way better. And the dining room----so crowded. The people behind me kept shoving into my back while waiters kept shoving me into the table to get behind me. There's literally no room for anyone to go anywhere-needs a complete restructuring in terms of space. Utterly annoying. Loud, crazy experience that I do not think I would return to. First, the pizza is good. No complaints other than it is sometimes a bit greasy. Service is AWFUL! The staff acts like they are inconvenienced by patrons. I came to pick up my carryout...and people were walking by, looking at me, ignoring me for 4 minutes! Finally, a guy came out of the back office and asked if we'd been helped. My second time picking up carryout, the girl at the window was working on a soduko puzzle at the window, didn't even look up at me for over a minute! Finally she looks up and asks (annoyed) if she could help me. I asked her if she was done yet....didn't want to interrupt her. Give me a break Aurelio's. If you are charging $50 for two pizzas, at least hire a staff member that wants to help your customers! read more

The info part of this restaurant needs to be updated now that they have moved to a large State St sit down space with outside seating for nice weather. It is a great place for kids and also has a separate bar with alcohol table service too. Great food, friendly wait staff and lots local support. Give them a try! read more

Went on a Sunday night for dinner with the family. We got some fried ravioli, a thin and thick crust pizza. Both were very good. The crust is crisp and buttery with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Good experience! read more

My husband and I have gone there a couple of times on weekend afternoons to have drinks and pizza in the outdoor patio and enjoy the weather. Both times the pizza has been good but the service has been sub-par. We waited an unacceptably long time to get our pizza and beer/wine. On our last visit the waitress seemed so disinterested in her customers it was almost laughable. The other waitresses around her seemed much better. We'll be back but hope the service is better the next time. read more

Pizza preferences can be personal. But Aurelio's has my vote. Not only is the in-dining service good, their outdoor patio is clean and conducive to dining. One of my wife and i's favorite pizza places. We can't get over their buttery, flaky crust. I am not a crust person, but that changes when we go there. Service was very good. Lighting and cleanliness was good too. Overall a nice welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend trying! read more

Please note that though this is a pizza place, the party of 5 I was with did not order pizza!!! We had come to Geneva to eat, but found on account of homecoming or something, that all of the restaurants we wanted to eat at were over an hour wait. This place was at best half full...maybe that was a sign? Anyway, like I mentioned, we weren't in the mood for pizza, so we decided to order off the non-pizza menu. Maybe their pizza is good. So if you are going there for pizza, this review is not for you!!! That said, I can tell you what is not good - the rest of their menu. When you make pasta, you should mix the sauce and pasta together the moment the pasta is drained, or yum - cook the pasta in the sauce.... Even a home cook knows this. I received what was a decently flavored sauce piled onto plain overcooked sticky penne noodles. It was terrible. the pasta had definitely dried before so the sauce never really set in. I feel like this shouldn't happen. It just shouldn't be served naked at all. The bread sticks stuffed with cheese sound good. They have zero flavoring and are unfortunately dense and chewy and tasteless. The Italian sandwich was bland and greasy. The person in our party who ordered it, barely ate half. The fries were OK. The chicken fingers my daughter had were out of a box, the same box that all pubs use so they were crunchy and edible - just not, ya know...great. Overall, I can't see a situation in which we return. Like I said, maybe thier pizza is great. So maybe if you go, stick to it. read more

I had my rehearsal dinner here in March 2013. I got married in Geneva, IL and I wanted some place close that had a relaxed atmosphere, but appropriate for a rehearsal dinner. This place was perfect! I met with Tyler (manager) a couple of months prior and he came up with a great menu for the evening. He was creative and great to work with. We hadn't ever tasted their pizza (known for their sweet tomato sauce) and he brought out a sample pizza for us to taste. They have a back room that fits about 60 people (which is how many we had) and the night was AMAZING! The staff was great, the service was AWESOME, and the food was so tasty! Tyler had recommended a certain amount of food for each table and it was the perfect amount of food. The pricing was extremely reasonable. The timing of everything was awesome as well. Tyler and another manager kept checking on us throughout the night - which made me feel great. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place to anyone getting married in the Geneva/St. Charles area. Tried Aurelio's for lunch on Friday, I had never had their pizza before. We each got a 6" pizza that cuts into 4 decent sized pieces. We also got a dinner salad which comes in a big bowl and had more than two generous servings. For the most part I liked the pizza, good sauce, good toppings but the thin crust was just a little too thick for my liking. We had been in this space when it was Isabella's and again when it was Citizen Kane. In contrast the new decor is a stark pizza place, wooden booths, dark wood tables and red checkered tablecloths. Service was good but we were the only diners at 11:30. The patio is open now and is a lovely green setting. Every now and then I get a taste for a few slices of pizza and a salad and Aurelio's fills that need, we will be back. read more

We love the food and have been loyal customers since this location opened, but after a visit this summer (June 27) we had an exceptionally long wait for seating and food on the patio. The waitress was overwhelmed and the bill was incorrect. The waitstaff training model needs a complete overhaul. The kitchen typically gets things right and the pizza taste (sauce) is uniquely great. Aurelios is a perfect example of Chicago thin crust pizza. I was happy to see they moved into a restaurant that has seating in Geneva. The fact that it had 50+ people waiting to be seated when we were there is a testament to that. I've have Aurelios in at least 4 different of their stores including way out in Macomb, IL which is where I first found out about them. The only negative about the Geneva location was seating availability. We were there on a Friday at 5 and it was already packed. We grabbed a seat at one of the tables in the bar and had people's butts in our face for the next hour. It also made it very hard to get served. Aurelio's is worth waiting for though... read more

Its ok, the pizza quality is inconsistant, the last time it was quite good, last time server was quite nice also. Also stick with the pizzas, the salads and appitizers generally are dissapointing. Usually a pizza place is dark and a little greasy. Aurelio's is bright, clean and a great adult restaurant. The thin crust pizza is awesome. I am so glad they finally put a sit down restaurant in near me..I went their on valentines day with my sweetie and it was great..i wanted to try something different so i ordered the chicken alfredo and it was so delicious..my sweetie ordered the chicken pizza..She said it was so good and the pizza tastes the same as she has always had....OH and the bosco sticks are good too.....We are going back for sure..i was shocked that it was not busier then it was because the food is amazing read more

Excellent service, hot pizza. It's a great environment to stop in for lunch and a fun date for dinner. Wine selection with surprising variety caught my eye. Unfortunately this was our last visit to Aurelio's. We used to love going there but the service has not been good. At the restaurant it is average but it is even worse for carry out. We have had issues with our pick up orders. Today as an example they completely forgot one of the meals and got one of them wrong. When I called they were not accommodating at all. They asked if we were willing to come back to pick up the missing order. We had someone without their food so we didn't have a choice. They looked for the missing order and implied it was the one they found under the heater that they forgot to pack. I asked for a new sandwich since that one would have been sitting there an additional 15 minutes. The person answering the phones acted like that was an inconvenience and told me the manager would make that call if it was cold. They were also not overly apologetic and when I asked if they would be doing anything for our inconvenience since we had to drive back there she offered a $10 off our next visit which they didn't give us anyway. The food is average and the customer service is horrible. There are other restaurants in Geneva with great service so I would save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere. They need better managers who can manage the young kids they have working there who don't want to be there. read more

Great service! Fast! GF pizza is rather small, but tastes great. The crust is not super thin and doesn't crumble all over the place. Full of flavor too. Service was good so I'll give this place two stars instead of just one. Had raviolis and a stuffed pizza. The raviolis were fine, but extremely small for the price. The stuffed pizza is where my serious gripe fest begins. I had heard nothing but good things about this place and WOW... I could not have been more disappointed. Pricing of their stuffed pizza is on par with some great stuffed pizza places like Nancy's and Giordano's, but falls extremely short when you compare quality. I mean this stuff is bad... really bad. It reminds me of the days when I'd scrounge around in the fringe desperately trying to make something and I end up pouring some high-salt-content, store-bought, pizza sauce over some tortillas and throw some mozzarella on top. If this sounds like something you'd like to pay $40 for, then this is the place for you. I love pizza and this place gives pizza a bad name. Shut it down please. read more

Went for the first time last night and we all loved the pizza. Great crust and a slightly sweet sauce. Service was very friendly and quick, however we did have a mixup. Our pizza came out with tomatoes when we had ordered spinach. Everyone else in the party had their food so we really didn't want to wait for another pizza so we just ate it (which was great, just not what we had ordered) and or server put in an order for the correct pizza for us to take home.
