I love Aurelio's thin crust pizza. The thin crust pizza at this location is excellent and it's the sauce, sausage and extra cheese that makes the pizza special . (As a rule I do not order Aurelio's stuffed pizza because it's not anything on par with Giordano's, but I digress) I always order carryout from the Geneva Aurelio's. I have some coupons that I saved from the days when they were just a carryout place across the street, so I still get deals even though their prices have gone up. I have no complaints with the pizza there. I think if more people ordered carryout they would have less complaints in these reviews. Geneva is a busy town, there is limited parking and it's loud and busy in the restaurant on the weekends. It's not the original Homewood location, but I would say it's close. The pizza, as always, is delicious; my favorite bar none. I love the sauce and the cheese blend. I am bummed. I read the reviews and was told by many that this place is good. Not for us. My review is based on delivery, not dine in. We ordered a small thin crust, sausage/mushroom pizza and an italian beef with fries. The total cost with tip was $31.00. I am guessing by the prices on line that delivery charge is $5.00. We never got the receipt with the dollar amounts. So the pizza, it was cold. So cold we could peel the cheese layer off the crust. The italian beef was cold and the fries were soggy. I was so disappointed. We live less than 2 miles from the Geneva location. Also, like i mentioned we ordered sausage/mushroom pizza and there were only 6 slices of mushrooms on the pizza. There was plenty of sausage but we did pay for mushrooms and that is not right. The sauce is sweet but salty. If you like sweet and salty sauce then you'll like the sauce. There were 9 in our party. It was about 1230 on Friday afternoon and the place had about 6 other people there. That should have been our first sign that we picked the wrong place. After we ordered our drinks the waiter dropped off the nonalcoholic drinks and the disappeared for 15 minutes. When he came back and we asked about them he said the bartender was working on them and they should be right up (we ordered draft beer). After the server was done hiding from us he took our pizza order. He disappeared again and we continued to see people get their food. When he would come by he would lie about it being almost up. 3 of our guests had to leave and so now we did not have enough people to eat the food we ordered. When the pizza finally came out they must have cut it too early because the cheese was all over the place and the crust was terrible. No one really cared about the service that was given. We had the best family Christmas party ever at Aurelios in Geneva Il. There were 6 kids and 8 adults.The back room is perfect for a party with kids because they can run around and not bother other diners. Our server was Patrick and he had the patience of a saint. OMG!!! I grew up eating Aurelio's in Homewood. We usually go to the Aurelio's in Addison. Last night, however, we were in Geneva with family---10 total. Decided to check out the new "sit down" Aurelio's. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait. Decided to stay. Father in law not too happy about waiting. 5 kids were very hungry! Waited an hour! They seated a party of 8 that came in after us BEFORE us! Already invested an hour and 10 minutes at this time. Tempers were flaring in our party! Begged hostess and host kids to do something! Decided to look in back area to see if there were 2 tables instead opened. Saw a table for 10 opened and ready. Meanwhile, table we were told that was for us had people who were lingering talking and visiting! Asked (actually pleaded) with manager to give us the table in the back. He got a funny look on his face and told me that it was reserved FOR HIS FAMILY!!!! I could not believe it!!!!!!!!!! Never ever have I encountered such a thing!!!!!!!! Aurelio's corporate should pull this guy's franchise!!!! We finally sat down. Should have left, but I did not tell my family what really happened. They would have gone ballistic!!!! If I could rate this disgusting place a ZERO I would!!! First of all I am happy some people put honest reviews aNd I wish I did NOT give this place a try. When I called to order I was put on hold for 5-6 min before I could place my order and then when I finally was able to order..some guy(sounded Spanish like)was very very rude to me & degrading when I asked a question regarding a topping. I should have taken this as a sign that they don't care about their customers! So when I get there to pick up my pizza, I see workers slicing toppings on what looked like upside down garbage cans(gross) but, I tried to look past that. I believe the rude person on the phone, who took my order, was now getting my pizzas for me because he was so rude & snapped at me when I asked for some plates & forks so we could eat our 4 pizzas that we ordered. He refused to give me any plates not even 1. I was Shocked! What pizza place doesn't offer that for pick-up, cheap or struggling ones I guess. This was my first time trying this place out & so far my treatment has not been good. Now to the pizza, OMG I wish I stopped at "hello" when I called to order. Horrendous Service! Horrendous Pizza! Biggest disappointment! Definitely stick with Lou Malnatis or Ginos, or any other place that cares about their customers!! -0 for this place! I was very pleased with the pizza during my first visit, but was really disappointed the second time when the center dough of my pizza was raw. My first visit was so enjoyable, though, so I decided to give Aurelio's another shot about a month later. This time, I called to have 2 small pizzas delivered to my home, but was shocked to hear that the total bill was a whopping $38. I told the woman on the phone to cancel my order, but she offered to give me a coupon, so I went ahead and placed the order. When the delivery man came to my house he told me he could not give me the pizza at the discounted price unless I had the coupon in-hand. I explained that I was told the restaurant would provide me with the coupon, but the delivery man knew nothing about this arrangement. He called the manager, who insisted that I pay the $38. I told them they could take their pizza back. After further discussion with the manager, the delivery man told me that the manager would allow us to have the pizza with the discount, but only this time, and that they would not allow this to happen again. I felt like they were accusing me of trying to pull a fast one with the coupon story, and was appalled by the horrible customer service. I will never order from them again. To top it all off, the pizza was cold by time the issue was resolved. I will never order from Aurelio's again. There's way better, cheaper pizza in the area, with better customer service. Just thinking of the pizza we had makes me sick. Still cant get the smell of the crust off my hands. The waiter oversold us on a extra large thin crust pizza. Even if we liked it, it was too much for 4 people. The sauce was worse than Chuckie Cheese. Bland and watery. The cheese was a mystery mix with every slice tasting different, but not in a good way. Both my daughters went to the rest room because they were sick. According to the manager, no one has ever complained, but yet I seen tons of complaints on line. Ordered this for the first time last night, and both my boyfriend and I were so disappointed. The food was not good. We had a peperoni pizza, fries, and mozzarella sticks. The pizza was edible, but nothing special. I didn't like that they used a mixture of cheddar cheese, cheddar just tasted weird on a peperoni pizza. The sauce kind of tasted like ketchup. Kevin and Freddie really have it together! I can't get enough. There is something special about the flavor of the sauce. The mix of cheese that is used is unlike any you will find in the greater Chicago area. The atmosphere is that of a family that moves into the night life as the warm spring and summer nights allow the back bar and patio to be used for music and entertainment. The fact is they are busy and there is a following but people come to share a great time and they do great times and great food. I am not a big fan of this pizza. Partly because I don't care for the sweetness of their sauce, or their unique crust. I prefer a Rosati's or Papa Savario's type pizza. Besides the fact this isn't my type of thin crust what really annoyed be is I don't think they use the best ingredients. When we ordered mushrooms on our pizza they were obviously canned mushrooms, and the cheese is pretty meh as well. The restaurant itself I think is pretty cute for a pizza place. I might come here if I was looking for an eat in pizza place or have a party except I also thought the pizzas were priced on the high side. First time here and we ordered an appetizer of calamari and a large sausage and mushroom pizza. Our server Andrew was both prompt and friendly and we got our drinks and appetizer rather quickly. The calamari was obviously from a frozen bag and looked more like onion rings but was still pretty tasty and not at all greasy like a lot of places tend to be. The marinara sauce was sweet and tangy but not overly acidic. The pizza arrived sooner then I thought and both the tomato sauce and the sausage had a sweet taste to it which is mentioned in several of the reviews here. Not overly sweet and not overly greasy. Big pluses! The cheese was tasty and the pizza had good flavor and seasoning and had a nice baked taste and appearance to it. It was a perfect relaxed weeknight on the back patio which is a little dark and could use some accent lightning by way of tea candles or something of the sort. We will defiantly be back again and hope to be waited on by Andrew again. read more

We were first introduced to Aurelio's in Oak Brook Terrace. When that location closed we were very disappointed - however, we have been to the new location in Geneva and loved the place. The Super Six is our all time favorite - plus their salads are always very fresh. Since it is always crowded and sometimes a wait to get in, that is all a good indication that their pizza is delicious. Hopefully, some of the kinks will be worked out and they will remain a longtime Geneva establishment. read more

This is a first time for us at this location. We were pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere created. They have a wonderful outdoor seating area. We sat inside this time but next time we will definitely sit outside and enjoy the weather. We were seating quickly in a booth which we found go be very comfortable. What we found to be very unusual was the service. It was not up to the standard which the Addison Aurelios has set. The waitress was definitely off of her game. At one point when my PIC asked for a refill on her water the waitress rolled her eyes. That will not happen at the Addison Aurelios. Onto the food. We originally ordered Cream of Chicken Rice and after about five minutes were told they were out of it. We agreed to the minestrone which was good but not great. We also had the antipasto salad which was very good. The vegetables were crisp and cold. The dressing was missing something just didn't have the bite were use too I guess. The pizza showed up and was hot and baked as ordered. The pizza was very good but again not up to the Addison standard. I believe our overall experience was good. This was not only the worst experience I have had with pizza in the greater Chicago area, but the worst experience in any part of the country. First, the dinner was horribly overpriced: 2 15" thin crust pizzas + 2 salads = $71 ?!?!? Second, the service was ridiculously slow. We ordered the pizza at 6:09pm from the Geneva location asking for delivery in St. Charles. The time initially given was an hour. Alright, it's a Friday night, they're probably busy. At 7:30pm we still had not seen the delivery man and called. They had absolutely no clue about my order and claimed it was taking a long time because we changed the order...not the case. They obviously forgot our order then proceeded to blame it on the delivery driver. Over two hours after our initial call our pizzas and salads finally arrived. Aurelio's did not even suggest a discount let alone admitting their mistake. This is something I feel strong about: if you mess something up own up to it and maybe hook me up. Even if you don't hook me up, admit your mistake. Third, when we finally got the order the food was nothing better than average. Don't waste your time here. Go somewhere else. read more

My husband took my son and daughter out for pizza last night. The service was horrible. They brought my kids spoiled milk and the waiter actually argued with my husband that it was fine. It wasn't. The waiter finally exchanged it in the end, but still charged my husband for the spoiled milk. He ordered 2 pizzas, one gluten free and one regular. The regular pizza came and no gluten free one. When my husband inquired about it, the waiter went back and checked. A few minutes later he came back and said that the gluten free one had burnt and they were remaking it. So, my 6 year old, with a wheat allergy, got to watch my husband and daughter eat dinner while he tried to patiently wait for his food. About the time my husband and daughter finished, they brought my son's pizza. The pizza tasted good, but the service was awful, and the fact that they charged for spoiled milk and that the pizzas were not ready at the same time caused the 1 star rating. read more

Aurelio's pizza is one of the last dying breeds of great Chicago style pizza in the suburbs. I'll start with the location; absolutely fantastic location. Right smack dab in the center of beautiful downtown Geneva on the corner of the block. It has it's own parking lot do the customers and a gorgeous outside seating area. The back patio stays majestically lit at night with lights strung across. Bar and television on the back as well. Some nights there is live music. The service is phenomenal. The waiters are polite, witty, and pleasant. The bus boys attend to your every need. I think the bus boys are the core of Aurelio's and don't get enough recognition. The managers are always out and involved which is comforting to know how they care about the customers and how the place is running. I've been here plenty of times so I've had almost everything on the menu. The thin crust pizza is delicious. The whole idea of Aurelio's is that their sauce is the best (servers and some busboys have the slogan "It's the sauce!" On the backs of the uniforms). The sauce is delicious however I think the crust is the best part. Baked to perfection, the crust adds the crispness you desire at the end of a saucey slice. Place is very clean and tidy, great atmosphere. If you are in the area you must stop by Aurelio's! read more
