Saturday night April 26, 2014 we stopped in for dinner. We had the pizza at least 5 times and was very pleased. For starters we had the stuffed mushrooms my husband thought they tasted like the smell of dirt. I ordered the chicken Milanese which came breaded in a brown sauce with mushrooms. The mushrooms were good the chicken tasted as though it was frozen and them microwaved. Not good at all. My husband ordered the beef bracciole not sure what the stuffing was, he thought it was awful. I like the lunch buffet, we have the pizza at work a lot. The chopped salad gets rave reviews from people. We've used them for catering as well, and are always happy with them. read more

We have dined in a few times; mostly we carry- out our pizza from here. With having family members with Celiac, we love being able to enjoy a great tasting (gluten free) pizza. We have always been greeted, served, and helped by very friendly staff members. read more

Well I will not be coming back here...Went to dinner on Sunday night ...Service was horrible, she was on her cell phone most of the time. My 2 star review is not because of the food but because or the confusion if they delivered or not. My family and I dined in the restaurant last week and really enjoyed the pizza. Our server was very nice and gave us a menu and told us they would deliver tand that her Mother lived in our neighborhood. The pizza was so good that I've been thinking about it for 5 days. I decided to order pizza for dinner today. When we called to place our order and we told them which town we were in they asked if we were before or after Gary Ave. We told them we were before Gary off of Schmale. Then they told us that they don't go as far as Schmale. Coming from the restaurant, you would pass Schmale on your way to Gary. I think they should be asking if we lived before or after Schmale or even Bloomingdale Road if they don't go pass Schmale. Now I'm just really disappointed and have nothing planned for dinner. read more

I've been to Aurelio's a few times and I can say that the food is incredible. I've tired a combination of their pizzas and appetizers and they all taste great. The biggest flaw of this restaurant is the customer service. The wait staff is great but they try every way possible to kick you out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. This last visit to the restaurant was the worst. We were in the middle of eating still when a staff member came and took the basket of fries I was still working on eating. Then another staff member came and gave us a box for our pizza even though we were still working on it. I was never asked for a refill of drinks and actually had to track the waitress down for another drink. I would've loved to come here often but not feeling welcomed really hurts the business. Please stop coming to tables and taking plates and luring around corners waiting for people to finish eating, it's weird. read more

We went here Saturday evening. The hostess was somewhat rude. Not at us but about the restaurant. You don't bash the restaurant in front of guests. The server started out good, but after we were done eating she disappeared. We had to have someone get her. The breadsticks were good. Salad was OK. The pizza was interesting, the cheese had an off taste. I usually like all pizza but not this one. Also, on our way out there was our server just sitting in a chair relaxing. By far the best pizza in the area. I live in Elmwood Park and am surrounded by some of the best pizza places so that's why I say that. I love their stuffed pizza and their thin crust is good, too. A friend of ours kept raving about the Aurelio's in Homewood. We finally got down there just before Christmas and it was absolutely FANTASTIC! They warned us that all the other Aurelio's were not the same. We had to find out about it ourselves. Unfortunately for us they were right. The pizza at the Addison location was not as good. Perhaps it's because they don't use the grid rack that Homewood does. The center pieces got a little soggy. Six other family members came with us to try it in Addison (they had never experienced Aurelio's) and they all said it was very very good. The service was good and Homewood is a pretty far drive so we'll more than likely be back! Addison, please try using the grid racks instead of the waffle trays!!! read more

I have been going here for years and their homemade gluten free pizza is the best in the area. The GF crust has more flavor than the regular pizza crust, to the point where my family (non-celiac) will order the gluten free crust instead of the regular crust. My favorite pizza is the giardinera and ricotta (but get ready for some pain). They offer a gluten free menu which includes bread, gnocchi, appetizers, desserts and beer. Staff is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Pizza is your best bet here! read more

The service is terrible. The gentleman who serves during lunch is rude. He is very opinionated, he listens to your conversations and butts in, he never refills your drinks, he never asks how the food is. The food is terrible. Mush. Some stuff looks old, greasy, fatty. Stay away. read more

Great Aurelio's pizza with a bit of ambiance! The pizza never disappoints at this location - always too hot to eat when it arrives at the table but you can't help digging in because it is just so tasty! My family and I have never had the buffet at lunch time (wish they would offer on the weekend or dinner time during the week!). Most visits we have very good service. My only pet peeve, and this is with every Aurelio's location I have been, is that there are not unlimited refills on drinks. I think the company is stuck back in the 20th century before refills became standard. My last visit I did notice a few little things that worried me the owners are not keeping up on maintenance - like a cracked flat screen tv - time to replace that since it has been in that condition since the time before when I ate there! Overall though, I make a 40 minute drive out to Addison to have hot fresh sit-down Aurelio's pizza at this location. My mouth is watering already! Had a very bad experience at Aurelio's in Addison. Let me first start by explaining that I have been to Aurelio's in Geneva and it was amazing. And, I want it to be known that I have NEVER written a yelp review before...so do realize that this experience was so bad that I am taking time out of my day to explain. I am not on here to bash the entire franchise...I am here to explain that the "owner" or woman who claimed to be owner in Addison, Sharon, was awful. We came in with a large group of 21 without reservations. We were unsure if they could accommodate us. Fortunately, they said they could. But...before we even got seated...I had told my friends that I thought we should leave. Sharon, who stated she was the owner, was very snappy and rude with us. Her and her hostess had a mix up and believed that we were a group who did have reservations. After they fixed their mix up, Sharon started by asking us rudely if we wanted one check or multiples. We explained either would be fine. She said if we wanted multiples then just one person per family had to order for all in that family so her waitress didn't get confused....we said that was fine. Then, rudely said, "how many menus do you need?" I told her we had 21 people. Her response was "well, you don't need 21 menus do you?". I replied "ten menus would be fine, we could share." She went on to ask who was in charge of our group and then told us (the adults) that we needed to stay at our own table that our kids could not be wandering around because they had another party coming in. We said no problem. As she seated us, she, once again, rudely scolded one of the children because he walked by a different, empty table which wasn't ours. I decided enough was enough with this woman and told her that he was simply walking through there. I felt that it was time for her to realize that WE were the customers and the attitude we were receiving from her needed to stop. We sat down and looked at our shared menus. We had 16 children, 12 of which were under the age of 12 but never got any kids menus so we assumed they were on the regular menus. Our waitress came in with the same attitude as Sharon. She asked if we were ready and we said we needed time. She turned and walked away. I called to her and said "you can take our drink orders". She then came back to get those orders. Drinks came in large glasses....which was fine. There was a fiasco of wrong drinks coming out or missing drinks but 21 people is a large group and understandable....though...she did write them down with each adults name on different checks so I am not sure how and why she was confused. She said she didn't have enough room on the tray for the drinks...not sure why she didn't grab a bigger tray....but ok. We then walked up to the front to ask for a kids menu since we didn't see it on the adult menu or weren't given one. They gave us one. When we asked for more we were told they did not have enough. Really? They were a printed menu...GO PRINT MORE!!! On the kids menu, it was a meal with a drink. So, when we began to order, we asked about the drinks we were already given. Some of the children ordered off of the kids menu and they should be included. The waitress told us NO that we had adult drinks. We explained to her that she or Sharon never gave us kids menu and when ordering drinks, it is her job to ask if the kids wanted kids drinks or not. She had to speak to her manager. She came back and said that we could have our adult drinks count as a kids drink but that we couldn't get refills even though the kids drinks get free refills. We said we needed to speak to the manager. Sharon comes storming in with two cups in her hand, an adult and a kids cup. She starts explaining her rule. We explain that if a kid gets 3 refills on the small cup it is more than 1 adult cup and that it makes no sense. This escalated into a huge back and forth discussion. I told her since we walked in she had attitude with us and if she didn't want to serve us, she should have told us up front. Needless to say, we left. Our group of 21 sat there for an hour....got only drinks....never even got our order in...and we left. I was in the restaurant industry for many years. When a large group comes in without reservations, you kindly let them know that you weren't expecting them but that you will do your best to make it run smoothly. Instead, we were greeted with attitude and rude behavior. I would NEVER walk in there again, even though I enjoyed their food when I visited Geneva. It is sad that people are in an industry that they cannot handle and are not good at. My suggestion to Sharon is to leave the restaurant business or change your ways. People who walk into your establishment are your bread and butter. Without customers, you have nothing. I will be sure to get the word out that this is not the establishment to visit....at least not the Addison location. read more
