She also offered to make me a cupcake in their lemon berry cake (isn't offered as a cupcake daily). I visited and tasted the cupcake and made a few adjustments to the birthday cake. The cupcake was excellent, however, to accommodate the crowd, I adjusted the flavors just slightly. The finished product was beautiful and delicious. The whipped cream icing perfectly complimented the 4 tiers of lemon/berry combo. It was really delicious. The icing on the cake was Maggie and her staff and the amazing customer service they exhibited. Not to mention, they were all super friendly. Great experience all around!

Being set back allows them to have a quiet outdoor seating area with plenty of shade which you pass by on your way inside. Inside is very cute with much more seating, big bright windows that let in the afternoon sun and decor that blends the coffee shop seamlessly into the beautiful old house. I ordered an iced almond milk latte, my warm weather go to. The counter person asked if I wanted any flavor/syrup and, while I usually don't because I don't like sweet coffee, I acquiesced because she said she could make sure it wasn't super sweet but I still got the flavor. This was quite literally the BEST iced almond milk latte I have ever had the pleasure of drinking. The salted caramel syrup lent just a hint of sweetness but full flavor. The espresso was flawless. I sipped my latte while walking back down Main Street to my car in 80° weather with flowers blooming and birds chirping and it was the perfect lunch break treat. I will be back.

There's a reason that Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook specifically called out McMillan's donuts as some of the best in the country. While donuts are the cornerstone of this family-run bakery, McMillan's offers so much more than that. One of their lesser-known gems is the tea biscuit with raisins - just crumbly, buttery perfection. Their cakes are never disappointing, and they do an excellent job with decorating them (if that's something you want - if so, just call ahead). They make pretty good seasonal pies, as well. The fruit-filled danishes are great, and they do a nice job with their muffins and sticky buns. We've also gotten dinner rolls before, and they were solid (although with Del Buono's and Deluxe nearby, the roll competition is stiff!). I LOVE bakeries and I visit them wherever I travel.
