Upstairs we found cozier seating at a high top table with service. Downstairs I believe you have to walk up to the bar or just sit at the bar for service. I also don't believe the full beer menu is available downstairs. The menu is full of tempting toppings and styles with your choice of regular/footlong dogs, hot sausage or kielbasa. I had a hot sausage with pepper hash and coleslaw. It had a snappy skin, decent heat and was delicious when paired with the sweet coleslaw and pepper hash. My friend ordered frank and tots and reported it to be delicious and filling. My son had a regular dog and we all shared a big pretzel with beer cheese. I had an IPA named Thank Frank that was about average for a West Coast style IPA and my pal had a couple of their darker offerings that he wasn't impressed with. Our server was nice and gave a great recommendation to add the pepper hash. She wasn't the fastest at coming to check on our beers so we bailed. I had one and she never asked if I wanted another and never refilled our waters. Prices weren't too bad. All I could think about was a foot-long from the Dog House. After a great cruise and a stop at the museum at Dover Air force base I made it to New Castle. Making the merge onto RT13 I could the sign ahead of me. Parking can be tough but there was spot out front. I did notice the sign has changed, again. My father had been taking me here since 1969. It was our place to go on our Saturday trips from Jersey since it is a sales tax free state. After walking in I couldn't help notice how the inside had changed (last time here was 2021). If you think it has a nostalgic feel now, you have seen it in the '80s and '90s. They have taken down all the hand painted signage and replaced the menu board with a modern one, dang. I just hope they don't plan on franchising the place. I managed to grab a seat at the counter and in no time I was placing my order. All in all, the food is still done the same. Dogs split and grilled on the flat top and the fries are great with their own signature seasoning. We got our pups to go, tried the first bite as we stepped outside, and 3 dogs were gone before we made it back to the car. This place is SPECTACULAR, and I don't use that term lightly. We came minutes before closing and the workers greeted us like long lost family, asking about our day and where we were from. We shared some laughs telling the owner about our adventure day to a UFO house in Willingboro.
