A must stop when I visit the mall. I don't go to the mall often, but I habe to go every 6 mos to get my rings inspected. I stop here for pretzels and now have the family hooked. The jalapeno and almond are my favorites, but I saw this jalapeno pepperoni and had to have it. I like to get it with the cream cheese dip. Also love their mini hot dogs! The salsa cheese is great if you like a kick. I only gave them 4 stars because I tried to scan my app and she told me I had to do it after. I said ok, she rang me up and then didn't give me a receipt, so I couldn't get my points after the fact. Not sure why I had to scan after and then she didn't do it. I had to wait for 2 more pepperoni and I looked over and there was a pile of pepperoni sitting there in the case. Auntie Anne's has one pretzel stand in Modesto's Vintage Faire Mall. Compared to Wetzel's Pretzels (they have two locations in this mall also), Auntie Anne's has a more buttery flavor. There is less browned/maillard pretzel flavor. Sometimes when it's nice and brown it's better. The pale ones are just okay. I have the app because they give you a free pretzel for you birthday. On National Pretzel Day and on other special occasions they give out free pretzels too. read more

We usually go to Auntie Anne's over Wetzel's because the quality is much better. Usually a longer line but worth it. Today we had a coupon we wanted to use through the app ($1 lemonade with any classic pretzel purchase). I asked if it applied to pretzel bites because nothing on the menu was listed as "classic pretzel." Employees said they weren't sure and to try it. They scanned the coupon, didn't work. The cashier told me to exit out of the coupon and try it again, except once you exit the coupon it disappears. She asked another employee what the deal entailed which they determined was the "original pretzel" as listed on the menu. Once again she tried to ring me up for an original pretzel and lemonade, and scanned my barcode again (without the coupon, as it had disappeared). She had me scan it about 3 more times and still couldn't get the coupon to show up. She was frustrated and I was frustrated, plus there was a line building up behind me. Eventually I just said forget it and walked away. Auntie Anne's needs to make the wording of the coupons much more clear to both the customer and their own staff. If this location is going to continue to offer use of coupons through the app, they need to train their employees how to interpret them and apply them. Overall just a very disappointing trip, though not at all the employee's fault. read more

Manager is a joke and as is the case with most franchised locations calling corporate equates to no action. The manager at this location, Erika, was rude and demeaning then proceeded to talk rudely about customers in earshot of other customers this is considered unprofessional in any field even hawking pretzels. There was discrimination on top of all this. I felt profiled let's leave it at that. Myself and my sister usually buy our children pretzels here weekly at least. Yesterday my daughter and I stopped and got a pretzel before heading home. My daughter got an original with salt and I tried the sweet almond. OMG! It was heavenly. It was so yummy. I was shocked. I prefer this place than the other 2 Wetzel Pretzels that they have in the mall. There's always a long line here but so worth it. I usually get the cinnamon stix cause that's my favorite. I was quite disappointed when i asked for a water cup and they said they had to charge me for it. It's not the cost that was the issue it was the principal. If i'm buying food from the restaurant and choose a beverage that is not laden with sugar I shouldn't be charged for tap water. The food was good, however I have and will never allow a restaurant charge me for tap water. Its sad to think a gas station gives free tap water yet this restaurant refuses dispite my patronage. read more
