Honestly, this place talks a big game and doesn't back it up…read more I called ahead about happy hour and a specific cupcake for someone special. Showed up--neither existed. Fine. What really stood out was everything after that. I stood at the counter waiting to be acknowledged... nothing. No "hey," no "we'll be right with you," just straight-up ignored while conversations behind the counter clearly took priority. When I finally did get help, it felt rushed and dismissive, like I was interrupting something more important. Completely killed the vibe. I walked in ready to spend money, grab a few cupcakes, a coffee, maybe make the moment feel a little more special--and instead I grabbed the bare minimum and left. If you're going to brand yourselves as a welcoming "safe space," that standard should apply to everyone, not just in theory. Because in practice, this felt cliquey, inattentive, and the opposite of welcoming. I'll be posting photos of the messaging in-store so people can decide for themselves. Do better.

Truly unprofessional. No sure who there made my friend's cake, but whoever made it was new because they have no baking skills. We were goi for a red cake, there were multiple emails back and forth to make sure it was correct. We went to pick the cake, and we got a brown one with a green picture. Never again. I can even be mad. Literally made me laugh for the trashy job they did. If I could give them a 0/5, believe I would.

At the store, I shared the date for pick up and details accordingly and your team inaccurately took the wrong notes. In addition, I paid in full that day after you took my orders. What I was hoping for was some accountability on your half for the wrong order and the wrong pick up date. Your team has made zero effort to make anything right. This was not worth the almost $200 cost that we paid. The cake was dry and old. The cupcake sizes were wrong as i explained this was very important we ordered the mini cupcakes because the kids can't eat the full size cupcakes. You baked my entire order for the wrong date so we had stale cake (old strawberries pictured on our cake). I even shared at pick up that I didn't care that I paid for full size cupcakes, just please switch them out for the mini cupcakes you had readily available in your display case - and you shared that per your policy you couldn't and that I needed to take the order as-is or pay more for any additional cupcakes. What's the point of completing the order in store if your team will note down the wrong order and the wrong pick up date? Your entire response to my review lacks accountability and more importantly, your response is inaccurate because I paid in-store per your request before I had a chance to review anything over email. Santa Barbara is a small community and I hope other customers see that this is NOT how you treat people, let alone a customer when you're clearly in the wrong. I've not once asked for a refund (nor did you ever offer one), but I am asking you consider taking some accountability for your actions.

The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. My second visit really sealed it for me. I had the bacon breakfast biscuit with maple mustard and it was phenomenal--honestly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. They have a good selection of doughnuts all unique flavors. The coffee is really good. The server for my coffee wrong but I ended up not correcting it because it was very good. I ordered the special salted caramel brown sugar but for the salted caramel instead. I wanted to go back to order another coffee. My first bite of the cream cheese everything doughnut I was disappointed. But as I ate it more there was more cream cheese which I enjoyed. Sour: we ordered other doughnuts as well. We were pretty full all day so we didn't get to try the others till the next day. I'm guessing we should have forced ourselves to eat it the same day. The flavors were good. We ordered brown butter, carrot cake and pistachio lemon. By day 3 they were completely bad and very hard. The everything doughnut is not consistent in the amount of cream cheese inside. The one I had next day was not as filled as the first one I had. We ordered some doughnut holes as well and the glazed was melting. If I'm ever back in town I'll go for the coffee for sure and order 1 doughnut so I can have it fresh.

So many of our wedding guests made a point to comment on how fresh and flavorful it was. My dad even went back for a second slice because he loved it that much! Working with Lele and her team was such a joy. Lele is so kind, thoughtful, and accommodating--she made the entire process feel smooth and stress-free. She was always responsive and helpful via email and genuinely cared about making sure we were happy with the final product. One of my favorite parts of the experience was the deconstructed cake tasting. Every flavor we sampled was amazing--it was honestly hard to choose because they were all so good! But in the end, the combination we selected for our wedding day turned out perfect. I couldn't stop eating the cake afterward--it was that good! I wholeheartedly recommend Lele Patisserie to any couple looking for a cake that's as delicious as it is beautiful, and a team that's an absolute pleasure to work with. The bun was fresh, soft, loaded with icing, but it just didn't wow me. It wasn't bad, but I wanted amazing, and it just wasn't. So far, nobody or nothing can compare with my high ideals for a cinnamon bun/roll, but that's okay. I keep searching. As for the coffee cake, that was just weird. It was more like a cookie base, a layer of nuts mixed with brown sugar and other ingredients, and then a layer of cake... but it didn't have any noticeable flavor profile, and it was kind of dry. It didn't work for me. Kinda boring. As for the chocolate chip cookie, it was good, but again, nothing great. I've definitely had better. Maybe we should have tried a loaf of bread, but we didn't. I don't think it's worth a return here to find out, though. They seem to be doing well enough without me, so that is how it'll remain. Oh well.
