My first experience with BouNom was a summer Sunday back in 2020. I had seen it nominated for best…read morebakery in Connecticut magazine and my family and I decided to take a ride out there to try it. That experience was absolutely life-changing. Not only were the pastries absolutely extraordinary, but I experienced what may have been the most hospitable customer service ever. While my family enjoyed our pastries and cherry lemonade in the exquisitely decorated cafe, the owner came over and sat down with us to chat. She then proceeded to give us a variety of other pastries to try (on the house) and even introduced us to some of her staff before we left. I could not get over that experience and I proceeded to tell everyone I knew that they absolutely had to try BouNom. Since that day, BouNom has become synonymous in my family with special occasions. What do I want for Mother's Day? A trip to BouNom. My daughter's choice for birthday breakfast? BouNom. The fact that it is a bit of a hike for us is no deterrent whatsoever. If we know we are even remotely headed to that area, a suggestion of BouNom is always made and enthusiastically agreed upon. My personal recommendation would be the Cherry Vanilla Cream Cheese croissant. The portion so big that it takes me two days to finish. My daughter would say pain au chocolat or the chocolate chip banana muffin. My husband loves anything with fruit and often bounces around the different specials that are offered. We usually place an order online the night before and, while ordering a coffee during pickup, we might find a few more treats to put in our box. How lucky we are to have this treasure in our corner of Connecticut!

The owner is so generous and loving and you can tell that this is a genuine passion of hers. Whether you preorder, go in and sit or take away you will have a great experience. I recently learned that if you put in a pre-order and the shop closes early, you can still pick your pre-order up at the candy store ( BouNom Emporium) across the way. She's really thought of everything!

They've been around since 2012 and offers a variety of treats; from macarons, cupcakes, bars, pies, truffles, and cookies. There are three locations; Avon, South Windsor, and West Hartford. This one in Avon is super cute and whimsical; love the decor with the picture frames on the wall. There was a table and some chairs to enjoy your treats. I decided to get a few macarons, bars, and a cupcake. All were so good but my favorite were the macarons. They were the perfect texture, lightly crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. This place is definitely a gem and I can't wait to go back!

But there may be more options available.... Definitely worth a pop-in to get something small and taste the deliciousness. Regardless, the interior is beautiful decorated. It feels like a modern tea room with some availability to sit. The walls are a beautiful calm blue. They have some cold drinks, and the cups cakes - very moist, definitely have standing life in them. The employee was very kind and friendly, and the shop seems smoothly run. The shop seems to be in two plazas, and have designated parking on either side next to the building. Watch carefully for the signs, because the plaza is a little nondescript from the road.

"You need bread, try the bakery You need lovin', look here,…read morebaby I got just what you need" (The Doors) Well, whatever your needs might be, you'll probably take care of it at Giuseppina's Italian Bakery, because they really do have it all. Their website, counters, shelves, and showcases offer you temptations everywhere you look. Want a pastry? What kind of a question is that....sure you do, so how on Earth are you going to choose between these? Cannoli, Tiramisu, 3 kinds of mousse, eclairs, frosted or plain brownies (are you bold enough to get a brownie with peanut butter buttercream frosting?), cream horns, rum rolls, an amazing peach concoction of sweet dough soaked with peach juice and rum and filled with vanilla pudding (!), Sfogliatelle, Zeppol, cream puffs, NY style cheesecake, fruit slices (peaches and strawberries with whipped cream layers and frosting), pasticiotti, cappuccino slices, Amaretto Squares, Limoncello Cake Slices and Chocolate Brownie Cake Slices. And there's more - miniature pastries, Cheese danish, apple, raspberry and blueberry turnovers, Cranberry Orange scones, blueberry scones, chive scones, and roasted red pepper scones, lemon and cherry squares. Get the picture? And I haven't mentioned their Italian cookies, 25 cake varieties, cupcakes, cake pops, pizza slices, sandwiches and stuffed breads. The truth is, this place is fantastic and is clearly in the top ten percent of Italian bakeries we've visited. We picked up an assortment of cake slices, a croissant, a scone, and a donut yesterday. They all looked amazing! We started off splitting that donut, and it was great -very light, not too sweet and just plain delicious. Shout out to the young lady who waited on us, she was pleasant and friendly, and our interaction was a far contrast to some of the less than favorable interactions reported by other Yelpers. PRO TIP 1) Don't worry about parking- they're in a shopping center with plenty of parking. 2) How good does their fig, prosciutto and Asiago cheese stuffed bread sound?
