But I had a gift card so off I went. Patty welcomed me into her beautiful home ... a fire going and nice music, and I met the three others in our class, one of whom also came alone. A sip of wine later and I was facing my own naked bird at my own station in her huge kitchen -- on my own board with my own knives -- waiting to be cut up. Patty was so patient with me ... helping me hold the knife, find the joints ... and before I knew it I had six beautiful pieces ready to be prepared in 3 different recipes. We cooked every last part of those birds along with a delicious rice dish and sat down a few hours later to a leisurely meal admiring our work. We could have stayed there until the wee hours at her table, the four of us and Patty; we felt completely at home. (Except that she cleaned up!) She also does children's classes. My kids went this summer. She was excellent with keeping them all on task and managing her kitchen with six messy little ones having a ball. Oh --- and she does a Thai class ... that's the one I want to do next. I ate as much as I could. I left with the rest of my food in to go containers ready to serve my family today, and with the confidence to cook again tomorrow. I feel so confident now ... I want to try chopping onions and swirling butter and making my own stock at home.

I had the chance to try some of her appetizers and desserts at an event. Everything was amazing…read more.. the arancini balls, the Spanish tortilla, curried chicken sandwiches, the dips, confetti cookies, and hummingbird cupcakes, just to name a few. I asked the event host who made all the delicious treats and was introduced to Patty. She was very kind, personable, and encouraged me to keep eating! I hope to take one of her classes or use her talents for one of my own events.

In 1968 popular musician Skitch Henderson and his wife Ruth purchased the property as a personal retreat. The couple hosted musical performances, art exhibitions, and cooking demonstrations led by prominent chefs. In later years nonprofit and national historic landmark status was established for the property. ATMOSPHERE: Events take place in a repurposed post and beam barn. The beams are exposed, giving a rustic charm. EXPERIENCE: Alessandro Piovezahn, the current steward of the nonprofit property, is actively looking to revive the Silo's influential public events. I enjoyed an intimate concert that featured the work of a five-time Emmy-award winning composer Jeff Beal. A legendary Steinway piano brought his music to life. A reception in the barn preceded the concert, with food prepared by Chef Constantine (Dino) Kolitsas of New Milford's Greca Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar I also enjoyed an evening cooking class with Chef Carlos Perez of Litchfield's At the Corner restaurant. In the course of the three hour class we were guided on culinary techniques by Chef Carlos Perez and his former colleague Chef Billy Ross (now at New Milford's Greca). I greatly enjoyed learning how to make a thoughtful fall menu that includes popular dishes served At the Corner, and dining on the co-prepared dishes with fellow foodie community members. Given limited of 16 registrants, everyone was active. I already registered for another class with Chef Billy Ross. SELECTION: Classes representing a variety of cuisines and dish types are available, including gingerbread house-making, pasta, and risotto. TIPS: Check the farm's Facebook and Instagram accounts for event schedule. The class + dinner and cocktail was $125 per person. The Silo will host a winter farmers' market this year.

I had signed up for a Saturday morning cooking class 7/3 as a gift to my wife, but had an emergency that prohibited us from attending class. My wife called the school that morning and was told it would be no problem as we could select another class over the summer. I took them at their word, but after leaving FOUR voicemail messages spanning three weeks, no one bothered to return my call. I stopped by the school and left a message with a gentleman teaching a cooking class to please return my calls, but again I was never called back. Having exhausted attempts to reach the school to schedule another class, I decided to contest the $300 charge with my credit card co for the class I could not attend. Here it is 9/29 and the proprietor has not yet reached out to me, but has decided to keep my money stating the terms and conditions. I find this business lacks ethics for a small town like New Milford. Buyers beware! Please note the 9/17 call/message was not returned.

Since then, we've learned how to make our own sushi, sour dough, pastries, street foods, pasta, stuffed grape leaves, chocolate mousse, Mexican foods, Mediterranean foods, baklava, paella, and so much more! We rarely eat out anymore since we now know how to confidently make it ourselves, and our own cooking now tastes so much better than at a restaurant. We've even lost weight - bonus! And the tips for where to find ingredients and make our own vanilla extract for just pennies have been amazing! I needed to leave this review because for the second Christmas in a row I've made paella as I was taught at Capital Cooks by Caroline and it turned out so amazingly perfect! The family non-stop kept complimenting how great it tasted, and it got devoured. Thank you, Caroline, for what has become our new Christmas tradition meal, and it's actually fun to cook it! You're amazing. Your husband Paul is awesome! Thank you both for the education you've given my wife and me. We are already signed up for a couple more classes in the coming months!

I went through the Audi Training Program afterwards, and have seen reward from this. The teachers (for the most part) are excellent, and very well trained. They know what they're talking about, and a genuinely interested in your education. The other staff are very friendly and helpful. On the downside, the facility is run down. Alit of equipment needs to be repaired. Alit of the training aids need to be updated. Also, the staff are poor at communicating. It's hard to find information and figure out what is going on sometimes. Also the school doesn't like to give snow days. Often I've had to drive through terrible conditions to get to school. And even when there are snow days, vthey don't tell you the day before, like everyone else. They call you at 5 or 6 AM that day. School starts at 7AM, so if you live farther away, you might not find out until too late. The dorms are horrendous, so don't even consider them. They are rampant with drugs, alcohol, fights, and prostitutes. They don't even get a 1 star. Don't live in the dorms. To be honest, I'd give the Lincoln Tech experience a 3.8 star out if 5. It's a good school, but there's also alot of room for improvement. The career services department is excellent as well. Jenn Nunes has found me excellent job opportunities. Also to note, the Student Supervisor Aaron Oates is very good at his job. I go to him whenever I have a question is misunderstanding, and he's very helpful.
