Stay away from this absolute garbage company that will find any reason not to pay a repair. Literally thousands of dollars spent for this warranty that expires in October. I've tried to use it once for a tire pressure sensor and they have the most ridiculous reason to deny the claim, because it's considered excluded under the cell phone and electronic equipment. While it's not specifically listed but because it transmits wirelessly they lump it in there without being transparent about the items covered. They said they don't have to list it out typical scam artist behavior I hope they go bankrupt read more

I purchased a contract with them for thousands of dollars. Pieces of my engine that were covered by the contract broke and they refused to pay because they were broken by another part that was not covered. Now, I've wasted thousands more dollars on repairs, a rental car (which they also do not cover, by the way), and the extended amount of time on the repairs because the contractor had to send an inspector to see the parts. I paid over $3300.00 for a warranty on my 2019 Nissan Frontier. When the fuel pump went out on November 1,2024 & there is NO part available worldwide as Nissan discontinued to manufacture, AUL took advantage and refused to pay the claim. Although, there were other alternatives, AUL denied the claim and indicated they would only pay if I used a brand new fuel pump from Nissan. They knew that was available and would not be available. I tried to comprise with a used pump and they declined to compromise. I've had to get Attorney General involved, attorneys and they are still refusing. I attempted to cancel the warranty and get a refund for the portion not used, and they refused to refund anything. Basically, this company wants your money and will not be there for you when needed. As a repair facility I will never accept a claim contract form AUL again. They ordered and had a transmission delivered to my shop in Ukiah, Ca. but did not cover the shipping cost. AUL WARRANTY COMPANY is a complete fraud. I bought a used truck with 110,000 miles and purchased the warranty for $3,000. The salesman told me it was bumper to bumper for 100,000 miles. I've had numerous issues with this truck including transmission went out, exhaust camshaft went out, starter, electrical switches quit working, and now I'm having trouble with even getting the car to turn over. Every time I take it to the shop, they have denied my claim. I've spent $7,000 in repairs on the truck. The warranty company has paid zero. Just the transmission alone was $6,900. For a remanufactured transmission. The warranty company paid nothing. Again. What a complete scam and waste of money. You're an idiot if you purchase any warranted from this company. When I purchased my vehicle it came with an "AUL Lifetime Powertrain Warranty". I also purchased the "AUL Wrap" warranty that adds to the "Lifetime Powertrain Warranty" to ensure total coverage of my vehicle. I was told it covered any powertrain faults outside of abuse. On 16SEPT2024 my vehicle overheated and I immediately pulled over. The shop it went to advised a new engine was needed. At first, AUL (warranty company) denied my claim outright stating the warranty does not cover overheating. It is towards the end of their contract, Section 8, Line F, part b. It states "overheating, regardless of the cause of overheating...". The warranty is sold as "AUL Lifetime Powertrain Warranty" which covers "Engine Group, Turbo/Supercharger Group, Transmission, Transaxle & Transfer Case Group (4x4/AWD), Drive Axle Group (Front & Rear), Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Group, Seals and Gaskets". This is listed under the Powertrain. My vehicle had that coverage plus the upgraded "Wrap" overage. After a few phone calls/emails, I was able to get them to agree to repairing the vehicle up to the head gasket. My service advisor informed me a new engine was needed but AUL still denied. The head was sent to the machine shop to be tested and it failed. AUL vehemently refused to cover the head and would only honor up to the head gasket. I ended up paying over $1,900.00 out of pocket to have a new head purchased and installed. I also paid for the oil change that was necessary because of a flush that AUL refused to pay for as well. read more

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know how a business named AUL Extended Warranty Company, does business by ripping consumers off. I am hoping you can help me, or at least point me in the right direction. In October 2021 I purchased a used 2017 Chrysler Pacifica from Dodge Jeep Ram on Naglee Road, Tracy, Ca. At the time of purchase, the dealership talked us into buying an extended Powertrain Lifetime warranty and service contract from AUL Corp. By May the vehicle started having issues with hard/rough shifting. We took the car in and the dealership did a transmission software update. This helped for a few months, but then the car started again with the transmission rough/hard shifting. Some of the times, the car felt like it was rear ended. That is how hard the car was shifting into gears. My wife and two kids were in the vehicle and that spooked them a bit. This is a major safety concern! One morning in Feb 2023, I started up the car and it began to shake, and I could hear swishing sounds near the passenger side. Right away the engine light turned on. We took the car to the dealership, and they found an error code "P0305 Cyl 5 Misfire" No codes regarding a hot engine, or overheating engine were found. They also found the coolant bottle low and found coolant in Cyl 5. They concluded that the right cyl head was warped. After further investigation the engine block was cracked or warped and advised us that the car needed a new engine. The dealership service team contacted AUL and Protective Asset and described their findings. AUL immediately denied our claim over the phone, without any inspection of the vehicle. We complained further and AUL finally sent over and inspector. And of course, after the inspection AUL denied the claim, saying that it was caused by us driving the vehicle while it was overheating. This is false!! We never drove the car while it was overheating. There were no indications of a hot overheating engine. No error code for a hot engine. No engine light indication an overheating engine. The only time I saw the engine light turned on was that morning in Feb 2023. We asked Aul for a copy of the inspection report and they denied us a copy of the report. Why would they deny a report of the inspection? Are they hiding something? Was this inspection performed by a certified mechanic/technician? Are these inspectors contracted out or are they employed by AUL. So many questions have been unanswered, and we are stuck with a $13,000 estimate for a new engine. This is ridiculous and unfair. How do these types of businesses get away with theft? AUL Corp and Protective Asset do not honor their end of the deal. In my opinion, they are fraud and a scam. Buyers beware of these warranty companies, they take your money and run!!!!! I wanted to leave a 0 star review, but had to leave at least 1 star to be able to post the review of this dishonest AUL Corp company !!!! read more

I purchased their extended warranty on a 2 year old vehicle that was bought at a dealership. The SUV had a recall issue. I returned the SUV to a dealership. I live in CA. As a result I had to come out of pocket for labor costs which will always be the case given the reimbursement matrix. If you live in a state that charges above the national average, this is an expensive inconvenient insurance. Additionally, their customer service is very hard to reach. This review doesn't come as a consumer who has purchased a policy from AUL, but from a person who calls in claims from a repair shop. I've found over the years and many dozens of phone calls making claims and thousands of dollars claimed that they have been responsive and very easy to work with. Even when a claim is not covered they've documented the call so the insured can call in for answers. Whether or not they get answers? That I don't know. Reading the reviews it does make me sad that most people seem to want to beat AUL up when most times it's the "dealer" or contract seller that is in error by overpromising and/or even lying about what is covered. That makes AUL and people like me who calls in the claim the bad guy when your furry is not directed at the correct target. If you're thinking about purchasing a contract make sure to do YOUR due diligence in coverage and make sure YOU understand what it is you are purchasing just like any other insurance policy or big ticket item you are purchasing. read more

WARNING! ALERT! Failure to Pay Claim! I purchased an AUL Powertrain Plus Warranty and my trucks air conditioner needed repair during the warranty period of said contract. The repairs needed were new compressor, a/c kit, o ring, labor etc. totaling $1707.83. Several calls were made by the Ford Dealership Service Writer and myself to the AUL customer claims service to initiate a claim for the repair. In my opinion, it appeared from the beginning these people were out to screw me. They placed me on eternal hold, stating give me a minute while I check with my supervisor story (which seemed like hours) and we're uncooperative to the ninth degree! In fact, the last ignorant rep I dealt with even chuckled loudly and seemed to enjoy giving me the news that they weren't going to pay. Therefore, I just wrote the dealer I bought the truck from requesting to cancel my worthless AUL contract for a full refund. Further, in my opinion, it appears so many of these warranty companies use bad faith practices to beat us out of our money, especially looking at the poor reviews they have received! read more

If zero stars was an option, that's what it would be. BUYER BEWARE, peace of mind is all they will provide, if you actually need them that's a different story. I bought a used truck, this truck was 16 years old and had 77K miles on it but because it was a "Specialty" (Daytona SRT Ram 1500) sales financial guy said it qualified. So I bought the "Reserve" full meal deal coverage! 9 Months later the automatic transmission fails on the freeway, AUL is quick to answer says yes it's covered and I even had roadside assistance and towing and they quickly made the tow to AAMCO happen. At this point I was super happy with AUL! 2 WEEKS after AAMCO got my truck they call me and say AUL denied the claim due to Modified Parts. With the exception of the air filter all of which are FACTORY mods for the Daytona, that being said I read through my AUL policy paper work and this is what it says for "Not Covered" (verbatim) "*section 8, part C...Any Mechanical Breakdown or failure that occurs to or results from non-standard (any component not installed by the original manufacturer) and goes on to list other high performance parts. The key takeaway here is Occurs to or results from. They never even opened the transmission or removed the pan, I ask you, how could you possibly know what caused the failure without that being done? So they simply assume since I have a fancy new air cleaner and Factory Mod header pipes that this is what caused an internal failure of my automatic transmission?! So, since they won't return my calls, this is my new plan. I will get the repairs done at my own expense, I will then have the repair facility ship my bad transmission to a Dodge Service center where I will pay them to tear it down and determine what caused it to fail. If it wasn't any Modified piece of equipment that caused it, then my attorney will file claim under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and we will go from there. I will also video document this process and update this posting with a link to view. I already have video of the automated answering hanging up on me after 40 minutes on hold and the voicemails (unanswered) that I have left. read more

I purchased a 2011 Cadillac CTS from an off brand dealership in Davis, CA. Upon purchasing this used vehicle, I also purchased an extended warranty form AUL Corp. on April 16, 2021. Fast forward to May 3, 2021 and I took the car to the dealership in Chico, CA to have the new fob that I purchased from Cadillac ($209.00) married to the car because the one that came with the car was on it's last legs. In the meantime, the check engine light came on - so since I was there they ran the diagnostics on the car, and it had two valve leaks and when they looked at this, they discovered all the motor mounts were broken. Needless to say, at this point, I'm panicking - they called AUL to see about what was covered on the extended warranty - and AUL said they wouldn't cover any of it because the contract was too new. There is no beginning date listed on the contract that I signed - so, since the sale went through and it was financed - all bases covered - correct. Wrong. Now I'm stuck for a $2500 repair bill. They denied my claims and refuse to answer questions. I purchased a used car and the estate coverage contract in mid November. Since then my car is burning through oil. 6 quarts in 1000 miles. Took it to my dealership which sent me to Audi because they weren't equipped to perform an oil consumption test and detected no visible leaks. At this time service agent informed me that I'd just pay the $100 deductible and swing back through when the oil light comes back on or after 750 miles. Took the car to the Audi service which informed me the pcv valve is aftermarket and must be an original one to perform the test. Due to it not being a failing part, (and he informed me the pcv valve could be responsible for the excessive oil consumption) they denied coverage. I went back and forth with no resolution from my dealer or aul. The pcv valve is $355 It's been 5 days now and after getting the run around from all involved, aul has also denied to cover the oil consumption test. Which I'm now informed is $160 to start and $160 to inspect after the miles/oil light come on. I've asked for invoices and pricing the entire time while being assured that it would all sort itself when they file claims. I was told I would possibly have to cover the pcv valve myself, so I attempted to communicate with the dealership to come to a fair resolution (split the part? Whatever they would agree to. None of that was even an option and they're denying any wrong doing.) So a "$100" diagnostic is now $675 to me out of pocket and no one is taking responsibility. I was sold this policy by the finance representative at the dealership. I was told every single thing was covered. My dealership is saying aul isn't cooperating. My sales rep has admitted to knowing nothing about the policies. Their service manager can't give me answers. I also asked if someone could confirm that the pcv valve would not affect coverage when it is complete and we find out where the car is losing oil. Everyone at my dealership has said it's in their interest to deny claims and that's 'how these things work.' I called aul which said there were notes of an upcoming tests but that they didn't approve any service on my car. Upon asking if that affects future repairs i did not get any answers either. Today I asked again why neither service was covered and I was given yet another reason, the pcv valve apparently isn't covered because it's emissions related and I wasn't given a real answer about the oil consumption test. Everyone I've spoken to at the dealership is telling me that aul isn't cooperating and they just can't do anything about it. I paid $4200 for my policy and am pretty sure they will find any way to wiggle out of being responsible for claims. read more
