Augusta Coffee Bar located at the corner of Augusta Ave and Baldwin St. is a new coffee shop and roaster serving caffeinated drinks and delicious pastries. Having opened about a month ago (currently in their soft opening phase), they are still in the process of setting up seating for the space as well as setting up their roaster (where they will be distributing their coffee beans to other cafes in the city). Their pastries are from Lazy Dough, a new-ish bakery which opened just in Aug this year. The coffee shop is open daily from 8am (which is a great option if you work or go to school around the area!). I stopped by Augusta Coffee Bar on a Monday morning around 8:30am. Kensington Market is usually pretty quiet during that time. The coffee shop was quiet as well which was nice. Upon entering the café, you notice the big space they have. I also gravitated towards the display full of pastries (which all looked delicious!). There is also a coffee roaster at the back of the store. I opted to grab a cortado and a pastry (called pig in a blanket - sausage wrapped in a croissant pastry). I was able to choose the type of bean they used in my cortado. My beverage was made at a reasonable time. The staff was friendly and mentioned that they still plan on putting seating in the space as well will have a dedicated area to coffee events/workshops. My cortado was made well and tasted delicious. My pastry was also delicious! I definitely cannot wait to see how the space transforms over the next few months. This is another great option for coffee right in the heart of Kensington Market! Definitely recommend you check out their offerings if you are around the area!

Just got back from Asia. This is a new coffee shop that just opened within five months. Much better than the Starbucks that wanted to open here. They do in-house roasting which is really cool. And they also have a workshop so if people are coffee enthusiast Are able to participate in classes. Drip coffee is around five bucks. They have a nice study area and is very clean and modern. It could be a good remote job Place.

Really impressed by this new coffee spot. They have a mix of beans available, the default is from Brazil. The latte was delicious, with a distinct salty caramel flavour. They also have beans available from Ethiopia and Colombia. One of the baristas was explaining that all the roasts are medium to medium light. The space is quite large and clearly new. I'm sure that soon there will be seating as well.

The image shows the interior of Augusta Coffee in Toronto, ON, with a wooden counter where customers are ordering. Several people are standing in line or waiting, including a woman in a white coat and a person with a dog. The space features a tiled floor, exposed ceiling pipes, and posters on the wall advertising the coffee bar. The environment appears casual and contemporary.

From my first gaze at this place, to now being back home in Vancouver, this is one place I truly miss, and this coffee is a winner. A few weeks back I was sitting with my friend eating tacos directly across the street, it was a nice Saturday morning, and we haven't gotten our coffee in our systems to really start our day yet. We saw Augusta... and I couldn't find much at the time, except stellar reviews, and all of them were like at most a month old. I am game to try anything, especially when people are spreading word that it is good, so we went in..... a small lineup, no matter, saw some baked goods... passed on those and went to order my Americano. Walked around Kensington market, and both me and my friend were happily drinking our caffineated drinks, walking right down to the donut shop (IYKYK) and after we had a small sweet with our last drip of coffee... we were so surprised how good it was.... we walked right back into Augusta (true story). The place is a beautiful corner shop, with light coming from both directions, and the coffee operations right in the middle of the place. I went and ordered the exact same Americano, but this time they asked what beans I wanted, either from Brazil, Ethiopia or Columbia.... which is cool as you can have your pick. Regardless if you are a coffee connoiseur or just a casual drinker... I know this place has got your covered. For me it just sucks that I got to fly to get to this one!

Coffee and croissant cookie - On a wooden table outside a coffee shop, there is a croissant wrapped in white paper, a glass of water, and a latte with foam art in a clear glass. The background shows a busy street with pedestrians, parked cars, and a white van, with storefronts and people walking along the sidewalk.

This coffee shop is nestled semi-behind a pillar beside the lobby of the Intercontinental hotel Toronto, which adds to its charm for me, in a way. Love finding a good "hole in the wall" :) I love the bright, feminine, beachy decor and coral pink & aqua blue accents. It's not too tropical, but it definitely transports you outside of Canada. Coupled with Aussie staples like vegemite and Noosa magazines (takes me straight back there!), as well as gorgeous ceramic coffee mugs for purchase, the vibes are great here. While it is a smaller shop, there is enough seating for 3 tables, and it's very cozy. Had to go for a flat white, given the Aussie homage here. This one got my approval (and I'm picky about my flat whites) - they used a lighter, more balanced espresso roast, paired with just the right amount of creamy frothed milk. They also had a banana bread latte that my companion really enjoyed too! Looking forward to my next visit!

It's a tiny, cozy place with only a couple tables and tall chairs, so they can really only accommodate grab-and-go orders, other than a few people to sit or work. Perfect for a coffee before a Jays game or if you're here for a conference next door. I realized it was already late fall and I hadn't yet had my one and only PSL of the year, so that's what I ordered. It was decent as far as PSL's go and came with a lovely little foam pumpkin on top. Tres adorbs. The iced strawberry matcha latte also looked incredible and I had order envy. My friend ordered a pastry and said it was delicious. They also have a great little selection of food items, canned bevvies, coffee beans, teas, as well as souvenir gifts for purchase such as ceramic mugs. Did I mention the coffee was really good?

The pastries and mochi breads are absolutely exquisite! I tried the black sesame mochi bread--light, pillowy, and filled with a delightful little white mochi surprise. The crème brûlée almond tart was incredible too, with its thick, eggy custard and a blueberry-almond center. And the Hitotoki matcha tart? Gorgeous and just perfect. It was my first visit, and I discovered the bakery through their 2nd-anniversary IG post. I bought about $20 worth of treats and got to spin their prize wheel--and I actually won the Grand Prize: a limited-edition gold Nespresso & milk frother kit! I literally jumped for joy. Yet another reason to love this incredible bakery!

It was okay. Tried three items:…read more Matcha Lava Tart - The staff said this had the strongest matcha flavour among their matcha items. But there was no "lava" at all... just a layer of cream sitting on a thick tart base. You do get some matcha flavour, but definitely not that rich and flowing matcha sauce I saw in those online reels. Matcha Mont Blanc - Too sweet. The green noodle-shaped topping is actually made from a kind of bean paste - not much matcha taste, but had a strong bean flavour instead. And again, it was too sweet to my liking. Taro Tart - This one was good. Taro-flavoured cream on top, with taro paste underneath, then a layer of custard with mochi at the bottom. Had a rich taro flavour. Still a bit sweet, but not as overwhelming as the Mont Blanc. Overall it was not bad, although TBH I haven't really found great matcha desserts in Toronto so far.
