There was a gentleman who served us. The store sells masala chai packaged in small tins/bag, ground coffee, coffee beans, coffee accessories, flavour syrups, cookies, biscotti and so much more. There was one table with four chairs but it was used to place inventory. We took our drinks to go. We ordered the Velvet Latte with Oat Milk and Pumpkin spice latte. The Velvet latte tasted very similar to a Spanish latte. The pumpkin spice was pretty good except I found the syrup to be a bit too strong for my taste buds. It's a good spot to try if you're in the area and want to try something different.

You can tell them your preferred roast and they'll pick the beans based on your preference. They have a wide selection of beans and prices vary based on brand, but they're pretty much between $19-27. I'd definitely pick up some more beans next time I'm in the area! This time I got 42 because I told them I make espresso drinks (eg latte) at home, so they picked something for me. My drink took about 7 minutes and it was full of flavour. It came with some biscoff, so it was a perfect match. They used the Chemex and did a double pour lol The staff told me they recently took over the soup business from a fellow vendor (within the market), so they've been getting busy trying to manage all the orders and customers. I purchased a Fellow Stagg EKG Pro kettle and a Timemore C5 Pro grinder from Pilot Coffee's Wagstaff location on August 31, 2026, for a total of $438.44. Both items remained unused and in their original condition and packaging. Within two weeks of purchase, I called Pilot Coffee headquarters as well as multiple locations specifically to ask how I could return them. I was told that I could only bring the items back in person to the Wagstaff headquarters. So on September 13, I drove to Wagstaff with both items and my original receipt, following exactly the instructions I had been given. Only after I arrived was I told that because my purchase was over $100, they could only process the return on a weekday AND when a manager was present. Neither requirement was mentioned when I called ahead specifically to ask about the return procedure. I was then given another option: email their customer service first, wait for return instructions, and then wait for them to initiate the refund. Again, none of this was mentioned when I called ahead. Their published return policy states that merchandise and brewing gear may be returned within 30 days if unused and in the original packaging. It instructs customers to contact them to start a return, but I could not find any mention there of a $100 threshold requiring a weekday visit with a manager present. To be clear, my issue isn't simply that Pilot Coffee has a particular return procedure. My issue is that I specifically called ahead to confirm that procedure, followed the instructions I was given, drove to the only location I was told could process the return, and was then presented with additional restrictions that had never been disclosed to me. The staff at Wagstaff also declined to provide me with any written confirmation that I had come in that day to attempt the return. I therefore submitted a formal return request by email while I was still at the location, documenting the condition of both items and my attempted return. Pilot Coffee, is making a return this unnecessarily difficult really worth the customer you lose in the process? If the goal is to discourage customers from returning higher-value purchases by making the process as inconvenient as possible, then the experience certainly gives that impression.

If you're looking for Roasted Seeds (beans) or Green Seeds, this is the "go to" place to get some! (Btw, coffee beans aren't beans, they're seeds, the seed of the coffee cherry. The flesh of the coffee cherry is removed and the seeds are "processed" into what we generally call "beans", but they're seeds!) Dark City has a wide variety of seeds, sourced thru distribution, but I think they also source them directly with the coffee plantations as well. If you want to support coffee growers more directly, then buy from here. The seeds are roasted to order! If you buy from Grocery stores, Costco, whatever, they'll all post an expiry date on their coffee. Expiry dates are stupid. Why? Well, as a person who buys Green seeds from Dark City and roasts his own coffee, I can tell you that I can tell the difference between "freshly roasted", like yesterday, and 3 week old coffee seeds. At 3 weeks, you can see that the crema isn't as visible or doesn't form as frothy and dissipates quickly. The taste is slightly less pungent (I drink espressos, black) and, like I said, I can begin to taste the difference @ 3 weeks. At 4 weeks, I can tell more and, as a rule, I try to roast enough coffee so that it lasts just over a month. That way, I can limit my roastings to 12 times a year. (Preferably, I would roast every week, but who drinks that much coffee and who has the time?) I can say much more but, be assured, at Dark City, you're getting farmer sourced seeds from Dave that better helps the farmers and you're getting expert roasters (like Kevin) who take pride in the quality of their work. Say hi to Julie when you pick up your order! I've tried finding another place like Dark City in the Metro Toronto area. I haven't found one. For parking, park across the street, that's what I do, cause they don't have enough.
