However, they sold me a unit that did not do the one feature I needed it to do (play an iPod/iPhone via USB). Tried to come back to find an alternative unit and all they would do is do the sleazy salesmanship. Won't take back or refund the unit. Trying to say they're "helping me out" by charging me another $200 for a brand new unit. Just go to Best Buy. Honestly. Save yourself the time and money. I received quick, knowledgeable information to get the best amp for my High Audiophile system which already had a Butler Tube Amp, Diamond Hex (German) speakers, Active Clarion Controller Crossovers, McIntosh head unit and JL Audio 10WX-4 8inch pair of bass speakers, a $4K system. Both Mo and Alex knew immediately the correct amplifier to use for the bass to get the best audiophile results. His price was well within the online pricing for the same model and the brand had an excellent reputation. I believe that Audio Matrix knowledge and wide choice of brands was very helpful for me and the depth of knowledge was exactly what I needed to balance the existing system. Looking through the reviews I can't help but notice, that most of the people do not sound like they have tried running their own business. Expecting that someone immediately has time for you without making an appointment, sounds more like a 12 year old stomping their feet. There is always added value in a local shop that can listen to your needs and help match your preferences to your auto type, cabin size and listening needs. If you think you can get that easily from shopping online, you are wrong. You can try reading through many reviews but you will be buying audio, without hearing or having anyone who has heard the quality and who knows your car type and what kind of music you want to hear. There are a lot of brands, each one tries to get new features out every few months. Some have problems. Some needs updates to fix it. You can update it yourself if you read through the manual. Why people blame the retail outlet for not reading their own manual is beyond me. Came in to update my entire audio system including aftermarket sub woofer. Ended up getting an entire hertz system add was able to get my steer wheel controls to work with Mike's recommendation. I bought a new (used) car and as usual my first stop was to Audio Matrix. Alex and his team of professionals are absolutely the only technical team in the south bay I would trust with my vehicles. Their high level expertise mixed with the incredible service is unmatched in the south bay. The heartless individual below forgets that people are in business to make money, and while I personally find the prices to be as good or better than the internet deals I find, AM is a business and their markup is extremely fair and reasonable. I personally keep returning (3rd time now) because of the incredible service I get. In a world were a tip is customary I do have certain expectations - and time and time again Alex and his team exceed them. The last two trips I did my homework (so I thought) walked in with a plan, got a quality install, with even better products than what I thought I wanted and left a truly happy customer. After bring my vehicle back Mo noticed that the remote that locks and unlocks my car wasn't working and immediately began trying to rectify it. Couple of years ago I wanted to install a sub in my ride, got a decent price with installation overall, not bad. Couple of months later I also bought new headlights and trusted them to install it, was kinda pricey but I still went ahead with it. I was watching the installer finish the job and as he shut the hood of my car and my keys were in his hands...the keys dug into the paint of my hood...who the hell does that?!? I must be the last person on earth who still listens to CDs. The CD player in my car broke after 140,000 miles. I went to Audio Matrix and spoke to Mike. He looked online and found an after market CD player for my car (2008 Lexus IS250). I live in the neighborhood so I was able to work from home on a Tuesday while he installed it, took about four hours. Six CD player works like a charm. Now I can listen to music in my car! Sounds great, quality work and very clean. It cost $500, I have no idea if that is a good price or not but I'm not complaining. They have been around forever!! I brought in my beater car and they treated me and my car as if I was driving a Lamborghini. They updated my old HID headlights to LED and troubleshooted my alarm system that I thought would need to be replaced. New switch and remote and I'm good to go. At first I was happy with these guys minus the fact they were trying to tell me that I needed to buy a new amp, The one I had was fine. I got new speakers put in with them and after a month or so my driver side speaker started to cut in and out. When I brought it in they were kind of rude with me basicly telling me that I didn't know what I was talking about. They eventually told me it was corrosion somewhere that caused it, didn't tell me where. about 2 weeks later the passenger side started doing the same thing. I came in with my boyfriend looking for a new stereo with added accessories for my Ford Focus. A lot of places don't carry the stereo for my model car, especially 2005 zx4, so i was happy when they had multiple in stock for mine. Mike helped us out. He was very knowledgeable! Let me start off by saying. I'm happy with the tint job, went with the viper tint so that gives you 2 stars because I couldn't give 1 1/2. With that being said, I really thought I found my go to guy for all things electronic with my cars. I spent a whopping $700 flat for installation of my amp and speakers (which I already had) and the viper tint. I thought to myself damn that's a lot so it must be done right if he can charge that and in Torrance of all places. Although my girl didn't pay anything near that who referred me but hey I'm not knocking the hustle she's cute. What I am knocking is the fact that I was on the 405 and started smelling something burning . I'm like my car doesn't even have 50k what the heck,so I pull off and nervously open the hood and to my surprise it was the fuse and wiring had caught fire so it not only melted the wiring but a cover to something under my engine that I'm sure is covering something important to operate the vehicle. I called the closet audio spot to my home in West L.A. When I arrived I pulled up opened the hood and it was smoking again. The owner came out and looked at the car. His eyes got big and said what is that (talking about the fuse and cover) he stated that the fuse was so big that it wouldn't blow so that's how the fire began because it just kept feeding power to the amp instead of blowing and cutting off. He also stated that if there is damage to the car that I would have to pay out of pocket because my warranty won't cover it because of the faulty installation job. The fuse was never secured in place and just hanging inbetween my battery and whatever is on the side of that. When the installation was first done I looked and I thought that's how it's suppose to be. How naive was I to think that the holes in the fuse cover was just for decoration and the mistake of whoever made the cover because they surely dodnt use them to secure the cover tight and sung like it is now. After spending $134 and some change for new wiring, fuse and a cover he told me to take my receipt to them and see if they were as amzing as he was because he said if that ever happened to him he would refund the money because if the fire were to spread I would have been out of 30k because my insurance wouldn't cover it due to me changing the car from factory standards. I nearly passed out because I never thought me having a professional install my radio could have me really in debt and of course I wouldn't be able to get another car because I already have a loan with a high car payment. They also installed a piece on the back side of my license plate because they said the rattling was ghetto and sounds like a garage job versus a professional installation. Oh that was free btw (this is how West L.A. does buisness Lol). So I took his advice and went down to Torrance to audio matrix. I walked in and to my surprise I saw no-one for a min or 2. Then I see the sales associate who originally helped me from the jump, I explain to him what happen and he says, looking me dead in my eyes "that's not our problem" I replied how do you figure that, he says because how do I know you got your installation done here. I say well I'll wait while you pull my file up and he says we don't keep receipts longer than a month. I replied so what happens when there's an audit. No respone. I explained that it caught fire and even as he's reading the new repair receipt he says how was there a fire comma I explained to him that I smelled smoke coming from the engine bay I pulled over everything with melted I had to go immediately somewhere to have it repaired so that it did not catch fire again and when I pulled up it was smoking and soundtronics handle the problem from there. He says well I'm confused on what you want us to do about this I'm say I would like for you guys to write your own and pay for the installation of the new product fuse hand wiring. He says all this seems a little high for what they did and I don't think we're going to be able to give you that money back it's not our fault that this happened. I don't understand how a business can give you less than quality service and then feel as though they're not in the wrong when they know that they should have secured the fuse and not use a few so big to wear when there is a fire it wouldn't short out. That is like going to a hair salon and getting a perm 3 weeks later your hair falls out you go back to the stylist and say my hair fell out and The Stylist says it's not my fault that is completely and utterly unacceptable I cannot believe that I had dealings with them because when I first walked in he said how do I know that you did your installation but then he said that he remembered me because they were trying to drill the amp into the back of my seat and I explain to them before the installation that I had heated rear seat and it would damage them. BE VERY CAREFUL HERE!!!!. They are scammers. I brought my car in to get tinted windows, Install a bra on front of car, and Install wind deflectors. It took several times and trips to get it done (UBER cost each time) then he couldn't put on the window deflectors as he said they were the wrong ones. (I ended up installing myself with youtube) He knew I was leaving state. He charged me over 500.00 Window tinting is 250.00 max, then the bra which was easy (Say 50.00). When I asked for my money back for the window deflector install he said he wasn't charging me for that service (What a nice guy). Give me a break. I over paid by 200.00 minimum. I talked to him again to get refund and he said again he didn't charge me originally. (He even left the old glue on the car from the old deflectors he installed a few years earlier, see photos) I would be very careful here. I will take it as a 200.00 lesson. I am very disappointed in this place.Went for a car alarm the nephew was to busy trying to make beats on his computer. Waited four hours for it to be installed when no other cars were there? WHAT'S UP WITH THAT. Two days later, the alarm is constantly going off even when I am driving. Took the car back about five times they said they wouldn't give me my money back because they had six months to try and fix it. No way, took my car somewhere else where they did a wonderful job. Visit on 12/20/2016 -- Went great. I spoke to Mike prior to stopping in as I had questions regarding the product. I wanted a Viper 5706V + Remote Start installed for my 2007 Honda S2000. I got the estimates, decided I wanted it, and went in 3 days later. Coming in, my car was the first one there and Mike verified the service order. I decided to add a proximity sensor after-the-quote. Hours later, I get my car with everything perfectly installed. I mentioned to Mike I didn't want the sensor to be too sensitive, and the Audio Matrix team got it done right. The proximity sensor is set up so that ONLY when someone hovers over my convertible top, warning beeps sound. My car remote starts perfectly, A/C on or off (depending on how I turned the car off). The remote has plenty of additional functionality if I want to program it. All-in-all, it was ~$250 more than originally quoted but things came up on my end that increased the overall price. The proximity sensor I wanted last minute was one thing. Another was a duplicate chipped key, because I didn't have a spare chipped key for my car. It added an additional $100.00, but that was actually cheaper than I expected. Other keys + programming would've cost AT LEAST $100 from anywhere else anyway, and way more at any dealership. And lastly, there was tax. I'll definitely be coming back. I'm looking for an upgrade on my entire sound system from head unit to the sub and everything in between. Mike and I are already discussing options. So far, I'm pleased. Mike and his team are great at what they do, true professionals. read more

Went in today to purchase replacement HID bulbs for my Scion. I had done research online and found pairs being sold from $15 to $30. I didn't want to wait for shipping so decided to go to Audio Matrix and they told me that a pair would cost $75 (same brand I found for $30). So I am giving Audio Matrix 1 star because I think they are overpriced. The work is actually ok however the pricing and salemanship is atrocious. They constantly try to upsell you, especially the kid working there. He tried convincing me I needed a 5 channel amp or a new radio (even though I just bought one from them about a year ago). All I wanted to do was replace a stock subwoofer with a better one and it was so obvious he was trying to oversell me on what I needed and at much higher costs. He even tried telling me only one subwoofer would fit lol...at a cost of $250 for an 8" subwoofer lol...His boss/dad/uncle?? accidentally walked in unkowning what was going on and mentioned another sub woofer that would fit. The Sony XS-GS80L. The kid was obviously lying as he kept saying different prices but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and paid $150 plus installation for it even though it retails for $99 (I checked afterwards). It was so obvious he was lying but I hoped it was only $20 or so he was trying to rip me off of not $50. It was so laughable until I realized just how much was the greedy rip-off. This place is neat. Alex is a fun guy with good knowledge of cars. I went to install an alarm system with remote controllers for my Toyota Corolla. They did a good job. They even re-wired the system to meet my expectation for how the fob shall function. I had hard time getting the problem solved earlier. I tried many Locksmith and recommended to go to auto alarm shop. I called Dealers, and they planned to charge me $250 for each fob reprogramming, which means $500 for 2? With only about $180 after tax, I got a working alarm system with 2 remotes. Just felt so great! Thanks to you all. Good job! read more

3 years ago I bought my first car a 1983 300sd mercedes benz. Had them instail 6 speakers go for the hertz sounds clean get a good amp to pair up. (You can't buy a bentley and put nexen tires on it) i pair a good price if your going to get audio in your car you have to be ready to push out 1,000 bucks and more if your going to get something that sounds good. Get a good alpine headunit you can use Bluetooth they even instail a mic for you and everything! I had a terrible accident totaling my car so I bought another 300sd and ripped out all the speakers and amps then i took it to them on a day off i had to upgrade headunit because i want sirius xm paid a fair price for the instail and the new headunit they did a neat job minimal wires exposed i played it to try it out wow sounds like a concert. They instail on motorcycles too play it LOUD thats what music is for i got two subs and the bass is clean get some dynamat so your bass stays in your car! I forgot to write my review on this place. Only reason now is because I got in our sequoia that my wife always drive and heard the bullshit speakers my son had installed without our permission. Now we had some blown jbl factory speakers but they still sounded better than the overly priced bullshit Orion speakers audio matrix installed. I got in a heated debate with the manager and told them they ripped my son off. You can get those 4 speakers on ebay or the web for $50.00 a pair. They charged my son $130 a pair. The manager didn't think I would have done my homework. Then he gave me and my wife some b.s gift for gab about tweeking the sounds . It's more but the bottom line is do your homework.
