He bought a radio for his 60s Chevy truck. he mentioned what the vehicle was and brought in the face plate to verify the fit. When he got home, he discovered the radio did not work. He took the radio back. Upon return, he was told that they would fix the radio. A week later, he returned to pick up the radio. He was told it had been repaired. At home he found out that the "repaired" radio not only didn't work but it was a different radio all together. He took it back and left it at the business. read more

Over charged me and didn't do a good job had to go to another shop to correct my audio system

I'll make this as short as possible. New car,wanted drivers and passenger window tinted, made appt, paid. Few days noticed passenger side bulbble, went back had to be redone. Made appointment (weeks away, tinter there only sometimes.) had window retinted. Days later notice little bubbles in driver tint. Went back, guy put me in book to redue tint. Finally retinted. Stopped to get gas AND I KID YOU NOT!!!! Checked passenger side and looked like small dust dots in tint. I went right back, now these dudes are sick of me. Desk guy, "Whats wrong now?" I exlpained. He told me i shouldn't be so picky...i said i just want what i paid for...other guy i deal with said what, i told him, he wasn't happy, said "dont you have anything better to do?" Before i had ride home' i didn't this time. He said 2 hours, pull up chair, sit or leave car, then walked away. K, i sat down called husband at work who left to come pick me up. Funny as soon as husband was there desk guy, went in the back to check. 15 minutes, car done, keys dropped in lap. Guy said walking away Dont roll windows down.. I have never had trouble here. Lots of stereos, alarms, tints etc been done Throughout the family. BECAUSE OF THE WAY I WAS TREATED IF I GET ANOTHER BUBBLE IN THE TINT I WILL RIP IT OFF BEFORE I GO BACK THERE/THEM. Fyi.. DO NOT GO HERE. I took my car in because my car radio was not working. I had a suspicion that the wiring on my radio was loose (because I had unprofessionally installed it myself). When I took my car in "Mo" told me it would be $85 just to look and diagnosis. Fine. Figured that would be the cost of labor for my radio to be installed the right way. He says he will call me once they take a look. I leave the store and he calls me no more than 20 minutes later saying "All 4 of your speakers are blown and need to be replaced." I tell Mo I want to get a 2nd opinion and he answers with "I don't know why you would, the problem is obvious." Along with other comments about how the "great deal on the speakers" he gave me today may not be available later. Whatever dude. I have knowledgeable family member take a look (should have done this first) and he properly rewires my stereo. Worked perfectly. Speakers were completely fine. HIGHLY IMMORAL BUSINESS PRACTICES. LADIES Beware! He tried to raise the price by 33% I (husband) called Matrix Audio first... I told the guy the job and I told him I had the parts and he quoted me a price of $150. Then I sent my wife in with her car to get the job done and (I waited outside) I called her while she was at the counter and told her to remind him that it was $150 price. He confirms and we leave the car. We get a call 2 hours later to pick up the vehicle. I have her walk in first I walk in a minute later... By the time I get there he's quoting her $225 for the price and saying that he never spoke to me. I walk in give her her key off the counter tell her to go check her car and make sure it sounds like it's supposed to and then all the parts are back in the trunk... She does and he starts to fuss about me not calling him and me lying on him and me never talk to him but he's the only one that answers his phone. Things are getting heated! He told me he was going to call the police on me and I told him to call the cops I don't care about that... In the end I gave him $149. Terrible Customer Service & Workmanship I left with a electrical shortage in my car & the store owner refused to double check my car Saying I had a bad alternator ( When I had just bought it 30 days prior ) & that it was my problem not his. The situation arised when the owner skipped my friend to help someone else However the owner didn't even follow up with what my friend needed. They checked the speaker and it was dead, he said it was dead then went and helped someone else. Could have said "it's dead, what would you like to do next?" But didn't. I get that customers aren't always super quick but like why lose your shit and make yourself look so hot headed and ignorant? Props to the employees tho. Helpful and able to diffuse the situation. As a bystander, I'm not a fan of how the owner/manager whatever handled the situation but I am a fan of the employees ability to communicate and diffuse the situation and actually went on with finalizing the sale. Even offered to do the installation for free then I hear "see how nice is that?" And they keep egging on my friend like he was trying to get mad Personally, i would have taken my business elsewhere. I made the mistake of taking my car to a really bad place that wired my car terribly wrong, left panels unfinished, etc. I brought my car in to Audio Matrix and spoke with Mike. Mike had a thorough look at the car and asked if I would leave it for a few hours. I received a call a few hours later and was told the car is finished. I was really skeptical about this claim of him being finished considering the disaster I left him with. I arrived to find my car completed, professionally finished with all panels perfectly completed, new grills installed and a complete rewire. The car sounds amazing. Mike could have taken me for a few grand, but he took the high road and rewired and saved me the money. His work is incredibly 'clean'. It also helps he is an engineer with the mindset of dialing it in correctly. From my experience, he won me as a customer for life. Went in and waited 40+ minutes (4:50p to 5:30p )while 1 customer asked questions to the one staff About everything from everything to radio, speakers , led lights, camera , alarms and I think probably anything you can possibly ask for... maybe even car air freshener lol... my question was probably gonna take less than 2 minutes and has $1k to $1.5k cash at hand ready to buy that very moment. When I first showed up to this place, I wanted a full system with speakers and subwoofer. The owner made me get one of the highest quality speakers they had told me that it would be perfect. The brand is called Hertz. I love the speakers but he did not inform me that I would need additional amplifier for the speakers. He only gave me an amp for my subwoofer. He overcharged me and I went somewhere else that told me they could've done the same thing for half price plus the amp I needed to give the speakers to hear the full potential I originally thought I was getting. 3rd time here last time took my car in stereo stopped working wouldn't power on got Installed by then about 1 1/2 years ago my highs or mids didn't work I rarely drive the car only to car shows. 2x a year took it back purchased another radio pioneer and 2 pioneer amps just in case was told the radio was bad and amp was bad and that the amps I purchased where not compatible? Already frustrated and not wanting to waste more time I asked them to swap radio and install a amplifier from them and to look at my glow lights that stopped working after the radio installation from them long story short 500$ later for a mediocre amp I found online for 99$ was charged 189$ for 300+ for 2hours in labor no new wiring added still had all the original wiring from amp ground RCA Power Cable etc..nothing changed just a swap called pioneer about the amps they said they are compatible 2 channel to 4 channel 2ohm stable also so I paid almost 2X more for a amp and 300$ labor for a radio and amp swap and glow kit fix with switch 150 @ hour per labor that's beyond ridiculous expensive lesson learned read more

I was going to give a 4 but then remembered how horrible Mike was at customer service which, when its a first impression for someone paying nearly 1k for something uhh ya might want to be less off putting. Is the pricing fair, no, definitely not. A mobile audio luxury company in Glendale who can come to me could've done the same thing for about $150 less with higher quality oem parts with much more courteous and polite customer service with a fair and exact price itemization could've done this(my issue for not researching other options in depth but this was a little closer). Also 4hrs when there were no visible customers after telling me multiple times quite abruptly that you don't make these parts no duh guy but don't bs me bc again other vendors who specialize in luxury cars do in fact have these items on hand. Btw this was a basic install to upgrade the center console infotainment system on Mercedes-Benz C300 from 2016 so I could use Android and Apple play which to be honest I was expecting the interface that could actually show visually the information specifically if I turn a movie on from HBO or Netflix or whatever for our children- this doesn't, it's just an audio interface which thanks guy I'm a Software Manager at a major tech firm I don't need you to flip out at me in my own vehicle bc you don't communicate well. I don't recommend this shop. Did I pay just so I would never have to deal with this shop ever and will more than likely get real professionals in Glendale to redo this yes I will! read more

We went back to Audio Matrix after we purchased a new vehicle. We wanted to put parts from the old sound system into the new car. We are looking at all the options and since AM originally installed the system, it a no brainer for them to be in the running for the job! Moe assisted us and I'm excited to say he was very helpful. He explained our options and since we spent decent money on our first system. Most of the components will be transferable to the new car. I especially like that he didn't guess about the price. I thought this place did a really good job. I had them install a sub in my 2016 mazda 3 and they placed the amp right underneath the drivers seat which saved me some room in my trunk. They were also very knowledgeable as they were able to install two 3.5 inch speaker where the cheap paper tweeters were in my dash. I had a full system installed, the doors, sub, dash, and they put sound deadening material in the trunk to completely eliminate the rattle that was going on. I thought they did a really good job in not trying to sell me anything that I didn't want. Awesome guys read more

went and had an alarm put in 3 vehicles by Matrix, they sold me an alarm by Avental for $425.00 each. All of them NEVER WORKED CORRECTLY. This alarm system wouldn't unlock any of the vehicles to open the doors and cancel the alarm, we were stranded. Took it back and I told them to rip that Avental system out, put it back to stock or re-install a VIPER SYSTEM which I've had in another car for 12 years with no problems. Now Matrix not only didn't do what I asked, he added something else to make the alarm system work correctly for an extra $100.00! Now each alarm system is going to cost $525.00! Make sure you get an accurate bid or they will get you later. Going to Shelby's stereo on Cherry who has been in business for 30+ years and their going to rip out the Avental system out of the other two vehicles and install what I want. The guys there were really nice and helpful. One guy even came to my car to find out what was wrong with my speakers. He looked up what speaker sizes were compatible for my car and suggested a few products. Unfortunately, my good experience ended there. I was offered speakers at such a high price that I couldn't get myself to purchase them on the spot -- and good thing I didn't. A simple search on Amazon revealed to me that they were trying to sell me products at two times the cost. Plus installation fees. The guy was pretty nice, but also too deceiving to receive anything over 1 star. I suggest you be careful when shopping here. They may actually have deals that are worth it. We purchased a Sony 77BT navigation system and DVD player for our minivan from Audio Matrix based on reviews found on Google. We paid $1797.00 for the system and installation around June 2011. The overall install was done very well. Parts were reinstalled properly and the system worked when we left. 4 months later the navigation system will "lock up" and not function. So my wife has no navigation and is now lost. We bring the car back in and they "update" the system. We have now gone back 3 times to have this done. Audio Matrix only answer is to keep coming back each time the system needs to update. They carry many brands of navigation systems. I remember going over the pros and cons of a few models before settling on the Sony. Audio Matrix blames Sony for this defect but still sells this particular unit. Hmmmm that does not make sense. Why would you still sell something you know people are going to be frustrated with after the purchase?? I would would not go back for future work. read more

This place came recommended by a mechanic. And I can see why, wide selection etc. the sales man was very "don't worry, you can always come back if you have any issue". However, they sold me a unit that did not do the one feature I needed it to do (play an iPod/iPhone via USB). Tried to come back to find an alternative unit and all they would do is do the sleazy salesmanship. Won't take back or refund the unit. Trying to say they're "helping me out" by charging me another $200 for a brand new unit. Just go to Best Buy. Honestly. Save yourself the time and money. I received quick, knowledgeable information to get the best amp for my High Audiophile system which already had a Butler Tube Amp, Diamond Hex (German) speakers, Active Clarion Controller Crossovers, McIntosh head unit and JL Audio 10WX-4 8inch pair of bass speakers, a $4K system. Both Mo and Alex knew immediately the correct amplifier to use for the bass to get the best audiophile results. His price was well within the online pricing for the same model and the brand had an excellent reputation. I believe that Audio Matrix knowledge and wide choice of brands was very helpful for me and the depth of knowledge was exactly what I needed to balance the existing system. Looking through the reviews I can't help but notice, that most of the people do not sound like they have tried running their own business. Expecting that someone immediately has time for you without making an appointment, sounds more like a 12 year old stomping their feet. There is always added value in a local shop that can listen to your needs and help match your preferences to your auto type, cabin size and listening needs. If you think you can get that easily from shopping online, you are wrong. You can try reading through many reviews but you will be buying audio, without hearing or having anyone who has heard the quality and who knows your car type and what kind of music you want to hear. There are a lot of brands, each one tries to get new features out every few months. Some have problems. Some needs updates to fix it. You can update it yourself if you read through the manual. Why people blame the retail outlet for not reading their own manual is beyond me. I highly recommend Audio Matrix and I suggest people thinking to buy custom audio for their car should make a list of their preferences and bring your own music collection, preferably CD or higher quality playback to listen to your choices. read more
