I was staying in DTLA for 3 weeks. This brewery was a hop, skip, and a jump away from me. I'd already explored other spots and had serious sticker shock over the prices. It was refreshing to find a place that obviously cared about their product, and didn't feel the need to take advantage of their customers by overcharging. They have quite a few IPAs if that's your thing, but I fell in love with the Daylily seltzer. It's been hotter than Satan's backside, and a cold, tart seltzer was exactly what I needed. Seltzers can be overly sweet. This one has perfect balance. The real triumph of this place is the atmosphere and the people. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome and cared for. The staff's closeness with each other and willingness to share that closeness with the customers creates the immediate vibe that you are part of a community. They have a large event space that would be perfect for a birthday party, a reunion, or a work party. The walls feature the works of local artists, and they have several large screens so you can watch "the game" with other enthusiastic fans. There is a food truck offering tacos, wings, burgers, and various hot dogs. I ordered carne asada tacos and fries. Sometimes when you order from an LA truck, you can find yourself a bit sad because your mouth is bored and you're still hungry. That isn't the case here. The portions were huge, and everything was seasoned well. My only regret was that I don't have a bottomless stomach, because I could have eaten those tacos forever. I hope this place stays open forever, and I have already told my area friends that they're going to have to let me sleep on their couches from time to time so I can visit Audio Graph for their many events. Bonus points that everyone there seemed to be a big fan of public transportation. read more

I recently went to Audio Graph to see the World Cup match between Mexico and Czechia and what a vibe it was! The staff were friendly and attentive, shoutout to Cristina for helping me with my reservation! The Audition and Harmonix were my two favorites that I kept coming back for. Two very solid choices. This will be a bit of a combined review. Audiograph Beer Co. opens up their backspace on Sundays for a collaborative pop-up event with friends, and I'll be reviewing them all together. A friend and I were walking past the bar when we noticed a row of food tents in the back. We decided to stop by, even though we were already headed to a Smashburger spot. When we saw a sign that read "smash burgers made different," we knew we had to give Park Burger LA a try. Park Burger pulled us in, but it was the vibe created by the bar, the vendors, and the people that made us stay. First off, the owner of Park Burger LA is amazing. She was fired up to tell us about her business, and as we explored the menu, she let us in on a secret burger and suggested we give it a try. I ordered The Goudacris, a special variation of the Spicy Mo. Let me tell you, this burger is hands-down my number one favorite Smashburger. I've never had one with Gouda cheese, let alone spicy Gouda. The patty was perfectly seasoned and grilled, the Gouda melted just right, and the bun was topped with a spicy bacon jam. I've never had a flavor profile like this before, or if I have, I can't recall when. I also tried a chicken cheddar biscuit and a strawberry cornbread cupcake from Soul to Table. The biscuit was excellent. The shredded chicken and perfectly cooked biscuit (moist, not dry) complemented each other beautifully. The strawberry cupcake added a sweet finish to the meal. On top of that, the owner of Soul to Table was really nice and bubbly. It made the experience even better because it was not just about eating the food, but also about hearing the stories behind it and the friendships that make events like this possible. The bar itself had a really nice ambience. As a brewery, they make their own beer in-house. The vibe was welcoming, and although I'm not a big drinker, I sampled their house lager. It was amazing, just a refreshing pour to wash down all the incredible food being served in the back. All in all, seeing these businesses partner and collaborate felt inspiring. I have driven past this place so many times and had no idea it existed. Joined a group of friends on election night for a couple of beers. The layout was wide open, with high tables and low seating. Clean and dimly lit, not an extensive menu but the brews I tried I really enjoyed. The Audition is a lighter blonde with a refreshing taste. The Opening Ceremony is an IPA with a touch of citrus. I was able to come visit for my friends birthday and it was a cool little neighborhood bar! It was pretty convenient that the brewery was below my friends apartment. I loved the Sour - Fuzzball that I had there. I didn't get to try any of the taco's but it definitely looked pretty good. Service was pretty quick and easy. I love that they were able to have the Lady who was promoting her juice brand. All of it was so delicious! If I ever get a chance to come back I'd love to try the other beers. They had a lot of tables inside and outside for people to hang out. The water dispenser was a little slow though, not sure if that could be fixed. Only tough part would be the parking in the area since it's pretty hard to find parking but we got lucky. read more

This review is based on being a guest at a special event that was held here and this local brewery in downtown LA. The hubby and I took a Lyft here although traffic and parking can be hit or miss in this area. There was actually some parking in the rear though on an early Saturday evening. Nice vibe, dog-friendly, and kind bartenders. Neither I or the hubby is a beer drinker but, we like the sour beer options! I went for the "Fuzz Box" option. You can taste from either mango which is more tart or the raspberry. Hubby chose mango and I liked the raspberry much better. Audio says the ABV is just 5.5 and to me it tastes almost like raspberry soda but, almost like having a glass of wine. I liked it so much that I got 2 of them. Although, Audio is a small place, there are several tables and chairs and seating at the bar. There are a couple of TV to watch a game. Lots of art work on the walls and a little Lego replica of Audio itself. Our party had maybe 20 or so people and Audio gave our hosts the liberty to decorate the party area. It very, very nice. I hear this is not a far walk from Cryto arena/LA Live. Even if you're not a beer person like me, I'd recommend the sours. 4++ DTLA music/audio themed craft brewery located a short walk from Crypto/ Staples. Looks to have a good variety of styles on tap at a given time and the space has wide open seating in a large room with fun art and great decor. I'm not sure if they have food or snacks for sale (if they don't, I think the usual is that you are able to bring in your own food - just be sure to clean up after yourself. Campground rules! - strive to leave the place better than you found it). I rushed to get here to meet up with a buddy right before a Kings game so I wasn't able to get a great grasp on the offerings/ operations here. I was just able to try their west coast IPA. Classic flavor profile with the piney flavor you'd expect. Didn't realize until after I left, but they had a great sounding barrel aged barleywine on tap that I wanna try...hopefully it's still there next time. The beertender was very helpful in letting us know how to get to the arena quicker. Overall, just a great drinking spot to meet up with friends and that's conveniently located to some iconic locations in DTLA. I'm a fan. Parking could be tricky, especially depending on what is going on a particular date and what time of day. I found meter parking (after hours so free) a couple blocks away. Checked out this local brewery in DTLA with a music theme and it rocked our beer glasses. Hi Def is an unassuming place from the outside. It has a location not close to a lot else going on it seems. A good thing if just wanting to go and enjoy some beers. The list has lighter ones as well as a few ones that are heavy. A small place but there's still a good amount of beers to choose from. It's about $7 a pint. These are the IPAs and lagers and stuff. Pay a few bucks more to get the Bass Clef. This is a double barrel rye and barrel aged barleywine, a strong one. Good flavors. It has notes of charred oak, dark cherry, fresh tobacco, and tawny port. This is $10 and it's not even a pint, but you will know why after you begin sipping. It's 15% ABV. Strong ass stuff. Can't drink more than a little bit at a time, so enjoy it. The rest of the beers are easier to be sure. Great place for drinking beers and watching games. It's like the kind of place for nerdy sports fans it seems. There's also fun events like trivia. read more

I came for a speed dating event that was being hosted at this venue . I looked over the menu and they didn't have a huge selection of beers on tap . I didn't see any ciders and they only had one seltzer. The Beertender let me sample a few of the different beers . Overall she was very friendly and nice . I don't often go to DTLA but every time I've been there HiDef wasn't yet open. I happened to be there on a Saturday afternoon and made sure that I made it over there to finally try it out. Early afternoon on a Saturday and it was quiet. Plenty of table space available and the parking lot turned outdoor patio was wide open as well. I sat and had three beers, which were tasty to okay. The beers were flavorful but generally lacked body. Service though was fine, with the bartender there to cheerfully provide any samples before a full pour. If you happen to be nearby it's a nice place to try out a couple fresh made beers. read more

So I've definitely been slacking off on yelp reviews - you can tell, as I've actually been here twice, a few months apart (the second time being last weekend - still just as great). I was definitely a little surprised to see a crat brewery where the beer list wasn't totally different after a few months - though it sounds like I was just early by a few weeks to see some changes. For good and bad, they don't seem to rotate beers as often - so the first time I was there, I got a flight, which I was glad they offer ($15 for 4 tasters, $4-5 tasters individually), then last weekend I popped in and checked what I said about them all on Untappd (the benefit of offloading your memory to various apps. Including this one!) The atmosphere is definitely "chill brewery", even at night, which I appreciate (feels a lot less pretentious than a lot of other breweries in LA, with beer at least as good). They've got a good amount of seating with a good amount of space, including some bar seating, and they've never felt overly busy when I was there (late evening on the weekend, both times). They also, more notably, had Smash Bros set up on a big tv with four controllers when I was there last time (was likely there the first time and I didn't notice, too), which is a pretty great idea. Beers I tried included - two great boozy aged dark beers (the Bass Clef is basically a boozy cocktail in beer form, exactly my kind of dark beer, so I will be sad if I go back later and it's gone); a solid peach sour; a solid raspberry sour; a couple solid hazies; and one *very* cool fermented oyster-shell michelada on draft they call the "ostralada", which was really a perfectly spicy, perfectly savory michelada. (Only complaint: I did bring back a four pack of that - it is definitely best when fresh. That's not their fault though.) I will be curious what does or doesn't change next time I'm there - I have a hunch the ostralada isn't going anywhere, since everyone talks about it , though I could be wrong. Pretty conveniently located from the blue line, too, which is definitely a plus if you happen to be getting to DTLA that way, which we usually are. (Especially if I'm going there to, among other things, drink beer!) read more

Stop The Presses! I have had the finest brew in the last decade and it comes from Lars Lesterud of HiDef Brewing. He call it Bass Clef and it is simply the most tasty creation I've tried since Firestone Walker came out with their Double Double DBA in 2012. After taking other delicious concoctions at this excellent brewery, I went for a taste of the Bass Clef. When I heard Lars was there, I had to meet this amazing artisan. He was so cordial and was very interested in my thoughts, a full discussion ensued. Before I left, I purchased a bottle of Bass Clef and asked him to sign it. Honored by this gesture, he happily agreed to. I am headed back to try more of his sensational creations but the bottle which Lars says will stay good for years to come as long as it's on its side and in a fridge will stay safe and stored for the future. It's a beautiful place to spend some quality time with friends. If you love craft brews, don't waste a minute and head over to HiDef. read more

Found this little brewery a few blocks from the LA Convention Center while in town for a conference. Walked over because it was literally the only brewery remotely close. It was worth it. Small seating area. No food served. But good beer and WiFi, which is all I needed. I had a flight plus a few extra samples the brewer Lars slipped me while we were chatting. Cool guy. Made a legit BBA Barleywine that was worthy of the award it recently won. Go check this place out. It's a refreshing change from all the chains at LA Live. read more

DTLA isn't my first choice for locations to try mew restaurants or bars but when my wife learned about HiDef Brewing there was no way of talking her out of it lol. That proved to be the right choice because it's actually a really dope spot with a chill and fun atmosphere. They have a projector and tv that will air the local sports games and setup for a DJ. There are also board games and plenty of seating options to just grab a brew, relax, and talk with friends. The beer selection had several varietals of IPAs. I recommend The LIT for its hoppy taste and 7% ABV. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and how the beers are made. Came here to celebrate a cousin's surprise birthday party and we were not let down. The space is not huge but ample enough. It's clean, and the beertenders were kind and attentive. I cannot speak for any beer except for the like 14-15?% abv barley wine. Holy, this thing was delicious (and dangerous too). I think by the end of the night my girlfriend each had three of these. I can't wait for them to bottle this up so that I can bring some home! Seems like a semi new brewery but I wish them well as they truly have a lot of potential in this location. Newer brewery about a year old. My first time here was last night on a Friday night. No one asked for my vax card nor ID, just walked right in. The owners are friendly. I was digging the two prominent art pieces - a neon cat at the entrance in the corner above the door and a green wall piece also at the entry. There was a hotdog/ taco truck. I ordered an asada burrito for $8 and was disappointed with it. Please note my review/ star rating is not about the food option. I tried the first 3 beers on their menu... I think pale ale , pilsner, etc. I honestly didn't care for any of them and I can't remember which one I ended up ordering. One side of the space is filled with pallets and other things. They can really make it more visually appealing by maximizing the space and adding more tables or seating and putting some art here as well. They have events during the week (trivia and DJ). A brewery with a funky ambience in the heart of downtown. As I understand it, it was opened in the heart of the pandemic, and I admire the owner for sticking it out through the difficult times. We came for a free comedy night with some friends. DTLA is still developing it's nightlife scene, so around the brewery was a bit desolate when we arrived in the 8 o'clock hour on a Friday night. Been going here for nearly 3 years! Great neighborhood brewery! Love the owner Cristina, the different bartenders, and all the fun events put on for the South Park area. As I've continued to come to the brewery, the different bartenders would remember me, remember my usual orders, and even remember details of my life (work milestones, etc.). The venue itself is vibey and fun, and creates a nice ambience and feel. Overall, It's been a great addition to South Park and certainly helped the area feel like home when I moved nearby.
