I took my 2012 Buick Lacrosse in to have an amp and subs installed. The staff was knowledgeable and helped me choose subs that would still allow me to have trunk space while giving me the bass I desired. The install was very clean, and yes, all my electronics still work perfect. I.e. remote start, back up camera etc. They adjusted the amp perfectly so I can switch between hip hop and hard rock with no adjustment needed. I wish I could give zero stars... My husband bought me a remote start install as a Christmas present for my VW Touareg. The shop promised that they could do it, even after we voiced our concerns that Touaregs are notorious for locking down when aftermarket products are installed. We took the car down to the shop multiple times and left it there for days at a time. We live in Tahoe, its a 1 hour drive each time, requiring my husband to follow me to Audio Express to give me a ride home and vice versa. After several attempts Audio Express finally told us that they can't install it and refunded us the money. When I went to pick up my Touareg it wouldn't start. I had to go back into Audio Express and ask for a tech to come out and help me. The radio had been removed and not properly put back in place. The radio is the computer brain of the Touareg and causes the car to shut down if removed. Fast forward a year, I am now facing over $2,000 in repairs as a result of Audio Express breaking the back of my radio aka car computer. I have to replace the broken parts, get a new radio, and replace several sensors and the alarm system as a result plus I have had to deal with the car locking down on a daily basis for the past 6 months. When I called Audio Express about this issue they claimed that they never touched the radio and "couldn't" find the service records in their computer. Guess they never heard of a retention policy... Do yourself a favor, don't let their tech's touch your car!!!! read more

Kevin up front was super awesome. But the guys who worked on my car screwed up my dashboard on my new challenger... when I brought up the issue, the installer was acting like he wasn't anywhere near the vent in my dash. He clearly did as it ruined my dash. When I brought it to the manager he was trying to brush it aside and pretty much ignore me as he seemed to be too busy to bother with the cosmetic damage to my new car. Kevin tried to go out there and fix it himself, but he was unsuccessful at doing so.. if the customer service of Kevin was as good as the quality of installs I'd highly recommend, but sadly it's not. I had music installed before, paid half the cost for a way better system. This time I feel I over paid for a sub par system that's not half as loud as my previous system I paid half the cost for. Sadly I won't repeat nor do I recommend because I spent 1000$ more fir a lesser system that I had high hopes for, on top of the installers ruined my dash which cost me 350$ to fix... I had a touch screen system with backup camera installed in my truck, keyless entry, remote start $2000 all total after install. Bluetooth mic sucks - pretty much useless with the bad placement If you remote start the truck and get in, put key in and drive off the new headunit wont function until you turn the ignition off and back on manually. Steering wheel controls do not work Those are some pretty significant oversights. Overall they are also not friendly nor easy to deal with. read more

Horrible customer service! The manager Chris Lassann and salesman Steve Benna are not fit to sweep the floors of this store. They sold me on a stereo they said had a Bluetooth feature and I even paid extra to have the mic installed. When I picked up my car and asked the salesman how the Bluetooth worked he said this deck does not have that feature? He then tried to sell me a more expensive deck saying he could meet me in the middle on the extra cost?? These guy's are crooks!!! The manager blamed me saying I did not ask for this feature? Poor customer service. I asked the guy to let me and my husband talk about the price quote he gave us (i mean $400 is no joke). He yells to us " there's no point in price shopping we have the best price". I didn't think that was necessary since we just stepped away from the counter and went to a corner of the store. I yelled back and said why can't we discuss this without you. Since my husband really wanted to get this installed, we decided to go ahead with the purchase and asked the guy to break down the price for me again. He let out a huge sigh, rudely turned his computer screen towards me and spoke to me patronizingly -- like I was stupid that I couldn't understand the price he quoted. Once installed, I noticed that something wasn't working properly with my locks. Since the experience was not great, I'm DREADING having to make that phone call and ask them to revisit what they've done to my car. We just bought our 2011 Honda CR-V used and previous owner had broken a headphone jack off in the Aux. We took it to Audio express to get it fixed we told them we wanted the factory radio to look the same and just wanted the Aux replace which is a separate part from the radio. They added some switch to our dash which we did not want and drilled a hole in the bottom of our dash and just wired a new Aux. it looks terrible it's going to really hurt resale value and I could have easily done it myself in my garage. Not only that but we made an appointment to get it done and 5 hours later we were still not done nor had we gotten any word to what was going on. If we would have know this was what they were going to do we would have never allowed them to touch our car but they acted like they could do what we asked. Also now when we turn the car off the radio stays on unless we also push the power button on the radio. Do not use this company. My husband took his car there to have them reattach the DVD player to the ceiling because some of the bolts had come out and it was difficult to reach without all the right tools. After they made him sign a waiver that they weren't responsible for the operability of the system, they took several hours to "fix" it. Then, they called, and, surprise, surprise, the system didn't work anymore! They offered a new system for $400, and when he refused, they charged him $200 for breaking (oh, sorry, I guess I mean re-attaching) the formerly perfectly working system. Very rude, they treat you like you have money or don't have money! Chris, the manager is very rude and doesn't need to be the manager because of his poor customer service skills. He lied to me about a product and refused to refund me after he said it would tAke two weeks for the product. I had to call the supervisor after he refused to give me their phone number. The stores website sites the refund policy but Chris will lie and try to sell you things you don't need without any concern on making the customer happy! They said it was going to be more money for speaker wire, $27.00!! Then went to check out what they did and the sub woofers didn't work. Got DVDs installed in our brand new Odyssey and as soon as we brought it home we started having problems. We paid extra to have surround sound for the car and there's a very loud static sound whenever we tried using it they couldn't do anything to stop it so I just had them remove it without getting refund. Yikes. This place is as bad as everyone says. I went in because my trucks existing Aftermarket alarm system was going out. The first salesman instantly grabbed me and tried to sell me on an auto start/stop system. I stated I only wanted an alarm/keyless access system. he upsold and upsold until I eventually settled on a Viper. I had to step outside for a second due to an important business call. he went to help someone else. Returning Inside, I asked another one of the reps how many controllers the Viper system I selected had and he said "Two, one is just being used by our techs for diagnostics" .... OK. The first guy came back and started pricing it all out. At witch time he said " You know, that system only comes with 1 remote, for $700 billion dollars ( an exaggeration) more, you can get this system with two" No thanks ill live with one I told him. "Oh you need this, this and this" making a $200 system into + $400. I asked about what they would do with the faulty existing alarm in my truck to which they replied " nothing " UUUUUMMM yeah.. They wanted another $100 just to "disable" the old alarm! Thank god I forgot my wallet at home. I ran out. I took my truck to Mo Music and low and behold, a new system, REMOVAL of the OLD FAULTY alarm system and install for $200 WITH AWESOME SERVICE!!! I got an amp and a pair of very expensive subs from here right after Christmas and from day 2 I've had nothing but issues. To this day my subs still are not working and cut out. I have been back here 5 times and none of until sales associates nor the manager have been of help. Once they get your money they no longer help you. I've had 3 appointments and on that same day they will cut out again. So I make another appointment which was never an actual appointment so I get down there just for them to tell me they have to make another appointment for two weeks later. If you want something installed correctly. Just find another place to do it cause they certainly won't help or install it right here. Been there twice for custom installation work and both times ended up feeling I should have done it myself. Had a new deck installed last week. Dropped off at 930 am wasnt ready until 4 pm. 6 and a half hours. Thought maybe it was a busy day and the salesman were reasonable so I came back today, with an appointment, at 10 am for 2 new pairs of speakers. I just called them at 4pm, over 6 hours later, and the guy on the phone said if its ready before 7 well call you but expect it around then. 10 am-7pm. 9 hours. 9 HOURS. last time I had speakers installed at best buy the kid did the stereo and 2 pairs of speakers in 2 hours. I just dont understand how they could take this long on a consistent basis. Be aware of the sign that says an installation takes as long as it takes to do a good job. DON'T BELIEVE IT. It's not that it takes as long to do a good job it's how many repairs come in while they are doing your install. They stop working on your installation to do repair work. Any they get a lot of repair work. Five during the 3 hours I was waiting. I already had an aftermarket stereo so the only wiring required was for the blue tooth. You'd think it would be an easy install take an hour at most. I was the first one in got there at 9 a.m. and didn't get out until 12 a.m. Ridiculous. I recently had a series of automobile breaks in my neighborhood so I decided to get an alarm and remote start. I went to Audio Express cause they installed a stereo in one of my old cars and it had no problems. I went in on a Sunday and purchased my alarm and remote start and I was set up for install in two weeks. The next day when I got out to car to leave another car had been taken I was extremely nervous. I called and spoke to one of the employees and asked to be put on cancelation notice and explained why. He said no problem. Not even an hour later he left a msg on my VM and told me to bring car in and they'd get it done. I dropped car off at 1pm and they called by 5pm to say it was ready. It was nice they showed me how to use it and I was happy. I had a few problems w the remote start and had to bring back to them twice but now its working great and I can sleep better. Yesterday I took my car in for a Remote Starter and 3 weeks ago I purchased the Vipor Remote starter and made the appointment for 9am on Nov 11th and at that point I was the first customer scheduled, and after Marcus tried to sell an extra $250 dollars of upgrades as we declined. I arrived promptly at 9 am and the second person in the store and when I checked in they told me that they don't have any paperwork on my appointment, I proceeded to give them my copy then all of a sudden they found it. They had my car all day to install a remote starter only! At 430 pm they called me and said that they ran into a snag and they needed TECH SUPPORT and they were back east and closed right now and they will not be open until TUESDAY. We told them that wouldn't work as I needed it for work. We then told them that I needed my car and I wanted a whole REFUND, even though their paperwork says NO REFUNDS, (gee I wonder why) and they agreed. But in the next 5 minutes they called back and said everything is ready to go. REALLY?? How can you have somebody's car for 7+ hours and run into a snag but hey it's ready now????? You are a LIAR, CHEAP BUSINESS REPRESENTATIVE, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND CON ARTIST. Now I get to Audio Express and my car is still parked in the exact spot I left it in, my seat was never moved back and it should have been, plus my stereo was still loud. As I went to retrieve my keys and to receive my REFUND, Marcus tried to tell me that the card I used wasn't the one I made the charge on. They are so ignorant I had to show the how to read their own receipt and prove that I indeed had the correct card.These lying assholes just are not smart people and to top it all off after all said and done they still tried to give $200 upgrades if I will bring my car back. Second guy recommended a different unit than the one I was interested in purchasing (with a really good reason) but was less than knowledgeable about the product he recommended. I have been to Audio Express twice ( 9+ hours of waiting for a 3 hour install) and left both times with the check engine light on. The last time I was told to leave the truck overnight. No words can express how awful this business is! Total rip off and Marcus is the worst condescending person with absolutely the worst customer service! I walked in to have a car alarm installed on my new vehicle. It started off well with meeting the on the phone quote but things went up from there. This was all fine until they ran my debit card for what was supposed to be 35% of the work at 164.00 but they ran the full 419.50 on a Sunday which they said was "an honest mistake" but it left me with 29.00 in my account which was a fricken nightmare for me. I went back and they offered to refund me 273.00 but it could take up to 3 business days.........of which it did and they refused to refund me the total amount after I told them I would not be doing business with them. The assistant manager Marcus treated me like crap and was such a pompous jerk! I went to my bank the next day to tell them what had happened and the bank manager asked me to go there one more time to request a full refund. Marcus was again condescending and a total ass. He told me he was not authorized to process the full refund and to "try" to come back the next day to talk to the manager. I told him I could not come back again and advised him that my bank would be handling the full refund now and I would be reporting then to the Better Business Bureau as well as completing the company's survey. While I was calm and trying to say what I needed to as the bank had instructed me he became escalated and told me that this was my fault for refusing to come back and that he had done everything he could to help me but I was not letting them help! BS!!!!! This place is a total rip off and their customer service sucks! And I just love it that being an established business person myself that they respond to their negative posting here to redeem themselves! Do not be fooled by them! Called and set up window tinting and stereo install. Told us to drop the car off at noon and it would be done by 3. We went across the street and hung out for a couple of hours. Went back to go pick up the car and they hadn't even brought it back yet to do anything. We asked what the deal was and why we didn't even receive a phone call about it not being taken back yet and all they could say was "sorry, we had a lot of cars before yours." They asked if we wanted to come back, to which we replied that we would but only if they offered us even a minimal discount because of the trouble. They said straight out "no." So we left. We weren't looking for a price reduction for services. We just expected it to be done when they said it would be or least a phone call that they were running behind. read more

This place used to be my favorite audio shop in town. I've had close to a thousand dollars of work done on my truck and referred people here. That won't be happening any more. They changed personnel and no longer have the customer service they were known for. I had a backup camera and Sirius satellite radio installed. Last year both needed adjusting and it was done in a timely and cost effective manner. I went in today and they wouldn't help, instead referring me to contact the manufacturer and trying to sell me things I didn't need. They wanted to charge me $80 just to look at my radio. Sirius is now sending me a replacement and all I had to pay was the $8.34 in shipping. I highly recommend looking around before falling into their trap. Reno has many other audio shops and I will now be taking my service elsewhere. I would give them no stars, but it won't let me post without at least 1. read more

If you have anything fancier than a Subaru I would not have anything installed in your car here. We took Our Mercedes to have remote start put on. The sales associate assured us of how capable they were. He seemed very very nice at the time. It never worked how it was supposed to. We had to use 2 clickers 1 to unlock and lock the doors and the new one for remote start which we should have been able to just use the new one for everything. One week later our battery died, we took our car to our shop and it ends up the remote start when not in use was somehow draining the battery. The car was in the shop for 3 weeks as our mechanic tried to figure out what they did. We finally just had to take the car back to Audio Express where they were promptly jerks instead of the nice people that had given us so many assurances. They had to undo their work. We did end up getting our money back for the product after a few discussions. If you don't think you can do the work don't promise people you can and then act surprised when they need to bring the product back. read more

A guy named Chris came out of nowhere and began to push us into things and started severely scalding Steve right in front of us. Apparently $1 same day installation means $75 dollars and by midnight with no care of whether or not the customer is a normal human being with a family. When asked, 10 hours later, 3 of which sitting in the waiting room, if anything could be done, free 1 year warranty, a few dollars knocked off the bill, heck, even a time before midnight that they thought they could be done, the response was, "Sorry, we can't do that. I came in to get a system in my new car yesterday i talked to the saleman cris he constantly tried to sell me things i didnt want like hushmat. I ended up buying speakers stereo and headrest tvs. I was there all morning and i had to leave by 330 the car was done by then but i had to being it back so they can finish putting my speakers in when the installer said he could do it by the time i had to leave. I came back and they were done in 30 minutes. When cris showed me everything in my car he didnt seem very knowledgeable for being a salesman and he was basically playing with everything trying to show me how it works. Basically I have been trying to deal with the highest up manager there Chris Lassands, he was rude and made it very obvious that he has no clue what he's doing or what he's talking about. I have talked to other people who have come in to get services done here and everyone I know that has said the same thing about this guy. The second time coming in, what I assumed to be an installer came up to him while I was looking around in the show room ( I have a nostalgia for sound equipment). Seemed like they gave him (installer?) the wrong stuff or something , and he was super rude to that employee as well. Seems like the work itself is halfway decent usually, a little expensive if you ask me, but the worst part is that manager dude. I'm double his size and if I didn't have morality I'd have knocked this guy out. Wish they would replace this guy or something. Hoping my friends will write a review as well so we can get that guy out of there. Years back I had work done on my Bronco when there was a different management and it was excellent work and services and deals. But seriously this mediocre jerk has to go. Word travels fast in reno and it won't take people long to start figuring out not to bring business here because of this Chris guy. This place is horrible. I took my car there to have a remote start installed, and two days later the car died. We called the store and they tried to say it was because my engine was "running rich" -- which is stupid, since that has nothing to do with the car's electrical system. They said we should bring the car in, but we live 45 minutes away and I don't know how they expected me to get the car back there when it was dead. (They didn't seem to grasp the problem with that suggestion, which tells you something.) My roadside assistance towed the car to the nearest mechanic, who said it was the worst install job he'd ever seen. There were wires that weren't even hooked up to anything. Apparently the shoddy install had blown all the fuses in the car's computer. So apparently with a $1 install, you get about one dollar's worth of work. Meanwhile, it took 2.5 hours for the mechanic to clean up the mess they had made so I could drive the car. My husband told the Audio Express manager that he was bringing the car in and wanted them to take out the remote start and refund our money. Instead they kept him waiting half the day, and then not only refused to give us a refund, but refused to take the remote start out of the car. So basically they did absolutely nothing. Their shoddy workmanship left me stranded with my two-year-old, I had to deal with the hassle of getting the car towed and paying a mechanic to fix it--and after all the trouble they caused, they won't do anything about it. I used to work in customer service, and I have never heard of anything this ridiculous. If you screw up, you make it right--that's all there is to it. Wish I'd read the other reviews on here before we went there. My advice would be not to let these guys anywhere near your car--they don't know what they're doing, and they have the worst customer service I've ever seen. read more

Avoid this place at all costs!! They installed two headrest DVD players in my wife's car and managed to cut the heating element wire for the heated seats on both seats when they phished the DVD wire through the foam in the seats. This not only rendered the heated seats useless but also caused a potential fire hazard!! We took the car back to them after realizing that the heated seats weren't working and after keeping the car for another day they said everything was fine! A few months later we took the car to the dealership and found out what they had done. Both seats needed to be replaced costing over $2,100 and they said a fire could have started at any time from the exposed heating element wires! I kept both damaged seats and the next day took them back to Audio Express where I was rudely told by Chris their manager that they would not reimburse a penny of the $2,100 because I didn't give them a chance to fix it and they didn't approve the expense...WHAT?? I did give them a chance to fix it and they did nothing!! Instead of apologizing or being concerned about a potential fire he was arrogant and rude and accused the dealership of concocting the story to get out of warranty work!! So thanks to Audio Express we're out $2,100 and could have been burned in a fire...UNBELIEVABLE!! I'm strongly considering getting an attorney and suing them. read more

WORSE PLACE EVER, very unprofessional, $1.00 installation advertised, end up paying over $1500.00 for a really bad system, that on top of AC damaged, two days of waiting time,,,, customer service?? I don't think they know what that means, sales manager didn't even want to take the time to find a solution for a really unprofessional installation, he rather called the salesman from his day off to just come and say "it's a wire missing from stereo to the tv , we can install it for $60.00" wasn't that wire supposed to be installed originally?? After all of that, AC still didn't work, so they took their sweet time to take vehicule back to their shop, finally they kind of finish with the installation,,,,(I'm still trying to configure gps),,,,, people PLEASE READ FEEDBACK, unfortunately I didn't,, ( I'm a Sales Mgr for a beer distributor and I know things can go wrong sometimes, if that's the case, I go out of my way to keep a customer happy, bottom line, customers keep us in business, without customers our company won't exist. ) read more
