Front guy was kinda stuck up and just a dry guy overall. It was right about $100 to get my amp tuned, the guy who tuned and came back to me was pretty cool though, they changed my neutral wire location, bolted the amp in, and cleaned up the wires (I just installed it and then immediately drove over) for no additional charge on top of tuning it. Took maybe 40 minutes and they got me in immediately without an appointment or scheduling. Cool group of guys that (in my experience) went above and beyond. It was a worthy choice to get tuned by these guys but maybe next time the front guy can put a smile on his face and a personality. When I go to pick up the vehicle the cashier says everything is working properly . I get home and the camera isn't working I call the store and they say all the work they've done is good to go and if anything is wrong it's on me. I was a little eerie of returning to do business with these guys since Marcus was no longer with them. Since I had never had a bad experience with Marcus, I figured, why not? Chris was knowledgeable about the products, and I purchased exactly what I needed. The reason for the four stars is that I ended up having to come back a second time to finish getting my speakers installed because I had got my windows tinted the day before I went in. Would give no stars but ... We had 3 stereos and speakers installed in 3 vehicles a 1,5 years ago and we were happy. Speakers on truck failed after 1.5 years,. so I called ( actually 2 times ) inquiring about replacing them . The new management (Jason) is rude, talks over you, acted like it was my fault for buying basic speakers ( which they recommended) and/ or the volume or type of music I listen too. I am 61 listen to talk radio or jimmy buffet! He talked to me as if I am just a stupid old women. Plus he told me $70 per set, front and rear, to install and could do in 15 mins. Pretty steep price and I don't think he can do it that fast, at least quality wise. Also I originally went in a month ago to have them listen to them and see if the speakers were the problem or the stereo. They said ok and a tech started to come with me. I asked him to wear a mask as I had an elderly woman with me, he said he didn't have one with attitude! The other guy, not Jason, said sure he had a mask, and understood since he has grandparents. Stopped in to audio express today and spoke with Damien. He was so helpful and so knowledgeable came out to my moms car to check out the audio system in it. Unfortunately somebody stole the face plate off the stereo and we were unable to match what faceplate we needed. Damien was really helpful and made a suggestion for us to go back and see if we have any photos of the inside of the car so that we can decide what brand we need to get the face plate. And it seems that we do have a photo so thank you Damien will be back to purchase the face plate. read more

I bought a new 2022 GMC 3500 truck. Although I had ordered it with the Bose system, it only came with the "Premium Stereo" due to the chip shortage. Being disappointed with the sound, I met with Kai at Audio Express. I would have liked to put an amp and speakers in the truck, but the in dash system in GMC products controls door chimes and bluetooth phone ringers. An amp makes these unbelievably loud and there is no work-around. I opted for a complete speaker install. They put JL speakers in and I am pleased with the results. read more

Car speakers went out so I decided in a rush to go here. After talking to the sales agent for a while I told him what I wanted and asked if there was any deals, he said he would hook me up. After looking everything up today I realized how much I was mislead, they were running specials I was never told about. They say lowest pricing yet that is a total lie as well. Today i went to Audio Express thinking i needed a new amp to improve the quality of my truck's system. I was greeted by Damian, I saw him and instantly thought he looked exactly like my cousin, they could do a switch and no one in the family would notice. Although he was the complete opposite of my cousin, he was nice, friendly and pleasant to be around. He told me i should get Infinity brand speakers instead of an amp. I was doubtful because i had just gotten new speakers recently but ended up trusting him with the front two speakers. They put in those speakers and my system is 100% better. I'm going back next weekend for the rears. I don't think I would've gotten the speakers if Damian wasn't as friendly and knowledgeable as he is. read more

I purchased a head unit and supporting components specifically for my vehicle after doing some research. I took my 2010 Mazda 3 down to these folks to get a quote for installation, and they offered to do it right then and there. What's more, they had it done in about and hour and a half and did a beautiful job installing it. It's not my first time with them, they did my window tint and reverse camera a while back as well. The worst. The delays they put me through in installing my car stereo cost me multiple days of my own time, and they still didn't even do it right. Their poor quality install ruined the equipment that I bought from them, twice! And both times, they refused to cover it under warranty. These Guys were true to the deal, $1 installation is all they charged. The total cost was a little more than a small shop down the street, but they got the work because they had time the same day. Sadly a bunch of the color of my dash cracked off and the "standard kit" doesn't look quite as nice as the demo in the store or the factory deck they took out. The price was good, and the installer tried pretty hard to make the install kit look good. It installed flat while the dash is curved. The factory deck angled towards the driver so the kit looked a little funny. I really like my new system, the sound rocks and having a real hands free system that people can understand me is great. I would have given 4 stars if they could have done it so it looked a little more built in and didn't have to chip so much color off my dash. Maybe I needed to buy a full double din unit. read more

" I notice that there is a precistantt and hiss that permeates the airwave through my speakers..." Now I know why..... Other Shop: Originally I went to another local audio place. I felt that the other audo dealer was micky mouse, overpriced and somewhat unprofessional. I didnt want them working on my new BMW. Audio Express: I contacted Audio Express told them what I was looking for and ask them for a quote I informed the young man that I wanted a Hard Quote as the other aduio place keep chanhimg the pricing. Audio Express said they understood and then they provided me with the quote for the installation and literally guaranteed the price would not change. I was satisfied with the arrangement so I delivered the car for service and was on my way. A short time later I reciebed a call from Audio Express where they proceeded to tell me that they needed to add additional components to my installation and that the cost of the service would be increasing. I was angried at this flagrant disregard for our hard quoted arrangement... I informed Audio Express that this was completely unacceptable at it blatantly violated our agreed Arrangement.. I had a set budget for the installation and they were now telling me it would be additional charges. He informed me that they determined that my vehicle needed two NOT one, certian type of FM shielding for the antenn. This was to eliminate any possible hist. Obviously this would increase the original price of the original quote by adding additional Parts as well as labor charges. I stated that this was absolutly unacceptable and outside violated the agreed parameters of our original arrangement and that I would not pay the difference. They apologized and proceeded with the installation Later I pick the vehicle up and paid for the service.. Now realize as I'm sitting here again in my car listening to this low quity audio saturated with a merserably distracting hist... They had knowingly finished the installation leaving oit the rwquierd compinenets leaving my instalation short of what was required in order to create a quality audio experience. I failed to mention that these jokers left the newly "installed" units power supply was left dangling down between my knees from under the cars steering wheel after they had hot wiring the dang thing to my dashboard! A total low class showering for my and my brand new BMW... Yes, all of this complements of Audio Express and thier crack team of inexperience and unqualified bunglers... A company more concerned with "expressing" the hard errnwd money from my wallet over the well deserved quality of my automotive audio needs. Audio Express. I should have gone to Yelp in advance. Got a new stereo speakers and a back up camera. They installed the stereo. The stearing wheel controls dont work and are supposed to. And the panel on the back of our tahoe is not on all the way and a clip is missing... paying the amount of money I did I expect these things to be done right. I have photos. This yesterday about 6. I origionally went to audio express in reno for a remote start. I made an appointment and everything, but 5 hours later, they came and told me my car could not get a remote start without a "master key". I looked into this, it would be an additional $250 for said key. They ended up putting in a deck instead so I didnt waste my entire day for nothing, but took another 2 hours. 7 Hours total...I was pretty upset. The manager was polite, but still... A couple weeks later, my boyfriend suggested I stop by Unique Sounds to see what they could do for me. Unique Sounds had it installed in about two to two and a half hours, a few months later and its still working fantastic. My roommate also went to Audio Express for her remote start, waited almost as long as I did and her remote start is all sorts of screwed up. She now went to Unique Sounds to get hers redone, came out perfect and she is much happier. Audio Express tried to tell her that starting her car with the remote start, then going to her car and opening her door and the car would shut off was NORMAL??? Riiiight... I already knew this was the kind of place that feels like you're buying something out of the trunk of some dude's car. The system in my vehicle was already done by this place, so I wanted them to update it. First thing out of the manager's mouth - "we need to replace everything". Red flag already. When I got the vehicle back, it still had cut connector ends all over the place, box contents all over, and the wiring under the hood looked incredibly amateur. Now, my vehicle is sitting dead with an electrical problem - guess where the problem is! Yep! I paid $1,000 bucks for a crappy install and now have a big repair bill to fix the electrical. This is an unprovoked review. I almost did not go here because of the reviews that have been left by others. This place has been in business for a very long time. They did my first car stereo when I was in high school about 16 years ago and that is why after checking out many places in town I decided to check them out too. As a small business owner myself, I know people will often jump to yelp and google to leave a review when something bad happens but seldom does the happy customer take the time to go and post when good happens. Many businesses rely on reviews to get new customers, so the importance of happy customers leaving good reviews is very important. After reading through all the reviews and seeing what seemed to be unrealistic critics, I drove down to the store about 2 weeks ago. Marcus and Chris helped me find the right backup camera and stereo that would do what I wanted and also fit my budget. They were extremely nice and helpful. I dropped my wife's car off today for the install. They treated me great and the install was done very professional. When I came to pick up my car they showed me how to work everything and make sure my wife's phone functioned correctly. I came in to get an estimate for a stereo in my vehicle. I looked at all the different stereos and picked one that I liked. It was equipped with Apple CarPlay. It had a purchase price and an installed price. There was less than $100 difference between the two prices. The representative who did my quote stated that if I wanted to use my jack for Apple car play and keep my steering wheel controls it would be more expensive. He stated it was because I would need a new part to keep the steering wheel controls. The final cost was nearly triple what the install price that was listed on the price tag. I took my quote price and walked out of the store knowing that I would not be getting my stereo installed for that price because it was a complete ripoff. read more

I had a Kenwood touchscreen unit installed in my Audi by an Audio Express in Las Vegas about a year ago, and it randomly stopped working the other day. Today I brought it in to this location in Reno, and they took everything apart, found the problem, fixed everything, cleanly reinstalled it, and sent me on my way with no charge in only about an hour. While I was waiting for my car, a sales associate was teaching me about different speaker systems that would work well for my car down the road. I bought an automatic start for my girlfriends brand new Subaru, and after they installed it, audio express blew a fuse that lit up the dashboard. Yet somehow it's SUBARU'S fault that the fuse blew... on a car that had less than 1500 original miles. They did try very hard to fix the problem right away, but it turned out that it was a special part that had to be ordered through Subaru. We waited an extra 4 hours in the store, and I understand that a mistake was made, but instead of just telling me that a fuse blew in the car, they gave me the run around for 4 hours!! Since we live about 45 minutes away, they told us to come back, and gave us a time table of 2 to 3 weeks for the part to be shipped, but called us a month and a half later letting us know the part had finally come in. Trip number two was an even bigger disaster because they ordered the wrong part!! They realized this AFTER we had waited a 1/2 day in their store. At this point my girlfriend and I were fed up, and just wanted the automatic start UNinstalled and our money back. This turned out to be a bigger hassle than we thought. Apparently Subaru won't cover anything under warranty with an after market automatic starter in it. Audio Express admitted to us they made a mistake earlier, but were now retracting saying Subaru had made a faulty piece, and that we should have the automatic start uninstalled, take it over to Subaru have them fix what Audio Express broke, then comeback and have the automatic start reinstalled!!! So we're supposed to go a week without a car because they messed up?? After a couple of threats with a lawyer, they uninstalled it and gave us our money back. The manager was nice, but he should've tried harder to understand our situation, and handled the mess up better. read more

Confusion, Miscommunication, Never ending sales pitches, slowest service ever. Worse than when Sears blew up my transmission. I arrived at the store at 9:10am. I spoke with a salesperson the day before, and via emails throughout the week. I told them I was interested in speakers and a head unit. They directed me to some "good sales" they had going on. Upon arrival at the store, there was no note of my request, so I had to look it up online. Ahh the weekly add had changed this morning. No reservation, no reserved price. I said fine. I picked a new head unit and new speakers. After being told that I shouldn't want "those" speakers because they are "low quality", I moved to the middle of the road speakers. Then another discussion ensued about the head unit being "low quality." I didn't budge because he kept trying to put me in the most expensive unit. Then he informs me that my 10 disc changer will no longer work, nor will my steering wheel controls, and I'd have to add 2 items costing $200. I decided against the head unit. Then he spent 10 minutes trying to sell me on noise blocking insulation. Nope. Then he rings me up. "Home of the $1 install" only applies on some items. Didn't tell me that until right before he grabbed my debit card. Now here's where I got real irritated: He tells me that "it might not be done until 7, but we have to tell everyone that. It'll probably be done much earlier than that." I walked around and saw my car being pulled in at 10:30am. Then I sat. And waited. And waited. I get it, you have to remove the door panels to access the front speakers. That's fine, but it took until 6:45 until my car was ready. Door panels are a 10minute issue per door, installation is a 10minute issue per door. It's an hour and a half install MAX. Yet somehow it took 9h30m start to finish. Price: Speakers via kenwood.com- $48.98. Price at Audio Express- $119.99 Coupons: apparently didn't apply for me Sales Price: "we don't have the up to date weekly ad, we just know what you want is from last week's ad." Installation: $1, just kidding $75 for 4 speakers Salesmanship: Pressured into "upgrading" over 15 times during one visit. "Necessary shop supplies" I was charged $21.38 for unidentified supplies. Pretty sure you don't need any individual/specific supplies for a speaker swap. Ironically, I had intended on bringing in my Audi to have a bass system installed. There is genuinely 0 chance of that happening. There went a $500+ sale lost due to a thoroughly terrible experience. read more

Was a bit on the expensive side, but did an amazing job on a subwoofer, amplifier, and line output converter install, and were VERY kind and knowledgeable.
