I went out to my car to go home last night and it wouldn't start. My remote start had been acting funny so I thought it may have been locked out. I called the guys on Indian School Red, which is right down the street. Casey was kind enough to come to my work and check it out. I live 30+ miles from work, so a tow would be crazy. Turns out it was just a fuse, he replaced it and my car is back up and running!!!! Way OVER AND ABOVE! About 3 months ago my boyfriend hooked my Kia up with a keyless remote + amp and 12 inch sub. Best gift ever (all my past rides had crappy sound systems).. Long story short, I go out of town to return and my settings had been changed. Wtf! Needless to say I've been messing with the controls since. This was my second time to this location, first time got my dash speakers replaced on my car second time I got a alpine stereo and some twelves and amp for my truck. The whole staff was extremely on point, my truck was finished within about three and a half hours and my car only took them about a hour. Biggest rip off ever! $1 install, HA! They forgot to mention the over $70-$90 in "parts" that they're going to charge you. I went in and told them that I wanted to be out the door while spending under $200. And guess what, his first quote was on a $159 head unit...$230 after the install. So explain to me what part of "I want to be out the door spending LESS than $200?" So they get an F in customer service...for not listening to the customer! After that, they showed me a $109 head unit, and that was going to be just over $200 out the door. What a f#$%ing joke. I'm not spending over $90 after I buy a $109 head unit. You guys are horrible! Go to Sun Valley Stereo, where I got a Sony CDX-GT520 head unit for $192 out the door! The head units I was quoted on at Audio Express weren't even close to the quality of the Sony I have now. Firstly. For real value and excellent customer service, visit Sun Valley Stereo near 28th St & Thomas. You won't regret it. Now to explain just why. Is it possible to choose not even 1 star? How bout negative stars for negative customer experiences. I'm a real reviewer that hasn't any loyalties to merchants that have lost my faith in their business practices. Audio express on Indian School near 22nd Street will be a waste of your hard earned money. First let's address the home of the 1 $ install nonsense. It's bogus. It never was or will be what they advertise. And even if technically in some fine print it states it's the truth, I can guarantee that the message you hear advertised about the install is COMPLETELY misleading. Will they ever be frank about what exactly they are billing that one dollar for? An install is an install. Whether you want to draft it as labor or parts, all of that incorporates an install to me as far as the world is concerned. And while we're on the subject of parts, heres a prime example. I'll try to minimize the story. I lost my removal keys to my pioneer deck, the ones that come inside of every car stereo box at purchase. One day I needed to examine my wiring for some static occurring. I wished to buy these removal keys from some place and audio express quickly came to mind. Car stereos is their business, they have to carry them, right? Upon asking the clearly untrained in customer service sales associate my dilemma, he went to an office to discuss how I could retrieve these tiny tools. He explains that Audio Express doesn't have the deck removal keys, and that the installers use 'special tools' to remove decks. I proceeded to clarify what I was looking for, plainly two metal inserts that pioneer ships with every deck they offer. After being interrupted twice from the salesman, I explained I merely needed to pull and slide my deck out and nothing more, I settled on the fact that I'd need to use these 'special tools' the installers had to loosen my deck. The salesperson tells me I'd be charged $40 to have an installer take 10 seconds to loosen my deck for me. I purchased my system and alarm from them within the last two years, but after that offer to rape my wallet for such a measly service I told the salesperson I would never return for further business and would tell as many people I could to stay away. [yelp :) ] I called the next search result on google maps Sun Valley Stereo without telling them beforehand of the experience I had with Audio Express. "Like a good neighbor" Sun Valley handed me the removal keys when I arrived no questions. They knew as well as I that these keys are basically throw aways once installation is complete and had plenty on hand. With this tiny gesture from Sun Valley, they have earned my business away from Audio Express forever. I understand business concepts and staying afloat with necessary evils that most customers just aren't going to like, but this took the cake and broke the camels back. Hello, I purchased a viper 5704 Alarm Remote Start System from 6710 W Camelback Rd Glendale, AZ 85303 (623) 245-1911 on (2/15/2013) Invoice #: QC1470 The remote start is working great and I was very satisfied with the purchase however; the customer service division is not so pleasing. I am having problems with my Viper 5704 when I dis-arm it, it arms itself a minute later. Also there is another issue regarding the alarm going off when the key is put inside the ignition. I took in my vehicle to the Audio Express @ Camelback Rd Glendale, AZ 85303 (623) 245-1911 on (2/28/2013) & (3/3/2013 TODAY) to bring up this issue & hopefully resolve the problem. However, I was told that there isn't any spots free until the next Tuesday and that it's first come first serve repeatedly. I purchased the 1 year warranty from Audio Express for this exact reason; in-case I had any problems I would have them resolved. I was told to bring in my vehicle at 9AM however this is not possible for me as I work a graveyard shift and the earliest I can come in is around 1 - 3 PM. The only reason this place even gets 1 star is because the guys were relatively friendly and helpful. The 1 star is purely for pricing...well and for selection. Their car stereo selection is rather bare consisting of 1 wall with about 15 stereos...3 of which were for boats only. Clearly the $1 install is an exaggeration and I expected some hidden charges, but I didn't expect to be scammed. I was able to find a better unit online for a cheaper price AND the parts to install were free INCLUDING a DIY guide. Also some wiring kit they charged me $100 for (which I was told was a discount from $130) I was able to get online for $64 and BestBuy woulda charged me $52. All in all a unit listed at $130 cost $300 out the door and to make matters worse you can't even make a damn install appointment. You just show up and hope there aren't too many cars in front of you!! This place is a real joke and I hope that I can keep a few other suckers from making the same mistake I did by not researching this place first!!!!! read more

Josh, the manager, said The Last time I went in, "...Your vehicle is the reason the stereo makes buzzing sound...". Okay, so Why did they recommend installing this Kenwood stereo then???. The first time I went in they 'Forgot' to hook door speakers; Another time they Did Not wire system to steering wheel- And I Paid $100 Extra for This!!! I normally don't take the time to review when things go right since I tend to believe that is what is supposed to occur with any business. However, I wanted to write a review since we initially had an issue with the ignition switch and electrical after an install of a stereo and alarm but it was resolved by the manager to my amazement. At first I thought we were going to have to battle it out to have Audio Express review and repair this issue since when we came in the car obviously started but when the install was done, it did not without having to put the car in neutral. Came at this with a readiness to pounce but to my amazement the Manager scheduled a review of the install in a few days so that he could have an electrician present since they at first indicated it could just be a faulty ignition switch. I began the rant about how that could have magically gone bad during the install all on its own and was meet by "you are right" but to be certain, lets us have that reviewed for you". When all was said and done, got a call to come get the car and it was fixed at no extra cost. I appreciate when an effort is made to do the right thing so I wanted to write this review to applaud the Manager for doing exactly that. I see a lot of bad reviews and wanted to at least note that in my case, it was handled professional and I was pleased by that. Can't speak to the other bad reviews but at least wanted to give a solid acknowledgement that either the company has improved in the last month in regards to their handling of any issues or could be I was just the lucky one - hope it is the later. Not happy! I bought an auxiliary cord that I was expecting to pay maybe 10$ for the only one the carried was almost 30$ I live about an hour away. I installed the cord,and not 3 days later it shorted out. I went back 2 months later. I understand that's not right away,but I also think a 27$ cord should work for more than 8 weeks. The 5$ cord I used to replace their inferior product is working great still. Their customer service was not existent ...........they certainly lost me as a future customer,and anyone that may ask my opinion..... read more

I went in about a month ago to have speakers and a radio put in. All the guys there were super awesome. They told me honest info about what I needed in my car. It was a little pricey but the quality is 110% Ian and Matt were especially awesome, they both called me after I left just to make sure I was enjoying the speakers and radio. Was ready to buy a in-dash navigation but sales employee gave us the worst customer service: 1: we had to ask for help, no one came to us 2: once we got help we asked about the unit and he told us to read the manual, its also online. 3: We asked for the price he told us 900 than when I wanted the unit he told me the 900 dollars is for a smaller unit not the one your looking at. So I went in to look at what car stereos they had to offer and after working with a salesperson, decided on a nice replacement stereo for my car. He wrote up a ticket and I explained I wanted to put on a card I was not carrying at the time. I asked him if he could kick in the purchase and specified install date. He assured me that would be fine and I could come in the next day, today, and make payment. Well, I went in today to fill the paperwork out and low and behold my install date was no longer available. I asked if it was yesterday and he said yes but others had book up time slots today before me. So, it wasn't really reserved and I later was told I could drop off at 9 and they should have it done by closing time or just past (6:00 or later). I decided this is not a place I want to do business and a large sale for them was lost. I DO NOT recommend taking your business here. Went in to purchase a stereo for my 16 year old son. I was very specific "I want the least expensive large stereo you have". I was asked if I were planning on installing myself, I replied no, otherwise I could go to Pep Boys and buy a stereo. This guy says "I got the perfect stereo for you" ... the cost with install was $369...I replied you have to have something that cost less, so he walks me over to another wall to show me the small stereo, but below the small stereo is a large stereo for $199 installed. I told the guy, does that fit in the car, he replied yes. 5 stars are not enough I went in to get a new radio for my 2003 Toyota Corolla. The install was taking longer than expected when the manager came to tell me the good news-bad news. Good news is the radio is in and it works. The bad news is your car wont start and we havent figured out why yet. At this point I am instantly picturing a several hundred dollar repair bill not the mention the inconvenience of waiting until monday to get to my mechanic to fix it. A few minutes later Chris, who was working on the problem shows me the problem, some bushing cotter pin part that makes a connection in the transmission. Apparently some mechanic at some point replaced it with a bread tie. WTH?!? When they pulled the old radio they had to put gearshift all the way down and the tie broke. But could have broken at any time....cuz it is a freakin' bread tie and meant to hold a plastic bag shut not keep a car running. I could do without that kind of mcgyvering! Chris told me the part to get at Auto Zone and told me he would install it. Off to Auto Zone I go and they sell me the wrong thing. Chris looked up exactly what was needed, something Auto Zone should have done and then offered to go with me to get it to make sure it was right this time. They only had one of the parts (another WTH? moment) but Chris told me he could MAKE the other part, a bushing. We go back to Audio Express and within a few minutes Chris had the part made, installed and my car running again. I have tunes again and a car that isn't going to stop running and cost me money for someone to figure out why. OH, and he noticed one of my tires was low on air and added some air for me. I wish I knew how to post a picture of my new setup. It came out phenomenal. It looks factory, there are no cables hanging from the glove box or any hokey crap like that. It looks Ford factory installed and it sounds great, I have access to gauges that I couldn't see before, trans temp, batt voltage, intake/exh temps, etc. TPS light just came on before, now it shows which tire is low and by how much. Not to mention apple car play that handles almost all of my apps plus all my texts and calls. If you're around 75th ave and Thomas talk to Manney or Josh and they will get you set up nice. read more

I called around and Audio Express has the lowest price for getting a remote start added to my car. The staff where nice to work with but they just kept installing the remote start wrong! Everything was working perfectly but there was no sound for the lock and unlock. They suggested I continue to use my old key fob for that - I told them I didn't want to carry around two key fobs and to please correct it. They had my car all day so by the time I picked it up I was headed to work. The extra time it took to correct the lock / unlock sound was making me late so I took off as soon as it was done. I discovered that neither the lock or unlock worked anymore - but they did make a sound! I could also drive the car without ever putting the key in the ignition. I had to schedule to bring my car back again to have them fix this issue. They were sure to tell me that I wouldn't be charged for the reinstall or labor... which made me laugh. Thanks for not charging me for you to fix the remote start that you installed incorrectly. Time is money and while I'm grateful that the staff are pleasant to work with I'm annoyed that I'm spending so much time here! read more

Took 5 days to get a stereo in my car and even at that my A/C controls are all ghetto rigged and don't work. On top of that a worker there was backing up my car and hit someone's truck coming out of the garage...worst part is the damn truck was PARKED. Also my heater doesn't work now to them as well. A week ago I arranged with audio express on 75th Ave to replace my existing speakers. I was quoted 492.00 installed. The speakers were JL speakers. When done the cost was 1150. I was falsely told that they had to remove my back seat and put in another amp for 99.00. The next day the subwoofer had terrorible distortion-obviously bad. I took it back today. I learned today the subwoofer was not JL. They now refuse to put in the J L subwoofer ordered originally. Now they want 292.00 more. This is a serious bait and switch store. Do not do business with them. I am contacting a lawyer to sue them for fraud and misrepresentation. You couldn't pay me enough to return to this store. read more
