The sales people here talk about how great their products are and they stand behind it. I bought a deck here and spent about $700. Three weeks after the install The screen would shut off and then come back on like it reset itself. After a few times it just never came back on. When I took it down to the bell rd location where I bought it from the installer looked at it and said it's getting power and doesn't know why it won't come on. When I went back into the store the guys up front told me James the DM said there was water damage and there's nothing they could do. There was no water or any sort of liquid near my stereo at anytime. I told the guys up front I want to speak with James/GM but they said he's in his office and is busy. I told them again to get him out here, they said he won't, he's busy. This coward James who is supposedly the District Manager for all the locations couldn't even come to the counter to try and resolve the issue, which is your job! Instead has sales guys do his dirty work for him. James this message is for you since you have to hide in your office when problems occur ! You're a coward and obviously a feckless leader!! Your water damage clam is a BS way of not having to do the right thing and replacing an obviously faulty product. I'm sure conducting business like you do assures you get your bonus every quarter. I wouldn't buy anything from this place, they don't care about the customer. I will never be back to any of your locations and will be sure to let other people I know to stay away as well. read more

James and Darian both were trying to troubleshoot my amp problem and after two days of messing with it and talking to tech support they figured it out. Took our new crv to audio express and had them put in a amp and sub. Talked to the salesman and requested that the amp be put under the seat. We'll after the installation was done the amp was mounted on the back off the rear back seats. We where upset and the manager came out and gave us every excuse why it needs to be mounted back there but came up with a solution to make us happy... took the car back again for the solution .... Time to pick up the car. The solution was not done because it would make the amp and stick out to far instead they remounted the amp in a different spot on the seat . So now we have holes where the original screws where and it look like crap. I thought they where professionals but I guess not. Now we have a new car that's butchered. Bought a new 2019 Honda but was not happy with the audio quality. I looked at a few places prior to audio express that was just a waste of time. Initially I thought I needed new speakers but with the quality of new speakers in new cars these days, I was informed that I probably just needed a sub woofer. Seeing as I was looking for a more full music experience and bass that you could feel I figured they were correct. Decided to go with a 12" on Monday night, dropped the car off Tuesday at 9am and by 12pm they were done. The sub that was recommended was exactly what I was looking for. Zero sign of after market work and everything looks and sounds seem less. Will definitely recommend and will definitely be back when I am ready to add more improvements to my sound system. read more

I'm having problems with my power amp, Lexus uses fiber optics they wanted to rewire and install whole new system 3-4 thousand dollars they said, the tech didn't even want to diagnose the problem or service the amp. Purchased an Amplifier and Sub woofer. I installed the system. I brought it back to Audio Express to connect to the correct wire harness.. Very little sound came from the system. I came in for a full quote for installation of dash kit and receiver and everything else included. The quote was given before the installation and I paid before dropping off the car. I later get a call to change me more for installing steering wheel controls and antenna which was mentioned at the time of requesting the quote. Ryker, the manager, listened carefully my concern and immediately summoned Chris, the tech, to share and listen to my complain. They took their time to research what I needed to improve the sound quality which was a kind of hard task because is one of those high end German car. They came out with a solution and after installing the necessary equipment, my sound system is PERFECT! I call this place "Idiot Express - Home of the $1 wire fire". This place is HORRIBLE.. not even just this location, all their locations! First off.. there is no such thing as a $1 install. If you purchase the receiver yourself it's $30 less than if they install it for you. Ummm... that's not a $1 install. Perhaps I'm missing something and it's only on selected merchandise but it's still misleading and crooked. Secondly they will way over charge you for a car kit. They wanted to charge me $32 for a car kit that retails for $11. I imagine wholesale is a lot cheaper. They never have what they advertise in stock so it's always a bait and switch and if all the stars align and the world comes together for you... you will still have to wait the whole day for an install (unless you show up before they open the store) or have to reschedule for another day. Horrible customer service! They don't care for your business.. they obviously don't need your business because if they did they wouldn't treat customers so horribly. I brought my vehicle in to have stereo replaced. An hour and a half to get a kit, promised installation would only take a few hours, well I was there for six. Well with all that.... the stereo sticks out of my dash, wrong kit, can't use blue tooth as it's distorted and no one can hear me. The stereo is crooked and I specifically asked for a stereo that has the ac/heat controls on the touch screen of the radio and yet that wasn't what I got. I have to now reach behind the stereo to work my ac/heat!!!! I thought these where pros.... asking me they're nothing but amateurs!!!! read more

I went to this location back in November 2016...I think the last time I used Audio Express was in 1998! Anyway, I went to have a new stereo installed in my van. I was very pleased -- I can't remember who helped me, but they assisted me in picking out a very reasonably priced stereo and installed it immediately -- I think I was only there for less than 2 hours. I've been thrilled with the stereo! So, I returned to them in May 2017 to have an alarm installed on a new van. This was a much longer process (due to the type of van I have) than I expected and required me to return to have it completed. I then realized that I really should have gone with the auto-start option as well....when I explained this to James (the manager), he offered to upgrade the system for me when I returned from my trip for just the additional cost of the difference in systems. They also added an additional power outlet for me when I mentioned that would be helpful! Of course, I proceeded to blow the fuse on that power outlet within just a day or so by using a low quality inverter -- when I called James back to let him know, he had me bring it right down and the guys fixed it for me immediately at no charge. I was very pleased with the above and beyond customer service from James, Josh, and the other technician (I'm sorry, I didn't get his name) and plan to return to them for any future stereo or alarm needs!! read more

This review is a little late but better late then never. Christmas 2015....my wife got me a new car radio with speakers from Audio Express. Audio Express did the install and I was happy! Fast forward to this past Christmas/holiday season. My new speakers did not sound the way new speakers should sound like. So I went in and they (Audio Express) checked them. It turns the two front speakers are blow out and the back two are on the verge of blowing out as well. My wife did not get a warranty & I get it......but how do you not guarantee the quality of your products for at least a year? The guys there were nice (which is the only reason why this is not a 1 star review) but in the end said they can't do anything for me. Really???? Went on with my wife's old (but good) Toyota just for a cheapy AM FM CD player. Decided on a $149 JVC unit. I get a call 2 hours later that a "special" wiring harness was needed ($130). So now I'm up to $280. When I go to pick the car up, there's an additional charge for extra parts in the amount of $50! Forked over the cash but will NEVER do business there again. Long time customer but probably not anymore. Came in Friday and bought a car alarm system, asked for appointment and told the earliest installation would be tomorrow (Saturday) at 9:00 am and to get here early it's "first come first served". Showed up at 8:30 AM, 3rd in line.....Checked in and asked how long to complete since I would be waiting around. The sales guy said "about 2 hrs or so". They said this exact quote to others dropping off cars too. At 1 hr the guy who sold the unit to me said he was working to get me back asap. My truck had not moved. He said, they had a couple cars held over night that needed finished first, so much for checking in early and staying. After 1 hr. 20 mins. a truck that was not there before me was taken back and work started. I know I went back to see the bays and who was being worked on. At 1 hr and 30 mins. the first person's vehicle was completed and they were done. No one in a hurry to get mine started. At 1 hr 45 mins I finally asked how much longer, told the sales guy about the other truck going ahead of me and when will my truck be going in? I mentioned the guy at check in saying it would take "about 2 hrs or so". He then said, "that's how long until we would begin". I said no, I specifically asked at check in how long it would take to complete and was told "about 2 hrs or so", not that it would just begin. He said he would check on it. About 5 mins. later and 2-3 trips from the back to the paperwork he came over and told me he'd "get it going in about 25 mins". I told him I'll take the refund and cancel...I have had 4-5 alarms installed in the last 20 years and I will not be doing business here again. May sound like I'm a little impatient but I had other stuff to do and in sales/service you need to manage customer expectations better. I didn't have a ride to leave my truck there all day, I had other things to do. They were not getting started on my truck for almost 2 hrs 15 mins IF he could get in in with the 25 mins he quoted. So I insisted on a refund on principle. Another guy tried to tell me the reasons for the delays and I just told him it didn't matter I just wanted the refund. Without appointments it's a free for all and you better be prepared to drop and leave your vehicle for 1/2 day or more to get work done. read more

Took my Tahoe in as the new stereo was not working had no idea why and was a bit worried about what it would cost to get it fix as I had no idea about this. James was just great explained everything to me best and worst case scenarios and bam fixed it for $125. Don't go anywhere else but this place dealers will take advantage of you! James was like talking to an old friend and he is honest and just a fun guy to talk with. I forget the guy's name who worked on my truck but he was great also I could see myself going out and drinking a beer with these guys and shooting the shinola.....just a wonderful experience. read more

Horrible. They cracked my dash in several places while trying to do a stereo install, called me and told me they cracked my dash and that they were not going to pay to replace it. I had to hassle the manager who was allegedly talking to corporate just to get a simple refund. They never did pay for the damages to my car and didn't even end up installing the stereo. Then when I went back to get my refund one of the managers (I think it was a manager) was this middle aged dude with a beard was staring at me and was very unprofessional and ultra creepy and awkward when all I had come for was to get my money back. A disappointing visit. They have very small stock, high prices, and the employees really don't know the products. Some of the demo units couldn't really be tried out because they hadn't wired up the parking brake lockout, or didn't have the USB connector available. They couldn't really answer my questions, and instead chatted about meaningless stuff. They recommended things I told them weren't going to meet my needs. read more

My pet dog could have better installed our stereo- and DEFINITELY would have been friendlier. When we got the vehicle there was a dent in the door and scratches on the dash. They denied fault and claimed damage existed. We were totally powerless to prove that they in fact damaged our vehicle. The manager said he would review the shop video camera tapes, but we have yet to hear back from him on this. One speaker wire was routed in front of the parking break pedal which prevented us from using the parking brake. The back-up camera lights were mis-wired which made it so the reverse lights would not turn off. They also left trash (plastic shavings and wire clippings) all over the inside of our vehicle. Then after all that, we got the vehicle and started our long planned 2-month road trip. After 2 hours into a 4,000 mile road trip the radio stopped working all together. We were on a two month road trip - so not only did we no longer have a radio, but they told us that if we didn't being it in in 30 days the warranty would expire and they wouldn't fix it- even though it only worked for 2 hours and we called them right away!!! We have left 7 messages for the regional manager and we have yet to hear from him. This is a totally incompetent organization. read more

I have to say that this Audio Express saved me all kinds of heartache and absolutely made my day. About a month ago, I purchased a Pioneer Navigation unit which got very good reviews on several different websites. After a month of use, I was completely dumbfounded on how this unit got the reviews it did. I absolutely HATED the unit. (Enough of the unit, this is a review for Audio Express :) ) I was so upset I thought about selling my vehicle just to get it out of my sight. After the last straw was pulled on this navigation unit I called Audio Express to ask how much it would cost to put the factory radio back in my car. The salesman told me that because I purchased it from them and had it installed by them, they would do it at no charge; and even better, they would upgrade me to a different navigation unit if I chose and all I would need to pay for would be the difference in the cost of units! I was thrilled! Not only did I get rid of the old Pioneer unit I hated, I got a new and better Kenwood unit for a very little difference in cost! The sales people were great both times I went in there. I would highly recommend. The only thing bad I can say about this location is that both times I went in for the install, they took a bit longer then originally quoted. I suggest they try to under promise and over deliver. This way people aren't standing around frustrated waiting past the estimated completion time and are surprised at how fast the install for their hardware went. I recently cleaned my truck and unplugged my sub and when I plugged it back in, I did it incorrectly and blew my amp. The warranty I bought only covered manufacturer errors so I was not covered and would have had to buy a new amp; However, James the store manager was able to work around this and replaced my amp free of charge. I give this place a single star because when I asked if they could install my stereo system without damaging my car and he said yes. Not only did I have to go back for them to fix and replace speakers because they hooked it up incorrectly and it blew the speakers. And then I still had to take it to somewhere else because they couldn't get it right. The other place explained that they still did it wrong. Good price on new stereo. Install was fairly quick, however they broke several clips on trim pieces and brackets holding the panels into the dash. They hide the damage so you cannot see it. Be aware you get what you pay for. read more
