I have literally spent thousands of dollars in service and merchandise over the last 26 years at Audio Express here in Phoenix, Arizona. I just had a 'dash-cam' installed in my truck three days ago, and was very pleased with the project. I was quoted two shop hours, but was given a break to 1-1/2 hours in final billing. I have had radios, speakers, cameras and now a dash cam installed in my vehicles. They have always done good work, and expensive, but fair pricing. These guys have got to eat too, ya' know! This morning, I went to the store in Glendale, Arizona and was given the run around. I purchased a dash cam and had it installed by another provider who installed the wiring incorrectly and shorted out my essential safety sensors. I asked our auto dealer who they would recommend and they said they send everyone to Audio Express. This dealership is a large chain of multiple auto brands. I called the Glendale store and asked if they could fix the previous installation on Saturday and they told me yes, it was $99 an hour and customers were first come, first served. I was told the store opens at 9 but it was recommended to be there by 8. We live over 30 minutes away and got to the store at 8:00 and were 3rd in line. I am handicapped and it is very painful for me to walk and stand. One salesman got there at 8:30 and said he had to wait until a 2nd employee arrived before he could enter the store for dual custody purposes. While he waited for the second employee, he asked all of us what we were there for. We discussed my situation and he said no problem, it would take about an hour after they opened. However, a second sales agent checked us in and he told us that since it was not purchased there, the policy was to only install non-customer items by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Since this "New" condition was not disclosed previously when I called in and was told they could do it on Saturday as first come first served, and the Sales agent who triaged the crowd did not say anything about it, there is no such policy posted in the store or online, I as the customer feels this was an arbitrary policy used by the second sales agent because his sales commission would not be maximized. It was extremely unfair to not have had this arbitrary policy disclosed up front since I stood in line for over an hour to be checked in with the pain from my disability. I will inform the dealership chain I have purchased several new vehicles from, friends, family and everyone I encounter not to use Audio Express as they make up their own rules as they go along. read more

Ryan, Sam and the guys saved me! I was refugee from a not completely successful Crutchfield stereo install. After 8 (really, 8) calls to Crutchfield tech support and 9+ hours of work I could not get the display on my daughter's Nissan Pathfinder to come back to life nor any audio from the new stereo. In desperation or surrender I called Audio Express on Bell Road. Ryan answered and was professional and kind as I explained, saying "no problem we're happy to take a look". We brought the car over with the center console pieces dangling from cables. Less than two hours later all was working great and they charged me 20% of what it might have cost -- very reasonable. The guys knew what they were doing (obviously) and were totally cool handling a half-finished DIY attempt. Beyond the good results, their great attitude won me over. I'm waiting for James to contact me about my fathers car. My father went in for a car alarm that would fit his needs and came out without that... and Ryker the sales person it a great "talker" and NOT a great listener. It was very frustrating when you are told what you purchased will do certain things and it doesn't. HOWEVER for another 200 bucks it can. My father started out at 200 quote and ended up paying almost 700 and it still didn't meet his needs. It had to be taken in to be fixed within a couple months AND the tech was SUPER unprofessional. I posted a comment on my personal Facebook page and discussing the frustrations my boyfriend and I were having with an install and everyone kept asking if it was Audio Express, since I never mentioned a company we were dealing with. My boyfriend bought a brand new car, fresh off the lot about two to three weeks ago. The first upgrade he wanted was to his stereo system. We got quotes from a few places, and they ended up being competition systems and some quotes were for a few more items than we were thinking we wanted. I began doing online research and suggested we try Audio Express. I reached out online, and got pretty good customer service. The person online, James Bustamante, suggested speaking with Noah at this location, and he stated he would discuss the specials I mentioned in the inquiry email. We went to the store location and asked to speak with Noah, the staff at the location seemed young but confident. Noah asked what we were looking for, and wanted to look things up on the computer rather than checking out the vehicle at all. We mentioned that the JL Audio package we saw online appeared to have all the items we were looking for, but then Noah sort of grilled us about the JL Audio package, asking where we found it and how we heard of it. My boyfriend mentioned hearing multiple ads on the radio, and I told him I saw it on the website towards the bottom of the page and recalled it contained yellow in the ad. Noah then said he found it and the package would work for our vehicle and then went outside to take a look with us. We ended up purchasing the package that day, we purchased the install, warranty and upgraded wiring as well. We were told that the package was on hand and could have been installed same day, had we come in earlier according to the receipt it was 16:49 when we made the purchase- so with that statement it sounded as if a full day would be more than enough time to get things installed. We told Noah we could not bring the vehicle in until 09/01/18 & he said we should be there at 9am- which we were. We dropped the vehicle off at 09:00 on 09/01/18 & did not hear a thing from them about the vehicle until we called at about 15:45 and were informed they had run into issues and were hoping to have the vehicle finished around 18:00, we were not happy about that, but what could we do? We got another phone call around 18:00 saying the install was complete, but there was no sound and they were having issues connecting with JL Audio. We got another call just after 18:00 and were asked to leave the car overnight, we said not possible and we would pick it up by 19:00 and then proceeded to show up just shy of the time we provided. We showed up and Noah was standing at the counter speaking on the phone to the shop manager. My boyfriend was upset, and wanted the vehicle done, so Noah asked the person on the phone to come in and get this install completed, and he could be heard pleading with the person, but clearly getting nowhere. Some time passed and Noah came back at told us he informed us when we dropped off the vehicle that we would likely have to leave it overnight. We did not leave the keys with him, he was with a customer & on the phone when we dropped off, but he did take our ticket from a binder and hand it to the person that took our keys. Further words were exchanged with Noah, not very nice from my boyfriend or him and that is when Zach stepped in to try and smooth things over. It was relayed to us that a specific technician was supposed to complete our install, as nobody else had performed one on a 2018 Dodge Challenger, and the technician failed to show up for work and refused to come in to complete the job. Another skilled technician stepped up to complete the task, but ran into some issues. We ended up waiting around until AFTER closing time to see if the vehicle would be completed. We then decided to leave the vehicle overnight when we were told they were experimenting and ended up crossing wires to get sound. There is no reason to mess things up in a brand new car, hence the reason for bringing it in for a professional installation. The location opened today at 12:00 and we got a call close to 14:00 saying the vehicle was almost ready, and could be picked up around 15:00; then we received a call about ten minutes later asking if they could drill the dash to add a remote level control for the bass, to which we agreed. Zach and Noah greeted us when we picked up the vehicle today, and things were as pleasant as they were going to be. It was nice of them to add a remote control knob for the bass, which is a good perk but does not match the all JL Audio system we were going for with the JL Audio package purchase. The JL Audio package did not even end up being a package, because the JL Audio OEM Integration (which we were told when we made the purchase was better than the one they would normally suggest) was not included. We were given an Audio Control LC7i rather than the JL OEM. read more

Once again, I took to this store which I have had very positive experiences before. The new manager, Ryker, listened to my concerns and immediately asked Chris, one of the most knowledgeable tech ever met, to listen to my concern. please be aware there is a no refund policy on any items, new in box, or otherwise that's in fine print on the back of the receipt. reasonably so considering the i can find the same thing on amazon for 1/3 the price same day shipping. I was able to talk them into reasoning with the circumstances i was under, so got my money back. I got my car back to my door panels not attached properly so I had to go back another day so they could fix both my door panels and shocker I get my car back and it's still not right- there were small access panels just sitting on my floor and passengers seat! Luckily I was able to put those three panels back on the car. What a disappointment. I got my first car alarm system installed by Audio Express in Las Vegas. So after my truck was broken in to and key fob stolen I went to this Phoenix Audio Express to put in a new alarm (had the old alarm for close to 20 years). My suspicions should have been raised when they finished it fairly quick. But I didnt think anything of it. Well after a few days the alarm would go off 45 minutes after i parked the vehicle and armed the alarm with the fob. This was occurring every day. So I took the vehicle back in to get the situation taken care of. After going over the vehicle for a while they only thing they could tell me was the my door latches needed to be replaced. What?!?!? This was never an issue before with the old alarm. Now all the sudden my latches were bad? I dont think so. I eventually took the vehicle over to Best Buy on Thunderbird and the tech knew exactly what was happening after explaining the issue and what this Audio Express tech told me. Well guess what....my alarm works perfect now, no thanks to this business. And I didnt have to replace the door latches. They probably didnt even install any kind of new hardware and wires. Probably used the 20 year old set up. Sorry, not sorry, guys. You will never get my business again. read more

I am very happy by the stereo install by audio express. I had them install a Sony XAVAX1000 (opted in Buying a unit from amazon cuz honestly it was the only one I liked the way it looked and they didn't sell it) in my 4Runner and I love it. They even put in the effort of wiring a microphone above the rear view mirror! This is my second addition to my car by audio express and I'm very impressed by their quality work and customer service! Yes the precautions they have right now because of the pandemic. But everyone is taking precautions and in my opinion it's worth it! I want to start this review by saying the store manager Noah was as helpful as he could be given our situation on Monday. My husband and I were planning to bring our suv in for a drop down DVD player that was supposed to be on sale through the end of the month. The sale ended the 28 and after some back and forth Noah said he would honor the sale price due to the miscommunication of an employee. Great thanks. We then decided on going with another unit after browsing the store and left our suv there at 10:15 and were told it would take 2-3 hours. At 3:10 I called wondering what was going on and the front desk employee Dylan informed us it would be another 45 mins and if anything changes he would call to let us know since we live 30 mins away. Didn't receive any calls so we headed down and showed up at 4:30 to find out our car still wouldn't be done for another hour+. Dylan forgot to call and inform us of that because he was to busy talking to a friend or co worker about non related work issues. Finally at 5:45 our car was done. If you want to call it that. They life dirty fingerprints all over our head liner because they "ran out of cleaner" there is wires sticking out the side of the DVD player at the top and now something is rolling around loose inside the liner of our BRAND NEW CAR! This is my second visit to this store in 5 years and will be my last! The customer service from your front desk teenage employees is the worst I've ever seen. The installers could clearly give a crap about their work too considering how our suv now looks on the inside. Completely disappointed in the location the only positive was they were able to give a military discount. Other than that I'd pay more money somewhere else than waste your hard earned cash here! I am sure the employees are doing the best they can and I take that into consideration when writing this review. My wife and I upgraded our audio in our new ride. It was great until it wasn't and now we can't get anyone to look at it. I have been told repeatedly to show up when they first open to check availability for that day each day to see what the problem is. As a buisness owner that is impossible and unprofessional. The only locations that do appts are booked a month out. I thought I would go to the "best" since We spent 65k on the vehicle but I was better off somewhere else. Had no problem taking our money but when it comes to taking 10 mins to find the issue so I can at least get it fixed somewhere else or do it myself they are "sub par". Once again probably not the employees fault they are doing the best they can but I wouldn't recommend the company AT ALL. read more

I phoned in to inquire about an old keyless entry remote, was expecting the worst scenario: a new system, hours of installation and a huge chunk taken out of my wallet. The regional manager, James put my worries to rest and killed my anxiety. Told me to bring it in so I did. When i walked in, was greeted by Noah and Ty and Noah immediately started helping me out! If you want to get bombarded by 16 year old kids telling you they're trained professionals as soon as you walk through the door this is the place. Needed a wiring harness to plug into my door speakers so I didn't have to cut the stock harness on my bran new truck, was told multiple times no one in the valley carried them and I'd be wasting my money because they're trained professionals and they just cut them. Let alone the fact that's not what I wanted, but I can't imagine the hack jobs that roll out of this place with they're attitude. First they tried to sell me a discontinued infinity subwoofer that they wouldn't warranty. Really ? Then Was charged outrageous prices for an amp and subwoofer , then waited in line for 3 hours to get a first come first serve install only to be told it was too big a project and would need to be started Friday and picked up Sunday. The sales people here talk about how great their products are and they stand behind it. I bought a deck here and spent about $700. Three weeks after the install The screen would shut off and then come back on like it reset itself. After a few times it just never came back on. When I took it down to the bell rd location where I bought it from the installer looked at it and said it's getting power and doesn't know why it won't come on. When I went back into the store the guys up front told me James the DM said there was water damage and there's nothing they could do. There was no water or any sort of liquid near my stereo at anytime. I told the guys up front I want to speak with James/GM but they said he's in his office and is busy. I told them again to get him out here, they said he won't, he's busy. This coward James who is supposedly the District Manager for all the locations couldn't even come to the counter to try and resolve the issue, which is your job! Instead has sales guys do his dirty work for him. James this message is for you since you have to hide in your office when problems occur ! You're a coward and obviously a feckless leader!! Your water damage clam is a BS way of not having to do the right thing and replacing an obviously faulty product. I'm sure conducting business like you do assures you get your bonus every quarter.
