This is to James Bustamante District Manager, Audio Express On 5-24-19 I went to the Audio Express at 4961 W. Bell Rd. I had called ahead and talked with Derick and told him my son had recommended I call them.( I am 67 years old and rely on Professionals to give me the correct information I need to make a decision on things I am not familiar with) I told him that with the new laws ,about cell phone usage while driving, I wanted to convert my 2009 Nissan Maxim to be able to take calls through Bluetooth on the radio. He asked if I wanted a new radio and I told him no, I have a 6 cd Bose am/fm radio in the car. He said no problem that the adapter was around $109.99 and the install was $85.00. I said ok and went to the store. At the store he pulled a box down and, the young man who seemed to be in charge, told him that was the wrong one and retrieved the correct unit. Derick then punched in numbers and told me it would be $149.99 with an $85.00 install. I told him OK and he told me the final charge was $306.23( invoice C35043). He explained $19.19 for antenna, $19.99 radio to Nissan 07-up and $13.74 for shop supplies plus tax for a total of $306.23. I paid for it and went home got my wife and we came back to leave the car there to have the unit installed. After getting my wife's phone programmed to the unit we learned that to make a call you had to put the FM radio on 98.1, tell Google, on the phone, to call what ever number you wanted to call and the call would be made. They called my cell and I could barely hear them. They then called my daughter and she could barely hear them. My wife said to give it a try so we went home. My wife went to the store so I tried to call her. NO LUCK. Her phone even showed the missed call on her phone when she got home. I went to the car and tried it in several different modes, CD playing no call detected, FM radio static when phone rang. The only way to get the phone to ring was with the radio was set to FM 98.1. Went back to the store this morning around 11:00am and met with Derick. Told him the unit did not work as described, explained it did not work the way it was described to me. Would not accept calls and I was not satisfied with it at all and wanted it removed. He said Ok and we followed him inside. After he talked to the young man, who seemed to be in charge, I was told I could now receive a refund, I could get store credit, and I would only get around $189.00(I think) in store credit. This did not set well with me. I was then shown a phone holder that when my wife saw the phone ring she could change the radio to FM 98.1 and answer the phone. I said well then I don't need the adapter she could just push the speaker on the phone and talk, why did I need anything else. I was then told we could replace the radio, since I would not get a refund, but they only have a single disc CD player type radio. I told Derick no that that would seriously decrease the value of my car. Nothing could be worked out, I was told I would not get a refund, I had to take a store credit. I asked where I could contact the manager and was told they did not have one. I asked for the name of the District Manager and was given your name, Mr. Bustamante, and told you worked from that store from Tuesday through Saturday. I need you to know I went to your store on recommendation, asked YOUR professional staff what I needed to have a "Hands Free" phone installed in my car, purchased it and returned to have it installed by your Professionals. Resolution is this unit be remover and I receive a full refund for $306.23. Your Professionals told me what to put in my car, installed it and reassured me that it would work. I will see you Tuesday May 28, 2019 at the store to resolve this issue. read more

Terrible experience! Had a stereo installed in my wife's Chevrolet HHR. Thought perhaps the rear speakers were not hooked back up. Went to pick the car up and still no power to the rear speakers. Went in for another appointment to get the issue resolved and then was informed by the installer that the rear speakers were blown. We should have been informed of this at the first appointment not the third appointment. Installer stated that he told us that the rear speakers were blown. Not sure who he had the conversation was with, but it sure in the heck wasn't with my wife and/or I. Then they offered to put rear speakers in at our cost. My wife and I were not about to go through this mess again. If we get the rear speakers done we will definitely get it done elsewhere. The left hand definitely does not know what the right hand is doing. They do not go by appointments. My military background gave me the experience of hurrying up and waiting. The times I went there was a huge line and only one time did the staff in front tell everyone in line that they wont be able to get to everyone. I had my stereo installed there in my truck in 2013 was a great experience. Not sure how things went south since then. read more

I went to audio express to have why my amp looked at ,it was shutting off when I ran over bumps after 4 hours they said It looks like a loose connection in the fuse block , I said ok what ever to fix the problem then they said it could be my amp . I then drove my truck around the block and the amp shut down I went back to audio express talked to the salesman and he said I could drop off the truck again and wait AGAIN 4 hrs because the technician was on another car . I said to him ( I have to Wait again because your guy didn't fix it) he thought I was crazy because I felt like they should go right back on to look at the problem . I have had several complete systems installed here ,truck,car, boat and toy hauler and I will now go out of my way to have another company fix or replace anything window tint door actuators or stereo equipment . Audio express ! You don't know how to do what's right for your customers . My time is valuable too! read more

I went in to get a stereo installed in my car, and the staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and efficient. Over the phone I talked to a very helpful and well mannered employee (I think his name was Darrien or Darren, I cannot quite remember) and he got me in and out of the store quickly, and had a great job done on the installation. Let me start this off by saying I am not a huge fan of writing negative reviews. As a social media manager, I know how negatively these reviews impact businesses, so try not to leave any reviews if the store at least somewhat made up for their errors. Everyone makes mistakes. However, after several encounters with this store I feel that a review is definitely needed to be left for-warning customers in the future of issues they may experience. It started with me going in for a new radio in my newly purchased car. I selected out a radio and debated about buying it for a good hour. Standing in front of the radio I wanted, the sales agent trying to hard sell me it the whole time. Finally, a discount was offered on it and I decided to purchase it. When I come back the next day they installed the wrong radio. Whatever mistakes happen, but then they said the radio I wanted would be an extra 450$. I said hell no, I was not fixing to spend 1250$ on a radio and back up camera install. After 6 HOURS of sitting around (all the while asking if I can head home and come back and the agent telling me that it shouldn't be much longer) I paid 250$ more and had the radio I originally wanted installed. Without a Faceplate. I was furious but you know what, I wanted nothing more to do with that store ever again. Mistakes happen so I decided not to leave a review on my experience. Then the Bluetooth and the automatic opening and closing of the radio stopped working. Said fuck it and sent my roommate (because I was so done with the unprofessionalism of this company) to get the items fixed. They fixed the opening and closing, and said the Bluetooth may be "faulty" tried a few things and said if it doesn't work then to let them know. The kicker though, is that they had the GAL to say that they installed the Face Plate. I have 5 people who saw the radio immediately after it was installed. I have zero reason to lie about it. So their solution is that I buy a new faceplate and they'll install it. By far the worst experience I have had with a company. I've been called a liar, treated poorly and made to sit around and constantly be lied to over and over again. If I had the option I would have had them uninstall every single item and gone to another company just so I would never have to deal with them again. read more

Great place! Took my daughters car there to get 4 new speakers. They showed us a reasonably priced speaker and did NOT try to sell us pricier speakers which I appreciated. Our salesman told us they would keep the car overnight and it would be the first car worked on in the morning since we arrived late in the afternoon. ( they have a very reasonable first come first served policy). To my surprise they called a few hours later and said the car was done AND that they didn't recommend changing out the back speakers because they were in good shape! Wow!!!!! I have NEVER had a place tell me I didn't need to buy a product!! I was so impressed I took my own car in and had them install a pair of speakers I'd bought somewhere else ( only because they didn't carry the brand I wanted) and they cheerfully installed those in record time at a reasonable price. I'm going to give this shop a decent rating because these guys were good enough to take our car in after the other Audio Express told us it was first come, first serve after we had made an appointment. That being said he dropped the car off at 10 A.M. and it is now 5:38 P.M. and they just started working on the car. They told him this morning it wouldn't be more than 4 hours. This kind of sucked up our whole day off. While the works not done, I'm really hoping the other bad reviews I read were off base. So do a good job guys. My husband surprised my for my birthday with an auto-start package for my truck. He was told that we need to be there when they open because it's a first come first serve basis. He had already paid for the package at point. We arrived at the store on time and dropped our truck off and were told it would be 2-4 hours. A few hours later we call and ask if they had an ETA on when they might be done. They told us 1 more hour and we can pick the truck up. 30 minutes later we get a phone call asking us if we happened to have a spare key to the truck (which we don't). We're then told they have a locksmith that can get us a spare key made for $160. This is the first time, after four different interactions, that this was ever mentioned. So they dropped an extra $160 bill in our lab and then told us it would be several more hours.Their customer service is horrible, the "manager" said he doesn't have the ability to issue refunds, each employee we spoke with told us something completely different, and in all this chaos they tried to blame the employee that sold my husband the system whom they had conveniently fired within the last few days from when he purchased it. We won't be able to get the truck back until tomorrow at this point and we won't be back for any further services. As a side note, while we waited in the store trying to figure out this mess I saw them drop an unexpected fee on another customer after services had already been performed. read more

They write the quote on a piece of paper. . Then when I came back ready to buy he changed what he had included. . Charged for more parts... they made an ugly hole to put the USB cable. . Look like they just used a screw driver to break the plastic making ugly cracks. .. they didn't returned my original back up camara.. just "went missing" and they sold me another one for $200!... I had 2 cars done the same day.. bought alarm with remote start and stereos with big screen for both. .. I would not buy there again. . Parts shouldn't go missing and if they do they should pay for it... and i wish they did a more clean work. .. I've done this before at best buy and never had this problems with them... plus they shouldn't keep adding more things. .. If I ask for specific things to be done it's not my fault that the guy was forgetting to tell me about all the parts I needed to buy.. He should be the expert. NEVER EVER FOR ONE SECOND TRUST AUDIO EXPRESS!! James is not your friend and will screw you.....the customer is never right! I bought over $4000 in stereo, dvd and best car alarm. All had issues. The stereo internally malfunctioned and James has me pay for a new one. My DVD player stopped working- yep my fault! They checked my alarm and other components.....just to have 4 weeks later my new stereo stolen without even the alarm going off. Auto shop says its installed wrong. James says my latch to the door looked faulty- so not his problem!! Of course my door is broken, they jammed tools in during the theft. Audio express will sell you expensive merchandise and then not warranty the products and or workmanship. In both cases of failing stereo and alarm they made me responsible!! These guys are crooks at best. I will see these guys in court and the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WILL BE CONTACTED! I went online a purchased a backup camera for my F150. I didn't know that Audio Express had them. Anyway I was 90% done with the install but had trouble running the cable from the cab back to the tailgate. I went in and they finished all up for me for $50. They were great, friendly and showed me how they ran the cable. They even hooked up the power and got everything working. I will definitely buy speakers there when I upgrade them. This is some of the worst service I have ever had at a business. I wanted to get a remote start installed in my vehicle that is a 2014 juke with 25 thousand miles on it. I had them install the device an I get into my car an the check engine light is on. They tell me that their shop is closed an to bring it another day. I soon found out that my vehicle would not go above 3000 rpm. I took it back to this audio express an they had my car an entire day an could not figure out why my car was screwed up. I told them to take it out an I wanted my money back. I go to pick my car up an they said it was because of the module they had to use was a bad module after I had said take it out, my controls to my radio were all messed up, an they left TRASH in my car. When I went to get my money back I told another customer that he should read the reviews because they are true an the manager lied and told him it was because I wanted the module out when they screwed up my car an didn't check the module. They are a waist of time with horrible customer service. Their register says no refunds only store credit but the only good thing is they realized was that they screwed up so bad they should give me my money back. HORRIBLE SHOP read more

I read reviews for most places before I spend money and I have to say I was skeptic about going here because of bad reviews (most were pretty old). I work in customer service and know that you can't please everyone so I thought I'd check it out myself and see what happens. I was impressed with Jessie. He was very knowledgeable about the products. I truly appreciated his expertise in an area I knew nothing about. I had in mind what my son wanted for his car (he picked out everything) and how much I was willing to spend (which I didn't disclose) and I ended up paying less than what I expected for the quality of products. The install guys did a good job, sounds great, no wires showing. The only thing that needs done is the sub attached because it slides. About 1 week later I got a call from the store manager asking how everything was working. That to me is a huge part of good customer service, the follow up and addressing any problems/concerns. DO NOT GO HERE! Got 2 subs and 2 6x9 with an amp installed. Just wanted something simple and keep the factory head unit. Brought it in and the GPS on my factory navigation worked perfect. Got it back and it didn't. Took me a while to realize since I don't use it often but when I finally did it said I was in Mexico. After trying to figure it out on my own figuring a wrong button was hit, I decided to bring it in. When they pulled it out they showed me a snapped wire and said that had NOTHING to do with the GPS. Looked it up online and it's WAS the GPS wire they snapped. When I told them this they first blamed it on the head unit claiming it has several problems, oh yea a problem that makes the wire snap? Cmon guys. Anyway when that didn't work they blamed it on me that somehow I did it. Truck has only been to the dealer and it's a 2012 I bought in 2013. It NEVER was in for the radio!!! Jose the rep James the managers are not only argumentative but then tried to sell me another unit at full price. Like what kind of scam is this. Called corporate and they said tough luck! The satellite module in my car radio went out. After much bashing of teeth, my husband and I decided to try Audio Express near the house. We had been encouraged by a friend of ours. I don't know what I expected (I was intimidated I guess given my utter lack of electronic ability), but we were pleasantly surprised. Ended up replacing the radio w/ a Kenwood Excelon KDC-598. All the bells and whistles. Our sales rep, Matt, was excellent. He was knowledgeable about the products in the store, patient with me (see above statement in parens...utter lack of...) and friendly. And, the price was pretty darn good as well. All in all a great experience. We have some other audio needs for our motorhome. We will definitely be back. I didn't fill out the "price range" below because you can spend as little or as much as you want here. They are happy to work with your budget. Don't be afraid of being up sold. Called a few days before for pricing, was told it would be $90-$110 and that they do not set appointments, so it is on a first come first serve basis. No problem. I arrive a few days later when they open up at 9am to drop off my car. I go in a speak to one of the employees. I tell them what i need and i am told that it will be $125. Its more than originally quoted, but i say ok and move forward. I let them know i get off of work at 3pm and need it done by then, they say perfect and that should be no problem and they will call me if it is. Also note that there was only maybe 2 other customers there when i arrive. By around noon i called them to just check up on the status and they say that they are bringing my car around to be started on shortly and it should be done right about the time i get off work. I think ok, great! Well come about 2:30pm i am trying to plan my ride back to pick up my car so i call them ahead to make sure its ready to go, and guess what they tell me.... They haven't even started it! No one called me or my boyfriend to let us know (as i specifically asked them to do so if there were any issues). So end result is that i said don't bother starting it now, because i need my car so i can get home from work. i think having a vehicle for 6 hours is plenty of time to get the job done. very disappointed. read more

After years of wanting to replace my worn down factory stereo system I decided to stop by Audio Express on a whim. I discussed wanting a basic stereo package with four speakers and also wanted to replace a blown woofer in the rear. We barely went over options when discussions led to financing. I did not require financing and I wasn't finished speaking about my wants. After pointing out a third time that I wanted to replace the rear woofer I was finally given pricing. I agreed, paid, and was told to come in first thing the next day, Sunday. I dropped my keys off at opening, noon, and was told they only needed to finish up one job in the bay then they would be able to complete my order. At 3 pm I was called and informed that they had not even started on my vehicle and they asked if they could keep my vehicle overnight. I declined due to having a job. My only option was to bring it in the next weekend since they needed at least 4 hours to install. So the following Sunday I came in, dropped off my keys and was promised it would get done. After a few hours I received a call that the job was completed so I could come in and a representative would demo the system. As I tried to unlock the driver side door, the actuator did not work. I could not even use the key to unlock the door. Right away the representative made up an excuse that they did not touch the doors and I said, "I hope you did because I bought new speakers along with the stereo." The rep apologized and said he was unaware I also bought speakers. In that case, he should have never opened his mouth and made the excuse that they 'never touched the doors'. I told him I was not leaving until the door lock was fixed since it was in working condition when I left the vehicle with them. My vehicle was taken back to the bay and the door panel opened up. Four techs worked on it; I was taken back there and told that they did not have anything to do with it and it may just be that the actuator needs replacing. After 30 minutes they eventually sprayed WD-40 on the connections and then reassembled the door. After they dispersed one of the techs confessed that the connections were not put together correctly after the install. The tech then drove the vehicle around to the front parking lot and gave me the keys. After all that I was not going to wait for a representative to demo the system since they wasted so much of my time. Luckily they left me with all the boxes and manuals and I was able to figure it out. The system sounds good so far, the door lock works now, but the customer service was severely lacking from the beginning. I realize I should have read reviews beforehand; I will not make the same mistake twice. They only wanted to sell, not listen, make promises then excuses when promises were not fulfilled, and they talked a LOT of hot air. They had my money for a whole week before installing the product and didn't attempt to make any reparations. Bottom line, I will NEVER do business with Audio Express again and I will NEVER recommend anyone use their services. read more
