I've been to all the dealerships locally, this one prompted me to never go to one again. The only positive is the loaner vehicle was nice, otherwise I had to bring it back with the tank full (they reminded me several times to do so) but I realized too late the tank was not full when I received it. It was 3/4 full. Anyway, whatever. $900 later for an oil change and tire alignment there's no "thank you for coming in and have a good day" just handed me my keys and didn't even look at me, say anything at ALL or even acknowledge anything they did to the car or explain the issues they found in person but texted me about with the automated platform. Not only that, I had to remind them and fix the amount they charged me several times because they had a special online. They suggested I fix a gasket, change my brakes and get new tires for a grand total of $5k, yeah, not happening but thanks! Also wanted to note Audi Shrewsbury (probably the better of the dealerships) would actually clean my car inside and out even for simple oil changes. For $900 for an oil change and 5 mins of alignment that would have been nice. I found a better local place where they don't treat me like dumb trash so I have this place to thank for that! read more

After 6 years of being In Honda/Acura products I wanted something a little different. After searching my trusty autotrader app I was intrigued by this 2017 Blue A4 Audi Brookline had on the lot. After looking at the window sticker via the Audi Brookline website I loved the spec and the carfax (also provided) was clean. I made an appointment with the BDC team online who was very responsive in setting up an appointment. Now let me start by saying i've worked in car sales before so I have a good idea of the buying process and coming in knew what I wanted, and knew I was ready to buy, it was just dependent on the dealership experience. I arrived at Audi Brookline after receiving confirmation again for my appointment from the BDC team the morning of. When I arrived, Silvio Santos greeted me and asked if I needed help. I mentioned I was there to see the person from BDC, and he explained that he would be my salesperson. I see some reviews nag about this "transfer" but it's simply just the how the process works. The dealership is brand new, but it's an excellent, clean, and comfortable feeling showroom. All Covid precautions were in place. Silvio was polite, and professional offering me water and then showed me the way to his desk. He confirmed my information in the system and saw I was in for the specific A4 I picked. He politely and efficiently qualified me for the car (just as I had been taught as a salesperson) asking questions about what I was looking for in a car, my budget, credit, etc. the important stuff to make sure we were on the right car. I mostly knew I was, but it was nice that he still went through the motions with me. He pulled the car out for me after evaluating my trade and explained some of the features. I appreciated it, but I was more interested in driving it and he was receptive. I was able to go solo on the test drive, which is probably Covid protocol but it made it easier to get a feel for the car. When it came time for numbers, Silvio was efficient at the desk and came back with a pretty strong offer for my trade on the first pencil. The price of the car was already a pretty good deal and Audi Brookline THANKFULLY doesn't upcharge the $1,000 fee which seems to be the trend. Though the offer was strong, I of course had to attempt a 2nd pencil. I countered with a slightly higher trade value with the condition that i'll sign and take it home. Silvio understood, and after consulting with Pierre, his manger he came back swiftly. Silvio explained that the initial offer was strong and it was their best. I was comfortable with that and decided to take the deal. After about a 30 min wait (pretty fast for a Saturday) I met with Alex in F&I. Alex was polite upon greeting but was a little more aggressive in the office than I would've appreciated. I explained I only needed the extended warranty and wasn't interested in anything else. The simmionz package was no issue but he was appalled when I didn't want GAP. I explained I understood he was doing his job (as everyone should) but I just don't like hard selling. After looking at the payment figures I could tell the rate was a little higher than average but Alex was nice enough to ask me what rate I was looking for and he got me there. Overall, not a bad experience by any means in F&I. Silvio got the car prepped and ready to go, and even assisted in helping transfer over a few items from my trade. After I got it home, I noticed a couple dings and hard scratches that should've been removed. I emailed Silvio, Pierre, and Tim Veiga the GM who were all very responsive in handling the matter. When I brought the car in for inspection a week later, they offered to take care of it and we scheduled an appointment for this coming week. Overall, I expected a good dealership experience out of a luxury brand dealer but I Audi Brookline went above my expectations. From the initial inquiry to post delivery, everyone has been polite, non-pressuring, and it made for a fun car buying experience. DO NOT PURCHASE OR LEASE AN AUDI FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. While I've been very pleased with my Audi, the customer service and overall way this location operates is absolutely unacceptable so if you're in the market for an Audi I highly recommend getting your car from one of the other dozen or so Audi dealerships in the Boston area. I've detailed two terrible experiences I've had with the dealership below, but read through the dozens of other one star reviews here if you need to be convinced. My first experience with the dealership: I had a tire blow out on a highway and when I went to change the tire, I came to find out that the tool kit that was provided with car doesn't have the proper tool to remove the hubcap, so I couldn't replace the tire myself and had to call Audi's roadside assistance. I waited over 4 hours in a parking lot for a tow truck to get the car. When I finally got to Audi I met with Drew, dealership's service representative. I don't think I've ever met anyone in the customer service industry that harbors as much contempt for customers as Drew. When I explained to Drew that I couldn't change the tire myself because they hadn't put the proper tool in the car's tool kit, which lead to me waiting 4+ hours on a Saturday afternoon to deal with the car, Drew just said "that sucks". I asked Drew if they had a loaner that I could use to get home while the car was being repaired and he said they were out of loaners so I asked how to get home he said "take an uber I guess. That's what I do." I told Drew it was clear that he didn't care about my situation so I'd be reporting the incident and he told me "Sure, do what you gotta do." Two days after dropping the car off I'd heard nothing from Audi so I called around 1:30 pm and was told the car was being worked on and that they'd be calling me back. No one called me back. At 5:30 pm, I was emailed an estimate for the repair of the blown tire of $3000+ because they said they needed to repair all of the tires as well as the breaks and brake pads. This is a leased car with $22k miles on it - tires and brake pads have an average life of far in excess of that mileage. We were told we should put in brand new brakes, brake pads and tires because we would be required to get all brand new brakes, brake pads and tires when our lease expired in 6 months. We asked to have only the blown tire repaired and were quoted $350 plus labor for the tire. We located the same tire online for $180 and given the unpleasantness we had experienced in working with the dealership, we wanted to avoid paying the dealership for their steep markup of the item, we arranged to have the tire shipped to them. I checked in to see if the tire had been three days later. Drew answered the phone and when I told him I was checking on the car and tire replacement, he cut me off and said "Haven't seen the tire." I asked him if that meant that it hadn't been delivered and he said "yeah." I checked the tracking and discovered that the tire had been delivered to the dealership over four hours prior to my call. When I told Drew that, he said "Huh, they didn't tell me." I think if I hadn't called to check and see if they'd gotten the tire and asked Drew to make the fix, my car could be sitting in their parking lot for months. My second experience with the dealership: This past October I got an email from an Audi sales representative, Stephanie, saying that the dealership was desperately in need for used 2016 Q5s and that if I turned my car in, I could be put in a new car and pay the same amount that I'm paying now as long as the mileage checked out. At that time my car was roughly 5 thousand miles below where it was scheduled to be. I made an appointment on a Friday afternoon and met with the sales representative. The service team looked at my car while the service representative showed me the new Q5s and offered to give me a test drive which I declined. She then went about "running the numbers" which required her going back and forth with someone in an office for over 20 minutes. When she was finished, she told me that my car was under water and that if I traded my car in, my new payments would be roughly 65% more than they were at that time. I was disappointed by the fact that I'd been mislead by the sales associate and had given up an afternoon to explore the trade-in. I called the sales manager to report the incident and he was overtly disinterested. I could literally hear him typing on a keyboard while he was talking to me and once I told him about my experience he said, in monotone: "Oh, really, I'll have to talk to her about that. Sorry." That was it. Didn't really make me feel like the dealership cared one bit that they'd misled me and wasted a half day of my life. I'm counting the days for my lease to expire and I'm looking forward to bringing my business to a dealership that has at least a little bit of respect and appreciation for their customers. read more

Another Great HC Experience at Audi Brookline During my busy schedule, I started looking for a larger car for my wife but really didn't have enough time to spend at dealerships. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts, I switched brands and started looking into the Audi Q7, very glad I did. While it wasn't our first choice, we are convinced now that it is a much better fit for our needs than we thought. The style and ride are top notch and while not all vehicles are perfect, other than the lack of any center console, this vehicle had the least compromises for us. I have purchased cars exclusively with Herb Chambers for more than 25 years. Like most people I know, buying a car can be a painful experience. That is why I tend to stick with the same brands and salespeople unless they don't have something I want. Steve Boston at MB Natick, Chris Anslono at HC BMW (service dept), Ian Miller, Melissa Steffy and others. Even if I was looking for a different make, I could always count on their recommendations and help if I was going to another HC dealership. These relationships have made buying cars from HC a great experience. When I contacted Audi of Brookline, I initial spoke to Kayla DiPaolo and within a few minutes I knew she was one of those special individuals as the people I mentioned earlier. They had a car I was interested in, I took it for a quick ride, they appraised my trade and then made me an offer that was very aggressive and earned my business on the spot. My sales person, Chris Garvin, who came on after I agreed to the deal, was extremely knowledgeable and a great help getting me through the purchase and delivery process. Horrible experience as a repeat customer. I have bought two vehicles at this location and safe to say i will not be returning and certainly not giving them a penny more to the service department. Very sleazy approach to selling the vehicles. Make sure you really check the vehicle your getting. Pointed out a number of small scratches and communicated that they would need to have them fixed before accepting the vehicle. Asked before picking up the car and was lied to that they were fixed. Sold me a car with 1 key and never stated that the car didn't have a second key. Called the dealership to ask for a second key and refused to supply a key after all the money i have spent here. Kayla is such a joke at this location. Very disrespectful person and with the way she spoke to me. It was shocking. She really showed how she doesn't care about her customers once they get your check. Ahmad was the sales rep. Avoid both of them. Upper mgt take note because you lost a repeat customer. read more

Took my new Audi to get looked at due to check engine light coming on. They stated they needed to get the catalytic converter changed and told me they would need to order the part. I worked with service advisor who told me they would give me loaner car when I brought my car in. Spoke to him a week later and stated part came in, I asked when could bring car in and took over 48 hours to respond, also left voicemail which he never responded to. Spoke to another person over the weekend and stated could i drop the car off, they said would call me back but never did. When the next week came I finally heard back from service advisor by email and said to bring car in this week. I called and after a while finally got to speak to service advisor, I asked about loaner car and said sorry we don't have them for this week, which is very annoying when have to commute around. I finally dropped car off and next day was told car was ready, but was unable to pick car up and told him that I would pick up car tomorrow. When i went today to pick up my car I thought it would be quick 10-15 mins since the car was all ready from yesterday.After 30 mins I asked the desk where my car is and they were shocked and stated I'll check on it. Another 20 mins pass by, still no car and ask again and at this time the lady on the desk gets up and goes I'll look for it. Finally after 1 hour of waiting my car came and the lady goes your car is here, keys inside, no apology for the wait. On my invoice from the car it stated complimentary car wash and/ or vacuum. When I saw my car after leaving the dealership I saw my front mat and side of drivers door was covered with mud, and which was definitely not mine . You expect getting an Audi you would get good service, which I have gotten from other Audi dealerships. So glad I did not come here to buy my car. Terrible experience ever had with any dealership. Had great service experiences with Lexus Watertown, BMW Boston, and Mercedes Boston so I was expecting similar service experience from Audi Brookline. It turns out worst ever. I rarely leave reviews but I'm just so piss off by their disappointing service so I have to speak up. I know it's a super long review please bare with me and choose dealership wisely. Btw, highly recommended the sales guy Silvio if you really want to get an Audi at Audi Brookline. He's super nice and responsive even after the deal was made. 1. First bought a certified pre-owned Q7 (under 3000 mileage) and they promised all scratches will be buffed out. The result is terrible as shown in the pictures. We didn't accept the Q7 in such condition and the manager promised to do a perfect paint job and the paint will look brand new. However, the result is unacceptable too ( paint surface is rough and uneven) so we decided to return the Q7 before even driving it out of the lot. Since we felt bad about Silvio, we decided to go with a brand new Q8. They first said the documentation fee (around $500) and those 2 add on packages "Audi care" and "tire&wheel protection" cannot be refunded as they go with the vehicle. We insisted the return was due to poor job done by Audi Brookline, they promised to refund those two packages($3984 total). We agreed with the non-refundable $500 documentation fee (just trying to be nice and understandable)although the return was caused by Audi Brookline's issue. 2. The return of Q7 is totally due to the poor paint job done by Audi Brookline. Instead of doing it as returned vehicle, Audi Brookline processed it as buy back. I noticed that and asked them but they said it's the same thing as return. I don't wanna cause any trouble to them since to me, it might be linked with their KPI. I didn't take it seriously cause as long as I got the amount I've paid for, I'm fine with those little tricks. 3. The $3984 refund was not received within 30days as promised on the 'We Owe' statement. Purchased Q8 on August 2, received a $1185 check on September 24 by mail. Waited a week for the second check to come but it never did. So i mentioned it at my rescheduled service appointment on September 29 and after 40mins wait, I finally got the second refund check after nearly two months of purchase. 4. Extremely terrible service experience!!! Got told no loaner was available for me on my first appointment sept 22 and rescheduled to sept 29. Got told no loaner is available AGAIN on sept 29's appointment. The service guy said he arranged a special curtesy service just for this special situation: they'll pickup my car at my address and drop off a loaner on Oct 9. I mean this pickup/drop-off curtesy service is available for Mercedes customers since 2020. Not sure why Audi Brookline mentioned it as a special accommodation just for this situation. Hope the upcoming 3rd rescheduled appointment will go well. 5. We bought the Q8 with 3 add-ons: Audi care, tire&wheel protection, and glass coat protection. The service team first blame the loaner issue with the rim service: they said rim service is not qualified a loaner. But when I bought the Q8, I asked specifically whether I'm getting a loaner for all future maintenance services and rim repair service just as Mercedes does and the answer is positive. Before the Q8, I owned a Mercedes GLE with tire&wheel protection add-on. Mercedes Boston has absolutely no problem giving a loaner just for fixing rims under the add-on protection with no additional cost out of pocket. Both Mercedes Boston and Audi Brookline are under Herb Chamber and are German Luxury maker. I can't understand why there's a huge gap between their service experiences. I'm already regretted about the purchase of Audi Q8 instead of another Mercedes vehicle. 6. The traffic sign recognition function on my brand new 2011 Q8 never work since day 1. Didn't noticed that on delivery day. Got back home and played with every single setting and still cannot turn it on. read more

I will never go to this place again and can only recommend no one to go there for any service & parts for an Audi. I ordered a touchup paint almost 3 moths and I called the PARTS department at least 10 times. Every time they said "we will get back to you soon" but they did not. I have called them 2 hours ago and I explained the situation the guy on the phone again, He told me "Please stay on the line ". This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had in my life. Inside the store, everyone was friendly which I do appreciate, but dealing with them over the phone was a nightmare. It took 3 days of me consistently emailing and calling to order one part for my car. By the 3rd day of calling and sending proof of identification, they knew who I was the second I called, meaning that they do know what's going on but are just to lazy or disorganized to put in the time and effort to provide good customer service. I had to call back multiple times since no one was getting back to me. They were very unhelpful overall and more often than not, the parts department wouldn't even answer the phone. Lastly, like I said, they charged me incorrectly and it took them 2 weeks to answer my emails or get on the phone with me. When they did get on the phone I was obviously frustrated, and they were extremely rude, cutting me off and hanging up so quickly I couldn't even get to my questions. They finally did reimburse me & Luckily for the 2 weeks where I was out a decent sum of money I was able to make ends meet, but what if someone else couldn't? Overall a complete lack of respect for their customers money and time. It would be different if they delays were due to reasons out of their control, and if they were responsive during my interaction with them, but the attitude from various people over the phone has led me to believe that select employees at Audi Brookline are overall rude and very disinterested in your as a customer. If you can, I'd drive the extra 15 minutes to a better Audi dealership. read more

Bought a 2013 Audi Q5 in late 2017 with 45,000 miles on it. The salesman pitched me the extended 5-year warranty at the time i was signing the paperwork for around $3500 and being a first-time car buyer with no mechanical skills i went for it. Realized this week it was in fact a 5-year warranty that covers the car only till 60,000 miles. Which given that the average American drives 13,500 miles per year, essentially means it was little more than a 1-year warranty. And so my recent breakdown was not covered, which pissed me off. So i called the dealership today to complain about this sleazy salesman ship and their finance's guy's response was "sorry it is here in the contract in black and white". To which i responded.. "yes and its my fault i missed that. But if i was buying from some sleazy no-name dealership, i probably would have checked all details.. but i wasnt. I was buying from Herb Chambers. And let's be honest.. if I were a sales man selling a 5-year warranty to a customer, would it not be fairly sleazy to not note that it would likely only last a year given the 60,000 mile cap? Yes, it would be a step away from fraud in my view. And maybe this is the shit that used car dealerships did back 5-10 years ago.. but we now live in the day of the internet baby... and i will make you guys pay for this shitty experience." read more

I can't comment about the Sales department, but I wanted to let everyone know about a recent experience I had with their service department. I brought my Audi in for routine maintenance; the Audi "tech" determined that I needed 1) a new oil pan (for $1300!) and to the replace the timing chain ($3,400!!!), because they found that oil had leaked around those areas (the oil pan and the timing chain cover). Since it is EXTREMELY rare to replace a timing CHAIN (not a belt) on a car with 100K miles, I told them I would hold off on that work and get a 2nd opinion. I took the car to a trusted independent Audi/VW mechainc (Brian's Garage in Needham - highly recommended), and they determined that the cause of the oil leak was a failing PCV valve (oil pressure relief valve). This is a fairly straightforward (and very common) repair that only cost me $450 (including a new head gasket and a few other related items). There was NO need to replace the oil pan and/or the timing chain. So, before you listen to the recommendations of some 22 year old tech at Brookline Audi, bring your car to an EXPERIENCED Audi/VW mechanic. You've been warned. I will say this - their service advisors are friendly and helpful, but they don't know much about cars. read more

I normally don't review, but I was disappointed with my experience today to the point that I felt I needed to share to protect others. This is my second time bringing my car in for service in the last 5 months. The first time I came in for an oil change and a recall. Received their comprehensive automobile status report which had all mechanical marks green across the board except my brakes. I elected to not do them that day and overall I had a great experience. My second visit was not as great. 5 months and only 5,000 miles later I brought my car back in for another oil change. Over that period of time, I had my brakes repaired (satisfying their last report). I received their new automobile status report and somehow I went from all green to almost all red in just a short time, including my brakes which were brand new as of 5 weeks ago. All of a sudden I had an oil leak, water leak, and my suspension and motor mounts needed work (quoted $7k+ to complete all repairs). How could my car fall apart in such a short time, and how could my brand new brakes already receive red marks (indicates requires immediate attention)... once I processed this fact pattern I declined any other work as I completely lost trust in this establishment. The only reason I'm giving them two stars is that their customer facing staff are incredibly professional and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend getting a second opinion on any big ticket repairs as there is a chance they are trying to sell you something you really don't need. read more

I went to this dealer for service and more specifically for an oil change. After looking over the car for several hours, I was presented with a rather large quote for multiple fixes that required immediate attention. After declining the services offered, I was finally able to pick up the car with the oil change. What was my surprise when at the first fuel stop I found that the fuel tank cap had been cut off. Whether unintentionally or maliciously, I think I should have been notified. Very disappointed with such an unprofessional attitude. read more

I bought my certified pre owned Audi A3 here- let me say that that was a fantastic experience and I give that experience 5 stars, but this review is for a few service appointments I endured. Staff here just try to rush you out and don't listen to you. I dropped my car off for routine service and was told it would be ready the next day. The end of the next day rolls around, no call. I call them and they tell me they will call me the next day. Again, no call that day so I called them the end of the day and they said it still isn't ready and they don't know when. I asked them for a loaner since my car was already 2 full days late, which they gave me. But still, even with the loaner, NO COMMUNICATION. Why can't you simply update your customers on service turn around times or better manage expectations? Another thing that is a shame- is the service dept. ignores your requests to see if any dings on your car can be covered by the optional insurance you can buy. This makes your sales group look bad- I purchased the small ding insurance and still after two service appointments, no one gets back to me if I am covered. Also beware of the wheel damage insurance- you need to BEG THEM to buff out your scratches. The tire guy is either out, sick, or they don't call him for you. If customers want service and their wheels buffed- you should help them plan this accordingly. Save your time and money and go to Burlington or Norwood for service. read more

Highly recommended for both sales and service. Over the last few days, I've had a few unfortunate issues with my A4, first having it repaired. I've have my cars serviced at Audi Brookline multiple times now, Aramayis in the service dept has been incredible to work with. I ended up trading the car in and purchasing a new one. I worked closely with Pierre and Jose in sales on both trade in and purchase. It was a pleasure working with both of them, responsive over the phone and extremely personable when I went in to finalize the deal. They were transparent and helpful throughout the process. I had an amazingly quick, simple, and satisfying experience at this Audi dealership. I had tried to go to Audi Norwell previously, and it honestly seemed as though they did not want my money or business for some odd reason. I set up on appointment to test drive an A3 that I was interested in. Knew exactly what I wanted and more importantly, what I needed. Rafael was quick to get me in the car at our scheduled time and sent me on my way for a test drive. LOVED the car, and more importantly, loved the idea of being able to drive it without constantly trying to be sold on the car. Returned the car, talked numbers briefly based on a lease special and informed Rafael I would be in touch. Next day, came in, they had the color and combo I wanted, put the down payment, and left as the owner of a new A3 lease. It was the most painless car experience I have ever been part of. Rafael was quick to communicate and knew that I was serious about the car and what I wanted/needed and really was a great intermediary between me and the car itself. The Finance Director Miguel was also very helpful, detailing additional programs available, but without the sales pressure. He had me in and out in 30 minutes or so. Our sales rep, Mike K. was friendly on all counts (but of course, who wouldn't be when you're buying a $60k car from them...). 3. We've brought the car back for routine service a few times and they've always got the job done. 4. When you have to leave your vehicle, they give you crappy (and I mean c-r-a-p-p-y loaner cars - like Chrysler 300's and Ford whatever's) and then CHARGE you for them. I find it pretty shocking that you're servicing a car at a dealership and they don't even give you a same-manufacturer loaner. Which, by the way, the Audi of Westwood DOES. 5. We've had to bring the car back twice for the the same issue - for two different problems - two things that were supposedly fixed but that came back again and required bigger/additional fixes. 6. Dave in the service department has been absolutely amazing on our most recent visit, swapping out our winter tires and putting the summers on at no cost to us, because there were issues with the tires coming off. So, a little negative, a little positive, and where does that put us? Right in the middle, where my review sits. With additional visits, my review could get pushed either way. The thing is, you don't have much of a choice when you're under warranty and get free service. So what would my other options be? No sense in b*tching about service when it's the only choice you have. And maybe that's exactly why service here is so hot and cold.... read more

We leased a new 2020 Q3 from Stephanie Bagu and Kayla DiPaolo. It was a delightful experience. They went out of their way to locate a vehicle that matched our requirement. We cannot more strongly recommend that you talk with them if you are in the market for a new Audi SUV. We also looked at a BMW X1 and MB GLA 250. We love the modern and high tech virtual cockpit. Believe the bad reviews people. This dealership is an embarrassment to Audi. I own a 2012 A7 which has custom modifications - chip, exhaust, rims, suspension, etc. (Which I was very up front with the dealership on, including instructions not to reset my ECU) I took the car to Audi Brookline for a) an oil change b) to get my back-up camera, which all of a sudden had stopped working, fixed, c) to put on new tires and get them balanced and d) for a general evaluation. It was the location closest to me and was easily accessible to work via T. I saw the poor reviews here but decided to take the chance. Huge mistake. Dropped the car off Monday morning. I had shipped tires to the dealer the Friday beforehand, as previously agreed to. After two days, I hadn't even received so much as a phone call. No "we're working on it, here's an update so far", nothing. I called and left a message on the morning of Day 2. Heard absolutely nothing. Called again Afternoon of Day 2. No call back. Finally called again morning of Day 3 and luckily caught the rep assigned to my car. When questioned as to why i had not been called back, all they could say was "sorry, we have been busy". When I did talk to them, they said they were still working on the car and had not found the issue with the backup camera. He also said that "a bunch of wires were screwed up" in the car but when pressed for details said he would have to talk with the tech again about it. Finally, they told me there was an issue with a rear control arm and a bolt being stuck in it that had broken off from my sway bar. For the next few days, contact was slightly better, primarily over text. Still far less than I have experienced at other Audi dealerships like Audi Westwood, but better. Even so, they could not find the issue with the camera. the excuse given was that they could not run the full diagnostics because it would reset the ECU, which I did not want done [more on that later]. In any case, week 1 came and went. No car. Early the following week, they call and tell me that there is basically nothing more they can do without running full diagnostics. Camera still doesn't work, but hey, they put the tires on at least and did the oil change. I decide to cut my losses here and just take the car back and try elsewhere. Agree to pick it up on Wednesday afternoon. Recall, that is a full week and a half after it was dropped off. I pay my $643, including $300+ for diagnostics that they did which did not result in any sort of fix. Don't really complain about is as I give them the benefit of the doubt for taking time to look at it. I arrive on Wednesday and get the car. Seeing as though this is a supposedly reputable dealership, I don't do the 100 point checklist car examination that I would do at some shady collision place. Big mistake. I stop at a grocery store 5 minutes down the road and notice that there is a huge gash in my brand new tire as well as significant paint that has been scraped off of my rims. So I text the rep the pictures and ask him how it is that they neglected to tell me about this when I picked up the car. No real answer, but "they will make it right". So I have to waste yet more time and drop the car back off to get a new tire put on and the rim re-finished. The FIRST question I ask Steve Lafond, their service manager before agreeing to go through this incremental hassle is "Do you have this tire in stock and will it be ready asap?". The answer was an unequivocal, "ABSOLUTELY 100% Guaranteed". Fine, I go back early the next week (Monday I believe) and drop the car off. I hear nothing for a few days. Call on Wednesday, am told wheel is currently being refinished. Then, on Friday afternoon at 4:45 pm, I get a call from Steve Lafond. He proceeds to tell me that they don't have the tire in stock and that the earliest it will be there will be the following Monday, after 3 pm. I proceed to tell Mr. Lafond that this was literally the first question I asked him before agreeing to let them "make it right" and ask him what his explanation is. He then gets pissy and tells me that "he doesn't like making these phone calls either". What? You are the service manager of the dealership buddy, it's your job. I FINALLY pick the car up the next Monday, at 5:30pm. Ask to speak to Steve. Ask him what he intends to do to compensate me for the wasted time, and he literally says "because we already spent a lot of time looking at the car, we aren't offering you anything". Incredulous, but not wanting to waste any more time, I leave, having paid $643 for nothing (and by the way paying them $500+ to service my girlfriend's SQ5 the same week). The following week, I take the car to Javier @ Boston Automotive in Allston, who proceeds to fix the camera issue (without ECU reset), replace the control arm, all while miraculously doing it within 5 days and COMMUNICATING with me throughout. I'm a car enthusiast and I've been going to Audi Brookline for about 5 years since I bought my first A4. I will tell you that for the first several years that I dealt with this dealership it was frankly terrible. TERRIBLE. (I honestly couldn't write terrible large enough) They were disorganized, the sales people would turn their nose up at me, seemingly as if they thought because I was a young casually dressed guy that I couldn't afford their product. That was the impression I got, suffice to say the attitude was snotty. I took my car there for service a several times, and became immediately disappointed by the lack of customer service and attention to detail. So for the next couple years I had my car serviced at other dealers. I decided it was time for a new car this past spring and being an enthusiast, I researched and knew exactly the car I wanted. Every option, color etc. Initially I emailed a few dealers and was getting quotes from all over. I ended up reaching out to a friend who just bought a new Audi and they referred my to Scott Pann at Audi Brookline. Hesitant, I reached out to Scott directly. I had already found a car at another dealer far away that matched my exact specs, so I told Scott I wanted that specific car. NEVER have I had such a pleasant buying experience. He was responsive and intelligent. He knew the product and made sure that he educated me on anything I didn't know. I negotiated what I felt was a great deal, without pain or aggravation or back and forth between some hidden manager. Scott made this purchase effortless, and this is coming from a guy who's been in sales for 11+ years. If you're shopping for an Audi, go meet Scott. I'm a picky guy, I drive a nice car because I expect it to perform to the highest standard. I ended up having a few issues with my new vehicle which needed servicing. Recalling my previous experiences with Audi Brookline service, I was extremely hesitant to go to them again. But out of convenience I figured, what the hell. Scott even setup the appointment for me. My first service visit was a breeze, I met my advisor Drew Paglia and I think he immediately understood that I'm a nit-pick. But it didn't phase him, and he has on several occasions gone well above and beyond what I would expect his usual job duties to be. Working with Drew has changed my entire car servicing experience, I no longer worry about arguing with the techs about issues(their are advisors that still work there who I had altercations with in the past). He checks if I need a loaner car, and has one waiting when I do. Drew has advocated for me in getting issues taken care of with attention to detail and friendly courteous customer service. He communicates with precision and makes sure that when I leave that dealer I'm satisfied. Honestly GIVE THIS GUY A RAISE. I have a lot of friends who are Audi drivers, I would say 99% of them have told me to go to another dealer for service and sales. Based on my experiences in years past at Audi Brookline I would have completely agreed. But now after working with both a fantastic sales person and a dedicated service advisor, this dealership has won back my business. I want to make very clear, my opinion and experience at this dealer is a result of two people who have honed their skills to provide the experience that should be had by every customer. I generally don't write "negative" reviews but my poor experience buying a used car at Herb Chambers Audi Brookline may help others have a smoother transaction. Their car prep lacked attention that should have found a lurking defect, small, annoying details were not taken care of, and a bit of cruddy, typical "used-car" salesperson-ship. Not a big purchase, but at $20,000+, I expected a full prep & check over, and a more straightforward deal with what they refer to as their "Smart "price. That was not the case. (Unfortunately, I rate myself 1-2 stars as well. Given great experiences with Herb Chambers BMW sales and service, and the pandemic buying context, I mistakenly skipped the independent pre-purchase inspection that I always get and that would have nixed this purchase). Purchasing. Smart price? not really...instead old-fashioned used car sales tactics? Right in the middle of a few emails with internet manager Sasha, she informed me of "a price increase today of $1,000 after doing another market analysis." That is, at the very moment that we were discussing the car, Herb Chambers Audi raised the price above the "Smart" price that was actrually listed on their website!! Not even, we'll be raising the price, please let me know if you're interested at the current price... After expressing that this put a bad taste in my mouth, I, unsurprisingly received an email with the old, I talked to my manager routine from Sasha: "I reached out to my General Manager and we can honor the original price today. The new price will go live tomorrow. " Apparently rushing to get a new price up online, which they actually did later that day, even after i agreed to buy the car (not "tomorrow" as noted by Sasha), they sloppily updated the mileage of the car online to 744,474 (about 250,000 miles a year)...and couldn't be troubled to fix the error after it was pointed out. Were these quick & butchered changes just a tactic for the benefit of this sale? I didn't see any other of their cars get a new analysis price change...? At that point, I'd usually see the bad signs and not do business with these folks. But, to get a car purchase out of the way during the pandemic, I went forward, hopeful that Herb Chambers Audi was just messing around with their so called "Smart" pricing, and that they could actually inspect & prep a car. Wrong assumptions. Three days with car, three hassles. In reverse. Very Large hassle. Day three. Can't we just drive the car? No An Error Transmission warning light comes on! Stop the car... I later learn from VW Service that that the Error code had been intermittent going back awhile, as seen in the stored codes. It was not a new issue that just cropped up. So, Audi Brookline either did not check the stored codes as part of the prep, or they ignored what they found. Roman, used car manager, chose not to respond to simple queries asking if checking the stored codes was part of the prep process. Roman did, however, assure me that warning/error lights are not uncommon after they sell cars. Just the day before, he told me, someone purchased a Jaguar from them, and the check engine light came on after the customer got home into New Hampshire. Fair enough. It'll happen and not be anyone's fault, just a matter of timing. But it'll happen far more frequently when not carrying out the due diligence of checking and dealing with issues indicated in the stored codes. The repair was handled fine. Audi's Service had to pass the transmission repair on to Boston VW, where they paid for the fix (rather than my returning the car for a full refund). However, the repair took over a week; Audi would not provide a needed loaner; the repair was cleaning up a pre-existing defect. Examples of annoying details not taken care of. Their Claim; "Function Test all Options & Accessories." False. - Day one. Can't I just drive home without a hassle? No. A couple of minutes from the dealership and the Tire Pressure Monitor light comes on. I'm told that I should reset the system. You have to check the air pressure first to ensure an accurate baseline. I do, adjusting each tire, then read the manual and do the reset. Not a big deal at all, but why not just do it right so that the new owner can get home without having to then contact the dealer. - Day two. Can't my wife just start the car. No She gave up after ten minutes trying. The key fob was non-functional. The claim that all options and accessories are tested is simply false. According to Roman, all keys might be tested if the Service gets them, but it's not part of their standard practice. (After the repair by VW, the key was made functional, as requested) Other small details as well. If not for an accumulation of hassles across a number of facets, I could have given two stars. Kudos to Jose, Brand Specialist, for making the purchasing process easy and for helping with the follow ups. read more

So... This is a review of the sales team, not service which has been great. Editing my review based on the response from the manager below. I bought a car from them 5 years ago, had it serviced by them, etc. They had the full service record, know the car. It was involved in an accident last year, was completely fixed and I brought it in to be assessed by them in July of 2018 after it had been repaired. The carfax then, and now, showed frame damage. I have a written estimate from their branch manager for $19,200. I decided not to trade in at the time. This year I again decided to look for a new car, maybe an Audi. Took my car to them, they offered me $7000. Seemed really low, and I was shocked that it was $12,000 less than last year after having driven about 7,000 miles. So I took it to a Land Rover dealer. They offered me $14000 (after reviewing the carfax and seeing that it had frame damage) Then a VW dealer. $11000 (after reviewing the carfax and seeing that it had frame damage). Now you could argue that the other dealers were given me a higher price because the deal they were offering on the new car was bad. For the Land Rover dealer, sure. For the VW dealer, it was a great deal. Ultimately I sold the car to CarMax for $14000 (they also reviewed the carfax and saw it had frame damage), no haggling, no fuss. Twice what the Audi dealer offered me. And.... The guy who made the super low ball offer was dismissive, borderline rude. Now to the response below from the dealership - the implication of the response below is that I am misrepresenting the dealership - that I was not pointing out my car had frame damage and that somehow I was being dishonest. First off, each and every person who looked at the car had information about the frame damage and the fact remains that I was offered more by every other dealer/purchaser and none of them were Audi dealers, and none of them were the dealer who sold me the car, and none of them were the dealer that I religiously took my car to be serviced at - there was no prior relationship. Secondly the same dealership offered me $19,200 a year ago, after seeing the frame damage, Finally, what a totally stupid, ill thought out response, entirely lacking any kind of acknowledgement that they might have messed up, or that they had any interest in customer service or relationships - the dealership had the opportunity through this review to reach out and show what type of organization they were, and they did. So, short version, look to other Audi dealers first. There is no relationship with this dealership, none. (Ended up with a VW from Kelly VW in Danvers. I got an inspection done on a leased car from this dealership before I had to turn it in. The third party company who did the inspection wanted to charge me $900 for wear-and-tear damage that I thought was ultra picky. Plus a $350 disposition fee unless I continued to lease or buy another car from the dealership. I wanted someone from the Audi Brookline to be an advocate to this company (Audi Financial Services) to say some of the charges were unfair. At first no one really stepped up to the plate to do that. It was certainly above and beyond their regular duties to people who are no doubt, very busy. I finally talked to Tim Viega, the General Manager, and he finally did that and got me a pretty good discount. My feeling is that any business can screw up - but if they correct their misstep I will forgive them and they'll get my business back. This is what happened to me here. read more

I have a built-in default to optimism; I start out thinking that I'll have a good transactional experience at car dealers. This was not to be the case with Audi Brookline. Bear with me. It took four phone calls to set up an appointment to have my oil changed. Four. When I called to confirm the first three times, they didn't know who I was. I had even given them my VIN to make the first appointment. Strike one. On the fourth attempt, the "consultant" told me that I would receive a confirmation email. That didn't happen. (Although I did receive a confirmation text the day before.) Strike two. I dropped my car off, amidst the construction and temporary facilities (not their fault) and was treated well by the advisors. Although filled with ashes and trash, a loaner was waiting, as requested. I was told I'd be called later in the day with an estimated time to pick it up. I was, in fact, called but it was to recommend additional services. What started out as an oil change was now estimated to be $2800, $1500 of which was not "really required now" but I could do it if I want. Strike three. My "advisor" told me he was going to call me to tell me that the car was ready. By 4:30 pm, I had to call and ask. It was ready. I leave for the dealership to get there before it closes. Forty minutes later, when I'm three miles away, he calls to tell me it was ready. (I needed to make sure to get there before closing time at 7:00 pm) When I arrived, another advisor handed me the stack of paper with the completed and suggested work, told me the total with no explanation of what was done. I asked my advisor about the charges and the work and he explained it all. It was interesting to note that they considered one of the tires to be in fair condition. All four tires are brand new. The next day, I noted a charge on my credit card for 1.9 gallons of gas for the loaner. I drove the car 20 miles and returned it exactly as I found it. If the A5 really gets 10 mpg, they need to rethink their engineering and sales pitch. I called and asked for the money to be refunded and they assured me it would be credited back to me. Summary. Dealerships make their money on maintenance. I told this dealership that I was a new customer, giving them every chance to make a good first impression. They blew that opportunity. Between the poor scheduling practices, poor telephone response (lots of unanswered lines..) and the overall experience, I walked away with a lack of trust. I don't, in any respect, feel that this company looks out for the customer. Rather, they look out for themselves at the customer's expense. Yes, they should make money but it should be earned, not fleeced. It's easy to buy a car. In terms of car ownership, this is a snapshot. You and your car spend the rest of the relationship in the service department. The showroom has hot coffee. The sales people take every opportunity to make sure you're comfortable right until you sign the paperwork. That's the point when they stop answering your phone calls. It's more important to start with the service department, see how they work and then decide if this is where you want to invest your time and money. Sadly, Audi Brookline is just another car dealer that is in it for themselves. I will not consider using them again. read more

Super average dealership. Customer service was average. Quite disappointing that we called in with all our information beforehand bc we knew exactly what we wanted. They still made us wait the entire afternoon (waiting on the finance guy) literally spent 5 hours in the temp portable. Super uncomfortable, super crowded. No coffee or snacks, no updates on timing. It really sucks for families who have to take an entire day out of their schedules (think baby naps meals kids activities) on a Saturday bc things are not streamlined. Then we waited an additional 5 days to get the car. The one perk was that they delivered the car to our home. read more

Avoid! This location is very bad. I'll start off by stating that the front desk staff are nice and informative. We brought our A4 into the shop after the check engine light came on. A few days later we were told the problem had been fixed and the car was good to go. The front desk informed us they were going to bill us $85.00 for the service since the part they fixed was under warranty. Before we left, one of the front desk employees said we did not need to pay the fee since everything was covered under warranty. The next day the service engine light came back on. And again we made the trip back to this location for them to take a look at it. The front desk this time changed their minds and asked us for the $85.00 from the last visit. After a more thorough look, the mechanic found out there was carbon built up inside the engine block and it needed to be cleaned out. ( Previous owner decided it was a good idea to use low grade fuel ) The car was in the shop for around a week in a half to two weeks. Finally, we got the phone call that the car was fixed and ready to be picked up. This is where we have come up with one star and bad review. As we were pulling into the dealership in the rental car they provided to us, we see our car being driven out of the lot onto Brookline Ave at full speed. When I say full speed...I mean tires almost peeling out and almost redlining the RPM's. This is a manual transmission car. To add to the shocking sight we just saw, the driver decided to weave around traffic while continuing to accelerate and cutting off traffic. Imagine if you were in our shoes. How it would feel if you trusted a certified dealership to work on your car only to find out A) they don't fix this issue the first time , and B) they treat your car like a race car and drive it irresponsibly and reckless. And furthermore, what else is going on that we don't see. Audi is a high end brand and this definitely is not the kind of serve we should expect from a certified dealership. This is the last time we will bring our Audi to the Brookline dealer. We have in the past gone up to Peabody for our car services and will now make that our prime location. The customer service and maintenance up in Peabody is outstanding and reliable. read more

My interaction with the salesman today was completely ridiculous. It was like I was on a completely different planet. Me: I'm interested in the Q5. Salesman: We don't have any to show you. Me: (staring at a new Q5 out the window). What's that? Salesman: That's the 3.2 Q5. You didn't say you wanted to see that car. Me: I just said I wanted to look at a Q5. Salesman: But there's the 2.0 or 3.2. You didn't say you wanted to see the 3.2. Me: Fine, I want to see the 3.2. Salesman: Well, that car has been driven by so many people, buttons have been pressed, settings changed around that I feel sorry for it. All the batteries in the showroom cars are drained from everyone touching them. I feel sorry for this car. Me: Fine, if you feel sorry for the car, I can take my business elsewhere.... Salesman: Mam, please don't take that the wrong way. It's just that we only have one Q5 and everyone has been touching it. You can't even get one for 90 days. Here's a sales sheet with the prices on it but it's printed in small font because you're not really supposed to have it. Seriously?? Do you want to sell me a car or not? I then turn around, see another Q5 but I'm not allowed to touch that one either because it has summer tires on it. They won't be getting my business anytime soon. If this is representative of their sales staff, I don't even want to know what their service department is like. UPDATE: In response to Steve's comment. I'm not sure how I can be unfair given this conversation was essentially verbatim of my interaction with the salesman. I have since visited Bernardi Audi and they seemed to have it together. I also visited Mercedes of Westwood and they were very professional and appropriate. Bottom line is I couldn't carry on a linear logical conversation with your salesman and it definitely wasn't me. If I buy an Audi, I'm going elsewhere and after perusing the reviews on Yelp, it appears that my opinion is the norm. read more

The sales rep was completely uninterested, told us flat out we would not find what we were looking for within our budget and when, after a lot of asking on our part, we realized there was a potential car for us in their lot, he merely pointed to it from his window. no option to test drive, not even the chance to look at it up close. we walked straight out. Found an independant luxury dealer online and bought our gorgeous car from him within a week. Unfortunately we still come here for our repairs/maintenance because it was the closest one, and have to deal with the VERY rude sales reps. Only the actual mechanics are nice. The Audi is a fabulous car. I love mine so much I was in the market to upgrade and buy a new one this year. That was until my recent experience at Audi of Brookline Service department. To make a long story short, I was given the run around and ignored. I took my car into be serviced and was promised to have it back by late afternoon. By late afternoon I was told they didn't have a needed part and it would take 4 days to get. They offered me a loaner car in the interim, even though it is ridiculous that they didn't have the spare part and it would take 4 days to bring it in (Boston isn't a backwater town and haven't they heard of FedEx?). Also the fact that they didn't even let me know this until late in the afternoon makes me think they didn't even look at the car all day until that point. Still, I didn't make a fuss, went all the way back to the dealer to pick up the loaner, an extra inconvenience I had to put up with. Follow that with the day the car was suppose to be ready, no one phoned me to let me know. And I called 4 times at different points throughout the day to ask. Left messages, and not one person got back to me. Not one. Now, Audi is a good brand and I expect good customer service, especially at these prices. Especially since I bought the car with Audi of Brookline! Yet no one got back to me to let me know I could pick up my car. A day later, keeping my car an extra day and adding yet more inconvenience, someone finally bothered to call. I don't know if the people who work in the service department are stupid or just plain lazy, but because they don't value me as a customer I doubt I will be buying another Audi again. read more
