As someone who loves lemon, I had high expectations, but once again it was bland and forgettable. Since this is a bakery, I also tried a fresh croissant and asked for it to be warmed. The staff accommodated the request, and it smelled incredible. It was warm, light, and flaky--but sadly, the flavor fell flat. A light brushing of butter on top would have gone a long way. For me, this is strike two. Unfortunately, Lilla Vanilla just isn't worth the money or the calories. Based on my experience--mediocre service on the first visit, bland and overpriced featured items on the second, and only neutral-to-slightly-positive notes on the croissant--I'd rate it 2 out of 5 . It had a orange mandarin jam center covered with a vanilla cream layer. I didn't really care too much for the chocolate rice crisp bottom layer. The leaves were maybe peppermint though if it was mint then that would make the whole dish edible. The mango dessert was sweeter than the orange one. The mango jam filling was sweet and had a few pieces of mango that were a bit sour but didn't take away from the overall sweet mango flavor. The cream covering the jam must've also been mango flavored. I really liked the mushroom suisse! I reheated it in the microwave for a bit before eating it. I loved the crispy exterior as it contrasted well with the softness of the puff pastry middle. The mushroom filling was also tasty as it reminded me a bit of cream of mushroom soup.
