Attic Star by far truly does deserve a 5 star rating! Our job was huge... the attic hadn't been cleaned in over 20 years and was infiltrated with mouse and rat feces and filled with very old blown in insulation that was truly disgusting. It is now cleaner than clean, thoroughly disinfected with all new layers of R30 insulation. We did have a few snags on the job however as they occurred Joy was phenomenal assuring us that everything would work out and we'd be happy...he was so right it did and we we're extremely happy. His workers were pleasant, quiet, thoroughly consciousness and consistent. Both my husband and I did several hands on checks while the work was in progress they had no problems they welcomed us to oversee the work being done more than willing to correct anything we weren't comfortable with. In my opinion Joy and Liron are the backbone of the company they are caring and consciousness human beings not hard driven sales reps. Joy is pleasant, patient, kind, considered, and very efficient. Likewise the estimator Liron was kind and pleasant, after viewing the job he sat down and chatted with us no BS no pressure even before we had made a commitment to go with his company so unlike a few of the other companies I had called in for bids...just straight forward and above all fair! After we had committed and signed I had tons of questions... he answered every single one thoroughly and believe me this was challenging for him because at the time I was having a severe hearing loss and he could not have be kinder nor more patient taking the time to repeat himself to my complete satisfaction. He also threw in a few extras and his workers complied. And above all there was NO pressure at all about writing a review like I had read in some of the previous reviews. I do not usually write review for the contractor. But I feel obligated to write this for Attic Star. I am very happy I found this company to do the attic clean, insulation replacement and rodent proof for our house. I made couple of phone call to try to get quote. Attic Star is the only company which I can speak to a person, instead of a machine to leave a message, to make the appointment. The appointment was scheduled promptly and Ron came to perform the estimation. Ron is extremely nice and patient. He explained a lot of details and walked me through each break down of the estimation. Although I only request to do the attic work, Ron offered to sanitize the crawl space (included in attic work) to ensure complete rodent proof for entire property. Because of Ron's professional attitude, I signed contract instantly without trying to get additional quote. On the day of work, Joy and his team came on time and did a thorough work within a day. Joy is a very careful and skillful technician. He noticed that the joists in the attic were moving and asked team to pay special attention. Joy also did careful inspection of entire house and showed me potential entries in places where are not easily accessible. Joy put the mesh on all roof vents and sealed all possible entries. Joy and his team did an excellent work in removing the debris/old insulation, sanitizing the attic and crawl space, blowing in new insulation and sealing all possible entries. The whole work area was kept clean throughout the work! In summary, Attic Star offered fair price, skillful working team with good attitude, and excellent work on the project. i am very appreciative of the high level of integrity I experienced from Joseph, and his boss Dave and give them top ratings. I initially called Attic Star because we had a dead rat decaying in our car which we wanted removed. I found Joseph intially rather pushy about the price, which seemd quite high, but Joseph came down somewhat with his estimate, and very much wanted the odious job of purging our car of the rat, so, desperately wanting the rat removed, I relented. When after an hour's work the rat proved unlocatable (deeply hidden in some unreachable area, no doubt), but I was still charged full price - $325 - I was quite upset. But Joseph and Dave both wanted to make things right with me, and so Joseph came back and cleaned all of my ducts in our very large Victorian for no charge - and these ducts had not been cleaned for years. When I asked that they not use the Lysol spray, they were a bit surprised, but fully honored my request. They did a top job, and were very respectful of being in the intimacy of my home. (Joseph also continued to try to find the rat in the car, but that task, i am afraid, is simply impossible without removing the entire dashboard of the car - a task only for an experienced automechanic, not a pest-control service.) In sum, I am quite impressed by the high level of integrity that Joseph's return shows both in him and his boss, and am grateful for how they took care of me. My attic was overdue for new insulation (original was 50+ years old) and rodent proofing (judging by frequent scurrying noises overhead). I found Attic Star on Yelp and gave them a call. Daniel came out for a free inspection, thoroughly explained their process, and gave me a fair quote for the work. Zabi, Manuel, Javier, and Manuel arrived punctually and were courteous and willing to accommodate my requests regarding the work to be done. Despite the hot weather, poor air quality, and far more old insulation to be removed than originally expected, they completed the project in one day as promised and cleaned up the area nicely afterwards. Zabi patiently answered all of my questions throughout the day, which I really appreciated. I have additional work scheduled for a later date, but so far I am quite happy with their work quality and professionalism. Update: A week after Attic Star installed new insulation in my attic, they returned to install a new air duct system after prior asbestos/old duct removal. Just like before, Zabi, Bernabe, and Joel were polite, meticulous in their work, and accommodating of customer requests. My new air duct system is now neatly arranged to avoid obstructing access and movement in the attic (if/when necessary in the future). Zabi and Chuck also patiently helped me to sort out a misunderstanding on my part re: the invoice. I truly appreciate how customer-friendly they have been from beginning to end. I was extremely satisfied with the efficiency, care and professionalism Sean and his work team exercised in the replacement of our attic insulation. They were right on time to start on what was an intense day of work. The whole group of 5-7 people ( more support came later in the day) went the extra mile in addressing the leaks in our attic, carefully removing our insulation and cleaning up after the work was completed. The team worked non-stop from 9am to roughly 6:30PM! The team did a nice job of cleaning up at the end of the work They also performed a survey of the crawlspace under our home and gave me an all clear on the presence of vermin that could generate future problems. Sean was a wonderful work supervisor and leader whom I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with. I also appreciated the final walk through review where Sean pointed out where and what I needed to look for in the future in terms of problems associated with the rats, which can get through the smallest openings in the attic area. Kudos to Sean and his team. I would not hesitate to use their services again or recommend them to my friends. Although I am writing this review immediately after the completion of the work, I feel confident that our new insulation will greatly improve the health quality and efficiency of our home environment. I feel that the work was well worth the price quoted by Ron and watching these guys work was one of the most enjoyable contractor experiences I've had in a long time. I had rat droppings in my kitchen and dinning room. I do not quite understand , as I am so clean about my food, home,kitchen and everything else!!!! I did not know why it did happen to my home!!!!! So I contacted Attic Pro to find a solution. I met Ron. He is friendly, polite and soft spoken. He convinced me that his team would do a great job to control rats in sealing entrance ports ,repairs the cracks,holes and a new insulation recommended. On the service date,Attic Star has definitely done all those promises. The team of four young men came on time as promised. They are polite; especially their lead man (Sean) is well -mannered, soft-spoken. They paid respect to my home - took off their shoes before entering my home. As they promised me, Shaun did seal my kitchen wall with mesh wire behind my oven. They protected my home,furniture well with paddings and covering before their attic job. I had Attic Star come out to my home to first give an estimate on attic clean-up, hole sealing, insulation removal and replacement. The home needed to have this insulation upgrade. I had estimates from other companies and I ultimately went with this company. I was impressed with their knowledge and expertise of HVAC systems in general and insulation codes. They did an incredible job removing and replacing the insulation up to the current code. They wrapped up the attic pipes and sealed holes. I was impressed at the cleanliness and thoroughness of their entire operation. Everything was left immaculate, and the attic was amazing. I couldn't believe how little insulation was there before they started and the entire attic was packed with insulation after they finished. The attic is now all neat and very well done with up-to-code insulation. I'm sure my HVAC monthly costs will go lower now after this upgrade. I will surely use this company again. Sean was the project lead for my job and he did a sterling job at organizing and coordinating the project. There were several workers onsite, and all of them were experts at the job. Ron came out and provided an estimate for 1350 sq foot removal of old blown insulation and also provided an estimate for installation of R30 rolled insulation. Ron's personality brings with it a sense of confidence and humility. Very easy to discuss expectations and issues of the work to be performed. I felt the cost of both removal and installation of replacement material were both affordable and reasonable. To my surprise Ron also performed jobs and did not only sell them. Ron's & crew arrived on time, set up equipment, and began work. The crew worked throughout the day with only one meal break. The two Spanish / English speaking individuals were both polite and had only one thing in mind- lets get to work. I have never seen two individuals so single focused and intent on performing their work. Ron and his crew finished the large job in a reasonable and expected time frame. Crew member repaired attic vent as promised.They vacuumed the garage after to clean up loose material. They removed all old materials and checked the driveway for anything that remained.I had dreamed about having this work done for many years. After discovering a mouse in our house, we hired Attic Star to clean our oven, the floor in our kitchen closet and underneath of our refrigerator where the rodent had made a mess. The mouse had made a home for himself in the insulation of our oven which resulted in a terrible odor being emitted from the appliance while in use. We had hoped to have Attic Star take apart and clean the oven but the representative seemed to think that spraying a bleach solution into the appliance would eliminate the odor. The problem was, unfortunately, not resolved and the oven had to be replaced. The cleaning that was done in the closet and under the refrigerator did, however, eliminate the odor coming from those areas. Attic Star also inspected the area around our home and sealed places where a mouse could be gaining access. A few days later an exterminator from another company inspected our home and found the hole where the mouse was getting in. I called Attic Star to inform them that the entry point had been found and they came back to seal the area with no hesitation and no additional charge. We haven't seen the mouse since. Wow! All I can is wow! Sean provided an accurate and thorough estimate, then his crew came out to do the job. They had to clear out old insulation and lay down new r-38 insulation. They spent over 12 hours one day and almost 10 hours another day. And from start to finish they were as meticulous and careful as they started. In total they must have removed over 40 bags worth of junk. Sean was professional, empathetic, genuine, funny, and was extremely detail oriented. He even went to the level ensuring the glue on tape left behind on the hardwood floor was thoroughly scrubbed. The attic itself was completely transformed. When I provided suggestions or asked questions he was always professional and willing. I really think he only cared about 2 things: 1) a perfect clean up job (yes perfect) 2) happy customers I would whole heatedly recommend Sean and crew to anyone. Don't look elsewhere even if are saving a few hundred bucks. I wish I had another dirty attic so I can hire Sean. Great job. Its rare I come across any individual and team like this in any trade. I favored Attic Star Company for all others for their professionalism and good manners. Ron didn't just give me rough estimate, but went by himself on the attic, putting on all required protection before he entered the house. Then he explained in details what did he found there and what they are going to do, also what kind of insulation material is better to use. Then we negotiated the price and set the most convenient date for us. Sean with his team arrived 1 hour prior to the set time, that is was even better because the cleaning took a long time. He asked me what would be the best way to install the hoses and after I showed him they put protective plastic liner on the floor and on the wall to protect them from the debris and scratches. The cleaning, rodent protection, disinfection and new installation took about 10 hours. After that they cleaned thoroughly entire area from dust and debris living my room clean as it was. Perfect job, very attentive, nice and professional people. I would love to use their service in the future. We called on Attic Star to do a full clean-out out of our attic, including removal of old insulation, patching up holes that rodents, etc. had been using, and disinfecting the surfaces from rodent droppings as well as a clean out of our crawlspace and HVAC system. Ron and his crew were efficient and thorough throughout the process. During the bid process he explained everything in detail and showed pictures of the current state of our attic (which needed a lot of attention). He explained the entire process step by step and, during the job, he made good on his word to show me the various stages along the way and the work that had been done. They made sure to protect our floors, doors, walls, etc from any potential damage/dirt and cleaned up after they were done. The only drawback to the entire process was the unnecessary pressure to sign the bid and write a review both on the spot and after the service. These were unnecessary tactics for a company that prides itself on its reputation. Allow the customer some space. Let me start by saying that Somi is not only a great contractor , but he is a good person. He tells it to you straight, is up front and honest and stands by his word and his work. About a 2 years ago we discovered Somi and requested an estimate on an addition to our house, at the time we weren't quite ready to make a move, but Somi still gave us his time and attention, over the next year we called him with different requests and modifications to our initial project and not once did he seem annoyed. Fast forward a year and we were finally in a position to make a move. We hired them because I had a problem with my air conditioning, and in that process realized I had to install attic insulation as well. Shon and his team did the attic rodent and old insulation cleaning and removal, followed by replacement of the insulation. They removed all old insulation completely, did the rodent proofing and sanitizing. Unlike most contractors, they thoroughly cleaned their work space and left no trace. They did an excellent and very impressive job. I really liked how Shon kept me informed throughout the entire daylong process. I am lucky to have got the attic cleaning done through Attic Stars. Shaun and his colleague arrived my residence to give an estimate. Shaun went through the procedures involved with the attic cleaning in a step by step and systematic manner. He also took photos and showed us the existing condition of the attic. After which he provided me with an estimate which was reasonable and within my budget. He was able to schedule the work within a week as we needed to get it done soon. Awesome! We bought a new house we knew had "evidence of rodents" in the attic... Then we moved in and realized it was way worse than we thought. We called and got three estimates and Joy from attic star impressed us immediately. Very professional and courteous and THOROUGH! He took great pictures to help us understand where the rats and squirrels were coming in from. And then a very detailed estimate came in lower than both the others. Awesome. Joy and his crew came two days later promptly at 9 and spent a good half hour prepping my house before starting work. They took great care to protect my floors and belongings.
