A NIGHTMARE! This security company was already installed in the house when we purchased it a few years ago so we kept it. After paying for years even tho we've had so-so many issues with alarms going off at all times, complete disconnections..etc, the worst of it all is the costumer service. Listen to the warnings! Don Lehman is a thief and a rude asshole. The service is horrible and he imbeds hidden fees for "monitoring" in your bill to almost double it monthly. The other users are also correct - he has you sign an FIVE year contract without knowing. Do NOT use this company. Don Lehman gets the job done. He's been servicing and updating my security for over 20 years. Today he was at my door almost immediately after I called his office following a Verizon install visit. Seems like most times I have something done in my house, they disconnect part of my security and Don is fast at reinstalling the interruptions and offering advice on a grand list of house things. to all local residents in Fairfield County and Westchester County: This is a warning to anyone thinking of using Attack Cat Security. Think again. when we bought our house in CT the Cat Attack owner came over and was quite unpleasant and impatient. He made us sign a 5 year service contract, which we found ridiculous. And there is no way to cancel it, without egregious consequences. Meaning pay the balance and get no service. I'm not sure what this guy does. But there are no checks for battery life or system checks at any time during the year unless something goes wrong. And when something goes wrong, you are slammed with an exorbitant bill. The worst experience I have ever had with any home service provider and I have been a home owner for 25 years. The owner goes on and on about his education and the size of his home and his past careers, but wasted half a day unable to open one of my windows. No it wasn't stuck, he just didn't know how to open it. I still got charged for the full days' labor. For a business that should be cutting edge, the company struggles with every day technology. I received a quote for my security system and the actual charges were more than double the quote!!! Every conversation is a confrontation because the owner refuses to answer questions. He just wants to tell you how he's going to do it. All the while charging you 10s of 1000s of dollars. Have been a customer with Don since 1991. Excellent service and reasonable prices. When we replace our windows, Don came over quickly and reconnected our wired system. When we switched to Cablevision for our phone, same thing. Don periodically checks our system. Would definitely recommend his company. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This company has been horrible for my elderly, widowed mother. I tried to help her deal with them, but If you ask questions they laugh, I guess because we're woman. They made up a crazy story about why her system is malfunctioning and are trying to bilk her out of thousands of dollars because they can't fix the problems with their own alarm system. The owner is rude and acts like you're bothering him if something goes wrong with the system he installed. One of his employees was very condescending to me (as mentioned above with the laughing) and then had the audacity to come to her home and tell my mother that I was rude to him, because I slammed him for laughing at my questions. I suspect if I were a man I would not have been so disrespected. I would not recommend this company to anyone ever, but especially to women. read more

Attack Cat has a solid reputation, and Don - more or less - did a fine job with our service. I am mainly here to let buyers beware that, unless Attack Cat, or any provider is giving significant hardware up front, there is NO REASON to sign a contract for 5 years, as we did. You are then marrying this service, their pricing, all of it... without knowing anything about them. We had an issue come up that would have been a major expense. When we realized we could have an entire new system, put in for virtually free in exchange for a three (not five) year contract with another vendor, we attempted to negotiate out of this 5 year contract. This attempt was met with a 5% reduction in the price of repair and, when denied, debt collectors demanding 5 years of fees, up front along with threats to bring the legal pain. Sweet! When an employee of your company laughs at me on the phone when I'm asking questions about why my elderly mother was asked to pay for services you tell me aren't working properly, that I'm trying to resolve, you get an F. Shame on you for 1)taking advantage of a handicapped senior citizen and 2)being so disrespectful to laugh at a customer trying to get some information and answers. Don is absolutely first-rate. We have had his alarm systems in our house for 20 years and it has worked flawlessly. The service calls us within 1 minute of an alarm going off. I turn it on every night and know that we are protected by him and his team. He takes pride in his work and there is clearly a vast difference between what Don provides and all the others. read more

When we purchased our home, the preexisting alarm had been disconnected and the hard wiring cut. Don Lehman, the owner of Attack Cat, personally did the rewiring and re installation of the alarm, customizing the system to meet our needs. This was no easy feat--the house is large and the damage to the system was extensive. He is extremely responsive, attentive and always responds personally to a call or service visit. We signed up for Attack Cat to install a security system for our home which we terminated prior to installation. The owner Don Lehman was not knowledgeable about the latest sensor technology and designed a system that would not have protected my family properly. He received a large down payment which we had to go to court to get back. The judge found Mr. Lehman disingenuous and ruled in our favor. Interesting that the town that Attack Cat Security operates from uses a competitor as their security provider. Avoid this company. read more

This company is terrible. They get you to sign a contract and then they provide terrible service. We had a panic alarm at our house for an emergency and they never responded. They confirmed that the alarm signal was received but couldn't figure out what they were supposed to do, so they did nothing. When I told Attack Cat they were not providing the monitoring services they had agreed to provide, I cancelled future service with them. Despite the fact that I had already paid in full for all services that had been provided, they reported me to the credit reporting agencies for not paying for future services. When I tried to work with them to resolve this, they were nasty and unreasonable. Stay far away from Donald A. Lehman, the owner, and stay as far away from Attack Cat Security as possible. They are not honest or honorable in how they provide service or operate their business. Their first response is always to blame the customer for the problems with their services.
