The owner of the company showed up. His name is Jason, He was very , personable and knowledgeable. We discussed what my security concerns and goals were, Jason took his time and did a thorough walk through explaining potential security vulnerabilities that I overlooked, more importantly advised me on the lack of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in my home. He also pointed out that my existing security system is hooked up to the telephone line which in the event of a burglary can be cut. New technology runs on cellular networks. I never knew home security was can be so in depth. Jason opened my eyes to all these potential threats. I was a customer of Marshall Alarm for over 15 years. This company was engaged for alarm…read moremonitoring for an annual fee. I found a reputable alarm company to monitor the system for far less money per month. I changed alarm companies and I either needed the code that Marshall alarm entered into the system when I engaged them 15 years ago or I needed them to restore the system back to the factory settings as it was prior to using their service. I was told that neither could be accomplished remotely due to the age of the equipment and a service call to my home would be required at the cost of $200. Mr. Marshall finally reduced that cost to $139. I was also told that the new company would have the same problem trying to remotely program the system and the new company would not be able to monitor my system. I paid Marshall Alarm $139 for a 5 minute service call. The technician punched in a few numbers on the key paid and left. The new company out of California had no trouble remotely programming the system from their office. My old alarm system is working as well as it did when Marshall Alarm was the monitoring company. It is disconcerting that I would be charged a large fee in order to change alarm monitoring companies. Buyer beware, alarm companies keep raising their monitoring prices and when you shop and find a much lower price for the same service, they charge huge fees to get your own equipment back to operating mode. Shop around and see for yourself. There are many options out there .
