Now the earring is reabsorbing due to being pierced with too short of a stem. This could have been avoided if it was done upon initial request. Be the judge of my experience. I made an appointment to get two sets of earLOBE piercings. The…read morereason I made the appointment was the week prior I brought my dad in for an earlobe piercing. His earlobe was pierced with a stud. So when I went in I fully expected to get studs...I did not. First I knew I offended her when I made a comment about cheap jewelry but I was referring to fragile acrylic balls. Something told me to leave but like an idiot I stayed. On my left ear the third ring sits on an angle due to the way it was pierced. On my right ear I noticed a difference in the ring sizes and had it confirmed that one ring was 8mm and the other 10mm. But my genuine question is why the differences in your protocol. You wouldn't put a big ring in an infant or toddlers ears. Healing is much more difficult with hoops-I've had lots of near misses with a brush. New place I visited said flat back studs should have been used. I could tell she wasn't interested in seeing the cutesy ideas I had for my ears but I listened with feigned interest about how she can afford fancy meal kits. I made an appointment to see an APP piercer who said they'll fix me up once healed. I wasn't going for a gauged look. Bottom line to all those reading. Ask if the shop is registered APP. Write down all your questions and get it in writing if you have to. Ask if the business follows set protocols or I just got unlucky because she didn't care for me because I don't fit the profile of a piercing fanatic. In fact one piercer told me "if the piercer tells you it HAS to be done a certain way walk out immediately. I still tipped and I wish I hadn't. I don't like writing negative reviews because a business owners livelihood depends on customers. Please don't let a piercer tell you it's their way or the highway. In fact the reason I didn't say anything while still in the chair was fear of being kicked out of the shop as noted in other reviews which have since been removed by the business owner. As have the other negative reviews. From experience I can tell you there are options where you won't be at the mercy of a piercer.

I have been a loyal customer of Ann's since about 2021 and will NOT be back after today…read more I had an appointment for 11:30 AM that I had made days in advance on the business website. I arrived for my appointment on time and watched people who arrived after me get called back for 30 minutes. At noon, I asked the woman at the front desk if they would be able to get me in soon as my appointment was half an hour ago. She said yes, and it would just be a few minutes. Fair enough, the salon was busy. 30 MORE minutes later, they are STILL calling people back who arrived after I did. At this point, I asked the front desk again whether they would be able to get me in soon and pointed out the fact that people who arrived after me had been called back for an hour, even after I had said something once. They MISSED MY APPOINTMENT somehow, after I had been checked in, sitting in front of them, and asked the front desk TWICE when it would be time for me. They did apologize and offer a discount, but I'd prefer to find a nail salon who doesn't ignore the existence of longtime customers.

A few days later i noticed some extra gel that wasn't filed well on the sides of a couple nails and also a couple nails were scuffing and the color wore off the one side. I should have trusted my instinct and walked out. There were no sanitary measures, the pedicure bath was dirty; I saw the clippings from the previous customer. I was about to leave but I figured I'd give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she'd clean the bay? Nope. It did not seem as though sanitation was a priority at all. It seems like all the tools are not sanitized, there was a UV sterilizer but it looked like it was for show. The tools she pulled were in her basket already and looked dirty. I was repulsed but committed. I figured she'd wash them, but no. Everything was going fine until... the nail tech pulled at my inner corners of the nail, claiming I had an ingrown nail. It hurt A LOT! She did not ask me if it was ok to work on it. She yanked at it & I'm worried as heck that I'm going to get an infection. I didn't say anything because it was too late. And, I felt like it would have been an awkward encounter after a previous awkward encounter when I asked to cut my toes shorter and she adamantly said no. I feel bad writing this, but, the business needs to hear this feedback. Toe infections are real, and sanitation measures need to be taken seriously. If working on an ingrown, disposable tools should be used. Both toes and they are throbbing now. She was not gentle when moving my feet, the massage was effortless. There were no prices posted, but the gel pedicure was $58. All in all, I would not recommend this nail salon. If I get an infection, I'll update this post but I'll spare you the pus. At the end, I did ask for her to spray my nails with alcohol & she was very confused and told me I didn't need that. Update: yes it's infected, and now have to go to the doctor.
