Be the judge of my experience. I made an appointment to get two sets of earLOBE piercings. The reason I made the appointment was the week prior I brought my dad in for an earlobe piercing. His earlobe was pierced with a stud. So when I went in I fully expected to get studs...I did not. First I knew I offended her when I made a comment about cheap jewelry but I was referring to fragile acrylic balls. Something told me to leave but like an idiot I stayed. On my left ear the third ring sits on an angle due to the way it was pierced. On my right ear I noticed a difference in the ring sizes and had it confirmed that one ring was 8mm and the other 10mm. But my genuine question is why the differences in your protocol. You wouldn't put a big ring in an infant or toddlers ears. Healing is much more difficult with hoops-I've had lots of near misses with a brush. New place I visited said flat back studs should have been used. I could tell she wasn't interested in seeing the cutesy ideas I had for my ears but I listened with feigned interest about how she can afford fancy meal kits. I made an appointment to see an APP piercer who said they'll fix me up once healed. I wasn't going for a gauged look. Bottom line to all those reading. Ask if the shop is registered APP. Write down all your questions and get it in writing if you have to. Ask if the business follows set protocols or I just got unlucky because she didn't care for me because I don't fit the profile of a piercing fanatic. In fact one piercer told me "if the piercer tells you it HAS to be done a certain way walk out immediately. I still tipped and I wish I hadn't. I don't like writing negative reviews because a business owners livelihood depends on customers. Please don't let a piercer tell you it's their way or the highway. In fact the reason I didn't say anything while still in the chair was fear of being kicked out of the shop as noted in other reviews which have since been removed by the business owner. As have the other negative reviews. From experience I can tell you there are options where you won't be at the mercy of a piercer. read more

Amazing experience!! My daughter and I had planned to have a special day planned starting the day with having piercings done. We both have othe piercing and we wanted to get something special together. My daughter found Kutters Edge in Canonsburg she couldn't of found a better place. Kathi (owner) was wonderful with us explained every last detail, we learned so much that day that we never knew. And I think everyone gains a new friend when you leave there. My daughter got a double forward helix and and a new nose ring. I got my nose pierced & lower double helix. Kathi was so professional and knowledgeable. I hate leaving a bad review for a small business but I've gotten FIVE incorrectly done piercings here. I was young so I didn't know what kind of damage was being done to my body which is why I kept going back, but I stopped when she pierced my belly button with jewelry that wasn't appropriate and I went to have it changed to jewelry that would be appropriate a few weeks later when it was clearly infected and irritated while also EATING the jewelry because it did not fit the massive chunk of skin she pierced... and she told me "you just need to change how you sit" and sent me home after looking at it from a distance. She pierced my forward helix incorrectly, both nostril piercings from her were incorrect and have to be redone (my mom also shared this experience with her unfortunately), she also pierced a regular helix piercing on me incorrectly. NOT WORTH IT I walked in and the piercer asked me what I wanted pierced. I said "I would like my cartilage pierced," and she laughed in my face like I was stupid and said "It's called a helix piercing." I got a weird feeling about her and it got worse when she gave me the cleaning pamphlet. I asked why we 'aren't supposed to clean piercings at all.' She said "DID YOU EVEN READ THE PAPER?" And I felt very offended and judged. I drove an hour to get pierced here because the reviews are all so good. Take my word for it. Do not go here. read more

First off... door was locked had to ring a doorbell. We had an appointment for a child ear peircing. Was greeted at the door instantly with an attitude because my husband and I were both there. We are talking a 1.5 year old child, obv needs both parents. She told us to leave because she was on crutches and she couldn't handle more than one person in the store as if we were going to rob her or something. If you own a buisness, esp in this time. Kathy (the owner) at Kutter's Edge has been the best each and every time I have been there. I first went to her when my first belly button piercing (from a different shop) was badly infected and off centered. She helped me get through the healing process and then repierced it. Her advice to just use soap and water, keeping it clean, and allowing your body to heal on its own has worked every time! Since my belly button repiercing at Kutter's Edge I have had my nose pierced twice (removed first time for a year or so for job purposes), my tragus, rook, and cartilage pierced as well as having a Christina piercing done. I have many more piercings I would like to get done and I will only go to Kathy (I travel over 4 hours just to see her). Also, I was in Brazil for three weeks on the Amazon and with the quality of the water had issues with my nose piercing. She not only answered my call immediately she helped me determine what to use with the few supplies I had on hand. She is amazing and always available to help with anything! read more

I am so thrilled I found a nearby body piercing shop! Kathi is the owner and operator of Kutters Edge and she is awesome-very responsive to questions via email, personable and she takes care of her clients. She also offers online booking with reminders which is a breeze to use. I went to her after having my Daith pierced over a year ago at another shop. I recently got a hardware change at this other shop and regretted the new hoop I chose immediately after since it was too big, didn't feel secure and had a "click" closure rather than a smaller, closed hoop. It unhinged itself after 3 weeks of changing it at this other shop and I couldn't get it back in which brought me to Kathi! Thank goodness! She was very helpful in assisting me in choosing a smaller, closed silver hoop with a tiny stone with "bling." The perfect size and just elegant looking. She has a great selection of jewelry for all different piercings which I love! She put in my new hoop in my Daith piercing in under 5 minutes and talked me thru every step. She's thorough and I wouldn't hesitate to go to her for any hardware change or other piercings! read more

Please don't ever go here. I got my tragus pierced here about 2 or so years ago and the piercing is still trying to heal itself. When I got the piercing done everything was fine and all the employees were very nice. The "piercer" told me (after she had pierced my ear) to just let my soap and water run over the piercing. She did not give me any anti-bacterial solutions or sea salt. It seemed kind of odd but she seemed like she knew what she was talking about so being the stupid girl I was back then listened to her (and not my gut) and just naturally cleaned the piercing. It was my first "piercing" so I wasn't quite sure how to go about everything... so not cleaning it or questioning her was my fault. I was so wrong not to question her. I went back a couple of months later with one of those huge bubbles above the piercing. The "piercer" said it was normal and told me she'd take out the jewelry, replace it, and clean it for me. Cool. Couple months later and no change. The piercing had actually gotten worse. I then decided to go to a certified piercing shop in the South Side. The man there told me that she should have given me anti-bacterial solution and sea salt. He then told me that the jewelry I had in my piercing looked way too big for my ear, thickness wise and length wise (it was a loop). He took out the jewelry and to his actual shock told me that the previous "piercer" had put in a gauge two sizes bigger (or smaller if you're thinking technical gauge sizes) than what the normal piercing should be. He also showed me that the quality of the jewelry was horrid. The jewelry had turned into a dull metal instead of the shiny silver they use for piercings. He then managed to re-pierce my tragus and put in jewelry that was the right gauge size and that would fit my ear. What floored me was that the "piercer" at Kutters Edge didn't even tell me let alone ask me if it was OK to put a bigger gauge in my ear! This made my piercing worse!! And if she knew my piercing was still infected why would she put in horribly quality jewelry?? So to this day I'm still trying to heal my tragus with the right solutions and sea salt. Please avoid all this trouble if you ever get a piercing done and make sure the 'piercer' is certified and make sure you get all the proper solutions for good healing!!!!!!! And don't go to a piercing shop that sells bad quality jewelry. P.S. My friend went here as well (with me) and she's also having problems with her piercings. read more

Kutters Edge was an amazing place. It was a very very clean establishment, and they were very sanitized with everything they did. They were straightforward about the procedure and explained how to care for it, as well as, giving a paper on how to take care of it. I only needed holes expanded and new jewelry but she made sure I knew what all my options were and gave me a very reasonable quote for everything. I absolutely love this piercing shop. The owner Kathi has done all four of my piercings (bottom lip, philtrum, tongue and septum) over the past two years. She is extremely knowledgable and friendly. I've never had problems with my piercings healing or anything else. She always answers all of my questions and concerns that I may have. I highly recommend this shop if you want your piercing done properly. I would never trust anyone else to pierce me after finding this shop. My girlfriend went here to get an industrial piercing about a month ago. Sure enough, no more than 2 weeks after getting the piercing, she developed a very painful infection. She luckily received medical treatment before it could get any worse, and was put on an antibiotic. When the issue of the infection was brought up to the piercer, they denied that it was infected and implied that the medical professional had no clue what they were talking about and proceeded to insist that it was not infected, even after test results that were sent away clearly indicated a form of bacteria called "Pseudonomos". We explained what bacteria was found and they completely blew it off. When asked for a refund after being told by the doctor to remove the piercing, the piercer simply said there was nothing that they could do and that it was just "unfortunate". read more

I can't get over how amazing this place is. The owner, Kathi, pierced my tragus and after the second day, I could even sleep on my side where the piercing was. My first cartilage piercing hurt a lot and took forever to heal. She told me that whoever pierced me the first time did a sloppy job because it was crooked. This was a completely different experience. She knew exactly what she was doing and got right down to business. The place is very clean and you can tell she cares a lot about being sanitary.
