I was okay with the design but the artist took nearly 4 hours to complete the work in a small 3"x 3" area on my inner wrist. The area was over worked and in days infected to the point I had to go to the ER. They diagnosed it as localized cellulitis and I ended up on an antibiotic for 2 weeks. The tattoo healed on the surface but just looks like a smear of a tattoo 2 months later. I contacted the owner who seemed disinterested and never followed up to see how it healed.

Had a terrible experience getting my daughter's ears pierced. The girl who did the piercing shook…read morebadly and took about 2 full minutes to pierce one earlobe and get the earring in. Had to watch my kid stay impaled on the needle while the piercer went across the room to get the earring then struggled to get it in. It was such a traumatizing experience that my kid refused to get the second ear pierced (and my partner and I weren't going to let that happen again anyway). As we got ready to leave, she gave no aftercare instructions. We then tried to bring the matter to the attention of the shop owners so that no one would have to suffer the same experience, but were ignored and dismissed. Used to love getting tattoos here but never coming back again due to the incompetence and bad service.

I had a very disappointing and costly experience with CAIN at Human Canvas. I came in with a very…read morespecific fine line tattoo request, which Cain claimed to be experienced in. He charges premium hourly fees at $130/hour yet I later learned he's been tattooing for less than two years, something he never disclosed. He promised to send custom artwork before my appointment but never did. On the day of, he said I was actually scheduled for the following week and threw together a last minute design that didn't look like what I requested but I was assured it would be very soft and feminine once shaded. I was charged for 4 hours, including time spent prepping, printing, and adjusting the stencil, not just tattooing as he originally stated. After a second session with little improvement, I canceled my final appointment and asked for a refund of my deposit. Aside from asking me to come in for a healed picture he has not offered any resolution. He has ignored my texts, calls, request for my deposit back since I wasn't going to have the tattoo finished there, and he has never followed up or returned a call. I waste $900 to get a tattoo I didn't want, and now I have to pay to remove what he did so another artist can fix it. I did find a highly skilled ARTIST (Laura Mohn at The Kindred Spirit Tattoo co.) who completed the second half of the tattoo with custom fine line art for less than Cain charged and it's exactly what I asked for and absolutely beautiful! Do your homework. Don't be fooled by confidence that isn't backed by skill or integrity. The pics are my reference photos I showed at the consultation. What he charged me $900 for, and the second half of the tattoo which was completed by Laura Mohn from The Kindred Spirit to show how they look side by side for reference of what I asked for versus what Cain did.
