Stopped into the shop suffering from the start of a heat related episode. Everyone was so kind and it wasn't long before someone took the initiative to bring me a cold bottle of water to recover. It happened to be their 2nd Friday flash day. Came in to recover, ended up leaving with a new wonderful piece of art that I'm so so so happy with! These are the kind of people that make me want to move into the neighborhood. read more

I was just informed by my AMAZING artist that Sara Eve gave the artists 2 weeks notice that she is kicking everyone else out and becoming a dedicated studio for just herself. I have had my tattoo scheduled for at least 5 weeks and now my artist is having to scramble to find a new studio and reschedule everyone. Very unprofessional to not let artists finish their schedules and give them adequate time to find new shops. My partner and I loved PMA but will be letting our friends know how this was handled. I am following my artist. read more

Absolutely wonderful experience. Sara Eve is extremely kind, talented, and welcoming. The shop is clean and comfortable (they have snacks, juice, and tea / coffee for you if needed - who does that?) My old tattoo is completely covered, and I'm over the moon in love with the detail she put in it. read more

Sadly, I cannot recommend. Tattoo artist did not fully read my request in the email consultation and refused to adjust day of appointment. Tattoo artist kept my deposit ($184) and told me to pay another deposit and rebook. She did not offer any other options. read more

Sara Eve has been a phenomenal partner in helping with a cover up piece. She has been incredibly responsive, provided clear communication and has just been a delight to work with. My final piece is beyond what I could have imagined when I decided to go in for the work. I am so thankful for both the experience and the artwork from PMA! read more

PMA came highly recommended to me as a great place to get my first tattoo. My husband, Kenneth, passed away a few months ago. Nixie Vly was able to help me create a beautiful tattoo, made up of Ken's favorite flowers, to help me honor his memory. She helped me get through the process and was able to talk me through it to distract me from the pain. Can't recommend them enough! read more

I just got a tattoo done by Marisa. She is an angel!!! She was very patient with my indecisive nature and helped me choose the perfect spot for my rainbow. She also was happy to touch up a couple of lines at my request at the end of the tattoo. Marisa and Sara both have great vibes, it was nice and very comfortable to chat with them before and during my tattoo. The shop feels SO clean and sanitary, and prices were very reasonable. I feel great about this tattoo and can't wait for my next would! Highly recommend PMA! read more

Great vibes, great talent! I've gotten a few tattoos from Jay Ivy and I love them all! They are very collaborative and creative and I would definitely get another tattoo from them. If you want great quality black work with detail/shading, they're your artist! read more

Amazing tattoo shop, I got my first and second tattoo here and will come back for more! I got mine from Terrell Tuttle

When you walk into this shop, you're home. Whether it's the comfy couch, den-style waiting area with lovely artwork, or the casual welcome you get from the artists, you just feel yourself take it down a notch when you enter PMA. Working with the team to set up an appointment was blissfully easy- it was actually me that held up the process by a couple of days! Everything except for the initial consultation and actual tattoo was done seamlessly through email and then text. The artist who designed my tattoo, Mark, is as chill as they come. He was easy to talk to, understood my vision, and made the process nearly- but not completely- painless. Wink, wink. (Come on, people. It is a tattoo after all). I expect that I will use his services again, as they say, tattoos are addicting! read more

Walking out with a fresh piece and I feel amazing. Sara is gentle, attentive, reassuring, patience, and ultimately communicative. She's really knows her craft and you can see it in her portfolio and hear it in the consultation. I'm an anxious and awkward mess so naturally I was worried throughout the entire process. She answered my questions one by one and made sure I was ready for each step. This honestly could t have turned out any better. I'm in love! Thank you so much Sara! This is far from my last tattoo. Can't wait to post pictures when it's healed. Her shop is full of art, sketches, portfolio pieces, and greenery. It's instantly relaxing and lovely. The music selection is great mix of alternative and indie jams. She'll be moving to McKees Rocks next month but is currently in Dormont. read more

Sara is an amazing business owner and artist. I've stayed their client for many years, about nine or so. I've gotten added tattoos by other artists in the Pittsburgh area and no one is quite like Sara. While others art is amazing there is something about how an artist creates an environment as well. Sara is unique in that way. She makes sure you are fully taken care of from being hydrated and comfortable, all the way to advocating for unique needs of their clients. They are detailed and considerate. I can't say enough about their professionalism, the wonderful human they are, and their art. With Sara, you pay for more than the art you pay for a wonderful experience. This is what has kept me a client for so long. Love ya PMA! read more

I have been getting tattooed by Sara Eve since 2018. She is one of the most professional tattoo artists I have met, and very talented. She makes sure that you are comfortable, and asks if you need to take any breaks. Seeing her for each session is like seeing an old friend I haven't spoken to in a bit. The rest of the staff are amazing. They are super friendly, and professional. I always feel welcomed and at ease. They are great to talk to, vibrant and accepting. I have recommended several people to PMA Tattoo, and I will continue to do so. read more

Sara Eve and her apprentice Marissa are amazing human beings and artists! I have gotten multiple pieces from Sara and one from Marissa. She is a joy to work with and really cares about her clients, never rushes you and makes sure you are comfortable and happy the whole time. She really gets how to make the whole experience comfortable and pleasant. Technically as a tattooer she is spectacular. She creates beautiful art, and tattoos with amazing precision. Her work is clean, well saturated and impeccably done. And she has a really light touch, I heal fast and clean when I see her. None of the bruising or scabbing I have had with other folks. Her prices are reasonable, her work is fantastic and she is creating a positive and welcoming space in her shop. I can't offer A higher recommendation! read more

Sara is AMAZING!!! She is so easy and great to work with. She can take your ideas and thoughts and turn them into amazing artwork! I found her a few years ago on Instragam, and followed Sara from a previous shop, to her very own shop. I cannot say enough great things about PMA Tattoo!! The shop is clean, cozy, comforting and super easy to get to! Sara is super flexible, and wants you to walk away happy! I have three Sara Eve originals, and three other tattoos she's helped save and bring back to life. Sara is an incredible person all around. Her talent is a cut above the rest, and she makes you feel incredibly comfortable. She's so artistic and creative, and offers tips and advice while still letting you have your vision. She wants to do what she can to make sure your piece is perfect and your idea is exactly what you have in mind. It's so nice to have a place you can go and feel welcome and free, not nervous that you're going to be judged. Her shop is also very clean, which of course for a tattoo shop is incredibly important. I would recommend Sara as a person, an artist, a shop, and everything else all day every day. read more

Sara Eve Rivera won my skin for life. She is the most creative, easiest-going, most relatable tattoo artist in my experience. She is thoughtful and caring and she aims to make your entire experience working with her enjoyable. I reccommend her to everyone who is ever interested in my tattoos and also jam her instagram, @saraevetattoo into their ear drums. She's pleasantly sweet and also tends to your every need. Sara is very talented at covering up tattoos as well and displays a gorgeous shop window, full of cute little succulents and other plants. Please, if you're interested in a professional art piece, go straight to PMA tattoo! read more

Where do I begin? Let's start with how I met Sara--- I was new to Pittsburgh and walking home from work. She was working at a shop in Bloomfield at the time, I walked in (after walking into 3 other shops during my walk) and fell in love with all her work. I asked the guy working the counter if Sara had time to meet because her art work was blowing me away, I just wanted to say hi and put a name to the face. She was finishing up a tattoo at the time and let me just say.... My very first impression was "holy sh*t. she's the most professional artist i've ever met" (at this time I already had 20 tattoos) she was telling her client how to care for his tattoo and said "I know you are covered but every artist is different and every part of your body heals differently, i just like to go over with my clients so there's no issues" and went on to explain how if he needed a touch up to just give her a call. I didn't have a chance to see his tattoo but I saw the grin on his face after he looked at it in the mirror and it was the SAME look someone has when they see their loved one at the end of the aisle, or the look a kid has when dumping out their Halloween bag,-- actually, his look was identical to the look people have when the waiter is bringing their food. She had some time to talk so she didn't have me make a consultation appt for the first tattoo she did. When I got to the shop for my appointment she took 10-15 min to talk with me about how the design needed something to make it "pop" we worked together and came up with a gorgeous tattoo. She tattooed my sternum that day and was such a cheerleader. She kept saying "You're doing great!" "You're holding so still!" "You're so strong." Little things that REALLY HELP when being tattooed. I mean, I have over 20 tattoos-- but the sternum hurts!! The pep talk but it really, really, really made me feel so much better! Now tattoo number 2... She has made my sleeve better than perfect. I went to another really talented artist while living in Oregon who did the top half of my sleeve. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find someone to finish my tattoo after my artist left Oregon. A year later I found myself living in Pittsburgh and after my first tattoo with Sara I KNEW she was the one. We did the outline while she was tattooing in Bloomfield. She did a great job with the outline. We made a second appointment for a few months later, got the color-- great! We made one more appointment to do my elbow/final touches. She contacted me in October to tell me she was going to open her own shop in Dormont and asked if I was still interested in having her finish my sleeve. OF COURSE I WAS!! I told her that her move was NO problem. I really appreciated the fact that she reached out to see if I would still be her client. I loved that. The first time I saw her shop my jaw dropped. It is beautiful. The outside is is teal blue, so it stands out and is very easy to find. The inside is so welcoming, her couch is comfortable and SO cute. Some of art on the walls are for sale, I bought myself a cute little seahorse in a shadowbox print that she made. Some of the art was made by her buddies so not everything is for sale but it's all great to look at! The tattooing area is a very large space that doesn't make you feel closed in. She also has a "room divider" to put up when tattooing shy folks who don't want to be seen by the people walking by because she has a large window by where you get tattooed. She also has her certificate in very clear view which I LOVE because I've gone to shops who look super legit/do GREAT work but don't have a certificate showing... just makes you feel uneasy so I love that Sara clearly displays hers. On New Years Eve she finished my sleeve, added the rest of color, shading, did my elbow. It was a great day. I had no idea I was going to be THIS happy with my arm. My mind is blown. Thank you Sara. I do plan to go to Sara the rest of the time I live in PA. I may from time to time to go someone else depending on that style of the tattoo but I cant' think of a style Sara hasn't mastered? She's the definition of a bad ass/hard worker. Thank you Sara for being so welcoming and for helping me with my self esteem by tattooing me!! ((for yelp users-- i will edit this and post photos of my sleeve SOON--it's still healing)) read more

Sara did an amazing job. Her work is incredible and her attitude makes the experience so comfortable and fun. I never felt judged or unsure. She didn't rush going through my consultation, and asked about every detail. She scheduled an extra hour before my tattoo to refine the design, and pick colors. She gives the same amount of care and respect to small tattoos as she does to huge tattoos. When I wasn't sure about the color I wanted, she took the time after outlining my tattoo in black and then painted in the part I wasn't sure about so I could get an idea of how it would look. She was extremely helpful in tattoo aftercare and went into great detail about everything. I really appreciate her policies are clear and outlined. It's hard to find tattoo shops that are so professional. She gives a free touch-up within a year of the tattoo, which I will definitely take advantage of. I can't wait to go back! read more
